Loved the bibimbap and the honey limon tea. Definitely do try the apple strudel tea! The red bean doughnut and custard bun are amazing as well. Friendly service and polite staff as well. The prices may seem high, but it's definitely worth it. I'd definitely go here again.
The ambience was lovely and I personally loved the food here, but I would prefer if they could start taking up on delivery orders soon! The cakes were beautiful to look at, the decorations are splendid and innovative on each and every cake. The different buns and breads have a unique taste and I really loved the crossiant with sausages.
The toughest part is deciding on what to eat and where to eat 🙈 My friend and I were on the lookout for a place to eat and started craving for Ramen and ended up googling places that serves the best ramen in the city and found this place Ambrosia 😀
My friend and I visited this beautiful place that serves Korean and Japanese food. The place looks simple , elegant and calm.
We ended up ordering Ramen and Bibimbap and oh my both of us enjoyed our meal like never before. I fell in love with the chicken ramen. It was just perfect, with good quantity of meat in it definitely VFM. My friend on the other hand was going Gaga about the chicken Bibimbap.
At the end our plates were super clean😅 We loved the food so much that it ended up becoming finger licking good.
If you love Korean food or is someone who is on the lookout for Korean or Japanese food you should visit this place for sure.
I am definitely coming back to try their bakery items and others dishes from the menu. The quantity and quality is very satisfying when you pay your bill. The service was also pretty quick.

Wanna try some Janpanese/Korean food? Then head over to Ambrosia for some authentic delicacies.
Ambrosia is a Korean-Japanese bakery serving some authentic delicacies. If you are a bread lover, then this is one of the must visit places.
They have different types of bread with all sorts of fillings, both sweet and savoury as well as veg and non veg. They also have matcha drinks and other cakes and pastries.
We tried a couple of breads with different fillings and also the matcha milkshake and some coffee. We also tried the honey cake which is one of their specialities. Although i must warn you that it a really sweet dish.
Overall the food is nice. Nothing much about the ambience as it is more of a take away place and has less seating area. They have self service where you grab a tray and pick up what you like from the center area where all the items are placed, wrapped individually in plastic covering. You then proceed to the counter with the tray and pay for it.
Yummy food... love it to the core
Happy that i found this place
Mind blowing amazing delicious food
i will recommend Ambrosia to all SE Asian food lovers
I go here atleast once a month.Would love to visit more but I am afraid all that bread will get me bigger than I already am.
The place has great bread and an awesome variety of buns with really yummy fillings. A small quaint place with a beautiful arrangement. Only con is it has only like 3 tables if you want to indulge yourself there.I usually just buy my buns and stuff myself at home.😅❤❤
The best Asian bakery/cafe that I've been to in Chennai! I love matcha anything, and was euphoric to find out that they have matcha drinks and eats here at Ambrosia.
Ambrosia has a selection of absolutely heavenly treats on offer. You get to load up a tray with your favorite selection and pay at the register.
I've missed traditional Mexican coffee buns (that you get at Rotiboy, Malaysia) and Taiwanese "jiggly" cheesecakes. Naturally, I got both. They're ridiculously cheap considering how authentic and good they are. I downed my sweet treats with a matcha latte.
Will I go again? You bet!
P.S. Hokkaido, the Japanese restaurant, is right next door :)
Lovely place for a quick bite. Love the matcha tea and most of the buns and breads here. The red bean paste bun is especially delicious. The Earl Grey cookies are amazing as well. Definitely a place to keep going back to!
A very pleasant experience.
Nice ambience.
Coffee bun and custard bun were very very tasty. Breads and buns have a lot of variety and is very tastefully made.
The set up of the place is nice, the food can be picked up in a tray and can be billed.
Visit this place if you are in a mood for some light desserts.
The ambience is warm and friendly. I went alone and had a strawberry roll cake and a hot dog. The roll cake was beautifully light and pillowy-soft. In true japanese/korean fashion, the bun was slightly sweeter than what one might prefer with an Indian palate. Nevertheless the tastes balanced out and it was pretty good too. I'll definitely be visiting again because I think this is one of the better places in the city for no-frills coffee and fresh baked goods.
Would definitely rate them as one of the best in this region. The delivery was done within the next few mins and absolutely Loved the ambience 💖 Malini Naresh
Try the butter bread here. It's super yummy. All the breads here are very soft and great. I have tried the chocolate muffins and that was great too. They have given us complementary back berry velvet cake and it's delicious. I highly recommend this place for anyone who would like to have official or friendly conversations and have great coffee with super delicious breads
Ambience is awesome
Service was good the staff was able to explain the food items which were unknown to me.
