We ordered veg meals, chapati, Appam and veg stew. I loved the taste of all of it.
Very important thing right now is the cleanliness that has to be maintained and they are doing it perfectly.
For paying more than 200 for a veg meal they could add an extra poriyal (side dish) as I felt that just one aviyal, poriyal and pickle with applam was not worth for 200 plus.
I was very satisfied with the taste though.
A place full of authentic Kerala food. Interior is fully customized in a traditional malayali style.Ambience is nice and clean and staffs are very responsive. Prices are on the higher side but if you are a fan of fish foods blindly go for it. Nethili fry and Tender coconut ice cream is a must try.
Had to visit this place for the comments that I received from many
Ambience: 3/5 too small and we will have to wait to get a table
Staff: 5/5 very courteous
Budget friendly: 2/5 quite expensive for the quantity
Food: 5/5 tickles ur taste buds 😉
Should visit this place for the comments heard !!

Food:
Veg Meals/Ghee rice – Typical meals to begin the HULK SMASH mode; it was an unlimited meal with gravies, curries etc. Every single dish tasted home-made, GREAT
.
Naadan Kozhi Curry & Kozhi Nei roast – A semi-gravy chicken cooked in coconut oil(?) with great spice; the latter was almost dry and had more of the secret spices, literally melts in the mouth with the ghee; the texture along with every bite in both was to die for
.
Appam/Egg Appam – Best appam ever; slightly sweet but there lied the kick; very soft and fresh
.
Pathiri/Malabar Parotta – Thinnest pancake went well with both gravies; the parotta too was soft and had no visible raw taste
.
Erachi Choru – A beef rice with tender meat and unique spices; yet again the gheey taste was very evident and satisfying
.
Thalaserry Mutton Biryani – Typical Kerala style Biryani with layer by layer segregation; mix well to get the best out of it; mild-spiced full of flavours
.
Meen Maanga Curry & Meen varuthathu – Definitely one of the best with a sweet and sour kick from the raw mango; it was so authentic with fresh pieces of Seer fish; the latter was very soft, fried well and had the unique aroma along with every bite
.
Atterachi chaaps – Yet again one of the best dishes at this place with spicy gravy and juicy meat; almost boneless so the flavours were complete and enjoyable
.
Pazham Pori – Hot banana fry; crispy on the out but so sweet and can try out with ice-creams too
.
Tender Coconut/Jackfruit Ice-cream – The best dish of the night; it was literally like they had mixed up pieces of the fruit with the ice-cream; fantabulous with a fresh taste, I just can’t get enough
Ambience/Price:
Pretty cool lighting with sufficient seating space; people who served were always on their toes eventually a pleasant experience; Valet parking is available.
Speaking about price; this place is worth every penny. Definitely one of the must-visit places for all food lovers
Good place to have authentic mallu taste - Fish and appams are a must try - try their wrapped in banana fish stew - heavenly
That Mallu Joint takes you right into the cozy homes of Kerala.
We had a wonderful Saturday brunch with great vibes and Malayali music in the background.
About the food:
- Their Kallappam is like a warm hug from your mother. Don't miss it.
- The beef ularthiyathu is a must-try.
- Looks can be deceiving when it comes to their mutton biriyani—which looks like it's bland but turns out to be a flavor bomb!
- The sambar that comes with their veg meals is as authentic as it can get.
- Their parotta has that perfect "cripsy on the sides and soft on the inside" texture.
- The puttu, appam, and pathri are so flavorful by themselves that you don't even need a side dish. But I have to say, their thenga paal is divine!
- Finally, their tender coconut ice cream is one of the best ones out there.
What could be better?
The portion sizes could be be improved, hence the 4 stars.
Ps: There was 15 minute wait on Saturday. So, it's best to reserve in case you're visiting on weekends.
