We (my husband and I ) thoroughly enjoyed our evening out! This place finds the perfect balance between maintaining authentic taste yet satisfying the Indian palate. Pita bread and hummus to die for, super yummy chicken shawarma and kebabs and simply delicious baklava! The ambience and intentional service is just the perfect setting for the awesome food. Looking forward to our next visit, easily my new favourite restaurant in town. Thank you!

This place is brilliant! The menu of exotic. Having stayed in an Arab state for all these years, your menu is a delight to see here in Chennai :) It's like "Finally, someone who knows what Mediterranean cuisine is all about" You give a tough competition to the other restaurants in Chennai that "claim" to serve Arab food. Surely will visit again! :D Thank you Anush and team!

Tucked away in a small street is this gem of a restaurant. Cheerful and well lit I dined here with two vegetarian friends. I am happy to report I relished the vegetarian fare so much that I wasn't tempted to order any non veg. Of course Hummus was high on the list so we sampled the hummus of the day which was a tasty carrot one. We paired that with Muhamurra , accompanied by fresh pitas. We also ordered Fatoush which had toasted bread in it- a really fresh salad. For our main course we chose the thin crust Spinach Lahmajoun topped with chunks of feta. Dessert was a delicious surprise with their amazing Chocolate Torta. So rich and moist we didn't stop at one !! The Baklava was rich and fulfilling as well. Great value for money - Mezze will go a long way. Looking forward to visiting again very soon!!

UPDATE: I informed the restaurant manager about the food the next day, he was very apologetic and there were no further questions asked and simply offered me not to pay for the next order. I found it very reassuring and it was a good gesture. So I'm bumping the restaurant with two more stars. This time I ordered via dineout and I got my 15% off as well.

Old review: Looking at the reviews I was excited to try out this place, ordered a takeaway, lamb shawarma, chicken shawarma and crispy lamb hummus, chicken shawarma was amazing no complaints, however tha lamb shawarma was an absolute disappointment, it tasted so bad I had to throw it away. Since I did a store pick up I couldn't return it.
While billing, I had an option to use my dineout pay to get a 15% off on the bill of 800+, however the waiter simply refused to accept it since he had generated a bill already. Not a great excuse.

I’m writing this review exclusively for the service provided. My ZOMATO order was misplaced. The staff were very understanding and they made sure to deliver my order again personally despite the rain and late hours and vehemently denied any payment. I was very moved by the gesture. And yes, the food was also delicious. Thank you MEZZE. :)

When I found that Mezze was reopening in Alwarpet I was super excited and made a visit. Boy! It was totally worth it.

Ambience - 4/5
Food - 5/5
Service and staff - 4/5
VFM - 5/5

Ambience:

I love the ambience. It’s neat and it isn’t overdone. Love the little detailing on the walls.

Food:

If there’s one place that serves my favourite food hands down, that’s Mezze. On my visit I tried the following:

1. Lamb Sambusa (5/5)

OMG! I’m a fan of this. Piping hot Sambusas with a great taste of lamb. The sauce accompanying the Sambusa is so delicious. Each plate has 3 in it.

2. Roasted chicken with hummus (5/5)

Succulent and well cooked chicken. Can’t believe how well it’s braised. It is just perfect. We ordered extra pitas with this.

3. Harissa chicken (5/5)

I’ve tried the previous two dishes before. But this was my first try of Harissa chicken. And it was great. Loved the marination on the chicken.

Service and staff:

Absolutely friendly and nice.

VFM:

Please visit. If you haven’t tried, you are missing out on some great food. Worth every penny.

Mezze is a fairly small establishment serving scrumptious Middle-eastern cuisine.

The drinks are a tad bit expensive and might not be worth the buck, but the food is sure to leave you awestruck.

The hummus is beautifully consistent, the souvlakis and shawarmas are perfecto! The meat was tender and the accompaniments were on point.

My meal ended with a delightful serving of Baklavas and Kunafa, and I couldn't have asked for better!

Verdict: Might seem expensive, but don't think twice!

