The place can be found so easily! We can always rely on this restaurant. I loved the appam varieties.

I've been to this place a couple of times and everytime with my friends. This place has got a good ambience, but a bit suffocating. Coming to the dishes, I've tried chicken Cheema aapam, chicken and veg fried rice, hot gulab jamun, kadai chicken, tutti frutti ice cream, juices, butter naan. Everything were equally good. But the only thing I felt is that the quantity is a little bit less. I haven't been there after the GST blues so doesn't know much about the price now. Staffs were friendly but the service was a bit slow. VFM - 3.8
On the main road easy to identify. Parking will be a problem sometimes. Decent food. Service is ok. ambience is ok. Their cashew appam is very nice. People who love sweet would love it. Other dishes are pretty decent.
I have been to this place twice. Must try is there cashew appam it was yummy with coconut milk. People who love sweets would love it .. veg starters were ok.. price is reasonable.
I was going that way, it's dinner time, looking for good place to have some light food, saw this place, decided to go for it. Never know that this place has space for parking car till today. This place is easy to locate. Exactly at Vadapalani signal.
Ambiance is simple and good. Have lot of seating to accommodate many. Fish tank, flowing water add beauty to this place. Service is quick and good. Ordered Appam, Chettinad gravy and raitha combo. All are good. Price is reasonable. Value for money.

Yesterday night we family had a nice food experience at Simran Aappa kadai, Vadapalani outlet, Ā Aappam, Egg Masala Aappam, Egg Aappam, Chicken Keema Aappam like that various types of Aappam is there, especially Egg Masala Aappam was so yummy and their combination pepper Chicken's Aroma of pepper finger licking. Ceylon chiken parotta was great in smooth and taste. Service side they have to improve little bit. overall can give 4.0 Ratings. was nice Experience.

Located on the junction of the vadapalani signal on the side of forum vijaya mall..Simran's Aapa Kadai has been on my radar for a long time now...thanks to my love of Aapams...but have not been able look beyond Nalaas for the same but after a not so good experience at the Nalaas inside the forum vijaya mall i thought of giving this place a try...
The Restaurant is easily visible with a pretty small frontage though...the parking can accommodate 3 cars at the max which is not sufficient to this place...have no idea about the valet...The dining area has been divided in middle with a glass wall which has water flowing on it...this gives a pretty good look for the restaurant...Can seat around 50 ppl easily and has a live aapam counter at the very end...The place is bit stuffy and the cooling is on the lesser side...
The service is a mixed bag..the captains are a bit slow in taking orders and they took a huge amount of time to serve me water too..had to ask them couple of times for the same...this was after i had placed my order too..the waiters are kind and polite and quick in service too..
Ordered a Aapam and Chicken Chettinad combo also added a chicken Kheema aapam with it...The combo comes with couple of aapams which were really good...soft and fluffy with a crispy side too...The Chicken chettinad gravy was really yummy...Spicy and tangy with pretty good taste...the chicken pieces that came along with it were solid too..fresh and well cooked...The Chicken Kheema aapam was more egg and less chicken..but taste wise this was really good too...
Total came to 250 after taxes and tips and it was money well spent...service though needs to be improved a bit
As the name suggests, try only Aapam here. All other dishes are available but not upto the mark. Those who love Aapam, can come here and have a variety of aapams. Especially with coconut milk it's delicious and for those who likes spicy can try with any non veg gravies.
grill chicken was good but, mayonnaise was not nice. mayonnaise spoiled that grill chicken totally. i had bull's eye aappam and mutton keema aappam with mutton varutha curry. mutton varutha curry was awesome. my suggestion is don't try grill chicken here try only aappam.

