This is the best vada pav shop in Chennai (if you think of authentic Mumbai Pune vada pav) . Owner is from Maharashtra and having grown up there I can vouch for the taste. Nothing beats the taste. The bread bajji, several types of vada pav and freshly prepared sabudana crisp vada is absolute delight. The shop is literally a shack and space limited but you can stand and gorge on this food. I did recommend the visit purely to satiate your appetite for the original.
Be it the oil roasted green chillies sprinkled with salt or the trademark red dry chutney and the potato coriander garlic combo, none can make a vada pav like a Marathi manoos and Gaurav is one such treat. Highly recommended for those who seek taste.
Didn't t struggle to find this place. Kept clean. Order classic original vadapav and dabeli. Vadapav tastes authentic as I had in Mumbai. Repeat vadapav enjoyed with a tea next to this shop. This place don't sell tea and they opens Sunday. Zomato listed these info as wrong.

This is the place to go to if you want to grab a tasty evening snack. Strategically located, this tiny eatery serves lip smacking vada paavs at Rs.20 each. You can never stop at one, and is a sure favorite among the people working in the tech parks situated nearby. Their bread baji chaat is one of a kind and is a definite must try.
Really Nice Vadapavs..if u are craving some good Mumbai Ka Vadapav in chennai...The owner is from Maharashtra so you get 70-80% taste of Mumbai Ka vadapav...so nice experience..The place gets too hot to stand sometimes.
Gaurav Vada Pav is proof that the yummiest of foods is sometimes best obtained in a nook of a shop! This small eatery has grown from a small joint to twice its size with customers thronging everyday for their quota of evening snacks! My constant staple there is the delectable combination of Dabeli and Vadapav with the goodness of cheese thrown in!! Topped off with some sweet chutney, onion, coriander and sev!!! 😍😍 Pair this with a cup of masala chai and you are all set for the evening! :D I also love their onion vada pav and the sabudana vada! Super economical, this place is a must-visit for street food lovers!
Such a small shop with finger-lickingly tasty vada pavs and other snacks.. my favourite was cheese vada pav.. then dabeli and sabudana vada.. way too crowded in the evenings because they are just awesome.. but you can't expect to sit n dine happily.. get a parcel and enjoy.. been there several times.. I recommend this for its taste..
This place serves the best vada pav in Chennai, hands down. Forget everything else on the menu, and go for their vada pav. This stuff is gold.
This place is located near my office and a friend of mine took me to this shop and I have become a big fan of their sabudana vadas! We ordered sabudana vada, pav bhaji, vada pav and bread bhajji! My most favourite was sabudana vada and pav bhaji. A pocket friendly place to have evening snack and tea with your colleagues!
True taste of Mumbai vada pav... so no need to.miss it when you are in Chennai... it's good now we can order it from zoomato and other website
This is quite way back , multiple visits that I have made to this place . Just found it on Zomato and thought I must share my experience .
Was introduced to this place by a friend and we used to go there frequently for Vada Pav . It was a very small but clean place they had and always a huge crowd pondering around the place waiting for their vada pav. I believe now he has made it moved to a bigger space as per what I heard from my friend .
Coming to the food , I have eaten vada pav earlier in Pune and I loved it , never thought I would get it even better in Chennai . Have tasted vada pav , misal pav and dabeli . All are my favorites and especially the fried chilly and the masala they sprinkle over it at this place. Wow my mouth is watering as I write this 😊.
Overall a place to visit and it’s a crowd puller given the taste and economical pricing followed by hygiene and friendly down to earth owner who manages the kitchen also most of the times .
This place is a must try for any Vada Pav lovers! Its a small (kiosk like) place on the busy MGR Salai, along with a bunch of other eateries. Gaurav Vada Pav is always busy and crowded with the office goers as the main customers.
Though the place is crowded most of the times, they are not slow on their service. When you place your order you'll be sure to get you delicious hot vada pav withing the next 5 minutes! Along with the basic no nonsense Vada Pav you can also try out their Dabeli, Cheese Dabeli and even cheese vada pav (this is my favorite of the lot).
Each bite is super delicious and makes you want more. This will surely be a yummy accompaniment to ones evening cuppa. Total VFM!