SHISH TAOUK
The shish taouk was very juicy and very well flavoured . It was accompanied by the white sauce, pita bread and fries that perfectly balanced the meal making it very delicious and giving all the Arabic vibes .
CHICKEN SHAWARMA
The chicken shawarma was very well cooked and accompanied by pita bread , hummus , white sauce and fries .
CHICKEN SAMBUSA
This was a part of starters and tasted soo damn good . The bread was very crispy and flaky and the filling of chicken just makes you drool . It was very well flavoured and perfect in all aspects . It was served with a fresh yoghurt sauce which gave it a very fresh and soothing feeling .

Definitely one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have been to , ever !! And I have been to a fair number of Mediterranean restaurants . Just amazing food . We ordered Lamb shawarma, Harissa fish , Lamb souvlaki, Chicken lahmajoun from their menu. All of it was very very good .food was presented well too . Quantity was more than adequate too . Cafe Latte and cold coffee was good too . Peach iced tea could have been better .
Service is a bit slow and they ended up billing two cold coffees even though we ordered only one . And something in the back end is a bit amiss , as we have to order the Lamb shawarma twice and Cold coffee thrice before they were served to us . Ambience is quaint . They have enough space to seat around 30 people at the same time . And don't expect to have a quite meal here as the crowd here is young and boistorous , which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the person .

If you are in Chennai and like your Mediterranean fare then this is a must visit place . Food 10/10, Service 7/10, Ambience 7/10, Value for money 9/10 .

Lamb sovlaki was tasty and the dip was refreshing. Baklava and Kunafa for desserts were so yum. The salad was my favorite of the lot. On the whole, a must visit.

A casual dining, middle eastern food joint. They serve both vegetarian and non vegetarian food and I feel they have a good variety in their menu.
I went here for dinner with my friend. We had to wait for about 20 minutes to get a table here.. That kind of made us impatient and hangry. We actually placed our order while waiting for a table. So we didn't have to wait after getting a table.. 😊
We ordered
# Paneer sambusa
# Dukkah Mushroom
# Feta stuffed falafel
# Baklava

Paneer Sambusa had a very crispy exterior (more like the one in samosas) and a very hot and gooey interiors. This was stuffed sufficient with paneer, cheese and onions. Was really tasty along with that orange puree which I guess was harissa sauce.

Dukkah - an Egyptian condiment, hope this contained that.. This dish had a nice texture, the soft and juicy mushrooms and onions with crunchy nuts here and there.. We had this with pita bread and tasted fine..

Feta stuffed falafel was my favorite among all. Feta is a form or type of cheese. This falafel was stuffed with a bit of Feta cheese. Was really tasty along with the pita (flatbread) and hummus (chickpea dip). I would rate this perfect 10. It was the best falafel and pita I have ever had.

I wanted to try Baklava for so long, finally got to savor this delicacy today. This is a dessert mainly dependent or based on pistachios. This was really delicious dessert. It tasted crunchy and had ghee and lots of pistachios and fried cashew nuts.. Great texture and amazing taste.

Overall a must visit restaurant for the amazing Mediterranean food.

The review is completely based on my friend's taste buds and my love for food. (no influence)..

Thank you 🙏

What a great place to hang out! Amazing choice of food on offer as well. Middle Eastern cuisine at it's best. Among other things, we ended up having their Hummus, Chilli Garlic Pita, Paneer Shawarma, Tomato and Basil Pide and the Baklava!

Slightly costly on the pocket as a result of their small serving portions, but overall a wonderful Avenue to the Middle Eastern food journey.

It does get packed on the weekends, so prepare to go there early or you'll have to wait quite a bit. Also, they dont take reservations - A small qualm.

I went here to try out their kunafa. After the much created hype for kunafa, I decided to try it. This place disappointed me with their kunafa. Kunafa wasn't crispy, the layers were very thin and the cheese , sorry I couldn't find any. The other dish I tried out was their Harissa Chicken Mezze. Loved it. The chicken was very well cooked and the masala was yum! The ambiance looked really pretty and aesthetic!

The place has been on my bookmarks for a long time but finally got the time to visit this place. It was pretty crowded due to the weekend but the service here is pretty fast - so the wait time is not so long. Loved all what we ordered - starting off with some yummy Labna of the Day; which was the Peri Peri Labna. Eventhough it was Peri Peri, I did not find it to be spicy but the taste was good. For sides, we went with the Garlic, Parsley and Chilli Pita breads. Again, had a good twist to it - more garlic, but no chilli spice. For mains, we ordered - Grilled Broccoli and Harissa fish. The portion was filling and the taste was really good! In the end, I couldn't wait to order the Baklava - and this was my first try of one. I loved the taste of it and couldn't wait to grab another spoonful! Would go back to this place just for the food and service. Must visit for Middle Eastern food lovers.

