This is the best restaurant in the chennai
And the food is also good in taste and it is soo tasty that I can't say anything more.
Love the buffet at this place. They offer authentic vegetarian Punjabi dishes. Two of my favourite ones are their 'garam garam' jalebis and rajma chawal.
This is one of the best restaurants in Chennai. I was impressed with the food and enjoyed the traditional seating style. The staff was friendly and the service was quick.
The FOOD:
Starters: we started our meal with an assortment of kebabs. The meat and was well cooked and the marinade was tasty.
Main course: we had a chicken curry, a paneer gravy and a variety of naans. The garlic naan and the paneer gravy were very good. The cottage cheese was cooked in a thick, creamy and tangy gravy.
Overall, I was very pleased with my dining experience and will be back soon. Make sure to check it out if youโre ever in Chennai.
Amazing food taste 5 star for that.
Huge area, nice service, good staff, parking is available.
Now comes to food we ordered paneer butter masala, masala kulcha , kofta, daal fry .. all are mouth watering taste. Just loved it.
Will visit soon.
The food was really good. Had ordered Chicken biryani which was really good, the butter chicken was yummy and the Paneer tikka masala was just amazing. Also loved the tandoori chicken it was very well cooked and it was very tasty. Overall everything was really good.
Home converted to restaurant. MINI MEALS: Excellent Taste and convincing quantity of spreads. the one of the best south indian food. i like sambhar rice & curd rice
ambience is good...tried tandoori items..they were very good.surely go for them.however it is not air conditioned but food makes up for it..

I have been here two times in 4 months, and I don't think that the quality of food hasn't changed. I particularly love the stone -themed staircases that lead to the restaurant.
Parking is fine if you come here on a motorcycle, I have no idea about car parking. My guess is, car parking is for Eldorado employees.
I went here in Summer and now and the seating area is definitely not suited for a hot summer afternoon. The humidity and sweating made it uncomfortable. It was fine today with the breeze kicking in.
The food was definitely worth the money. I paid 130 Rupees for the lunch buffet. You have to pay for the food first, get a token and then enter the dining area, give the token and eat with the one single plate that the token collector gives you. ย I find that very unhygienic- to take a plate you just ate in back to the spread.
I have been to this place for 3+ times with my wife first and now with my kid. We love to be here whenever a special occasion in my life say for birthday anniversary etc. They are very good in food but little service can be more helpful. I just requested for a bowl to feed my kid they hesitated no one listens to what we say. Still good in food at that price. I am used to Nearbuy website and paid only 110/- per head. Good place to hangout with friends too to spend some time with small amount of food. They can increase the varieties if possible. I still love this place.
wohoo!! finally i am gonna write review . i have visited this outlet for nearly 15-20 times(approx.).. my all time favourite is their coloured rice, gravy will be nice. its a buffet restaurant and normal dining too. ambience is not bad, bright.more than all its a pocket friendly restaurant, those who feel hungry to the core ย and feel light in pocket, they can visit this restaurant. p.s. strictly for vegans.
Very delicious food, paneer was mouth watering (paneer khurchan) a must try, complete north Indian food. After 4-5 days of search I am happy I got dhabba express
Been here for both buffet and AL cart as well... buffet here is worth for the price they provie 2 types of rotis, variety of gravies, curries and pulov, white rice, dessert (most often jellabies)
Al cart:
Chilli paneer dry 5/5
Butter naan 4.5/5
Corn methi malai 5/5 (must try)
Chicken lollipop
Gobi Manchurian dry 5/5
Service 4.8/5
Quality 5/5
Quantity 3.5/5
Been there for dinner buffer.. Got decent spread of dishes.. Worth the money for 150.. Jelabis were just awesome puri too.. Rest dishes were okey..
With my family, friend all together went for dinner buffet. We got there quite late - around 9.20, and they close at 10. So I almost expected that they wouldn't be able to serve us, but they greeted us got us a table.
The spread at the buffet itself was pretty huge, with multiple vegetarian dishes for 150. However, not all of them were equally delicious. Among the vegetarian ones, the dal, Aloo Gobi and punjabi kofta curry were really good! Mouth watering Briyani then I had punjabi kofta curry was a tad too spicy for my taste. There were two dishes and both were pretty lackluster. Placed Ala-carte the meat dishes, the butter chicken was the best, followed by the Tandoori chicken. The chicken curry didn't have any flavor and the tandoori chicken tasted like what you might expect it to taste at the end of a day, sitting under hot lights. It was a pity, but we stuck to the good things.
Their roti naan was good, though naan is best served fresh out of the oven, and they had a pretty big variety of menu I chose to skip dessert (though my friend liked their gulab jamun), but had a lot of raita to help with the spicy food - I really like well made raita :)
We knew they were getting close to their closing time, so we finished up and left. But over all I think it's worth visiting again. If you want good amounts of food, and you know which of the dishes to get. It's also possible that the food quality is better if you come earlier in the evening. Maybe I'll do that and find out for myself :)
Ambience : Looking run down.
Pricing : Rs.150 (16 course menu)๐๐
Service: Even though we reached at the closing time, their staff's made sure that food is served and they made each and every dish we ordered, without getting bugged for getting late. Attentive and well informed, a big thanks to manager who handled on time without upsetting anyone and very attentive even with kids. Thanks team we were happy and spent good time with family over there.
Food: Excellent Briyani, Noodles, Aloo gobi, punjabi curry, mix veg, manchurian, hot roti on table most important delicious jalebi๐๐๐
Overall : Asli Punjab khana, ll visit with my group of friends๐๐๐๐
Its halal 100% Dhabba Express ?