It was a peaceful lunch. We went on a Thursday afternoon. Not crowded, calm and relaxed ambience. We ordered Kandhari Panneer, Prawn Porichathu and Nadan Kozhi roast for the starters. Panneer was excellent and very delicious - sauted in coconut oil with garlic and coconut milk - Never Miss this!. Prawns were super soft and tasty.
Ordered Malabar Biriyani, Parotta and Egg Aappam for the main course. Biriyani was okish. Both parotta and Appam were very soft and good. We had Chicken Nei Roast, Mutton curry for sides and repeated Kandhari Panneer for the Aappam - still mouth watering while writing the review 😊
Some of the desserts were not available and so ended with some Soda items and Tender coconut icecream.
A dont miss out place! The best pair is their Kandhari Panneer and the Aappam.
Portion size is bit less - area to improve.
That Mallu Joint - Very Good Ambience and Very Tasty Kerala Food 😊
Mallu joint was there in my bookmarks forever and then came one day when it was an impromptu plan.
This place is quite confusing, cos the maps actually guide you through tye wrong route, but we finally managed to find it since we're pretty familiar with the route.
The menu is simple with good traditional dishes from the mallu land :p
We ordered Prawn porichathu for starters. Taste was brilliant, you could literally get the aroma of the prawn in the coconut oil that was deep fried in. For mains, we tried the ghee rice, Manga meen curry and thalasherry mutton Biriyani. Ghee rice and manga meen curry is a match made in heaven. The combination is just wow, and the manga meen curry was just out of the world. I'm an ardent fan of fish curry cooked especially in Kerala style, but this is something that I've had something in my life for the first time. Thalasherry mutton Biriyani was good. Mutton was soft cooked and tender but could have had more pieces of it.
I'm usually a Chocolate person and this time I decided to have something that's different and opted for Tender coconut ice cream and my friend decided to have Payasam which keeps changing according to the day. Tender coconut ice was fresh and yummy, but tad but expensive for one scoop. Paruppu Payasam was sweet and delicious.
We were billed ₹1184 for the above.
The food was Soo nice. Some notable are fish moilee, prawn porichathu and chicken... Thalasary Briyani was not good. Overall we enjoyed the food....
Very good ambience. Staffs are good. Quick service. Tasty Kerala food.
They serve very homely traditional food. The staff were very genuine and friendly. The beef fry was outstanding. Wish they could have had more dessert options.
My second visit to this place. One of the must try in Anna nagar region
Location - located in Anna nagar 2nd avenue. This avenue is filled with lots of restaurants, but when you are travelling from cmbt or Mogappair, this will be the first prominent restaurant.
Parking - Ample parking space for around 6 cars is available in front of the restaurant.
Ambience - Ambience is trendy and youthful. The seats in the front area are more brightly lit than the ones inside.
Can accommodate around 60 people at a time.
When we visited, there was work going on in upstairs.
Pricing - bit on higher end.
Food - we were impressed right from the soup, served hot and on the Table - thyme infused chicken soup and Green brocolli broth - both tasted yum.
Service - service was good.
Ambience - 5/5
Rating - 4/5
Food-4.5/5
Drinks - 4/5 (based on friends who visited with us)
Service - 4/5
Pricing -5/5
The overall experience was very nice ... lovely ambience , and the staff were very friendly and forthcoming, giving us useful recommendations. The food was just too good , and the food items were very reasonably priced! Chennai usually not known for “value for money “ experience, but this restaurant definitely has changed my opinion. Very well run place , kudos to the service and kitchen teams for making our experience worthwhile, well done !
Went there yesterday for lunch with wife . Place was crowded . After wait time of 10mins got a comfortable seat . Ordered for Chennai(yam) fry and squid fry. Loved the finger chips like fry. For main course ordered kozhi ghee roast and meen manga curry along with 2 portions of white rice ( yes you have to order rice separately but that's ok ). Both wife and myself absolutely loved the meen curry with was coconut milk based I think . Kozhi ghee roast was absolute stunner . Loved the ghee flavoured gravy. Finished off with rasam ( ordered separately again ). Ordered payasam for dessert but later was told it got over. No complaints . Theres haji Ali juice centre at the entrance . Overall wonderful lunch experience . Will come back another time to try a different item on the menu.