Go here and order hummus seperately and pitta bread seperately. You won't be disappointed. We ordered the following 1) Lamb Hummus + Pitta Bread ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Both these dishes have to be ordered seperately. It was the best hummus I have had. Better than what we had in Greece. If you go here these two dishes are a must try. If you are vegetarian just order the plain Hummus. We tried both the normal and cheese pitta bread and both were good although we prefer the normal pitta bread. 2) Lamb Shawarma ⭐⭐⭐⭐ After having the first dish, this dish was a bit of a let down. It was good but not great. 3) Lamb Lhmajoun ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A variation of the lamb Pizza. It was again good not great.

This place was on my bookmark's for quite a while and finally I visited it recently after they have moved to a new location. The place was almost packed and I came to know the reason why a few moments later, until took the first bite of one of their delicacies.

I really love Mediterranean, middle Eastern food though I have not travelled to any middle Eastern countries. I have been to many Arab restaurants in the city and I am really impressed by "Mezze". My personal opinion is that I feel they really strive to serve authentic food with a real middle Eastern touch.

The other thing that really impressed me is their service. I would personally like to appreciate the staff who was serving our table, I wish I could have asked for his name. Though the place was packed and he was damn busy, he kept checking on us to make sure we are enjoying the food.

Finally coming to the food, I seriously don't want to exaggerate. But, honestly the food is damn impressive. I ordered around 8 dishes and we were two people eating it. The quantity was perfect for us and the taste was so good. Each dish had its own taste, flavour and uniqueness.

This is the first time ever I had a baklava experience. After all the cravings for it, seeing so many videos on the internet. Finally got to try it here. Oh Man ! it was an amazing experience. Oh My Baklava, seriously impressed.

I have a few favourite restaurants in the city where I would not mind going multiple times and "Mezze" is one of them now.

Note : I am coming back again soon for the Kunafa, missed to try it.

Keep rocking guys, make people happy with your awesome food.

When I got to know that @mezzemadras had relaunched in a new location, I knew I had to go try it, esp their main dish, Baklava. So despite having dinner elsewhere, I ended up here and found the place to be packed on a Friday night..
The baklava was warm, crispy on the outside with a soft texture on the inside, and of course garnished with a generous load of pistachios and nuts.
Baklavas are completely vegetarian made out of Philo dough, walnuts or pista, cheese if needed.
Based on the owners recommendation, I had a small piece of Kunefe, a cheese based dish with a semolina base and was delicious, with not an overload of sweetness

Note, for those who haven't tried a Baklava or a Kunefe before, it is important to remember that like many Mediterranean (Turkish or Arabic) dishes, these are sweet and requires time to develop the acquired taste. So give it time for the dish to blend in with ur taste buds and you might jus fall in love with it.

The place was nice and had very good ambiance, but since we came to the place very early after the opening of the restaurant at new place we could smell some varnish in the air might be due to interior changes, one suggestion if they could have some air freshener in the place prior to opening time it would be great.

Coming to the Dishes:

We have ordered Chicken Shawarma, Lamb Lahmajoun in the main dish and they were good and especially the Lamb Lahmajoun was very tasty and could feel the spices lingering in the mouth even after a period of time. A suggestion is both the dishes served were not that much hot so a little bit disappointment.

For drinks we had Cold Coffee and Lemon Ice Tea(could see that the prices were little increased than before) they were also good.

And last for the dessert we had Kunafa(Simply Delicious) it was great and little pricy but tastes delicious.

Overall myself and my cousin had a wonderful dining at Mezze will recommend others to visit atleast once.

The place hands down serves good food. Have been here five times, but the last time I wanted to visit(on 8tj Dec 19'), I noticed the venue had changed and the restaurant was under construction when we reached there. I wish this was updated on their Zomato and Google account, but instead it says, it's 'open for order'. I had asked them to update this and they said they will and I noticed that after two days they haven't yet done it. They said the restaurant will open in a week or two.