We had strawberry roll cake which just melted in your mouth with the right amount of sugar and freshcrea m. It's a must try cake.
Cinnamon twist was good to taste.
Ambience: 4.5/5
Food: 5/5
Service:5.5/5
This is a nice little cozy cafe with some really good coffee and yummy pastries and bread. Ideal for quick meetings with friends/colleagues. The ambience is very pleasing and inviting. The staff here are very friendly and their service just made the experience so much more satisfying.
My favourites: Red velvet cupcake, cheese garlic bread, peach yoghurt smoothie.
P.S: This place has very limited parking space.
Decent place for bread lovers but is slightly on the higher side in terms of pricing, one blackforest birthday cake costed me close to 2k... It has a very good variety of breads and non alcoholic beverages. It specializes in some Korean varieties of bread and sauces. Is a good option to visit for a cup of coffee if you want a change from the normal Starbucks and coffee day and don't mind spending a little higher..
Its a very small and cosy place...you could go there for a good cup of coffee or tea and have some pastries! We had sandwiches which tasted good and they had other pastries on display. .a quiet place for a quick meeting with your friend..this would be ideal!
The fact that this place is a Korean and Japanese bakery simply attracted me to this place! Parking a few cars is possible. We picked up soboro bread, a shake and tofu snacks. The tofu snacks was an instant hit, very crisp and lite. The soboro bread had a slightly hard crust and soft on the inside with a slight sweet taste. The shake was too cold for me to taste anything! They do not have much options for the pure vegetarians because 99% of their products have egg in them. A self service place which I found over priced, probably because Korean bakeries are not a common site in Chennai.

Location & Ambience: Recently I have put myself on a mission to find out good bakeries around Chennai that serves fresh and preservatives free baked goodies; and when I came across Ambrosia I did bookmark the place immediately. And I have been avoiding my visit to this place thinking the place is somewhere out of my league of areas (in terms of distance but I was wrong). So while I was riding on the Cenotaph road in search of another cafe I spotted Ambrosia at the very end of the road near CCD and Apollo Cancer hospital. I loved the ambience of the place; they don’t have a huge seating arrangement but they can accommodate a few diners. The baked goodies are displayed (like in a supermarket) so you can choose it yourself.
Taste & Variety: The menu vastly covers baked goodies, (like breads, muffins, rolls, biscuits, etc.), waffles, sandwiches and beverages (these are made to order). As they tag themselves as Japanese bakery, most of the products are non-veg with options of only chicken and pork. I picked up some for take away, they were Cinnamon Roll, Twist and Bread Stick. The perfect layers of bread, cinnamon stuffing and icing sugar topping were just divinely delicious in terms of taste. The sweetness was just right and it was too delicious to resist.
Twist, looked similar to braid, the fried delight dusted with sugar tasted almost like a donut and it was yum. The taste was really really good. Bread Stick is nothing but bread in the shape of a stick; I know that’s some lame explanation but felt like giving it :-D. It was good too. They have more exciting food items that I have fixated my eyes on and this place will have a few more visits from me until I explore their baked delights.
Quality & Quantity: A thumbs up to the quality and quantity. Pricing is worth the portion they serve. The products are baked without preservatives and they taste great.
Price: The bill was Rs.286 INR in total; it’s affordable and value for money considering the quality and taste.
If you haven’t then this is a place you definitely should checkout for delicious breads or baked goodies.
Sometimes you find the best things to eat in the most unexpected places and during unexpected circumstances. I stumbled upon Ambrosia by chance and how well I like the decision of going here. This place calls itself as a Korean pastry shop. Even if you don't get to eat the the food of Greek Gods here, you still get to have amazing pastries!
Had their Potato Korokke, Hot Dog, Vanilla Frappe and Banana Espresso. That potato pastry was mind blowing. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was filled with an amazing filling made out of potatoes and other crunchy vegetables.
Their hot dog was also good. Unlike the usual hot dogs, this one had sausage which was wrapped around by a twisted bread roll that was slathered with cheese and tomato sauce. That sausage though! 😍 It was very flavoursome and packed the right punch.
As far as the drinks are concerned, I was content with the vanilla Frappe. It had the right balance of vanilla flavour in it so I was happy. My friend who loves coffee had the banana espresso. It was a banana milkshake served with espresso shot which had to be mixed. Once it was mixed properly, the two flavours complimented each other in perfect harmony!