It would've been a 5* experience if it wasn't for the bad prawn fry which had a such small quantity and small in size where it didn't justify the price they were charging for it.
The manager when asked about it was not so friendly and sarcastic in a way and returned the amount the charges but still he didn't take the suggestion rather he was very bitter.
Except the above two points the food was quite yummy especially the beef roast which was amazing!
Wanted to check this place for quite some time, but finally got to visit recently. “That Mallu Joint” is probably the best option for Malu Cuisine in town. This place is neatly placed with ample car parking bang on GN Chetty Road in Tnagar and the ambience of the restaurant is quite well made. The staff are very courteous with an interesting choice available in their Menu.
We were 2 and we chose to have Parotta, Chicken Kandari and Thalaserry Mutton Biryani which costed 750 inclusive of Tax.
Parottas were Fluffy, Crisp and freshly made.
Chicken curry was flavoured very well with the right mix of spice and salt.
Biryani tasted delicious while the quantity of meat was not up to the mark.
Overall the experience was phenomenal and is a place which can be visited again. I definitely felt the place had better ambiance,Spread, taste and staff when compared to Kumarakom and better priced as compared to Ente Keralam.
Visited this place on a weekday for lunch.. Was pretty crowded..

Finally in after good reviews from Malayalee's for its authenticity. #BEEF @ it's #BEST ❤️
#PAROTTA - #BEEF_ROAST - #SQUID - #TAWA_FISH.
Complimentary #Coconut_IceCream on my REQUEST. 😉 Will be back to taste the Rest 😳
It was on demand for Kerela cuisine so I have to take my gang there. Even though I heard good feedback about this place. We were quite late for dinner and hungry too after a tiresome shopping. Got the tables free and the service also quick. We had a great dinner with different varieties of food. To start with ▪️ Naadan Kozhi Curry. Spicy chicken pieces fried with spices.
▪️Chemeen kurumulagu. Crunchy prawns. Tasted so fresh and clean.
Moving on to the main course we had quite a lot options. Straight away we selected ▪️Puttu and we combined it with ▪️Kadala curry, which made it a perfect kerelian combo and literally we loved it so much. Thanks to the staff who suggested this for us.
Next ordered ▪️ White rice, ▪️Egg Appam, Malabar parotta and Kallappam which again made a combination with ▪️ Kandahari Kozhi Curry and ▪️Meen maanga curry.
The white rice along with the meen maanga curry is one of the best combo we had. Loved the food preparation. Fish pieces were so tender and fresh. Gravy was just delicious. A must try dish for fish lovers.
And you can also combine egg Appam or the parotta with Kozhi Curry. It's another such delicious food combination. Loved the preparation. Not that spicy but too tasty.
A fine dinner experience I got from this place. Good ambiance, quick service and courteous staffs to make you feel great. Even the interior is colourful and well maintained.
Food quality is maintained as per the pricing is concerned. One can enjoy an authentic Kerela cuisine here.
An authentic Malayali restaurant was something that I was on the lookout for, for a long time. A soothing , visually and aesthetically cozy ambience was also a major prerequisite. Surfing through Zomato , That Mallu Joint appeared to be fulfilling both the parameters. But as I always believe , the greatest testament to an assertion is your own eyes ( and tastebuds).
Ambience- 5/5. Indeed quite good. Located at a very prompt location in the city, easily accessible, with a upholstered interior , adorned with some classical Keralite ( apparently, not sure), handicrafts; indeed visually quite appealing.
Service- 4.5/5:- Moderately fast with a courteous staff, but what I slightly disliked was that they were in a hurry to serve all the dishes all at once. Not withstanding the fact that I ordered for only four of them, a slight interval between the starter and main course was desirable.