Food:
Zaatar Fried Chicken – A Panko crumbed chicken with their unique spices served with their signature garlic sauce (tastes almost like mayo); though the meat was thin it was crunchy and fresh
Harissa Chicken – A marinated Chicken breast, grilled and served with a dip, fries, pickled vegetables and pita; the pita was easily the softest I had ever had in my life while the fries were long and spicy enough with the meat. The chicken layers would literally melt as we chow them down
Lamb Souvlaki – The most tender lamb with a hint of garlic, onion and peppers, grilled and served with yoghurt cheese. The lamb couldn’t have been cooked better but could have asked for an alternative dip owing to the blandness of the cheese dip
Spinach Lahmojoun – A thin long pizza on top of which was the sautéed spinach, garlic, cream cheese and feta; the feta dominated most of the bite while the whole meal was sour and rich in green spinach
Baklava – Signature Pastry of the Middle east with nuts, baked and soaked in rose-infused sugar syrup; the syrup was good but the layers with the softness of the sweet in the middle were too good; this is UNIQUE
Chocolate Ganache Cake – A typical soft brownie with the hot sauce poured and flowing down the hill; very sweet and had a great texture to end the meal with

Ambience/Price:
This place has got great lighting but limited seating. Off-street parking shouldn’t be an issue and the service too was courteous and commendable. Price? Yes, it is on the higher side but can try once since they’ve got great Middle-eastern flavours which are hard to find in Chennai.

*Personal rating would be a 4.5

Food: 4.5/5
Ambiance: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Pricing: 4/5

Must go for: Paneer Shawarma
What to have: Falafel, Hummus

Heard alot about this place so finally decided to try it out. Didn't expect too much though with the cuisine listed as Middle Eastern but all that changed with the first bite.

Food:
Feta Falafel - 4/5 - stuffed with feta and served with hummus; very tasty.
Paneer Shawarma - 5/5 - YUM!! A must for paneer lovers. Flavourful marination and extremely soft paneer. I was very close to ordering a second plate.
Harissa Sambusa - 3/5 - some variant of samosa; so so...
Roast chicken with hummus - 4.5/5 - I am a vegetarian but my best friend thoroughly enjoyed the chicken; tender and nice mild flavour.

Ambience - A house converted into a restaurant; little cramped. My table was right next to the counter which was a big turn off.

Service - Average, nothing to write home about.

Pricing - Given the tatse of food, totally worth it.

Do go give it a try and I am sure you won't be disappointed with the taste of food!

I'm a person who is really fond of middle eastern cuisines and mezze has definitely gained my expectations.
Dishes we ordered had the originality taste and super delicious.
Highlight of our order was the Lamb lahmajouns which was smokingly awesome. Not to forget about Harrisa chicken which had this flavour hitting our taste buds. Each item on that dish plate was cooked and tasted really good.
Vegetarian dishes were equally delicious, both Paneer shawarma and Feta filled Falafel.
Do try the very berry iced tea as well.

Definitely would suggest for a second visit!

We ordered Lamb Kofta Kebabs. While the koftas were tasty, they were raw and pasty in texture. The meat was not cooked through at all.
Also, I found the food too salty. They have to reduce the salt content in all the dishes. The Hummus was excellent but the crispy lamb topping was extremely salty.
Roast Chicken was well marinated and juicy. The labna and Tsatziki tasted fresh.
Tasty food, good quantity and value for money.
BUT they have to ensure their minced Lamb in dishes like Koftas and Kibeh are cooked. Our Lamb Kofta Kebabs were RAW and PASTY !

Located on a quaint lane in R.A Puram (Chennai), Mezze is a tiny colourful place that serves a range of Mediterranean food with a simple easy-to-read menu. The restaurant, located at the ground floor of the Wandering Artist Studio, lends a homely vibe with painted walls and minimal decor. For the starters, we opted for the Zaatar Fried Chicken, served with toume (Lebanese garlic sauce). The crumbly dish had a subtle flavors of Zaatar spice mix while the chicken had a juicy texture that blended well with the toume.

