We had a fantastic family celebration at Absolute barbecues. The food ranges from ‘meh’ to ‘yumm’ but the staff has been consistently outstanding. For this reason, it is easy to overlook a few items that don’t quite hit the mark on the taste meter.
Arpan was the main person manning our table and he was excellent in dealing with our group. He went out of his way to ensure our requests were catered and was calm, polite and good natured when there was a minor misunderstanding about drinks. We were happy to tip him for his service but he refused citing “if you are happy consider me tipped”
There was also a chef ( sorry I forgot the name) who took on the responsibility of addressing an offhand comment my husband made about lack of bread in the bread Brinji rice. Although we assured him that it was not necessary, he personally delivered freshly prepared veg fried rice to our table. It is so great to see the staff valuing customers like this.
Food wise, starters are the stars in this establishment.
There was enough variety to satiate my family’s fussy palette. No complaints here.
Good array of desserts but there is room for improvement.
There was a white rice payasam in the refrigerated dessert section which seemed stale and tasted weird. There was another dark rice payasam adjacent to hot jalebis which tasted fresh but did not hit the right notes.
Jalebis although colored orange instead of gold and fried thicker than normal tasted perfect.
We never got to try the paniyarams but Panipuri and idiappam from the live counters were good. There was a paneer item in chettinad gravy which was excellent as well.
In the buffet area, noteworthy items were the chili garlic noodles, veg fried rice and lemon-cilantro rasam/soup.
Paneer gravy was good but the paneer itself was very chewy. Kaju kofta was bland and worth a miss. Thai curry was ok but not close to authentic Thai curry.
Service is very good.bikash is very friendly and provided good service

Overall food was aweosme and satisfying.. the sever Aslam was very kind and responded well to all our orders.. Happy and we will visit again.Cheers!