I went to this place twice, visited second time last saturday after having good seva at parthasarathy temple.....firstly there is an ample space for four wheelers cum two wheelers parking.......coming to the ambiance its neat,in buffet space there are no aircons only fans are there but not an issue.....the most admirable thing in this place is the buffet which cost only 150 rs and they provide good spread for the very cheap rate.....they provide poori, parathas, nan, chenna masala, dal tadka or dal makhni, sambar, steam rice, sev puri, cabbage starter, fried rice or veg pulao, noodles, manchurian, gobi and aloo fry, boondhi raitha, cabbage salad, shallots, pickle and hot hot yummy jilaebis which was the highlight among the spread.......coming to starters they keep changing it ,they provide mini samosas also for starters.......taste wise all were good except chenna masala...i wonder the lack of taste in former said dish that too in a punjabi restaurant.rest of the dishes were too good.service is really good and keep refilling it asap.....here u can taste the aunthetic punjabi taste....i heard even non veg is good but will go again to try their non veg dishes.......so dhaba dhool dhamaka......worth spending and all the dishes for 150 rs only couldn' t believe it.....so dont miss it guys....its a must visit place.......

I was hesitant but true Punjabi food in Chennai....after trying food at Delhi etc.,you won't like Chennai flavoured Punjabi food....still I'm rating 3.5 for their variety but they have to improve on service levels...
Unlimited Buffet - Worth to try atleast once... The food isn't that awesome... But at the rate, it's appropriate...
Plus there no ambience... Not fans... No AC...
U can imagine ur college canteen but food is comparatively better than that... Dessert is fixed most of time - Jalebi...
So as I said... Try it once...
One & only cheapest dabha type ambiance in Chennai and serves cheap Buffet and made to order can be placed. But has only complain as it does not taste like North Indian food in Chennai.
Hope it alright with them.
Cheers!!!
It was my friend's treat and we were in a group of 15 people. The staff is very cooperative. It offers the perfect Veg buffet at the best reasonable price you can ever get. In a nutshell, a must go place when you don't wanna spend much and eat upto the brim.
Ordered some Rotis, naans and kulcha to go along with dhal makani, sarson ka saag (OMG..supeb it was) and murgh tikka masala with some tadoori murgh full. we did not order any soups or extra starters just thought of having some simple dinner but this place made it extraordinary. the ambiance is a bit out dated and with very minimal lighting and the parking was just ok. if those were good, would have rated this place 5 for sure.
Went here for lunch with a friend. The cheap prices of the unlimited buffet invited us to try out this place. The ambience isn't so great. But the food is typically north Indian, and does justice to its name - Dhaba Express! There are veg and non veg buffets, and an a la carte menu as well. There was chole batura, rotis, pasta, and 3-4 different sabjis and gravys to pick from. Great place to go to when your pockets are empty and you want some good unlimited north Indian food!
Came here lot of times. Previously the price of buffet was Rs. 130 now it's Rs. 150. But its totally worth it.
For Rs. 150 you can eat unlimited rotis/naans/puris, with Sabji, a gravy, dal makhani, white rice, sambar, salads, curd rice, jeera rice, Gobi pakoda, pasta with pasta sauce, jilebi s.
Especially jilebis here are yummy. Never wanna miss these.
You can even get add ons like lassi, mineral water, lemon soda, soft drinks etc. A must visit place for buffet lovers. But this buffet us purely veg.
It was the restaurant closest to my place and the answer to all my Punjabi cravings. I am hoping I was one of the most regular customers cause it was my go to place. I lived on the Dal fry. Seems petty but for a North Indian food lover to live in chennai and detest South Indian food and finally find a Dal fry to eat everyday is a HUGE blessing. The Punjabi chicken is not so Punjabi but it's still the closest and some good rotis.
- The moment we saw the restaurant from outside we were in two minds, whether to go in or not. That's because the restaurant does not look good from outside, it looks like a very local place.