Love this place!!!reminds me of mumbai ...cheesy dabeli ,sabudana vada ,vada pav with the spicy powder simply owsam!!!must visit place!the person serving is also very cheerful.amazing job .... Also very hygienic place to eat oit with friends for an evening snack break
My Favourite Place to have quick bite and to have good quality snacks in recent times. I am a sales Person and visit every other nukkad corner in Chennai so there is hardly any restaurant or snack shops which is left for me to taste but this one is the most Authentic. I have few customers In SP infocity so once I am done with my meetings I always prefer to have snacks over there. Most Surprisingly in todays world where people wants to earn more compromising on the Quality I have seen a person who runs this shop carrying an ideology that "I will not give anything which is harmful to my customers". Since I was standing there till the shop was closing I have seen him throwing away that oil which is only used once, since doctors also say don't have outside food since they use the same oil again and again but here the case was different. I have also seen him that throwing away all the Paws which are leftover which we all know that even in our homes also we keep Bread at least for a day or two. Upon asking him, He said why I should give anything to my customers which is even one day old. I realised this shop is not about only about taste this is more about customer service and Quality and He taught me wonderful lesson on Sales. I believe that's the reason why I have seen wonderful comments from every other person for this place. I am attaching some pictures. Request you all to have a visit it might be possible that you may not like some varieties but I can assure you, that you will love the quality and customer service. Its the Most Genuine and Authentic place.
Authentic Mumbai Vada Pav and Misal Pav. Best in City, friendly owner. Regular since couple of years, maintain same standard since first walk-in. Pav customised Mumbai quality. Definitely pocket friendly and tummy friendly 🤣👍
Gaurav Vada Paw in simple words awesome taste!!!
The owner i know him personally and even i had helped him when he started with the shop initially.
He is very much customer oriented he make sure that every persons enters his shop must have good experience.
I would also like to add few more points 1) Refine oil is used to fry the vada’s and once used is not used again for the next day.
2)The unsold pavs and vadas are never used again.
3)They make sure that each and every utensils used are properly cleaned and ready to used for next day.
Being a Marathi mulgi living in Chennai.. The moment I came to know about this place.. I decided to give it a try. To my surprise there was no compromise in food taste or quality. It was almost as good as it would have been in Mumbai. Good place for Vada Pav lovers.
One things is sure, the best vada pav in South Indian one can get. The price is very low and lots of variants is available to try, as a newcomer go for the simple one the best one.

Been a while since I visited this place. New bigger place, just next to where it was earlier. Went with my son for a quick snack. Our order – 5 vada pav, 1 misal pav, 1 extra pav, 2 Sabudana vada. Yummy, nothing worth complaining. The vadas could have been a bit hotter, but then, that’s how it is. Sometimes you get piping hot vadas from the kadai, sometimes it’s already made. Don’t get shocked by the numbers. They’re pretty small-sized, so just feels you ate too many
Serve typical Bombay-style vada pavs and dabeli. Good to grab a quick bite from and it is really light on the pocket as wallet.
No place to sit, you have to stand and eat, but doesn't matter since you're looking to grab a quick bite. Taste is very close to the original one.
I recommend the butter-roast vada pav over the special vada pav as the cheese in the vada pav should've been shredded instead of directly putting the slice.
I wouldn't recommend their Dabeli though, it's taste needs to be reworked, it is too sweet and has sabudana in it.
Overall, great find, am definitely going to become a regular there.
Try to reach asap, their stock easily gets over by 7:30 pm.
Tip: If you are looking for more tang, ask for more chutney and powder separately and mix them :D (and obviously don't forget the pickled green chilies)
Brilliant Vada Paav’s........
What started as a very small shop with nothing much than just Vada Paav, has now become quite a place with good amount of room for people to step in and place the order and eat comfortably.Though there is no tables or chairs for you to sit and eat,but you can consume your food peacefully standing inside their shop and one doesn’t look for such stuff when you are trying the quick bites.
They do have some variations and choice for Vada Paav and Dabheli. But simply the original Vada Paav is more than better and you don’t have to try too many variants if you don’t want to.
What I had was a Butter roast Vadpaav, ( Paav soaked in butter) Sabudhaana Vada ( Soft , Chewy and delicious ) and Dabheli with Vada. I have been a regular for past few years and it is wonderful to see the establishment growing and becoming a popular joint for great eat-out’s in Perungudi...