On the whole it is one of the feel good places in town where you can have amazing sweet and savoury pastries along with awesome beverages!
Sometimes, it takes you longer than needed for you to realize that you have the thing you need - right in front of you yet keep on searching. This cafe cum bakery had been in my wishlist for quite a long time and being a Japanese & Korean cuisine, it's definitely intriguing.
It's in the cenetoph road, below Teynampet Moopanar flyover -next to CCD, also along the Apollo cancer institute hospital. Parking is limited.
The ambiance is contemporary with less seating space. One thing that catches your attention is the savoury/sweet counter that has food wrapped/packed neatly. They even have HIT written next to fast moving items.
Ordered a Potato koroke, Hot dog, Vanilla frappesica and bananapresso. Potato Korokke is this savoury pastry made out of spicy mashed potatoes. Hot dog has a twisted finish - sausage wrapped by a swirl pastry and baked. Vanilla frappesica is a proper milk based drink but not as think as a shake. Bananapresso is the fusion drink with banana milkshake with espresso shot - Brilliant stuff. It was absolutely great experience although I saw small hiccups here and there.
The pricing looks very decent and depends entirely on the quality and quantity. Service was friendly and prompt. Would definitely pay regular visits here.
Been eyeing this place for awhile being a big k-drama fan and cuz of all the yummy food they show on their shows :P. Wanted to try the much acclaimed honey bread, however that was only available for dine in and I ordered take away.
Ambience - 4/5. Quiet cozy interiors, exactly what you would expect out of a cafe.
Service - 3/5, self service as I got take away but the lady at the billing counter was super helpful in suggesting things I should try.
Food - 3.5/5, like many others wrote before, there was hardly and meat in the ham & cheese bread I tried out. The red bean bun and butter bread were really yummy!
Overall a great place to try out different food. Would go again to try out more!
They have everything. Muffins, buns, breads, cookies! They're about 200 metres away from my place and everytime I'm craving for a muffin, I get here. Quite pocket friendly must I add. And ideal to meet a friend over the evening for a cup of coffee!
Thinking of Fresh baked breads and buns this is the place to head to .so they have all these breads buns doughnuts muffins cookies for display ,you gotta take a plate choose whatever u want from the display and go for billing .i have tried the mocha cream bread ,peanut butter bun ,garlic cheese bread and it was all good .wil definitely be goin back to try the others .
Visited the place on a Saturday evening and the place was empty when we got there.. It remained that way till we left.. It has a casual seating with just a couple of four seater tables.. Tried the legendary honey bread, which was impressive. However if you are the kind who would get sick of eating extra sweet food, then stay away... That dish was definitely too sweet for my palette .. I enjoyed the red bean filled doughnut.. It was very mellow and had an interesting texture.. Also had some savor pork dishes, which were good. The central display table helps you see your food before you buy it.. After picking up your choice of dishes, you can bill them and wait for it to be prepared by the staff and be served to you at the table. Beware, the service is lazy.. The food will take its own time to reach your table. Overall good and interesting food, but very slow and mediocre service. Considering it is a bakery/cafe, it is still ok.. Most dishes are reasonable, but the honey bread is a tad bit too expensive.
Met here for a late morning brunch with my bestie. Reading all the reviews I was looking forward to try out their honey bread which was not available to my disappointment. We ordered the red bean doughnut, cheese garlic bread and choco shell bun.. the choco shell bun was sumptuous. The rest were ok ok ,though the garlic bread was huuge n not spicy! So we couldn't eat much and asked for take away. My blueberry yogurt was an disappointment though. It was bland after eating so much sweet stuff and did not have the flavour. The moment u enter , the ambience and the smell of fresh baked bread puts a smile on ur face. The pricing is reasonable for the food they serve. A really good place to visit with friends and catch up . Charanya Chandrasekaran
Read about this place on zomato and went there. Unfortunately, I went a bit late on Sunday evening and most of the pastries were sold out. However among what was there we tried the ham and cheese bun, almond butter bun and a chocolate bun. Everything was very good. The buns were just delicious. My only suggestions would be, maybe a little more ham in there ham and cheese bun. The cappuccino was OK. Somehow very few places in Chennai get the cappuccino right.
This Korean bakery, I'd say, is a must visit. The types of baked delights they offer stand out from the usual ones around the city, obviously given it's Korean. Unique dishes, the centre display of all their goodies, the amazing aroma of those, I really felt really comfortable at this bakery.
