Very nice coffee super customer service thank u guys
Rich hazelnut filter coffee,!! Excellent fusion every modern south Indians dream fulfilled 💖
A quaint little eatery, its hygiene is what attracts you first. As a regular customer, Love their samosas, puffs and various other snacks on menu. They serve with a smile always.
Awesome Chennai Masala Chai which has 10 spices and you should taste the hot butter cookies along with it.
They also serve one of the best filter coffee my friend has it regularly, as I am chai addict.
I vote for Chennai Masala Chai..... try other products hot chocolate and Rose Milk also.
During my third week at Chennai Office I found myself lost, without my usual supply of coffee. That's when I came across 'Cold Filter Coffee' from Coffee Shastra! :) I was speechless to see the words cold and filter clubbed with coffee!! It made my day. I was pleasantly delighted by this carefully curated cup of coffee - the right mix of milk, water and coffee (something that only Chennai can provide), the right amount of blending, foaming and filtering (all in one - a very hard combination to find)! This coffee is a step forward in the revolution of many more coffees to come. I would like to sincerely thank Coffee Shastra for this cup of art, enthusiasm and blooming energy! :) You guys rock the world of coffee. Go Coffee Shastra
A small road side shop which initially started serving Filter coffee, Masala chai etc, later expanding to serve aloo parathas, cashews, milk shakes. They now sell original mountain honey too !!
No place to sit, just a place to stand and take the coffee.
Coffee is authentic in flavour, served in brass tumbler and vessel. If you ask for jaggery, instead of white sugar, it is available.
Tea - they have many options viz. green tea, masala chai, Chennai chai etc.
coffee and tea are their main items and they are up to our expectations.
Chocolate mud jar - 150 INR ( Inclusive of tax and GST ) available @coffeeshastra
Verdict 👩⚖️ - Tastes good but not exquisite, overpriced.

Add coffee flask to the menu
This is a very good place for chai lovers in different flavours . Option of country sugar / raw sugar is an added advantage. Though the price is bit high, tastes good and excellent.
The green tea was just amaaayzingg! It had the perfect blend, was with the right heat, had green tea leaf and no added sugar and yet it had a tint of sweetness which is so diff to what our normal green tea bag gives!
The cold coffee was great too, but I craved for the bottle which wasn't given for take aways 😕
The ambience is very minimalistic, simple and cute! The staff are nice but take time to deliver your order.
The cost is budget friendly and has healthy food ideas 😊
Will i visit again? Maybe for the green tea and cold coffee(if I'm feeling down)
I noticed this Chai place always crowded Whenever I pass through this street. Finally visited recently.
I ordered for a combo with Veg Puff and their signature Chennai Masala Chai.
Veg Puff - Fresh and perfect 👍
Chai - Added with 10 spices totally different from the regular Masala Chai's and tasted awesome 👌👌
Service was highly professional 👍👍. The tomato ketchup sachet served with Puff was cut at one corner so that we don't need to spend more time in opening the sachet. Staff at the counter was polite and attentive 👍👍
Price - Paid 40 rupees for the above combo. All items are priced reasonably and Definitely worth for the money 👍
I am going to visit this place often for their Masala Chai 👍👍

First time visited this place..
Located in one of the busiest places of T Nagar.
Ordered Herbal Masala Chai. Tasted really good.
Place is neat. The small kiosk offers a limited food with great taste. If you want to get a rich taste of Tea, then it's the place.
Vfm really good.
Chai Shasta simply good..
My first-ever experience with Jar cake - Very happy. And my preference for Jar cakes will surely be Happy Jars. It isn't too soft or hard, just right. Tried Choco Mug. Filled with raisins, cream and cake... Left me pleasantly surprised.