Have seen really good reviews about this place so have given it a try. Have visited around 9 and it was about to be closed.
Small place not that great ambiance, it's like a quick bite, eat and go. Dabeli was already finished so only vada pav was available. Vada pav was amazing in taste. It cost only 15 bucks for one piece. Highly reasonable price with good taste. Quite an authentic Mumbai style vada pav. Will love to visit again.
For long time was hunting for Misal Pao in Chennai.
Slightly off located for people based out of central Chennai but worth spending time.
A very small joint with not much space to sit but hygienic and well maintained. Owner and the staff are very cordial.
I had Vada Pao and Misal Pao.
Vada pao was good with that distinct Mumabi flavour though Vada was a bit small but costed only Rs.15...what can you expect more...
Also tried Misal Pao (Rs35 with 2 Pao)....Gravy was good....but dont expect that Sahuji Flavour.
Definitely worth giving a shot
Gaurav Vada Pav Centre in Perungudi has become my all time favorite vada pav centre after goli. They serve the classic Mumbai vada pav. Nothing new but the taste of the patty is very good! Whenever you reach there, they prepare the patty right in front of your eyes and you get served immediately. In that way, the vada pav will be hot and you can enjoy the crispness till you finish the entire vada pav. You are provided with a long chilli as usual. You can ask the centre workers for a little chilli like powder, which you can fill it in between for extra spiciness. I personally like this the best because of the price. It's very economical. Classic Vada Pav at only 15 bucks. Cheese vada pav at 25 bucks. Many other options like misaal vada pav are also available. I wish they could make some arrangements for seating of people and provide more space since it is always crowded.
Taste : 5/5
Experience : 3.5/5
Overall : 4/5
superb everything. vada pav is awesome!.....just in love with it.....i mostly go there ....its just love. the only opinion of mine is its not connected with delivery.i want home delivery and its not there. uf this could be done....it would be good.
Waahh waah waahh... Best vada pav i have tasted ever in chennai.. typical bombay style vada pav at really affordable price. 😍 Vada pav-15 spl cheese vada pav- 35 dabeli- 20 sabudina vada- 12 tea- 10 misal pav-35 bread bajji-35 and few more varieties in dabeli. Worth every penny spent😘😘😍 a must try place.
Total paisa vasool. Easy on pocket and great in taste. If you’re missing the Maharashtrian vada pav, this is the place to go. Don’t take your car there as you’ll not have any place to park. If you’re on a bike thr it would be probably easy to adjust. But worth eating here since the taste is authentic and the pav is exactly what it is like back home !
Excellent taste and very close to authentic Maharastrian Vada Pav. Certainly the best in Chennai.
Lasson powder chutney enhances the taste and mirchi adds the extra spice if one needs.
I travel 20 kms to have a bite of this. I give my Thumbs up.
Vada Pav lovers - here is one of the best in the city. Authentic Bombay vada Pav. There are so many varieties available including Dabeli. I used to travel to sowcarpet to have vada Pav but this shop is very close to my house and reproduces the same original taste of the Bombay vada Pav. I’ve been a regular visitor to the shop and Gaurav vada pav has never ceased to impress me.
The vada paws are really good! Although they have varieties of vada paws, but I always take the normal vada paw. They are just awesome. It’s a must visit place if you like vada paws!
This tiny shop is very close to SP infocity and I'm a regular here. The vada pavs are very good. Only drawback is that when you go after 6 you dont get ur vadas hot.
This place used to serve the best vadapav, sad that it is either closed for good or is no longer available in perungudi, no More vadapav in perungudi! 😐
This shop placed very near to SP infocity on MGR road. This is very very small outlet and quick service. But i visit almost 8.30pm nearly closing the shop, so my vada pav is not hot one, but really taste is nice. They only having 2 items like vada pav and dabeli. I tried vada pav only, dabeli was sold out.
Need to try atleast once # superb vada pav# customer friendly # No seating
Almost this shop closed before 8.30, so if u wanna good, hot and tasty vada pav means pls visit at evng time like 4 or 5 pm.
Really you enjoyed your food in this shop.
Vada Pav is outstanding. Can easily gulp down 3 to 4 in a single go. Sabudana vada needs some improvement it was too chewy also the misal pav was not that impressive.

