Had 4 varieties of ice-cream. Nalen Gur was absolute bliss! Not a big fan of paan but still it tasted really good. Not to miss out Tender coconut is a must try!

We ordered nolen Gur, tender coconut, musk melon and watermelon ice cream. Everything was nice but nolen Gur is a must try! The ambience is not so good and the place is not enough to accommodate more people at a time but, the staff was nice.
Natural and tasty ice-cream. I was a bit judgemental with the rates( a little expensive) but after tasting the ice-cream i felt it's worth the money! Paan, chickoo, tendercoconut and a sugarfree variety all tasted delicious. I would love to try their other flavours soon..

Fell sick.... Badly sick😷 but.. was craving for some frozen desserts.... couldn't go and buy..hence wanted ordered... Felt like having something from team stone unfortunately they don't take online orders... and I found this outlet and I saw their menu looked great...so I orders for 2 sugar free vanilla ice cream and one chocolate hazelnut ice-cream..
And they had delivered on time... I was happy to see the ice cream hadn't melted off and the reason was.. yes they were quick..but also a gel frozer pack came along with the food to ensure the ice creams are not frozen...I haven't ordered ice cream online till date..so I felt it was brilliant way to make their customers happy ... Loved it...
Taste of the ice creams were good...the hazelnut was a personal favourite...and it was just the way I thought... But the quantity was to less for the cash paid...
Anyways I had all the 3 and... Had my ice cream yesterday and today... walked out from office due to terrible fever... lol... Atleast I got a half day off..from work..

Had vanilla, chocolate vanilla, paan, kesari rabri malai and the much hyped nalen gur. All the flavors were good and have uniquely distinct taste compared to regular ice creams you get elsewhere. I particularly liked chocolate and vanilla flavors. I was initially unhappy with the quantity, but realized there is an option to choose family packs as well. Maybe I would explore that option next time when I sample few more flavors.
Cream Stone was always my place for ice creams... but then a friend told me about this place in Thiruvanmiyur that gives natural flavoured ice creams and we visited... Ambience was small and descent enough.... They had all different fruit flavours like Custard Apple, Jack Fruit, Water Melon, Banana, Mango, Tender Coconut and a lot more.... My personal favorite was Banana Caramel... looked costly but I feel that's okay coz it's natural unlike other ice cream shops !!!!
Ordered nalen gur , vanilla and chickoo ice cream and had it home delivered. The delivery was quick and the nalen gur was tasty. Vanilla and chickoo were also nice. Overall a good place to order ice creams.
When roaming around thiruvanmaiyur we came across this shop & we decided to give it a try.. We simply asked for their specialty ice cream and the guy in counter said everything is special here as the ice creams are natural and showed the list of top selling ice creams..so we decided to go with that.. we ordered for tender coconut and Banana Caramel crunch.. both the ice creams are simply awesome.. we just enjoyed each scoop.. small scoops 90 Rs. bit costly but tasty is good so worth the money.. Recommend everyone to try..

I've been here a few times since it's located near my house. I've only bought parcels (takeaways) since there's very limited seating space and no privacy at all. One or two cars be parked in front of the shop. Bike parking is not at all an issue. The shop is so small that even the signboard kept to indicate where the shop is located, is almost the size of the shop. Hardly ten people can stand inside at a time, but the positive point is that this place is almost always deserted. Service is always quick.
There are many varieties to choose from. Even though I've bought many natural flavours, I've not personally tasted them since I'm not a fan of those. But my family likes it. I always stick to the various varieties available based on chocolate & vanilla. My personal favourite is the Rich Chocolate Brownie flavour.
Price-wise I would say it's definitely costly. Some common flavours such as vanilla are priced around Rs.45/- per scoop which seems reasonable. Other natural flavours and flavours like chocolate are priced around Rs.100/- per scoop which is definitely too pricey. Some say that it's cheaper compared to larger ice-cream parlours. At other ice-cream parlours they demand price based on the weight. But here they demand Rs.100/- per small scoop which is much lesser than what we get at other ice-cream parlours. Hence, this is costlier for the quantity we get.