Food - 4.0 ❤️
Service - 4.0 💞
_-_ Introduction: 😇 Located in one of the busiest and highly commercial areas of Chennai, coffee shastra gives you an experience of unadulterated coffee and amazing varieties of chai. ☕🍵🥛
_-_ Menu: Being known for coffee and chai, coffee shastra offers you variety of milk shakes and snacks. 🥘🌮☕
_-_ Ambience: It is a pretty small and a cute outlet with tall tables to stand around with your buddies, giving you a total desi feel. 💙💚💙💚 It is a great place to release your work stress and enjoy your coffee. 😇😇
_-_ Orders: We stuck to the basic and ordered a filter coffee and chai. 😜😍
_-_ Food: It was really appealing to see the way coffee was served in a typical South Indian copper glass and a bowl, whereas chai was served in a glass tumbler. 🥛🍶 Coming to the taste, it was nothing extra ordinary but simple and satisfying. ✌️✌️ Coffee had the perfect blend of the beans and chai was good. 🤘🤘
_-_ VFM: The total bill was Rs. 46, which may be a little too much than compared to the other roadside tea shops, but considering the hygiene and the variety they offer it is a must try. 👌👌❣️❣️❣️
Recommended! 👍👍👍
I didn't visit their kiosk, I just found Coffee Shastra on Swiggy and ordered Masala Chai, Cold Coffee and Kadalai. The taste of the Masala Chai and Cold Coffee made me open Zomato after a long time for giving a 5 star review !
I've never tasted a tea so good in my whole life ! a must visit ! and the prices are too low ! very inexpensive !
I wish them all the best and hope they expand their branches too all areas soon !
For Coffee Lovers: People who are are in Chennai should try this filter coffee.
Specialty: They don't have chicory in their coffee which is the unique one; they have a tea which has about 10 spices which are really good for health. Their Rose milk is also having some unique thing added in it and also tasted so good.
Prices are affordable for all the things that they give.
Love this place! They have an amazing selection of milkshakes and the staff is very friendly. It is a
Must try place for those who want to try different types of milkshakes. Do try their rasam malai milkshake. It is so good!
Tried this place 'Coffee Shastra' a kiosk which is located in Bazzulah road, T nagar.
They offer pure( no chicory) n normal filter coffee(with chicory), herbal-masala chai with more than 10 herbs and few nibbles. The first time I was there, they only had pure filter coffee n ordered after a bit of contemplation. It was served in a heavy traditional davara set which had bronze coating.
I had a double strong- no sugar dose which was good but not strong enough for me. I had 2 back to back for the taste and the fine fragrance. And from that day on, my love for them has been growing steadily! Have visited it multiple times and have had their chai as well.
Price: Inr 23/- per cup for pure filter coffee. Definitely worth it.
Awesome, incomparable coffee in town. Their cold coffee is refreshing and unique. Apart the high caffeine beverages they have several healthy drinks and eats. Been there twice today itself. Must try kind of place.
The best coffee I've had in ages. Everything here is fresh, and you can see that with the inimitable Filter Kaapi aroma. The masala chai is equally amazing. Now I visit the place almost everyday. And true to their claims they have the most innovative coffee tumbler ever.
Special mention to their cold coffee, for which they use decoction instead of the customary instant mix. So yes, this is the best cold coffee you'll find around.
One ozmm place to taste the essence of pure Masala chai :) must check in :) pocket friendly, hygiene and yummy:) would be great to have happy hours in swiggy too :)
Chair with pander puff is the best combination in the world. The chennai masala chair is wonderful with many spices and tasted like heaven. Had a great chair after long time. Paneer puff is also crispy and flaky along with my favorite ketchup.
Hoooo super good store
I had here badam milk shake, it's very good what's spl in this means they are putting the crushed badam in badam milk shake and the coffee was very fantastic I love thiz coffee vry much
Badam milk is very good and priced just 49/- and the podi idly priced at 35/- also tasted really good with less oil. The service is good and they say vanakkam
Very very good filter coffee, loved the service and mostly price. Happy happy.
I also tried the salted cookies and it's really soft and good.
Coffee Shastra super Shastra
After hearing so much about this place, we decided to give it a try.
Their Filter coffee is simply the best in chennai.
Service and neatness is really appreciative.
Price is very moderate
Will visit again for sure😍😍😍😍😍
Wonderful experience of having the pure filter coffee served with nice dabara set which is unique and the service was good.