I order from here regularly for home deliveries. The taste is superb. A TREAT FOR NON VEGETARIANS. The CHILLI PRAWNS deserves a special mention and they are a must try here. Service is also excelllent.
Ordered Veg hot and Sour soup and chilli baby corn for starters and Aapam with Kadala curry and Spicy garlic curry for main course.
Nothing can beat their aapam and Kadala curry combo. It was the best. The others were just ordinary.
A must try for all aapam lovers.
Okay for the starts this review is coming from an true appam lover, meaning there isnt much places left where i havent tried the appams
And this place had amazing appams!!
Ended up here after a decision of having a light dinner (diet timeš) and i ended up having 4 appams
They have a decent varieties of appam and gravy but we went for the classic appam and coconut milk
Chicken kheema and chettinad chicken gravy.
Few headsup:
When they tell the gravy is spicy - it is spicy- a field day for spicy food lovers
And if your not a coconut milk fan - you will be totally proved wrong here - the best milk garunteed - after my multiple failed attempt in recreating it .
This place is in the heart of vadapalani traffic so finding a spot for parking is a nightmare
And ambience 3/5
And kept all that aside , the food is hatsoffāŗļø
Been there many times. Good place for aapam as named. Tried chicken keema aapam and egg aapam which was great to taste. Mutton briyani was ok for the rate. overall a good place for lunch or dinner with family. parking is bit difficult for 4 wheeler as it is situated in the main road (100 feet road). 2 wheeler is preferable.
Just love their Appams. Ambiance is good and well maintained. The service was also okay.Ā
As it in the Vadapalani Signal which is usually crowded, parking can be little chaotic.
Don't like the taste of the gravy much coz of high coconut content. Else the aapam was soft and tasty. Service was not that great. Again this was my personal experience.

Location & Parking: After a movie at Palazzo (Vijaya Forum Mall), I was hunting for some dinner place outside the mall as food seemed expensive inside a mall. Just to cut down the money I were looking for options near to the mall and this was the closest one. Near the junction of vadapalani is the restaurant with parking space.
Ambience: Ok. Well spread out and neat dining space. Donāt come here looking out for ambience.
Taste & Variety: Good. Though the varieties range from Chinese to North Indian to South Indian, the major food item to look out for is Aappam. The aappam combos sounded exciting. So for a late dinner we stuck to the Aappam (wasnāt really sure about trying anything else). The classic combo of Aappam with Coconut Milk and the veg combo (2 aappam + veg chettinad + raitha). The aappam was good and the veg chettinad gravy was mediocre.
Quality & Quantity: Ok. Though a simple delicacy isnāt easy to make at home always so their food quality and commitment to serve aappam, which is steaming hot is commendable. But quantity wise I find it less seeing the price they quote.
Service: Good. No complaints here. They did warn us about the wait time for aappam but having two extra hands would reduce the wait time. It was one person rolling out the aappam on the day we visited.
Pricing: Average. For the type of food they serve it seems like paying huge money but itās reasonable (neither cheap nor expensive). Paid Rs.208 (excluding tax) for the order. But remember two aappam wouldnāt be sufficient for anyone until you arenāt hungry!
Simranās Aappa Kadai, if you are around the locality try them out. A decent place.
It was a team outing along with the staff. It was good restaurant who serve regional food, its not so spacious but can accommodate quite good no of people. The food are little bit spicy. There appam was very good. We had it along with mutton sukka and chettinnad chicken. We tried many other things as well. But the best part is the live appam counter.
People who loves spicy food can try this.
This restaurant placed in main area of vadapalani and very near to forum mall. And today I am so hungry and I entered into in this restaurant and I ordered non veg meal, more importantly the food is moderate. And I asked for water when I need, but they bring after 15min. I am just so angry on that. One manager is not listening what I am saying, I called him thrice then nly he listen.
But I loved another manager he is very frank and he is smilee face, when I entered the restaurant he warmly welcomed me. I am just relaxed when he smiled. He spoke very nice to me, I loved him.but I dont know his name.

After a shopping from Forum Mall, myself and my roommate had got parcel from Simran's Aappa Kadai for lunch. We ordered 1 Chinese Chicken Combo and 1 Non.Veg Special Meal on Banana Leaf. The Chinese Chicken Combo had Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken gravy and some pieces of chicken dry fry. The combo was tasting good with typical Chinese flavor. Then, the Non.Veg Special Meal had lots of items in it. Along with plenty of rice, they had provided chicken curry, plain fish curry, fish fry, rasam, koottu, poriyal, thuvaiyal, curd, butter milk, chappathi, pappad, pickle and sweet. The meal was just superb with all the items having good taste.
Had a huge carving for appam and chicken before I visited here as I was in Chennai for some time and had a overdose of veg food. Was a good place to be and light on the pocket too.
Last day I ordered lunch via foodpanda and I got 30%off as well.. And the food is really TASTY... and Superbb.. Awaiting to have food from Simrans Appakadai again.. Rating 5 from my end
Located near Forum vijaya mall, experience wide range of appams in vegetarian and non veg š Tasted egg appam with attukal paya.. Superb taste š Need to improve customer service and a brand image