One of the best ice cream joints in Chennai. This is tucked away in a lane and does not go overboard on publicity. However, once you taste their natural fruit ice creams as well some of their specialities, you would come back for more.
The ice creams here fresh and delicious. It is extremely light on our palette. It's an healthy indulge. My little one enjoys most of the favours, although she chooses mostly the fruity flavours! The service is also great. The people are polite and give us time to choose the flavours we like. Going on a jolly drive on ECR, as a family we pick up a few tubs.
First of all let me tell you me n my wife are a regular visitors to this wonderful place which we found out around 6 months back unknowing of the fact that it was such near distance to us and I am glad. The ice creams made here are very much pure guys and the varieties they give will melt ur mouth. All the flavours are from natural fruits. I am from Kerala and Jack fruit is quite famous there and there you go they have that in form of ice cream and the taste is soothing. When we get tired in the evening after hectic schedules in office we go there and have these varieties of fruit ice creams. They have sugar free ice creams too. It's really a fine place. The cost is also not too high and who cares about the cost when the quality is good. I will really suggest all to go here and taste. It's a small shop but having richness of varieties.
Had a scoop of pan flavour Ice cream. Awesome taste, but very less quantity, doesn't have the value for the money. This is the major setback I would say for this Pabrais.
On our way to ECR saw pabrais in Thiruvanmiyur and decided to have a quick take away. Got a scoop of lychee, Jack fruit and sitaphal. While sitaphal was simply yummy, the lychees was just average. It would havr been gr8 if the lychee had some more pieces of the fruit. And the jack fruit tasted weird as if made of over ripened / spoiled jack fruit. Couldn't have more than a spoon. With a heavy heart threw it away. Paid 300 odd bucks for 3 scoops which I feel a bit pricey.
Forget everything and dive into the various flavors of ice creams....man its so yummy...fruity crunchy and natural... Too good...i have tasted naturelle as well but pabrai has that fruit pieces that are so prominent when u take a spoon full...its worth every penny you pay...
We had a get together at home and decided at 11 in the evening to grab some ice cream. Was planning to Ibaco but it was closed. So we ended up buying some home packs from here.
We bought the toasted almond and the chocolate macadamia. Both were lovely ND creamy. The toasted almond had crunch almond pieces in between.
The chocolate macadamia was good but didn't really taste like it had macadamia. Irrespective, it was delicious and a huge hit with my family.
It's slightly on the pricier side but the range of flavours makes it worth it. Definitely tasted fresh. Would recommend.
Huge variety of flavours with a difference. And they taste really good and natural. My favourite place for ice creams. Have ordered home delivery which reaches within half hour of my order. Love the rose ice cream which has gulkand mixed.

This place was recommend by Gopinath Rajendran . So I went in here today evening.
Ambience, The shop is very small. They have 10 cushioned stools. You can't even sit completely free inside. However when no one is at the outlet feel free to stretch your legs.
Ice cream, we had chocolate chip and coffee & cream. Both the ice creams were delicious. The chocolate chip for the first time had more of chocolate chips on it. While the coffee melted heart down. Basically coffee lovers would like this flavour.
As per Gopi bro advice need to try the exotic flavours here next time when I visit.
Service , fast and quick service.
Parking , car ? Obviously an issue.
Cost , worth the price. Highly recommend.
Drawbacks,
-Shop is small. The size is very small you can't even talk aloud to your friend.
-identification. Even though they have a board , due to the small size of the shop I missed twice.

Pabrais Fresh and Naturelle icecream are a Kolkata based Natural fruit Icecream. I did try out their outlet in Thiruvanmiyur.I loved their choice of unsual flavors like Orange and Basil, Nolen Gur and Rose Sandesh. Finally tried out them along with Mascarpone with candied fruits. good stuff. Subtle and not very sweet. Especially loved Orange and Basil. What a refreshing combination of flavors. Nolen Gur also deserves special mention. To infuse a bengali sweet into an icecream is just amazing.
Classic ice creams man. They have ice creams of things i haven't even heard of. I'd suggest the tender coconut and the jackfruit ice cream. Must go in the books of all foodies....

Their tender coconut icecream tasted soooo good..pabreis nalan gur which is made of palmsugar totally a mindblowing unique taste.. Chocolate vanilla tasted more like a cofffe flavoured tasted yum too. Yummy icey experience.will definitely go back to try all their other flavours. Place is very small with small small cute moda's. So not ideal for long hour hang out. Price is totally worth the taste.. I was told the icecreams are manufactured and brought here from Calcutta...so price and taste totally justifiable :)

Nice place for a good variety of ice creams .. If u r on a drive along ecr n wanna stop by for a quick grab Pabrai's is really good choice.. Some surprising flavors such as tender coconut n south Indian filter coffee are must try.. All the chocolate varieties taste great.. Serves well for the hot summers at Chennai!!