- The ambiance inside is average.
- The Paneer Tikka Masala was just fantastic. Garlic Naan tasted pretty well.
- My friends ordered Butter Chicken and Kadai Chicken. The Butter Chicken was no where close to the original dish. Whereas the Kadai Chicken was very good.
Let's be honest here. This place is the one that my gang hits when we are super hungry. We eat like godzillas, so the buffet serves us pretty well. The price is nominal and the place which is open feels cool. Now here's the con part. They don't maintain hygiene there. It isn't a place to take your date, but this is where you're supposed to take that super eater friend of yours.
best food at 10pm.....really good service! will visit again ......just complain is the regular water that was served...its not good .Please do derve mineral water.
Good for casual dine out or eat out to satiate hunger. Food is good and worth the price though other aspects are quite laid back. Lassi stands out along with list of sweets offered
Superb place to quench your thirst for authentic punjabi dhabba food. As the name suggest dhabba express is a very down to earth kind of place where you can eat delicious authentic food. Prices are good and good place to hang out with friends. Ambiance is normal.
The place is cozy and warm and is welcoming. We tried butter chicken masala, kadahi pander, karari bhindi, raita, Naan n Lachcha paranthas...food was served quickly, was piping hot, tasted amazing and had authentic flavours. Service was good and the place and food is good value for money...definitely recommended if your taste buds are craving for some authentic Punjabi flavours.
We had buffet dinner here. It was really good. Don't forget to have lassies to conclude the dinner. The typical dhaba ambiance is very much ideal for night hangouts.
Yes, it is a Good place for a North Indian to have foods like Dal Makhni, Naan, Paneer. Infact the manager is very good.

One of the few available veg buffet restaurant.
Can enjoy veg buffet (approx. 12 dishes)with less than 200 INR .
Alakat is also available for both Veg and Non-Veg.
Taste is average.
Service is OK.
Definitely try Mango lassi.
Overall, value for the given money..
I know this dining place from a long time and it's great. The decorum inside is very good. It has been designed in a Punjabi dhaba style. Dining spaces are ample. Dhaba express is mostly famous for its Veg buffet at a reasonable price of INR 180. There is no non-veg buffet but you can order non-veg items separately on top of veg buffet. The menu changes everyday. I have seen many office people as well as bachelors walking into the place and enjoy the meals. I have seen corporates or teams of companies organising team lunch and team dinners. This place is heaven for North Indian foodies who want a good meal or want to full there stomach with good stuff at reasonable charge. There is ample parking space available for bikes & cars.
Had a wonderful Experience..!!!
Most of the times we come here for a Corporate Hangout..Food is really Fab at its price.. best Veg Restaurant in Nungambakkam at very much affordable price especially the buffet.. staff very much Humble & polite ... Lovely food..
Would definitely Recommend..!!!
Very good pocket friendly and budget fiting restaurant in Chennai's Nungambakkam area. Can easily accommodate a bunch of people. Very popular among college students and professionals for team lunch.

To the best of my knowledge, this is the only place in Chennai which offers a wide spread of buffet for such a cheap price. I have been visiting this place when the buffet was just Rs 70. Over the years , the cost has increased to Rs 180 (at the time of the review). The all you can eat vegetarian buffet consists of following. Indian Breads - 2 varieties, 2 gravies, 1 Dhall and sometimes a sambar too. They have always a variation in noodles along with a Chinese Manchurian gravy. You get a pulao or a vegetable biriyani along with raitha, salads and pickles. You have a Chinese dry or vegetable fritters, curd rice, plain rice ( don't miss rice with Dhall) and the final one is hot jilebi. The taste is decent and have wondered how they provide such a huge spread. If you want a soft on pocket buffet, this place is highly recommended. Buffet is available for lunch and dinner. They also have ala carte serving both vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. Definitely value for money.
