I had a great dinner at ID, vadapalani. The last outing here, few months back, was a bummer but they have retained their best selves. Ordered thattu Idly, pesarattu and appam. The thattu Idly was amazing. The price tag is justified given the amount of sides they serve. Pesarattu and appam were good too. Only wish the appam was made in the traditional sense with a thick center part. The thengaa paal was as good as a dessert. The service has improved as well since the last visit. Hope they maintain this level. ID is certainly one of the top places for pucca South Indian tiffin in chennai.
Except for that it’s to much crowded some days they serve decent South Indian and one of the best coffees.!
Mushroom Masala dosa was fine
Idiyaapam with pattani kurma was good but not value for the money
Parotta with mushroom curry was tasty
Nellore erra Karam dosa.....nice n spicy but spice in Karam was raw
Rava idli....seriously?pls don't spoil the name of that idli rather remove it from menu

Good place to have traditional south indian cuisine... all the dishes you get here can be got at any road side shop but this being a big brand gives you the cleanliness,presentation and flawless taste that you’d expect from a big brand. 5star for that. Tried a very simple dish which you might have had at you place too but it swept me off my feet... idiyappam with coconut milk... still drooling recalling the old memories 🤤🤤
Such tasty idlies, and such a good packing. Must try their Podi idlies. It's inside the forum mall so a bit expensive, I prefer ordering.....!
ID at Forum Mall is my favorite place for Keerai Vadai and Tea before movie. They serve good piping hot food and definitely the place to enjoy your South Indian quick food.

Probably the best Vegan restaurant in the city. It serves typical South Indian food but offers great taste and first class service. A truly premium feel to the restaurant can be felt. A great place to fulfill your daily vegan needs. A place one must truly visit if you're a vegan lover.
Simple has it's own charm, this single line defines this place.
Staff was very courteous though some of didn't understand English. But I appreciate their efforts.
I had pesrattu for 1st time here and I must say I loved the dish. Would like to have again.
Also the concept of open kitchen gives a confidence of hygiene levels.

Dosas and idlies taste better when dined in a traditionally based outlet. The authenticity adds the plus factor and ID is one such. The choice of menu is like a typical south indian restaurant and taste as good as any. A go to staple food restaurant in my view. Filter coffee is the stand out of all( this is coming from a huge coffee fan)
On a late evening after a movie at Palazzo, all we wanted was comfort food (read: South Indian). Enter iD. Though people were waiting for a table, it was well managed and in a bit we got ours. My sibling wanted to start off with sweet pongal while I had been craving rava kesari. So we ordered both! They were so well made. You could say the ingredients were of quality. We ordered different varieties of dosas. My cheese dosa came in fully loaded and by the time I finished it, I could eat no more. So I went for a small coffee instead of the regular one. The quantity felt just about perfect and the cup was so cute! Despite the crowd, service was prompt. The person attending to us was juggling between orders but managed to keep our preference in mind- which was to bring in the sweet dishes first (and not with the coffee). And this place has Zomato Gold too! So good food & family time done right!
Limited and neat menu. But many dosa varieties though. Cheese dosa is my fav here. Appam tastes delicious too with the coconut milk. Price is almost equivalent to any pure vegetarian restaurants.

I had a Poori, I also tried out an Onion Uthappam and they were really good! The Sambar too was absolutely amazing! Some really good stuff!

Here here...!! Yet another vegetarian restaurant. For people who think of where to eat veg food, here's your pitstop. Really good portion and surprisingly not over priced. We used ZOMATO GOLD and ended up trying more dishes and all being yummy. Add it to your to go places.
This is my favourite place in Chennai to have the South Indian cuisine.
What to Try- Masala Dosa for its crispiness, Idlis for their softness and they will definitely melt in your mouth, Ghee Pongal- the best Pongal I have ever tasted. Also last but not the least the chutneys served along with these dishes are flavourful.
Price Point- Value for Money/ Light on your Wallet
Service- The place is always crowded, hence wait time is around 10 mins, the staff is a bit slow but courteous.

One among the hbd full of veg breakfast places in besant nagar area.... when compared to similar restaurants it’s a bit expensive... that’s the main reason I have not given a five. The South Indian breakfast competitors such as Murugan idly and vishranthi are very reasonably priced when compared to ID.
I like their thattu idly particularly. Nice spicy podi on top with ghee. The sambar is served hot with 3 types chutney. Lot of varieties to choose from. Made fresh and served hot.
Opens at 7am. So if ur an early breakfast person and in besant nagar area. It’s a nice place to have it.
ID is always one of my favourite place for veg food, if it’s my veg day and have some works near Vadapalani, then my sure hit will be on ID. Recently had breakfast 🥞 and items ordered was served hot and on time. Especially my kid loved both variety of Pongal topped with ghee..... coffee had right amount of flavour and sugar.... key point food quality was really goood and quantity was sufficient if you are moderate eater.... should give definite try and recommend 😊😊
A little bit more expensive than other south indian chains but compensates with better ambience and cleanliness. Rava upma is classy and a must try.