It's really surprising that this place it rated low on zomato o.o but anyways I had a fantastic time when I went there. The place is right in the heart of Vadapalani which is bustling and it's a pain to park there during rush hour ( which is most of the time ). The ambience is what I expected , not too great but just alright. The menu offers a wide variety of aapams ranging from the plain aapam to the bullseye aapam to the chicken Kheema aapam. The service is prompt and decent. The interesting thing is that you can watch the chef making the aapams which is a treat to watch. Coming to the food, my foodie grandmother had ordered two bullseye aapams , two plain aapams and some kadala curry and I had ordered two plain aapams, two Kheema aapams and a chicken curry. My grandmother relished her aapams and told me that her bullseye aapams were amazing . Meanwhile the plain aapams which I had were fluffy, soft and light and were airy just what I had expected of an aapam. The Kheema aapam was well made, decently spiced and tasty too. The chicken curry was no great shakes but went very well with the plain aapams . The pricing is really good for these items it came between ā¹500-600 which I thought was not bad considering the food they'd served. On the whole a hearty meal which have me a good night's sleep.
Background:
Am quite surprised they have such a low zomato score. Been here twice, with gap between the visits being five years or more. Both times I liked the food and I personally believe they serve better aapam than some of other popular joints.
Ambience (3/5)
Modest ambience, but fits the price band they operate in. The restaurant however has a dull and un-inviting look - which may be a out off for customers who haven't visited/had good experiences here.
Pricing (3/5)
Reasonable. Three aapam (2 egg based and 1 chicken) , 1 parota and an egg curry cost around INR 350.
Though the egg curry portion seemed to be on the lower side- it was sufficient for the mains we ordered.
Service
The aapam are made fresh on ordering and takes a while to be served. No other concerns about their service.
Food
Good quality aapam and decent parota. The egg curry is made chettinad style and combined well with the aapam and parota.
The chicken kheema aapam is slightly dry and our best order was the bullseye aapam.

The fact that we ate so much (4 of us had 20aapams, 2tandoori roti, 3 gravies ) after coming almost full just grab a bite, tells how good this place is.
From the hot aapams to the tasty kadalakari to the unbelievable kadai vegetables the place is awesome. My friend said their chettinad chicken was brilliant as well.
The only downside that day was the tandoori platter which was bad.
Bottom line - Brilliant food @ not too bad a price

This place offers a very good variety of non vegetarian items. They do serve delicious sea food items.
Usually most non-vegetarian restaurants falter in serving decent vegetarian food but with Simrans that is not the case. They do justice to the Veg items as well.
This place is perennially full so one needs to be patient. The service can get a little slow sometimes but once the food is at your table you will leave from there with a full tummy and a happy face !

I loved the place and the food ! If u r a the love for Appam you will love the place ! Bulls eye taste so good here ! Checked in with my bestie once ! And turned out to be one of my most favourite place ! Go simran š
Aapams come at a decent price and appreciable taste. Choice of menu is also cool. Location of this place makes parking hard. Desserts are also satisfactory.
It's pretty descent hotel in vadapalani.. It scores because of its location.. But no great decor or uniqueness. Looks wise very very normal.. Service is medium..
But food tastes so good.. Has more items.. This hotel s good for sudden plans and food.. If you wish to enjoy and spend some good times, then sorry it's wrong place..
Ambience - well can't comment, coz I am their home eater

Yum yum yum ... Every time mom and dad come down, v hv da habit of enjoying a dinner from Simran's Aappa Kadai. Never being to this place ... But I hv tried all their kothus and gravies ... This can b attributed to their timely n professional home delivery option :)
Ordered a #ceylonChickenParotta #ChickenKottuParotta #EggKothuParotta #PannerTikkaMasala #DryChickenLollipop ... Each of these dishes had a characteristic taste and amazing smell ... Even as the delivery guy stopped by, I couldn't wait to get my hands into that yummy chicken kothu parotta !!!! Guys, they do a good Job with the chicken, veggies and spices. The characteristic taste of this dish cannot be enjoyed anywhere else...
#PaneerTikkaMasala was thick and scrumptious ... It had huge chunks of paneer with roasted sides... Sound nice right? And, trust me, it tastes good too .. It makes a great combo for Rotis like #ButterNaan.
#EggKothuParotta was v green !! The dish was loaded with curry leaves and eggs. If you like authentic egg based dishes, this might be right for you :)
And, the place serves conventional desserts like galub jamun and ice cream. So, if you are at Simran's Aappa Kadai, you should aim at their #Appams and #Parottas (my favorite) .....