FOOD:- 1. Koonthal Thenga Kothu(Calamari) :- 5/5. Lip smacking. A real treat to the taste buds. Have tasted Squid a no of times before, but this one was simply OUTSTANDING in every respect, be it in terms of consistency, flavour, spices , was completely flawless.
2. Malabar Porotta - 4/5. Was certainly good and didnot have any defect. But it wasn't that overwhelming or extraordinary like the previous dish. Was just okay and good.
3. Atterachi(Lamb) Chaaps - 4.5/5 . Very Good. Not exaggerated with spices, yet full of flavour with well cooked chunks of soft lamb. It carried a pure Malabar vibe, which I experienced so authentically for the first time.
4. Tender Coconut Icecream- 2.5/5 . Sorry to say, but unlike the many other reviews on this app , I wasn't very happy with this particular desert. I have tasted tender Coconut Icecream at many places all over the country, but this one was completely ordinary. Infact the aroma of tender Coconut was not very poignantly evident. And what I really detest is the quantity of icecream they serve for the amount they charge. Just a single moderate scoop for this amount is really not worth it, according to me.
So overall, That Mallu Joint is certainly recommendable to all the Malayali food lovers out there, but an expectation of awe and exuberance out of every single dish is not to be made.
That Mallu Joint introduced me to flavours of Kerala and more importantly, it made me fall in love with the food!
The reasonable pricing, uncompromised quality on flavours and great service are reasons to go back over and over 😁
The food has no taste or aroma of Kerala cuisine. It is nothing like Kerala food. Overpriced for what they provide.
That authentic Kerala taste.. The best in Chennai. The food, ambience, service everything deserve 5 ⭐. Loved to being there to enjoy our Kerala tastes..
Absolutely loved the food here!!
To hav some light food visit this place , all the foods tasted really well but it didn't made the heaviness.
Special mention to the Tendercocnut icecream, and the Khandari kozhi kari . Missed having fish ther.
1500 rs for three good eaters .
Will visit again for sure for the Calmness of the place and their taste ❤❤❤
Pretty small menu but their food makes up for it. Had the yam fry and mushroom fry for starters. They were both really crispy and amazing. Had egg appams and the Alappuzha veg gravy and another chicken gravy. One of the best appams I've had. It had the right hint of sweetness , was soft and a little crispy on the outside. The gravies were really yum too. Would definitely go again.
Superb superb food! Ambience & location is good, staff is friendly as well.
We tried the prawn porichatu (4/5), Meen fry (4/5) for starters. Both were mildly spicy and tasted fresh.
For main course we ordered Kozhi Nei roast , which was delicious (4.5/5) and the attirachi chaap (3.5/5). The mutton chaaps were just okay though the mutton was tender & well cooked.
The malabar parota was heavenly! Crisp from outside & soft from inside, you cannot stop at just one. We also ordered the ghee rice which was noce as well.
Also to mention, a pocket friendly place & quick service
All in all, true to their name of serving God’s own flavours :)
It was my first trial of Kerala food and I wasn't disappointed at all. I had very few options in vegetarian food though.
Food : 8/10
I had Maanga Curry and Veg Ishtew (I don't remember the exact name) with Appam and Ghee rice.
Payasam for dessert - it wasn't that great
Ambience : 8/10
So pleasing
Service : 7/10
So slow
Well speaking about the ambience, the quaint chairs and melodious mallu songs would definitely lighten up your mood.the place was quite crowded and noisy.one of the best Thalassery mutton biryanis available in Chennai. Personally felt the quantity of rice could have been more..there were around 4-5 succulent pieces of well cooked mutton..The service was a bit slow.. Hoping that they would introduce chicken Biryani on the menu soon
Statutory warning: After eating lunch here it is impossible to work. 😊👍
We ordered a chicken starter, chicken stew and a Kaandhari chicken curry plus appams and parottas. All cooked home style with relatively less oil - delicious. The starter was fiery and the stew a bit on the sweeter side. The curry was wonderfully spiced. The parottas were not too oily and the appams were fluffy. Reasonably priced and quick service.
