You have to try guntur chicken here, it's absolutely delicious and thinking about biryani makes my mouth water.
Being a Hyderabadi it was little tough to find a place which serves biryani without tomato(no offence to other places in Chennai) until I found Velidis.
Coming to portion size, the quantity is less than what you pay for. Though Velidis is pricey the taste is 😍.

Hyderabadi chicken dum briyani - Quite normal nothing compared to special briyani.
Velidis special veg briyani - This was ordered for my vegan collegues.I didnt get chance to taste it.
Spicy velidis chicken (dry) - It was served with coriander and cashews pieces.It was hell of spice!!! The chef didn't show mercy on us ...We ended up ordering three cokes...Nice tactic isn't it 😂
Overall nice place to have auntentic namma andhra style food but felt pricey for all dishes.Must avoid going during 12-2pm during weekdays!! It will have hell of noise!!!
If you love spicy foods, andhra cuisine is always best for you and Velidis must be in your option!.
Their dishes have all type of foods from mild to highly spicy, so dont worry when your friends doesn’t like spicy, you can get them something else!

I tried guntur chicken, Velidis Spl chicken biryani and Mixed fried rice. Guntur chicken was very spicy but well cooked and tasted good. It costs Rs.280.

Mixed friedrice, one of favourite anywhere, had a lot of chicken, mutton, prawn pieces. Taste was so good and it cost Rs.260

Went for an early lunch and we were the first entrants to the restaurant around 12ish. Ordered the Andhra Chilly Chicken, Andhra spinach chicken for starters, Ordered the Velidis Special Chicken Biryani for the main course as the Mutton version is available only on Fridays and Sundays. The starters were awesome, The Andhra Chilly chicken was succulent, tender, juicy and oozing with flavors with a small tinge of spicyness, the Andhra Spinach Chicken was top notch in terms of the Masala and the taste, Both the starters are a definite winner, The Biryani was very good as well with the Gravy of Tender Succulent Boneless Chicken pieces oozing atop the Biryani, Finally it was a very content and heartful meal with no irritants and a must visit to get a gracious taste of the Andhra Cuisine.
A very spicy restaurant, taking you to andhra itself. Their special chicken briyani is really spicy and it is a must try. Guntur chicken is also quite good. Don’t forget to order an extra cup of curd to cool down your stomach.
Velidis is famous for authentic Andhra cuisine which is extremely (and I mean extremely) spicy.
This place is a must visit on a Friday because that's the only day of the week when they serve the Supreme Chicken Biryani. The biryani rice is flavourful, the chicken is well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The biryani is served on a banana leaf kept on top of a steel plate and is accompanied by raita and a rich gravy.
I also had Bapatla Chicken, a spicy starter which was delicious. The waiter suggested this dish as according to him, this falls into the 'medium spicy' category; however, it is the spiciest starter that I have ever had in my life😛
One thing to note please - If you eat at Velidis, ensure to drink a lot of water for the rest of the day and it'll be a great idea to have coconut water or juices on the next day to detox. Like I said, the food is super spicy🔥🔥

Ordered Briyani along with Starters and Main course for me and my family. The Masala that was served with Briyani was really good and spicy. Egg which was given along with Egg Briyani was Fired for some reason. Guntur Chicken was really spicy and awesome. overall for a Spicy and good taste worth trying

This is my all time favourite place too bad they closed the t nagar branch but I stil order from the DLF branch and it still is awesome I will totally recommend this place to anybody who loves biriyani

The food is authentic Andhra cuisine. They have a decent number of choices for starters and a few different biryanis. The Guntur chicken was really good. The velidis special chicken biryani had a little amount of a gravy on top of the biryani and it went very well with the biryani. Taste of dishes was a little less spicy than usual Andhra restaurants, but did not lose out on taste.
Quantity is standard. Pricing is moderate.
On the whole, it’s a good place to go have tasty Andhra cuisine food.

After my friends suggesting velidis to have the spiciest biriyani, I was scared to try this place. But I should admit that it’s not very spicy like told. Tried their mutton special biryani and the biryani was too good, but the quantity of pieces were less. Their gongura chicken and bapatla chicken were prodigious. Bapatla has the essence made from their spinach origin. It’s a def visit if you love Andhra foods.