The place is simply amazing. The food, the ambience, the ambience basically everything about the place is great except for the low seating capacity. Been there many times especially with my parents as being the typical gulf mallus this food brought back a lot of fond memories and flavours for them. This is the place to get authentic Lebanese food in Chennai. Their lamb souvlakis, shish taouks, shawarmas and lahmajouns are all to die for. Even their salads are really delicious, an adjective I generally don't associate with salads. The only dessert I've tried there was the baklava which wasn't really that impressive. The pricing is decent, not too cheap yet not too costly considering the food quality and the amounts they serve. The only downside is you can't book a table and more often that not during dinnertime you might have to wait, sometimes even for an hour, to get a table. But in life you must have patience for good things so I can live with that.

A small and cozy cafe which my friends and I visited on a Friday evening. We specifically wanted to try some mediterranean food and chose Mezze.

The ambience was great and gave me a homely feel.
We had ordered some chicken hummus, dijaj chicken salad, chicken lahmajoun, paneer lahmajoun and harissa fish. Out of them all, the harissa fish was the best ever. The fish was so well cooked with the right amount of spices and it just melted in my mouth. I would visit this place again just for the harissa fish.

Been to this place so many time now, finally sharing the review 😅 🍲 Food - simply wow, so many times have visited but can never get over it's taste - have tried Lamacuns (it's their pizza version, however, much more healthier, must try), Harissa Chicken, Chicken mandi rice (my personal fav) and do try their lemonades - Lemon Grass, it's really yumm 🥤 🍽️ Service - pretty quick, no complains, some times give pretty good suggestions as well 🪻Ambience - small place, beautifully built. Mostly full, better to go at odd timings if you want to avoid the waiting. 💕 Overall - can never get over this place, personally one of my fav go to place. Whenever want to eat some good non veg food I come here, plan to keep doing so in the future as well ✨

Had falafel, Chicken Shawarma, Lamb Shawarma, Arabian Mandi Rice, Prawn Lamacun, Lotus Biscoff pull out cake and classic Kunafa. The restaurant is tucked right after taking a cut from the main road and falls after a Star Bucks store. Love the decor, it has cute paintings of camel walking in the desert and some colored plates on the wall that gave out colorful happy vibes. I have been to Dubai and didn't have a chance to eat the local cuisine much so was craving to have authentic ones which was fulfilled by Mezze. The seating capacity is decent but if you are going in a large group, it's better to maybe reserve in advance if on the weekends. The food tastes great, ambience was amazing and even the waiters there was patient and hardworking. Loved the overall experience

This is one of the most popular places for Mediterranean cuisine in Chennai. It was on my list for quite sometime and finally visited. We started with Chicken Lamacun (3.5/5) which was more like a thin crust pizza, the flavours were good though. Next we had Chicken Shawarma (4/5) which was one of the most recommended items, the flavours were subtle and the chicken was well cooked, Itwas paired with hummus, Mayonnaise and fries. We also had Chicken Souvlaki (2.5/5) - It was basically chicken skewers paired with 2 dips, fries and salad. Somehow I didn't like the flavours used for marination as they were too strong. Finally, the star item of the day was the dessert - Rose Milk Cake (5/5), the cake was very soft and the rose milk base was also very good. Overall, I would say, It is a good experience but nothing out of the world (except the rose milk cake) from this so called the best Mediterranean restaurant in Chennai.

Mezze is one of my favourite places as they serve middle eastern food. I am a huge fan of their hummus and pita bread. I would say they serve the best pita bread in Chennai. It's so soft and melting in our mouth. I tried the beetroot hummus for the first time yesterday and I think the flavour has just stuck to my tongue. I also tried the rose milk cake for the first time as I am a huge fan of rose milk and the cake was like a sponge and yummmmy.. I had no comments yesterday because I was mind blown by their consistency and flavour.

Went there on Sunday. All the dishes were pretty good. Pita Chips with any kind of hummus is a must try. We also got their signature Masala Fries which were also good. For Dessert, we got the Rose Milk Cake, which was very fluffy and Baklava with Ice Cream. Their Rose Milk was also pretty nice.

One of my favourite places in town! I've been here over 4 times and I keep going back :) you have to wait to get seated but the food speaks for itself :) Went here recently and was happy to see the food was still good and there was no compromise on the quality. Service was good as well