The downsides: 2nd floor, single lift, single loo. Worthwhile to walk up an appetite and walk down to digest.
Overall, definitely on the must visit list.
I want to say my tummy was happy and had the best time with such amazing food.
Beef roast and appam were so delicious but I have to mention the mango meen curry which was lip smacking yummilious! I had it with puttu and this combination is underrated!
We ordered the tender coconut icecream with the sugar dipped appam. Such a unique dessert and worth every penny. Never felt so content at the end of the meal. I will talk highly of this place and we will come back for more and more.
Oh, yes, the vendekka fry is the best starter I had for a veg course. Just top notch!
Had lunch with family at That Mallu Joint..We had a warm welcome by the team.. The menu is to the point and is priced reasonable.
The food was good, everything right from meals to the fish Molly, Thawa grilled prawns and the beef rice is a must try. Meals came with yummy thick Sambar, Buttermilk curry and rasam. Their avial, kootu, poriyal was well prepared. If u love Malabar
Biryani their thalassery mutton biryani is a must try. And to finish off their tender coconut ice cream is creamy and yummy..
Parking -Yes
Interiors - Great and stylish
Food portions - Good
Price - Worth every penny
Good ambience! Food was good
We had ghee rice, Mutta roast, Malabar parota, manga meen gravy, erachi roast, egg aappam and fish fry and Adapradaman
All were good
But fish was bit oily and appam was lil bit
Pricing is ok for all but payasam quantity was very less
A small nook with a simple yet elegant decor...and not very heavy on pocket too. Loved the kairi salad they served before meal ...such crisp fresh and lil spicy ones ..amazing paneers starter as well as veg stew with appam...but my fav was fish wrapped in banana leaves. . good portion food and great suggestion by the guy serving us..!!
Looking for some Mallu food? Look no further! Head for “That Mallu Place” in T. Nagar.
The interiors are simple & the menu is not too elaborate & confusing.
For the starters we ordered Potato Porichattu & Tawa Grilled Prawns – both were delicious.
Meen Manga Curry, Malabar Kozhi Curry & Erachi Ularthiyathu boasted authentic Kerala flavours.
For vegetarians, suggest the Alleppey Veg Curry with Ghee rice.
The parathas were light & fluffy, the Egg Appams & Puttu were a delight.
The meal was rounded off with excellent Tender Coconut Ice Cream & Jackfruit Ice Cream
Staff are polite & attentive & the service was quick!
Plus point – valet parking is available!
Definitely recommend this restaurant – its easy on the wallet as well!!
Loved the food and the place. Slow service though which was kind of a little unpleasurable. The nei kozhi with paratha was damn good. The veg meals was pretty amazing and the coconut ice cream was the star of the meal.
A lovely food experience indeed and a must visit place!
Fine dining restaurant located in T.Nagar above Starbuck's.... Food was brought to the table at swift speed..
First things that comes to mind about Kerala cuisine is coconut flavour which slightly lacked in Mallu Joint, but who cares if they provide appetizing dishes in their own style..
•Prawn porichathu-Deep fried prawns, little oily but masala was excellent.
•Naadan kozhi roast- Semi dry, chicken was soft and perfectly spiced.
•Atterachi Stew- Personal favourite, Tender mutton pieces and strong coconut flavour.
•Erachi roast - Gravy was superb but the beef taste was subsided by the gravy.
•Parotta- Flaxy , crispy but soft that how parotta should be
•Egg appam was good
•Ghee rice was not satisfying we thought it lacked flavour.
•Tender coconut icecream was decent.
One good place to have some delicious Kerala cuisine
Kandhari prawns and kandhari paneer was soo delicious and a must try one ..!
Fish fry was very average and dint like much
Malabar paratha , egg curry was soo good
Thalasery biriyani was good ..!
Price was high compared to the portions served ..!!