This is the most genuine vada pav you can get in chennai ....I drive at least 10km everytime mg mumbaikar heart is craving for vadapav . Try their misal pav too though not the best but definitely worth a try.
It's a street shop and they provide tasty vada pav and that too just for 15 rs. Definitely visiting it if you are going through it's way😁 Don't expect a seating place as you need to eat while standing.
very economical and very tasty , gud valve for your money should go try once .
different varieties availble with superb taste
Superb Vadapav. Always tried to stop with 1 vadapav , but will end eating 3 or 4. Almost tried everything in the menu. I wonder how they'd make this much tastier vadapav. Mirchi is the highlight and vadapav must be taken with mirchi to enjoy its real taste. 😍😍
Awesome Vada pav taste, what we have in Pune and Mumbai.
serves with smile.
Serves different variety of Vadapav, Kachhi Dabeli, Sabudana wada, along with Misal Pav.
Location is also easily accessible.
He accepts bulk orders also.
In my office if any birthday celebration is there, I prefer Gaurav Vada pav.
Awesome food. Priced very well. Best reached in a 2 wheeler. Try everything you can get your hands on. Tastes better when had with Masala tea
Best vada Pav I have tasted in a very long time!
You cannot just stop with just one. I'm a regular customer there and My fav there is onion vada Pav. You gotta try once.
Very small tuck shop near SP infocity , taste of every item they serve like normal vada paav, cheese vada paav , daabeli etc is amazing , price is also very nominal.go and just try once.you will love it :-)
Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.Awesome vadapav.
This place has been on my bookmark list for a really long time. Never got the time to go to Perungudi. So finally when I did go near the locality, I spotted their outlet and tried their famous Vada Pav.
To be very honest, it's not the best vada pav I've had, even on OMR. I've had better ones but almost twice the cost at which these guys offer. So at INR 15, it's great value for your bucks. I think what is missing is that lingering taste that remains in your mouth once you finish a vada pav. That X-factor !!
Very very soft buns, had three different variety of vada pavs all of them were simply delicious and Dhabeli was outstanding. A must visit place
Such a welcome place in Chennai! Loved the vadapav so much. Aptly tasty and spicy. Pure Happiness.
You are transcended back to Maharashtra from Chennai straight with this delicacy
Taste:- 4.5/5
Variety:- 4/5
VFM:- 5/5
This is just a very small shop near SP info city. No dining facilities. You have to stand and eat. Till now i just had best and cheapest vadapav in chennai. Taste is just amazing.
We ordered Normal vadapav and onion vadapav.
Normal vadapav: One vada stuffed between Bun (Pav) with spicy masala powder and green chutney served with one green chilly. Priced at 15/- per piece only.
Onion vadapav: Only onion is stuffed along with normal vadapav.
Variety: Almost 10- 15 varieties of vadapav are there.
Value for money: you can't get cheaper than this. Best among rest.
I recommend you all to go and have at least once. Its just awesome.
My fav vada pav center near my office quite small shop with plenty of types of vada pav
Vada pav are made fresh n they serve it damn hot
Just loved the taste must try place if u work near taramani
After reading all the positive reviews , thought to visit this place today since it's very near to my work place . There is no place to sit and eat you have to stand and eat as like other road side shop. Coming to the vada pav, it's tastes good and spicy. It's damn hot and vada is so crispy. Had cheese vada pav and regular vada pav, both tasted good but bit dry.
A very good small shop to have nice & tasty vada pavs & bhajjis. you should visit this shop around late afternoon to have piping hot vadas & bhajjis.

This is a place is a must go if you're in and around this area anytime. They've got one of the best Vada Pav ever, it's so amazing that I forgot all of the sowcarpet ones and eat here everytime I'm here. The place is usually crowded by the IT people working in offices around the area.
Apparently Chennai's highly rated vada pav which is run by a Marathi family. A hole in a wall kinda place, with no seating available.
Went here around 5pm, the crowd was comparatively less.
Could try only their normal vada pav, as they were the only ones available due to the shortage of their staffs.
Will write a detailed review after trying out the others.
This shop serves one of the best Vada Pav in town. It's located in the IT Corriader of MGR salai and its a very small shop and hardly noticeable. This shop always crowded for its delicious vada pav. I believe he just operates for few hours in the evening. Its a very small shop where you have to stand outside the shop and have it. This shop serves 8 varities of vada pav (pics attached).