With some coffee, it is an ideal spot for some quality evening time. I totally loved the freshness of their bread, the juicy yummy meat in their dishes. The Honey Bread is DIVINE! Flavourful bread(predominantly Cinnamon) with Caramel and Whipped Cream. YUM! Probably the only thing they lack in is offering adequate vegetarian options. The Pork Hot Dog is definitely one of the better ones I've tasted in the city.
Other than the Honey Bread, I felt the prices to be quite alright as they do offer a lotta different dishes and totally is commensurate with the quality and taste. Would definitely visit this place a lot.
Chennai is slow when it comes to opening up to new cuisines. Western and middle Eastern restaurants are open in every nook and corner of the city. When it comes to the east. Chinese had always dominated the city's interest. In recent times there had been a decent number of Malaysian, Thai and Korean restos popping up in the city. But when it comes to baked goodies - Ambrosia is the only one that I know of that showcases awesome baked yummies from the east.
Located on the cenotaph road, easy to spot sitting right next to Ccd. They have Valet parking so that's icing on the cake.
The first thing that hits you as soon as you enter the cafe, the sweet and heavenly aroma of the baked delicacies..
Bricked walls, bar stools, coffee tables and bright lights - it's the regular cafe scene. But one look at the dessert chillers and the island in the middle of the cafe, filled to the brim with yumminess and you know you are in for a treat.
I have been to this cafes a number if times. My personal favorites are the soboro cream breads and soboro donuts- they are sweet breads and donors filled in the middle with fresh cream and a mix of crushed roasted peanut and cashew nuts.. The cream buns and the twist are always fresh and melts in your mouth.
A couple of these yummies can cost you a couple of hundred bucks, which is quiet expensive but I feel they are worth it.
Ambience - 3/5.

Much hyped and wanted to try this place out for a quick meet up with my friend as it was nearby to my office. The setting was very quirky, authentic and of course nice. I liked the ambience very much.
So these folks spread up all they have to offer like a buffet setting in separate baskets and all you have to do is pick it up, give at the counter, pay and have it served heated up. So I started looking around and every interesting item I pick is non veg. Veggies have almost no options to choose from except to taste their awesome breads.
This place is a bit pricey for a bakery but there is a bit of authenticity with them that makes them stand out in the locality!
My only suggestion to the management is to bring up more options in veg pleaseeeeeeee!!!!
This is a working review... Will be adding more to it as I keep coming here...
This korean place is a haven for bread lovers... They have so many different types of breads... Custard bread, mocha bread, twisty bread, cupcakes, baguettes, pizza baguettes and sausage breads... They dont have too many savoury veg items but loads with pork and ham on it!
The ambience is very casual with huge bulbs hanging from the ceiling... I absolutely love their huge display of all their goodies... Its so comforting to the eyes....:) They have nice Korean music playing in the background... The servers are all Indians...:) and are very friendly and sweet...
Today I ordered a HOT DOG! A delicious sausage encased in soft buttery bread and smeared with tomato sauce and cheese in a stringy style! The taste is excellent... Totally loved the whole deal... Pork and bread and tomato cheese sauce.... The dog cost me Rs. 80/- not bad...
Sausage cheese Baguette: a pork sausage baked between bread in shape of a baguette with cheese... It tasted really good... the pork sausage and the cheese was super.. Cost: 80
Rip Bread: a small bread ripped in the middle to load it veggies and pork ham... The bread was sprinkled with sobroro giving it a rough texture and making the outer layer crispy... Loved the whole deal.. The veggies the ham the cheese... It was excellent! Cost 80/-
Vegetarians there is not much to offer... So you are probably going to be disappointed... Also coming early afternoon will give you fresh produce!

At times, Zomato classification can be misleading. This is listed as Nandanam, yet it is on Cenotaph Road. I go past this road almost everyday but never noticed it mainly because I take the flyover and had no idea that this place existed. Anyway, that hardly matters, as it was an evening of catch up with fellow foodies. This is apparently the only Korean cafe in the city, so I was slightly apprehensive. The vegetarian inside kept tugging me aside and whispered in my ears, "Do you really wanna go here and get disappointed?" Shoving aside the inner voice I decided to go ahead.
It is a cafe that serves primarily bakery items. These are arranged neatly in the middle of the room. So I was told by fellow foodies, that we pick whatever we want, hand them over at the cash counter and food will be served on the table. This takes out the need for a menu card, as all the items are displayed with names and price. We picked about 8 items and gave them at the counter. We settled at the other end of the room and were chatting. Since few of us met for the first time, there was plenty to talk.