Ambiance was good
Good service
Recommended 😁

Good mallu food! Beef roast was good. Parotta and chicken gravy’s were good. Ghee rice with beef chops 👍
Food at the Mallu Joint clicked all the right notes- perfectly cooked Seafood something not evryone can deliver. Ordered three dishes -
Prawn pepper fry which was deep fried crunchy but soft and not chewy. I was amazed at the cooking skill. Many top class eateries cant pull this off.
Prawn roast in Coconut milk- This simple dish is cooked merely in garlic pepper and coconut milk. The taste it delivered was beyond my expectation. M a digger for red gravy, but the sight of a white dish raised my eyebrows but was shocked to discover the taste and the softness of prawns again. Hats off to the chef.
Prawn cooked with mango- Perfectly spiced, mildly tangy and butter soft prawn served with ghee rice and papaddam. It was so good that i over ate.
A mention to be made of the malabar parotta, crispy and soft at the same time . Ordered a chicken dish which was overshadowed by the taste of the prawn dishes.
Weekend dinner done right .

Did our Christmas lunch here. The fish mouli and beef fry is awesome
I tried Beef roast and poratta, poratta was super soft and flaky and beef rost was good and ordered Erachi Choru (Beef) and tiger prawns. Erachi choru was good but tiger prawns were below average. It is a good spot for people who love kerala food.
Authentic Kerala cuisine restaurant. Must try foods are Thalaserry Mutton biryani, Chemmen Kurumilagu fry, Tender coconut ice cream..
Situated right above Starbucks, this place is a hidden gem in T.Nagar. Been to this place ever since they soft launched it, and it only seems to be getting better each time. This is my third visit to this restaurant with my friends and hence we decided to visit this place unanimously for dinner on a Sunday. Parking for cars here can be a hassle, however since there's Valet parking, there shouldn't be much of a problem. The restaurant is pretty large and the ambience is contemporary, well done and looks more like a resto lounge. It could be my perception but the setup of the interiors bear a resemblance to "Kappa Chakka Kandhari". The staff were courteous and humble. We were handed out the menu. The items on the menu were limited but it makes sure it has something for everyone. We settled for #SeerFishFry, #MuttonChaaps, #KozhiNeiRoast, #WheatParotta, and #Appam. This is also one of the few places that serve food on banana leaf which is neatly cut out in the shape of your plates. The Kozhi Nei Roast seems to be the signature dish of this place as it is unlike anything I have tasted elsewhere. The chicken was tender, juicy and marinated well. The mutton chaaps was very delicious too. The pieces were very soft and tender. The gravy was very thick and rich in spices and it certainly goes well with both appam and parotta. The appam was fluffy and soft and the taste of coconut milk just makes it all the more tempting. The wheat parotta was crispy, layered and was delicious as well. The final delight to our dinner came in the form of #TenderCoconut (or #Elaneer) ice cream. It was divine and the best I had tasted in the recent times. This is one dessert that I would blindly recommend everyone to try. Was amazed by the pricing of the dishes. They are rightly priced for the quantity served and my friends and I had a debate on the quantity served. But I think this idea seems to be working. Increase in quantity would lead to an increase in price thereby making it pricey. Just for the record, my friends who visited this place with me are not from Kerala, and yet they loved the cuisine and have been visiting it regularly ever since. Overall a place to visit to taste the authentic Kerala cuisine and for their Tender coconut Ice cream. But sadly, they run out of this dessert more often than not, by dinner time. I could taste it only twice out of the three times I visited
Great Kerala food . Loved the ambience and service .
Mutton stew : 9.5/10 wow superb it was . Tender juicy mutton pieces and a rich stew .
Beef fry :8/10 not the way I expected . But tasty and good quantity as well .
Parotta : 9/10 super flaky soft Kerala parota. Enjoyed it .
Aappam : 7/10 soft and good. But a malayalee restaurant appam must be even softer and tastier
Over all great experience. Loved it .