We had the regular Vada Pav with out any other flavours or combination. The pav he uses is very soft and goes well with Vada.
All combo of Vada Pav is served with fried Green Chilli spreaded with salt. He also serves few other quick snack like bread bajji.(Fried bread with sweet chutney and another mint flavoured one)
Cost for 4 plain vada pav( For two people) - Rs 60
100th review !!
As my training got over early today , first thing that came to mind was vada pav 😁
To Check this place out .
So quickly came here with my friend , and asked unknown person and the landmark she gave was the only shop were mostly IT professionals will be jam packed 😂
That was very true , it's right before sp Infotech and there were about 20 ppl standing infront of that small shop.
I reached by 5 , and got few vada pav and dhabeli .
This shop can easily be found and its maintained very cleanly that's the popularity of this outlet with only three members working .
What we ordered
1) two vada pav - crispy patti , mint chutney ,spl masala powder , inside soft bun .
Omg it might sound very simple , but it was so fresh and tasty , never ever tasted such yummiest vada pav in my life. Correct level of spiciness . just loved it
Got parcel for my mom
2) dhabeli - well, this is first time I heard such name , dhabeli , I really had no idea what will be filling until I tasted it , it had peanuts mixed with tomato and onion par cooked curry and it was so delicious , I had two of this and got parcel for my mom .
This place is example for " no business can be underrated if you do it correctly ."
Ambience - never mind you gotta only stand and eat
Parking - for two wheelers it's okay but four wheeler you might have to park somewhere far and walk
Food 4.5/5 😍
Working in OMR side, Gaurav Vada Pav is a very famous Vada Pav Joint. I have been a regular to this place. Their Bread Bajji is something I love the most. Vada Pav for 15 Rs is a steal. Its a decent fare and must try for peeps in the OMR area.
Very cheap and spicy Vada Pav
A lot of money can be earned even with a 3'x5' shop by simply doing what many aren't doing! ;) And not many are selling good Vada Pavs in South Chennai. So, here's where you got to be!
The Bread Bajji starter was good, with chutneys and sauces and it was an okay start. Then the Vada Pavs- Cheese Vada Pav and Special Cheese Vada Pav- the only difference being the onion and extra chutney! :P I prefer onions. Both the Vada Pavs were really good and spicy. All Vada Pavs are less than ₹30. So, enjoy as many as you want! :)
This place is near my work place and we use to go here sometimes for a quick bite on the way back home.
The normal vada pav is the best in the menu. The Dabeli was added later and now they have expanded the menu with the cheese, onion variety and is a cosmetic change to the menu.
The taste is good and is at par with the authentic vada pav taste. The shop is a small one and is not a dining facility. You buy and eat outside or can get it packed.
All in all a good place for the authentic vada pav taste. Cheap as well.
Located in one of the very main roads that connect Perungudi with Taramani where the IT companies have made it their home, this place bustles at certain timings (we've heard so) so we rushed around 4 to have their first batch and we were lucky.
I have had the most authentic kind of vada pav's those in Mumbai especially the one in ChurchGate station still is fresh in my memory and this doesn't come near to that in any way except for the price.
On saying so, that doesn't mean that this place is not good ..the vadas are good and crispy but little salty if you eat it without the pav.
I loved the normal vada pav and the dhabeli the others are pretty much just cosmetics for their menu!
Ambience: On the go type! The road is where you eat!
Service: 4ms @ max if they don't have any bulk order
Taste: Good, 4.2 existing rating is quite too much thou
One of the best Vada pavs in town.. This almost hidden and unassuming place turned out to be a gem of a beauty. Absolutely top notch and super sumptuous is the word to describe their hot, fresh and well spiced Vada pavs. Service is quick with no compromise on quality.. A perfect match to the best ones you get in West India. They're serve daabeli asked well which is equally good though Vada pav rules
I was really shocked to actually see such a hype rating for a very small shop ... But the moment I reached the shop I understood its value ... U could smell all the vada Pav and dabeli masala from the road ..!! 😍😍 but the shop was literally invisible .. It was THAT CROWDED ... I managed to struggle my way inside and had three take aways .. 1. Cheese vada pav - 4/5 and then 2. Dabeli Pav -4.5/5 and finally 3. Dabeli cheese vada Pav - 5/5 ..!! This is the only shop to my knowledge that serves u DABELI ..! And it's breath taking ..!! Do try it if u haven't ..!! 😊😜
GVC is an awesome little shop for all your pav-related cravings! Vada pav, Dhabelis and their (addictive) variations are served here. The vadapavs are great and the mirchi that comes with it, is what I usually go there for. The evening crowd in front of this shop is testimony of their awesomeness in itself! Saibal Roy
If you are from Pune and are on long tour to chennai. You will end up looking for a place which servers Wada paav and you can simply come to Gaurav and fulfill your craving.