The shop is located at bazullah road T.Nagar. The shop looks neat and clean, parking shouldn't be a problem. All the best
Great south indian filter coffee without chicory and nice service at affordable price. Cold drink is also a worth trying.
The shop is located at a good place and
Really good coffee. Try the espresso shot. Awesome service. Coffee should be had standing up because that's what I believe in. Love the place.
As I drive by, this tiny coffee shop is always busy and Coffee Shastra was on my whishlist for sometime now, Well last evening we happened to visit and ordered masala chai and cold coffee, I split a large portion of the tea and the staffs were so friendly and refilled my cup without any extra charge, the quality and taste was good and perfect.
A pocket friendly cool hangout spot when in Tnagar...
Pure filter coffee stands out and should be appreciated.
Coffee Shastra & Chai Shastra cool new cafe at T-nagar, bazulla road next to Grand sweets,I t gives a great impression and ambience really good with good hygiene.
The pure filter coffee is awesome and stands out, it does not contains any chicory... The service is good and other products are also good.
The prices of the products makes me really happy, but they shld bring some more eatables to make me happy.
Finally ba good spot to hangout with friends or family.
Masala chai is aweome, the flavour and aroma whoa.... Service was good and they greet u with vanakkam.... Nice to see that... Keep u guys...
Amazing coffee and the masala chai is a must try.... also the cold coffee shake is amazing for the scorching heat ..... nice to see Paytm being accepted

Best coffee place in the locality. Visited them recently and found the place to be a fantastic spot for quick catch-up over a hot cup of coffee, madras style.
Awesome coffee and ambience.Great place to hang out with friends and family.Would love to go there again for the sheer aroma of coffee they serve
I live in Sydney which has one of the best coffee in the world. Having said that, my recent visit to Chennai and love for coffee landed me into this highly recommended joint. This is by far the best Coffee I have ever had in pan India. Great job with the accompaniments too!
Will definitely return and recommend all you coffee lovers to try this once- you will come back!
Had a coffee there. Really a nice experience. The taste tends me to go daily daily... Will be the next Landmark in that area...#coffeeliker must go here definitely when u passby T. Nagar. Murali Kishan Patel Rakesh T. Nagar
I had coffee with some of my colleagues..taste and services are too good... Best place to hang out with friends and families... Thank you guys for awesome Coffee....
Happened to visit this place with a bunch of Friends after some football at Tiki Taka. The first thing that hits you is how snazzy the shop looks for a Tea Kadai like outlet. We tried their signature coffee and it was premium stuff. This is the kinda coffee Madras was famous for. Their Masala chai was also equally brilliant. If you are around T Nagar and are in the mood for a good coffee, I'd recommend this one.
Quality of chai is too good... They have vide variety of chai's which is quite good and tasty... Nice ambience.. Had a good time with friends after a long....
Nice place to hang out with friends, coffee s awesome. Raja and muthu (owners of the shop) are very friendly. Will go here again when ever I get a chance
Great going Muthu and Raja. Ways to Go... Proud of you My Dear Friends. Had Great Experience of having Authentic Coffee without Chikkri. Tastes Great.
Nice place to hang out 👍✌️, everything is awesome over here. I use to visit daily , enjoy the Ambience and coffee served here . People pls try out once if your coffee enthusiast

Amazing place for Cold filter coffe and Rose Milk
Priced at 40rs it's good
Definitely a thirst quencher during the hot summer .
Also their masala chai is good
It has all the essential spices and mix that’s really good for the body
The only drawback is there's no seating
One of the best coffee outlet in Chennai and awesome and fresh coffee aroma on every sip. All filter coffee lovers don't miss this place. Friendly staff and fresh coffee.
Coffee Shastra sounds traditional but looks modern, located in Bazulla road in T.Nagar near Grand Sweets.
It's a fusion cafe with Coffee & Chai, where the staff says only chai not tea and the same goes to coffee as well "pure filter coffee". It was a warm welcome with a vanakkam.
I had their pure filter coffee served in different type of dabara set priced @ 23 for regular & 35 for large, coming to taste it was a really pleasent to have a pure filter coffee without chicory these days and i am completely satisfied.