Meals include poori with aloo masala.Parrupu podi , ghee, variety rice (Briyani),Koottu, Sambar, rasam,karakozhambu,poriyal,thuvayal, curd,appalam,buttermilk and Kesari.
Paarupu podi is a must try.I asked them to refill the paarupu podi more than once and hands down my favorite.
Briyani was made using normal rice and tasted good, my second favourite dish I had that noon. Other dishes tasted equally good.But aloo masala, parrupu podi,Briyani and karakozhambu were my personal favourite in that order.
The staffs were courteous but the Service was really sloooooooow.We had to call them again and again each and everytime we needed something.I am pretty sure this was the case for other customers as well.
But other than that, definitely a value for money if you are someone who eats Jumbo meals like me 😃

Went with my family for dinner. This place serves authentic tasty south Indian delicacies be it the sambar vada, pongal or the dosa. This place is one of those places that serve a good cup of aromatic piping hot filter coffee in town
Okay, so I visited this place during my visit to Chennai last month. I was damn hungry and this came to my rescue. Can't get over with their race idli and kesari bhath. It is totally value for money. I got kesari bhath packed and brought it to Delhi so you can very well imagine how yummy it would have been. If you love south Indian food this place is surely your temple. The presentation the cleanliness everything was on point.
Delicious and good south Indian food at forum mall vadapalani. Had the thattu idli topped with spicy chilli powder also known as molaga podi . The chutneys are great . Had an amazing time.
Nice place for South Indian Thali. Kesari, Sambar, Rasam, Karakozhambu tasted Heavenly. Veg Rice was average. Poori and Potato was Good. Good Service. There is Rush during lunch.

This is a small outlet located in forum mall with a decent ambiance. Whenever we watch a movie, we are sure to visit this place for a light evening tiffin and coffee. They have very limited south indian menu, but trust me the taste is really good. Poori is so fluffy with no additional oil. Best part is, their kitchen is open and you can see them preparing in a hygienic manner. Onion Rava dosa is so crispy and soft, even the medhu vadas. Their sambar is also tasty. Filter coffee is the best to finish with.
My all time favourite is keera vadai .

Visited the place during Lunch and Ordered the special new year Vishu Thali. Though we had to wait little longer, it was worth it as the Thali which is a perfect fusion of flavours of Kerala and TN entangled the taste buds. Every item on the Thali was perfect and delicious. Among usual items like Poriyal, Kootu, Rasam, Sambar, Kolambu, chutney, sweet (Payasam), Beans and other curries, the pickle made from freshly and finely cut seasonal raw mango was lip smacking, so was the curry made from mashed potatoes and beans.
While the food was great amidst light music in the background and cozy ambience in air-conditioned space, the service isn’t upto the expectations. I didn’t particularly like the apathetic attitude of waiters and reluctance to cater in time and for making people wait or make repeated requests. They are not friendly, not smiling and their responses weren’t so pleasant. This is something they can work on.
I was damn hungry, went to Forum Vijaya mall and decided to dine in at “iD”. I always thot this place will be damn pricy.
Went in, got seated, menu card was served, water was poured in the glass.
They have a very simple menu, idlis, dosais, appams, idiayappams avd vadas and varieties were there for each.
Every variety of dosa was priced at 137₹ inc of GST.
When they kept this silver plate I thot it was a base or stand where the actual plate will sit on top of it but nope that was the actual plate.
I ordered mushroom masala dosa, it was excellent awesome taste, the chutneys and sambar were good too, actually better than saravana bhavan when comparing.

Mr Anand & his team manage the customers & peak crowd with everlasting smile n Grace all time, specially during the weekends. Nice time to enjoy the specialties are undoubtedly during week days. Most loved menu is Thattu idly, soft Poori n Mini Coffee with same aroma n taste :) Bon appetit friends.

Good taste and presentation. Place is neat and clean. Huge seating area. Though i did not try their meal but that looked quiet interesting. Usually one may find the taste of all idli vada n dosa's of the world are same. What makes a difference is the chuney sambar and other condiments.

Advice to the management - the people serving were not organized. There was chaos around - this was when the restaurant was fully occupied. Chaos on taking the order, delivery the food and in bill generation.
We had 1 experience where we told a waiter on a food, he replied that he will check and let us know. We waited for a few more minutes to find that he missed our question. We instead asked another waiter. We had continuously tell 1 or more waiter on our food to remind them of the order.
I believed this is part of Satyam group which is known for excellence in delivering good service to the customer. Please maintain the hospitality.