Place serves authentic as well as fusion of Wada Pav and with clean and hygienic outfit.
You cannot get more authentic vada pav than the ones found here. Taste and quality wise they are just spot on. Don't mistake the tiny little shop. There is hidden loads of flavor inside this tiny joint on MGR SALAI. The hub for all IT and other office going crowd.
Have had only vada pav here. Look forward try other varieties too.
If you are a die hard fan of vada pav, this is the place to be in Chennai! Its super tiny place in MG road, Kandanchavadi. The vada pav here tastes outta the world! The salted green chilli fried in ghee that accompanies the vada pav is to die for!! Other than vada pav, dhabeli, cheese vada paav, cheese dhabeli and bread bhajji are sold here. All of these are equally amazing in taste! The pricing is nominal and total value of money.
The Vada Pav from this place, lived up to all the expectations that I had built around it, because of the rave reviews. The Pav is small in size compared to what you normally see in other places. But, that's not a big thing as the taste compensates everything. Absolutely Yummy! My personal favourite is the Cheese Vada Pav.
Price: INR 15 for Vada Pav and INR 25 for Cheese Vada Pav
Ambiance - N/A (just a small takeaway )

Heard a lot about this place and became so desperate that I cycled alone for 4kms just for a vada pav. Had some difficulty in locating this place.
Nothing to say about the parking space, dining area, ambiance, or the waiters.. Bcoz it has none of these. It is just a room with couple of ppl cooking the vada and one guy serving the vada. But who needs all that when they serve the best Vada Pav in the city. The vada pavs are freshly prepared and served and just for Rs.15. They also make bread bajjis which is also good.
Went to taste vada pav last saturday, its half a km walk from the thiruvanmiyur bus stop, the shop is little difficult to locate , high chances are there to miss it if you don't have Google map along with you. We reached there by 8pm,there was nothing left except the plain vadapav, which tasted really good..hop next time will get to taste the other types, definitely a must visit for chennaites..
Place is super clean...esp his utensils....fantastic tasting Vada Pav at an affordable rate. What else anybody wants? N jus imagine the fried mirchi...what a combi...one shud not miss this place at all
Recently have been flooded with good comments about this place and hence decided to try it out on a evening. Sometimes you wonder why you don't have good food outlets in perungundi considering bustling offices and Gaurav vada pav is a tick in the box for evening snacks. They offer different vada pavs - plain, cheese, butter onion etc. All of them tastes good especially plain ones

A quick munching on a vada pav and then Grabbed a quick take away from here,
Been hearing too much about this place in the recent times!
This place is near the infocity, next to B&B.A small north chaat shop!
Thought it was a shame to have not been here yet despite staying nearby!
So headed out to the place to taste,
#cheese vada pav-A good one.Hot serve made it more yum with all the stuffed onions!Could have been more cheesy though.
#cheese deabeli vada pav and dabeli vada pav- Couldn't differentiate much. But both tasted great!
#spcl vada pav-Was served hot.The vada inside was outstanding.
Will be a reg for a while :)
Cheers and happy eating!
Great vada pav's at a very pocket friendly pricing. A very small outlet which you can always find crowded.
They provide their Vada Pav's very quick and hot. Taste is very good. try this place if you cross MGR saalai perungudi.

It is a very great place for having quick snack in the evenings. Very good vada pavs and Dabeli. O forgot the chili they give with. unbelieveable. But its not advisable to have more than 2 if your stomach is pretty sensitive. Although the exhaust should be facing the right direction.
Visited again today. loved the new menu! The Cheese Dabeli is as good as the one I had in Pune.