Went on busy Friday afternoon for lunch. Its just outside the DLF IT Park exit gate. So parking vehicle is major concerm. After quite long waiting, we got the seat. This is quite unusual in Chennai that for small restaurants u need to wair for longer time. This added to my curiosity. Oedered Velidies special Chicken Biryani and Guntur Chicken, both r boneless. Biryani was just amazing. For the first time in Chennai, I felt like having authentic Hyderabadi Biryani. It was peefect, in terms of qty, taste, flavour. Guntur chicken was also very tasty. Overall it was a good exp. When u have good food, u hardly care about ambience. This is a decent place niether too high niether too low ambience. As most of the ppl come from nearby IT companies, not much suitable for family. If u r planning to visit for lunch, check if u can book table or go early or very late.
I would love to write about their special biriyani that I had yesterday . Taste is good and I can rate 4/5 only bit spicy so people who doesn't eat spicy food for them biriyani will not right decision here😀😀. I had here supreme and Lehri special briyani which was tasty

I ordered two biriyanis through zomato, i paid by visa card. When they came for delivery, they brought only one biriyani and I asked zomato people about this.
Zomato said its hotel's responsibility
Then I called hotel, they said zomatos responsibility.
At last the hotel admitted, its their fault.
It took almost one and half hour, to solve this problem.
I have order in velidis in Zomato many times.Its not that much while getting food through online. But when you visit the restaurant you find the taste to be good

I love this restraurant for their biryani. They are one of the best in the city.
But this weekend I tried their 'guntur chicken curry'. It was very spicy. Thanks for sending extra tissue paper to wipe off my tears while eating. It was having only small 6 chkn piece for Rs 250. I didnt find it worth money. Please atleast improve size of chkn piece. But I hav tried biryani here earlier. Its a must try. Biryani rating is 5/5 at this place. In starter, Chkn 555 is amazing.

Best place to have andhra style spicy foods. One Briyani and starter will fill ur tummy so don't order more and waste food 😜 Guntur Chicken, Apollo Fish are the special dishes which i have tried. Price bit costly but worth the money. Go for it if you r spicy food lover.

In Chennai, there are many Biryani joints but this is MY FAVORITE. I have tried many dishes sorry I don’t have images if visit them next I will upload them, Egg dops, lemon chicken, Guntur Chicken, and Egg fry are my favorites too even veg mixed masala taste good. These are so spicy and still, I can't say it. I just love them a lot.
Place for spicy Andhra cuisine with their velidis special chicken Biriyani and Guntur chicken boneless being the pick. It's sad they moved out of T.Nagar. their only outlet at DLF. If started in the heart of the city like alwarpet, t. Nagar it would be great
One of the best briyani i have ever ate .. ordered prawn briyani and padatha with chettinad chicken gravy.. briyani tasted out of the world. Perfectly cooked rice with chilli masala and ghee flavour. Prawns were in proper consistency. Chicken gravy was too spicy but was good .

Must try if you are a spicy lover. They serve really hot and spicy briyanis. Should try their veldis special chicken briyani. For veggies, try veldis special veg briyani and Veg manchurian balls which is out of the world. Food taste, quality and quantity is awesome. The drawback is always crowd, u should go early as they dont offer reservation. They serve good veg meals also.

Have a liking for spicy andhra food? Then velidies is the place to be. Although they serve amazing food, they are not as famous. The people who work at the DLF IT Park are usually the only ones who know about this restaurant. Located just outside the exit gate of the DLF IT Park, this place gets crazy crowded during the lunch hours on weekdays, so the best time to visit this place would be on a weekend for lunch.

Decent resturant. Hyderabadi Biryani was good. They would charge more than the MRP for water bottle.

Had lunch from Velidis on a few occasions. There's an AC restaurant inside. The dishes taste good but watch out for some of them which are incredibly spicy! E.g. the Guntur chicken starter (shared a snap of it). Keep a
dry powder fire extinguisher handy if you're ordering any of these spicy food. If you're going as a group of 8-10 guys, keep a fire engine on standby.
They do serve soft drinks and desserts. And you're going to need them to gulp the food down.
For Super Spicy and hot biriyani this is the place. Their speciality is the joint chicken biriyani and special veg biriyani. Awesome taste and gets over by 9 pm. Best time to visit would be before to be there by 7pm. The service and ambience is kind of average but all is compensated with price, quality and quantity. If you are not into spicy food dont select this place. No car or bike parking available.