Loved the fact that they serve stuffed dosa which i can hardly find much here. Stuffing can be a little more in mushroom dosa. They only covered the small centre area of the dosa. Fast service and a decent outlet.

ID is certainly the 5-star of South Indian cuisine, specialising in the Thanjavur region's tastes..
The prices here remind of another age old huge chain - Saravana bhavan but the quality here is way above the other place..
Polite staff, friendly smiles, a touch of class and hygiene with gloves and tongs and hats et al..
We arrived here on the traditional pongalo-pongal day and so we had to have the Venn pongal and chakkara pongal.. both tasted good and the bowl were wiped clean..
Then we had their famous thattai idli with podi and masala dosa.. the idli was slightly dry and hence was not soft.. we didn't enjoy it much.. the podi on it was amazing though.. the dosa was generously cooked with oil but the masala was bland..
The glory of the day award went to roasted garlic dosa.. I simply can't describe the feeling.. they did not hold back on the succulent caramelised garlic spread all over a crisp dosa.. finger biting good..
The sambhar and chutneys were absolutely yummy..
And the filter kaapi was a blissful nostalgic ending to it all..

This outlet of ID is located in vijaya forum mall.. this place offers quick service of food. Keerai vada is one of the specialities of this place. the kitchen of the restaurant is placed at the centre of the sitting area so that the customers can have a look at the hygiene and tge cooking style of the dishes that they are eating. Also, dont miss the kesar halwa. It is really amazing!!!
It's like any other South India resto with a pricey menu. I din't find anything interesting on the taste part too. No complaints on the food quality , just the quantity could be better.
They have the most well behaved staffs and I love watching their live kitchen. That's one of the reasons why I visit often !

Simple interiors with classic black & white. One must definitely try sweet Pongal here, it's extremely delicious. Also loved the taste of cheese dosa & cheese & cashew appam. Service was good. Dishes ordered were delivered in express speed. ID became one of my favourite veggie restaurant.

Went for breakfast here around 10:30 am. It's not crowed at the time. Have ordered mysore masala dosa. Got after 15 minutes of ordering. It's was roasted perfectly and love the crispness. They served with three different chutney. Price is reasonable. Destination for crispy and perfectly roasted dosa.
Wonderful service by Azarudhin, greatest taste than greater Chennai 😃, the quality of food is something mesmerising and you will never regret an ounce of it. Their coffee, idli, dosa, etc, they are just incredible. They have gift of greatest chef who keep pulling the customers like Sun’s gravity. The one and only set back, the management can mourn about it is their service. The new staff don’t even soak themselves even after mugging Service definition from Oxford university. If they do even just spell and speak SERVICE definition for sure they can crack even 5 star restaurants. Jokes apart, rest all is great 😃!
Wanted to have Sadhya on Thiruvonam day and gave a try at ID @ Nexus Forum, Chennai.
Confirmed a reservation the previous day, but that had no impact given the crowd that had swarmed up. After a wait of nearly 30 minutes, was sat and served a basket of upperis with piping hot pathimugam.
The sadhya thali arrived a good 20 minutes after. The waft of aroma was instant and comforting. The fare was flavorsome and sumptuous. Requests for refills were met with a smile and were quite generous. The parippu vada, pal pradhaman, pazham dosa and erisseri require special mention.
But what stood out was the service which was a big notch up. Despite the demanding crowd, constant requests for refills, insta-feedback, the service team kept the tempo on. Kudos to Mr. Lokesh & team!! You folks rocked!!
Had mini sambhar idly,poori masla,appam and parotta. Service was average.they take lot of time to take order and give to table.the ambience is good.

The restaurant had a good ambience, The idly, vada , uthappam and coffee were tasty and nice. Service was good. But they had charged service charges by default which customers should be aware and if they don't want to pay should ask them to remove. Overall good experience. Suggest they put full glass enclosure for the kitchen .

The food is wonderful. I am happy with all the dishes that I have tried there so far. Their butter milk is something extra special. The place is neat and the price is reasonable. The service is excellent from everyone that I have got to interact with.

Other than thaali normal veg briyani, pulao, dosa, poori all veg items available here incl hot and cold beverages.. this sampoorna thaali rated inr 339, they serve with masala butter milk, soft idiyaappam with kurma, poori with masala, daal with ghee served with hot rice, ofcourse andhra podi and gonkura chutney served, sambar, vatha kulambu, rasam, curd, payasam, one poriyal, one varuval, they provide kothavaranga and moore milagai vatral in a platter... End ur meal with beetal pan and a banana...All are unlimited except tiffin items.. Worth for money.. Must try for veg people in this mall...

ID Vadapalani is a serene place to dine. We tried their chocolate cheese dosai. Initially though skeptical Mr. Alex Pandian mentioned that it would be nice. His service was also good. Kudos to Mr Solomon to have made this