Ordered Vada Pav, Which was hot and very crispy Vada, the special powder gave the pav a nice kick and I never thought a tiny mirchi could give such a nice kick to the Vada Pav.
I'm not sure if there were any other varieties, no board as well stating so.
Vada Pav was priced at 15/.
Definitely VFM.
Their bread bajji is out of the world. The vadapavd are good too, but it's the bread bajjis you shouldn't miss. Fair warning: they are a little spicey.
Great place to have authentic Vada Pav in Chennai. They try bringing in variations to their menu. Sometimes they have Daveli and sometimes bread bajji. All in all great value for money.
Owners are very friendly as well.
Had 3 vada pavs and a bread bajji. They are real quick to serve. It's just one taste in vada pav and no other variations are offered. I didn't like bread bajji when compared to the vada pav. It could be good if the vada pav is served a bit hot. They have placed an exhaust fan which blows hot air straight on face which makes everyone group on the same side of platform. They are however sensible to place a water can.
My rating is based on the taste only. After the hype in fb pages want to try vada pav here. The place is very small with with only one chair to sit ,best for takeaway. The taste is verry superrr and spicy. They have spread chilly flavoured powder with the green chutney and then the vada with good potato filling, with the vada pav the green chilli suits very well
The pav is fresh and tasty. The chutney is spicy and tastes good. Highly recommended for a quick bite in the evenings. Best combo would be with a cup of tea.
Ratings based only on taste.....
Located in MGR in perungudi....Gaurav vada Pav was in my wishlist for a very long time...though my sister lives nearby i have never got a real chance to visit the place...but last week when i was there to pick my sister..i made sure i visited the place....The reason being the almost authentic vada pavs(as suggested my friends)..though am a fan of vada pavs i have never had a taste of authentic mumbai vada pavs...and when many claimed this to be authentic i made up my mind to try it for sure...
Around 200 mts from the Hi-style junction on the MGR road...opposite to the easily visible five star chicken outlet..A very small hole-in-a-wall kinda outlet with no parking and no dining space...you either have a take away or eat on the street like many other people if you are comfortable with it...the place is well maintained and clean...
The family who run the outlet are kind and courteous and also process the order in a very quick time....in evenings you will have a tough time as the place fills up pretty quick..no place to even stand and eat...i can see the vada pavs were selling like anything...in the 15 odd mins i was there i could see 50+ pieces to be sold...
The vada pav was just awesome...soft fluffy pav coated with chilli paste and pudina paste....the vada hot and crispy....wherever i have had the vada pavs earlier had the soft bonda types...this is the first crispy vada i have had...definitely a must try according to me in chennai.....priced at 15rs i am sure to try them again when i get a chance....
P.S : The pavs are best had here...the vadas tend to get soft after packing and doesnt give such a good taste as having here....
Wanted to try this place and went on a Sunday and found it was closed. It's written in Zomato that it's open all days. Pls give correct info...
Best vadapavs one can get in Chennai. Of course, it does not match the vadapavs you get in the streets of Mumbai. But this is the closest you can get here. I think, this little shop is run by a Marathi family.
This one's a hole in the wall shop right outside my place of work and hence one I visit quite frequently. There are a lot of these small, cheap eating options around this area and everyone of them packed in the evenings.
The young family that runs this place is warm and friendly greeting almost everyone with a smile. They serve the best vada pav I've had in chennai and beats gangotree's hands down. The salted, pickled chili they serve with it is a nice addition. They also make a pretty good bread bajji that's super crunchy and tasty. I hear they make vegetable biryani now too but yet to try that.
The place is surprisingly clean for a roadside eatery - kudos for keeping it that way. They have a water cooler when the vada pav gets too spicy - really thoughtful. Small things!
All in all perfect for a quick bite to fight those end of the day hunger pangs until dinner.
Not an authentic vada pav, but the flavors are authentic and it will take you to Mumbai. Only thing is they make their vada smaller and flat...that means less potato....i.e. fewer calories from one vada pav....even better
Gaurav and his family is super friendly and woulld rate it as one of the best vada pavs in chennai...or atleast in south chennai.
15 rs/vada pav....try it!