Has become a fav spot to visit whenever in Chennai! Though the menu seems to be limited, food is amazing and good service.
Favourite would be their nethli fry, appam and manga fish curry. For dessert - tender coconut ice cream!
In recent times, i have been more cravings to Kerala cusinie. One of my friends suggested that mallu joint. So, i went today dinner. In simple terms, it's worthy 😁. Especially their Malabar Parotta and Erachi Roast were amazing 😍. Malabar parotta is so soft, flaky and big in size. No comments, for Erachi Roast. I was mesmerized after having Erachi Roast with Malabar Parotta. I Ordered Egg appam, taste wise it's good and we comes to dessert it's coconut ice cream.. After a long time I had a feel of having nice Kerala cusinie dishes 🔥🔥
I never tried any Kerala cuisine in chennai. That mallu joint is my first try and it didn’t fail to amaze me. Only disappointment - There was no fish available during our visit. Rest of the dishes ordered by us were so good.
Food we tried:
Chemmeen porichathu
Naadan kozhi roast
Kandhari paneer
Nei choru
Malabar parotta
Erachi roast
Kandhari kozhi curry
Worth for money. Quantity was sufficient not huge.
Although I have been to your restaurant a few times this is my first review. One word - FABULOUS. Your seafood (fish & prawns), puttu-kadala, aaapam-stew are all great choices we relished. Keep up your quality. I have indeed recommended your restaurant to many of my friends.
Our experience at That Mallu Joint was excellent. Firstly the ambience was very pleasing. The service was good. The food was super tasty and pleasant on the stomach. Not too greasy or oily. It was a bit low on the spice front but still good enough. Would definitely recommend getting the aapam and mutta roast. They taste the best! The paneer starter is pretty decent too.
A really great place to dine and enjoy a nice meal with your family. The restaurant is located in the second floor and has a lift facility. There is no seperate parking area, so cars have to be parked on the roadside.
Pros:
1. The food was delicious and authentic Kerala style. We had ordered the Kerala parotta with kadala curry which was delicious. The parotta was nice and flaky and the kadala curry had the right amout of spice with the rich flavors of coconut. We had also ordered chicken roast, pepper prawns, beef rice, chapatti and tender coconut ice cream...and I must say all the dishes were beyond our expectations.
2. The ambience was really good and really gave a cosy feeling.
3. The staff were very polite and even apologized when our order was delayed.
Cons:
1. The price is comparatively expensive.
2. The menu is limited to a handful of authentic Kerala dishes. Don't expect any non Kerala dishes on the menu.
3. The portion sizes are very small. That was biggest downside for me. I hope they increase the portion size for the starters.
4. The order delivery time is very slow... It took over half an hour to get our first dish.
All in all, loved all the dishes but was a bit unhappy with the portion sizes.
Authentic. Simple. Good food
Visited "That Mallu Joint" for dinner.
The Restaurant:
1. The ambience is simple and feel good place for all time dining. The washroom and handwashing area is kept clean.
2. Menu is simple. Just kerala food and not complicated.
3. Options for vegetarians are limited, and a spread of non veg to choose from.
4. Friendly staff and quick service.
5. The restaurant is located in T. Nagar (above Starbucks) and can be easily located.
6. Ample car and bike parking space.
Food 🥝:
We tried a spread of non veg for dinner. All items were fresh and tasted good.
1. Beef roast - Tasted great and soft pieces. Juicy.
2. Kerala parotta - fluffy and light weight parottas. Not oily.
3. Nei meen - star of the night. Best fish and tasted too good. Perfectly cooked and fried
4. Beef ularthiyathu or Erachi ularthiyathu - perfect starter.
5. Kandhari chemmeen - good flavour from prawns
6. Elaneer icecream - good
The food quantity is sufficient and none of the food were oily.
Price - but pricey 😐
"That Mallu Joint" - ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/5
A decent dining place to enjoy with loved ones with good food