My friend had the masala chai served in the authentic chai glass priced similar to coffee. The product was good and the masala taste & smell was good with bit more of a cinnamon note. The milk was too thick and it seems they don't add water to the chai.
Verdict: A must visit for Pure Filter coffee and good thick masala chai.... Kudos guys... Looking for more outlets.

Coffee and tea shops are a necessity and how many ever opens they are going to be a boon. Coffee / Chai Shastra is the new kiosk after Madras Coffee in the Bazullah road, the shop is located on the same side as Grand Sweets and the vibrant orange color hoarding is hard to miss. And parking your two-wheelers will be very easy but during the busy hours it’s tough for the cars to find a place.
It’s a kiosk and as the name goes they sell coffee and tea along with munchies that will go well with your beverages.
We spotted the outlet during our morning ride and they were a day old when we visited them. The hot coffee aroma is hard to let go until you sip some; we ordered Masala Chai and Filter Coffee. They offer the hot beverages in two different portions i.e. regular and large, we opted for regular. The masala tea was blissful and was too good. On the other hand, the filter coffee was nice but wasn’t the most memorable sip or the best; they give a soup stick with the coffee that is served in davara tumbler.
We paid Rs.46 INR in total for the tea and coffee (so the beverages cost Rs.23 INR each). With lots of offices and shopping complexes in that specific road it’s ideal to have another coffee shop where we can energise ourselves.
I had been to coffee shastra once . I had coffee there . Nice place to have a coffee & stuffs . Staff response to enquiries is superb . I would like to experience the same to all my friends . Making me to visit coffee shastra once again to have a coffee & chai .
One fine Sunday was passing through the Bazullah Road and saw this newly opened place. Out of curiosity went their and ordered for Masala Tea. The tea was really awesome with herbs and spices. then ordered for a filter coffee which was gain a treat to the taste bud. Apart from the great taste, price is very reasonable. Also the style of presenting is superb. They serve coffee in thick and heavy copper cups along with a bread stick. Overall satisfied and the place will be a recurring stop for me going ahead.

Wow ! Simply great !! I went yesterday for the first time to meet a friend for coffee. Love the coffee! Hands down a fav place to go grab my fav drink...
Ambience - Excellent
Service - Very good and they say vanakam which makes really cool
Coming to filter coffee - The pure filter is really good and they give a bread stick along with it to refresh our tongue to get the same taste what we had in the first sip. Nice idea.
Black Coffee - Whoa good one people
All the very best people and keep going
One of the Best Filter coffee without chicory, Masala tea is too good and the this shop employees very well mannered attending the customers. addicted to this place whenever i cross T. nagar i am visiting this place.
Great tasting fantabulous masala Chai & coffee at reasonable prices. Place is neat & certainly worth a try! You don't find another place in Chennai like
this so far!
Located few shops away from Grand Sweets in Bazullah Road.
Simply the best filter coffee, I have had.
Love the free ginger stick with the coffee and their cookies are very tasty too.
The outlet is very beautiful looks like a cafe from abroad.
Tasted the Pure Filter coffee and it was very good.
They serve with a free bread stick for each coffee.
The store staff explained the reason for offering a free breadstick never knew the science behind earlier.
He said that ginger bread stick will neutralise the taste in our mouth and when you drink the coffee you get the best taste of the drink.
Never been a fan of Filter coffee, but from now onwards I will be at Coffee Shastra their taste is unique and very tasty.
Shop staff is very courteous and look after us with best patience and they are properly dressed for a Filter coffee shop - they had aprons and hair caps.
I was shocked to see at a Filter coffee shop.
Shop ambience is very beautiful looks like a Cafe from foreign country and have to appreciate the team to give such a branding feel for a Filter coffee shop.
Price is very reasonable and their store is very neat and you will have to wait for your coffee a bit if you visit during evening.
Pure Filter coffee is very nice.
Different from other Filter coffee shops and each drink is served with a free ginger bread stick to neutralise the mouth flavour to enjoy the best flavour of the coffee.