Talk we did for a very good time and there was no sign of food. Looked like the lady who ran the place had to juggle between customers and her kid who was wailing for most part of the time. So I can live with that, appreciate a working mother who tries to balance work and personal life (Or should I say in this case, for her they were intertwined so closely, that she was clearly struggling). The point is, there were not too many customers and they just had to heat the food up and bring.
Anyway, food started arriving one by one. What I found was the flavours in all the items were very subtle. For instance, the garlic bread was so mild on garlic flavour yet tasted wonderful. This was so huge, so there was enough for everyone on the table. I was really looking forward to Cheese & Cheese, but it only had a tiny smattering of cheese at the top, otherwise it was just bun. Probably a misnomer. What made up for that was the double cheese which tasted heavy on cheese.
The choco shell had only little choco filling in the middle. Some of the other items had pork and beef, so skipped them. However, I liked the Strawberry cake roll. Tasted great and portion size was huge. Easily two people can be satisfied. Pricing was pretty decent given the locality.
The only issue was service and language. The Korean owner and the tamil help make a perfect combination in speaking Noodles English. I spoke with him in tamil, still I had tough time communicating things. So I can imagine, how it would be for someone who did not know either language. Service is so slow, that you can probably order go for a movie and come back. Yet the place is charming and definitely nice place to catch up with people if you have plenty of time to kill and not worried about slow service.
This one's a nice little Korean bakery tucked away in Cenotaph road. There is an encircled enclosure right in the center of the place stacked with different products comprising primarily bread based. You take a tray, pick up the stuff which appeals to you and bill for the items picked.
They have a number of cheese based apart from some rubbed with garlic but predominantly they suit the non vegetarians. However if you are one of those loaf lovers, the place may find favor with you. They also have some niceties on the pastry side. Do recommend their green tea and strawberry cakes which have a heavy dose of cream laced inside.
It is more designed towards take away but you do have a few tables to sit and enjoy the things which you've handpicked. The rates are kind of par for the course but what really needs to improve is the service where we had to wait for ages to get basic essentials such as fork and water.
The place is bright and has a nice ambient feel to it. This unique bakery cafe from the land of South East Asia should sure entice the average foodie to check this outlet.
Ambrosia Cafe/ Korean Bakery - Cenotaph Road
A small place with a lot of heart... We often like to walk down for a coffee or some Asian Snack. They have an open counter where you pick your stuff and go to Billing. The interiors remind you of the cafes in the East Coast (NY precisely). They have lovely short eats and Bubble Tea as well. This is not meant for quick service. A coffee could take you 25 mins easily. They have just one person to serve and one to bill. However the short eats from the counter come with you so there is no wait on that though. Ideal for a lazy coffee over some funny banter.

This is one place I often take my little one for a quick bite. She loves all of their bakes. The sponge cake here is to die for and so is any of their red bean paste filled pastries.
We had the red bean filled bun, some earl grey cookies and a sponge cup cake.
The cookies are fantastic but definitely pricey at 140/- for that quantity. The cup cake is 60 and totally worth it. Just like tha pastries one would find at Chinatowns.
The butter stick was one of a kind but a little too hard on the outside for the little one to bite.
All of this and some coffee set us back by around 400
I keep commuting past Cenotaph Road, so I've always notice the board, but never had the chance to go in. But recently had the several chances to.
It's a nice little bakery. Not many customers from what I've seen at least, but the place lacks more variety. I've been there a couple of times, and I found it hard to decide what to have, because there isn't much of a Menu. Their breads and everything are all laid out and we've to basically just pick what looks appetizing.
This could change a little, give us something to look at on a Menu and let us choose from there.
But despite it all, what ever I've had from this place so far, in terms of taste, has not been disappointing at all.
Looking forward to more from this place.
Nice place. Had the chocolate frappie which was really good and the quantity was hugeee.. But found it a lilttle expensive. If u wanna indulge once in a while its totally worth it :)
If they probably slash down the prices and advertise more they would do really well.
Spent four hours at this place stuffing ourselves with yummy bread, rolls, cookies and some lovely Korean delicacies. Oh I forgot the strong and delicious coffee. The ambience is gorgeous and its perfect for conversation and soul time.
Its a must visit!!
Coffee is good! Pastries are awesome! the ambience is peaceful!
The prices are crazy... 120 for a baguette... 120 for an espresso... which tastes intensely soulful of course! And that cost pushes a lot of the crowd into namma eco-CCD next door... which means blissful GTD!
Will come back!