Another mouth watering small snack shop ... I am working in SP info city so it's just few steps away from my office
If you desire to have Vada pav in chennai the only place I would suggest is not taj not the park or some high class restaurant it's gaurav vada pav
Damn I don't know how he managed to make it taste so good but it's just bliss dabeli is also available over there it is sumptuous
Take a break from office come here have vada pav and chill it's heavenly
Vada Pav: Best in the neighbourhood. So authentic taste that, no one eat just one! Specially the pav which they use is NOT the usual sweet one which is used in most of the shops in chennai. They also serve slp veg biriyani.... Did not get a chance to try that though. Will post my review abt it wen i get to visit again.
Location: This place is little hard to find as its tucked inside. The map shows it next to RMZ millennia but its before SP Infocity if ur coming from OMR. The best landmark is the sticker/graphics (vehicle license plate designing) shop ryte next to it.
I loved the vada pav here. Being a Maharashtrian in Chennai, this place is closest I can feel to home.
I'd have given them all 5 if this place was a lil bit bigger and had Misal Pav in their menu.
Must try: Vada Pav, Cheese Vada Pav, Onion Vada Pav, Dabeli, Sabudana Vada
Authentic MisalPav with tari is available in Chennai. They serve good maharastrian food. One can get vada pav, sabudana vada here
Still the same vada pav which I remember having in the same shop 4-5 years ago. The shop is moved to th current place from the main lane.
Worth every penny.
Dabeli and Vada pav (normal) must try.
Located in perungudi the Gaurav vada Pav Center was on my wishlist for a very long time... Though my sister lives nearby i have never got a real chance to visit the place... But last week when i was there to pick my sister i made sure to visit the place.... The reason being the almost authentic vada pavs(as suggested my friends).. Though am a fan of vada pavs i have never had a taste of authentic mumbai vada pavs... And when many claimed this to be authentic i made up my mind to try it for sure...
Service was quick and prompt.. On busy evenings it might take time though
The vada pav was just awesome... Soft fluffy pav coated with chilli paste and pudina paste.... The vada hot and crispy.... Wherever i have had the vada pavs earlier had the soft bonda types... This is the first crispy vada i have had...definitely a must try according to me in chennai..... Priced at 25rs i am sure to try them again when i get a chance....
P.S : The pavs are best had here...the vadas tend to get soft after packing and doesnt give such a good taste as having here....
Try their Vada pav, worth it!.
I've been eating their Vada pav for almost 8 years and they still taste the same and the taste is amazing.
It's a small shop where you go to buy a hot af vada pav and eat with your buds on the street .
The vadapav here is one of the most delicious.
Simply wow, anyone searching for dutta or joshi vada wale vada pao in chennai, this is the closest I have tasted to it, and trust me have nearly tried about 50 different vada pavs from various so called vada pav shops.
Taste of Mumbai Vada paav found in Chennai.
Hot and fresh served.
Marathi, Hindi and Tamil languages service was very nice.
Good Vada pav and sabudana Vada.. Price is less... Service is good
But nearby a tea shop so people will be always smoking...
The best vada pavs and the only place where it's made right then n there and not like the frozen ones you get across Chennai. The cook is a Maharashtrian lady who makes the most crunchy vada pavs in this part of the world.
1. Clean and good.
2. Friendly and quick
3. Mostly women employees work here.
4. Cost is average
5. Eat or take away available.
6. Menu item and price attached here.
Discovered by chance on 3-1-2023. And writing review on 4-1-2023. Amazing vada pav. I am a Bombayite and definitely the taste matches the ones available there. Misal pav is on my wish list. I would have tried sabudana kichadi , but its not made it seems. Will visit regularly, as I am in Prince Office..The family is from Ratnagiri it seems.
Uncle and daughter duo is completely rocking here with mumbaikar items.
Vadapav test is at best in Chennai for sure
A must visit place for vadapav cravings
Just available near to global info city and rmz it parks.
Dabeli is not recommended as being gujju I can say it as I had many authentic ones but can be better for sure
Came all the way from Mylapore to taste the authentic Mumbaicha VadaPav... Tasted great with garlic and green chutney....loved it. Go too place if you want the exact taste of Mumbai VadaPav.
Vada pav taste good 20 rs ordinary vada pav, cheese vada pav 30 and other related food items are been served here . Prices are ok . It is in mgr road in perungudi.