The coffee tumbler is very different and this is the first time- I drank from a tumbler like this.
Store is very neat and staff is very courteous.
Price is very reasonable.
Must try for their Pure Filter coffee without chicory.
This is small coffee shop with wide range of coffee menu . As well as they have some quick bite menu also . They're signature item in the menu is bun butter and jam highly recommended. They also have masala bun and much more . They have healthy snacks too like peanut and etc. They have variety of filter coffee flavours all are must try .there won't sufficient seating for its crowd . They also have some cookies to try . Over all its a must try budget friendly coffee spot with your coffee loving friends and family. Over all rating for food 4.7/5. Bun butter jam rating 4.5/5. Ambience rating 4/5.
Amazing bun butter and bun butter jam. It sounds quite simple however the taste is very good. They also serve hot herbal water on a copper vessel to quench the thirst. Need to try the coffee the next time.
Bun butter jam taste was too good 😋
.
Coffee taste are amazing 🤩
.
They also have maggi,Samosa and vadapav
.
Their Masala Chai was Exellent!🤤
Courteous staffs, nice ambience, senior crew Mrs.Lakshmi builds a good rapport with the customers the place provides a wonderful masala tea and new introductory product millet biscuits
The rating is for the awesome Chai. The current climate and kadak chai was just perfect. Friendly and polite staff. But the veg puff, a big NO. A big puffed up savoury with a small tsp filling for 25/30rs.
What else they offer -
Brownie for 80rs I thot a little pricey for the size don't know the quality and taste.
Sponge n Banana cake, Masala peanuts Hazelnut filter coffee , Schezwan Vada Pav, Maggi, Samosa. Ginger, Elachi , Masala Tea, Jam bun.
Quiet a shady spacious place on the main road, has comfortable parking for 2-4 wheels, nice bench seating.
A perfect place to snack out on rainy day.
It's a small and neat outlet, the tea which they have is a mix of spices, if you wish to have normal Indian style tea, please mention it while billing.
I went to tnagar temple then parked my car at some random street and started wandering tnagar areas with my friend, the aroma caused by coffee Shastra made a very big impact, actually I am neither coffee person nor tea person but I was attracted to those aromatic coffee shop while crossing those Usman sali Road, because of that impact while returning back I insisted we are going to try some bites here, he was saying no but as we came close he was also convinced, so we got chocolate bun, walnut chocolate Brownies and one panavellam filter coffee.
They have arranged a nice compact seating nearby, they have maintained the stall very neatly, they took the order and billing took some time because of crowd. Eatables are served hot and perfectly but drinkable takes time reaching us, it's ok they give a me time to every customer.
They give rose color healthy water that, was good, even fried snacks where also served their.
Where ever you go, for whatever the reason is, do wear a mask and keep your hands clean and stay safe.
My friend recommended me to try the Irish coffee. Didn't like it much but it was a bit different. Could try once. Vada pav and butter jam for just Rs.35 is good quality and quantity. Parking could be an issue as the place is always crowded in the evenings. There are only two benches to sit. You have to stand and have your food. Can visit the place once! I'd love to try out other coffee flavours some other day.
Good coffee shop with a wide spread of choices hot and cold beverages along with some snacking options. It is mostly crowded and might need a bit of follow up after order before you can receive your drink/snack. Starbucks like naming would help ease the crowd at the counter.
Open air seating is available for about 5-6 people but during a typical evening the place will be having at least 20 people around the area thronging to get their dose of sugar.
The cold beverages are all premixed and thus altering the amount of sugar is not possible. Price wise it is in the range of chai kings and like, which is on the premium side. The usage of beetle nut leaf plates is commendable, and hope a similar Eco friendly alternative is adopted for the tumblers which are disposable paper cups for the regular size and disposable pp plastic cups for large beverages. An option to have glass tumblers would be great to have. Cold beverages are also packaged in plastic bottles, and glass bottles/mugs could be adopted here as well.
Had honey ginger lemon tea, hazelnut coffee, the bun butter jam and bun maksa. And the Belgian chocolate milk as well. All were good.