Great place to eat but please sort out the parking as it is an extremely congested road with so many vehicles going about. A different experience over some appam's would never hurt.
Tasty dishes..... Particularly when I'm damn hungry..... Took my friend who is need to Chennai.... He to loved the food.... Had stomach full...
Decent place for lunch. Romantic enough for a date. Quiet and less crowded. You have a live kitchen to your view. Food is decent and you get exhaustive varieties of appams. Service is quick and comforting. A bit pricey though
Went to simran appa kadai first time. Restaurant was good. Ordered appam Combo, chicken kheema appam and tandoori chicken all food were good and hot. Good place to hang out appam was very good with coconut milk.
This restaurant is right at Vadapalani Signal in 100 Feet Road. This provide food with decent taste and quality. Ambience is good with few designs on its walls. I have tasted Veg Clear Soup, Appams, Butter Naans, Side Dishes here.
PROS :
* Quality of food provided.
* Ambience.
* Appam.
CONS:
* Can improve the taste in side dishes.
* Less cooperation in serving.
* Long wait to place the order.
* Slightly noisy.
A decent restaurant with slightly high price to the food they provide.
Exceptional food, served rather quickly, and quite hospitable staff.
Biryani was one of the best I've tasted. Wish prices were a bit lower though.
Yeahh!
I Love Their Appam With Cheese And Cashew.. It's Really Nice! :D
You Guys Should Try It.. And Their Mutton Sukka Was Also Good.. Just The Quantity Is Less, Buy Satisfying For The Taste! :D
Types Of Appams There Are Really Cool!Ā
A Must Go Restaurant In Vadapalani ;)
I have been here quite a few times but have never returned home disappointed.
The appams they serve are too good to miss out and they also make up with their other dishes which can't be termed bad. The interiors are good and well maintained.
The biggest problem of this restaurant is getting a parking lot as it is located exactly at the Vadapalani signal junction.
Reasonable Prices, Good quality of food, Been there so many times worth having food here
Tasty.... Reminds me of my MUM'S aapa kadai @home .....????

Restaurant is located at the busiest location. Car parking can be a problem. Ambience is good. Food is decent.egg appam is worth trying..yummy.
Every time I ask my mum if we could go out for dinner, she very promptly replies āYes! Letās go to Simranās Aapa Kadai!ā There is no thinking twice! Though it is a very average looking restaurant and their service is very laidback, food is what matters! My parents & I love their aapams, that tastes great with most of the sides from the menu.
So, this time when we were there for a simple meal on a weekend night, we ordered the Mutton Paya, Coconut Milk & Fish in Basil sauce (strongly recommended by the staff who attended our table) as sides for the varied aapams we chose from the menu - plain, egg masala, bull's eye, mutton kheema & chicken kheema. First came the sides, and I was quite skeptical about how the very south indian aapam would get along with the indo-chinese styled fish in basil sauceā¦.but, honestly, this combination was better than the aapam with coconut milk or mutton paya! So great that we had a repeat of it!
If you love aapams, this place is for you. For reasons unknown, I prefer SAK to NAK (Nalas) anyday. Agreed, their service is not too professional, and you have to wait for your orders⦠but, food is great, nevertheless!
We visited this place around 11.30 pm, it's their closing time but they welcome nicely and take orders what we want. Service is very nice. I ordered Aapam with Chettinad Chicken curry. It's awesome. Aapam melted in our tung's. We enjoyed the late night meal...,,ššš

As far as my experience is concerned, its good. As I find bad reviews here, It seemed to be bad but surprisingly, it turned out to be good. You'll be satisfied, but you cant get a top notch experience here.
Food was nice...though I had only veg meals...the response of the waiters can be made better...
All dishes are very nice and Good service.. I loved it....