Thanks to my fellow foodies Vinushya and Gopinath Rajendran whose reviews led me to this place. After a festive feast at home, we felt like having ice cream. So decided to try Pabrai's. When I walked in, they were downloading consignments. Since dad was with me I was slightly hesitant if I should come back or go in. Anyway we walked in. Took some to decide as there were so many things I wanted to try. It was a tough choice but finally decided to go with South Indian coffee, chickoo and hot choc fudge sundae.Then we ordered Strawberry Balsamic in cone.
The south indian coffee tasted definitely like how a filter coffee should taste. I was blown away by Chickoo. Chickoo is one my favourite fruits. We have a huge tree at home and just in the evening I had two big fruits. Still I wanted more. I did not want to taste hot choc fudge, as I wanted to try the plethora of flavours in offer.
By this time the owners had walked in. I did not want to disturb them as they were busy with work. But still managed to strike a conversation. I told about our foodie family and she immediately remembered both Sujeeth and Gopi. From then on we went on a tasting spree. I cannot recall how many flavours I tasted today. Let me try. In no particular order I tried the following flavours:
Chilli and Lime, Wasabi, Apple Pie, Lemon Grass, Ginger Honey, Nalen Gur, Sichuan Pepper and more. I am not able to recall others. The only way I can describe the experience is that my taste buds were dancing to the taste of the various flavours. Each flavour tickled a different set of taste buds. . Even though both of them were busy with the consignments they kept recommending flavours. The flavours are strong so that it comes out well in the ice cream, so they were kind enough to warn us ahead of the fact. There was so much warmth and so friendly.
Though am not a big fan of chilli I wanted to give it a try. Aunty warned us that it will be hot for sure, so I just took a tiny bit. Boy, it was mind blowing. I am sure people who like chilli will love this flavour. I could see the smile spreading in my wife's face. I let her enjoy the rest. Oh by the way, this was made to order flavour, so I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek. In fact I liked all the flavours, especially Lemon Grass, and Sichuan pepper.I have never tasted this pepper. It also goes by the name Schezwan in India but is usually just the colouring added and not the actual pepper used in restaurants. I wanted to try Cinamon, it was not there so she suggested I taste Apple pie as it would be close enough to cinamon. Uncle was reminscing about toffee and that no one makes it these days. This is also in my list.
I wanted to try jackfruit and other spice varieties but unfortunately they were not there. They do not keep the spice varieties in this outlet and said it would be available in Bessy outlet. Maybe next time I go to Bessy, I will definitely not miss it. Undeniably a great ice cream tasting experience. Luckily it is 5min from home. So I am sure I am going back for more. Thanks uncle and aunty for all the warmth. Also special thanks for the guy who was there before aunty and uncle came. I just love it when the sales guys are knowledgeable about the product. He answered all our questions. Awesomatic!

After a disappointing dinner at The Farmhouse ECR on New Year's eve, me and my friends decided to hit the road in search of a good place for dessert. A quick search on the Zomato app showed that there is a Pabrai's in ECR. Thanks to fellow foodie Sujeeth Ponnuswamy I've already tried Pabrai's at Bessy and I was more than happy to recommend that to my friends. A push of the accelerator landed us at the spot with just a few minutes to spare for their closing time. Given below is my review for Pabrai's Fresh and Naturelle Ice Creams, ECR.
PROS:-
* Location wise, ECR has got a lot of good restaurants in the last few years making it an awesome place to search for good food. But on the desserts front, there isn't much that ECR has to offer. Pabrai's seems to have captured this to their benefit.
* We reached exactly when they were about to close down. Surprisingly, the people I saw over the counter was an elderly couple. At first they were reluctant to saw anything more than 'Sorry, we are closed' but after some cajoling from my end and some New Year wishes, they were more than happy to serve us. I only tried Chikkoo and straightaway ordered it. My friends took some time by trying a few flavours before zeroing on Nalen Gur (Jaggery) and Strawberry. All the three flavours were out of the world.
* After conversing with the couple for a while, I realised that they were the owners of this branch and the one in Bessy. I couldn't help but complement them about how good their ice creams are and how even their bessy branch is good. Service from them was top notch and they were more than happy to let my friends try a few flavours.
* As said in my Bessy review, the line-up of flavours this place has is mind blowing. Right from basic fruit flavours to Sugarfree, spice flavours and exotic flavours, one would surely be surprised to find the types available here.
* The price is considerably on the lighter end when compared to other major ice cream parlours in the city.
CONS:-
*The negative points are similar to the ones I observed in Besant Nagar. There isn't much parking space to begin with.
* Apart from the 4 cushion stools, there wasn't much space to sit and take a bite.
Overall, the New Years eve couldn't have been more tastier thanks to our trip to Pabrai's. The scintillating flavours available are a must try to the sweet tooths.

Their Nalen Gur (Pana vellam ) ice cream tastes like frozen Mysore pak... a must try. On the expensive side, but unique in taste.
Never knew that natural flavored ice creams will be so tasty.
The outlet has been there for quite some time but never dared to step inside because of horrible experience i had with Naturals ice cream. We just love ice creams and we definitely freak out twice a month in search of good ice creams. 8/10 times we head to ibaco itself.
But for a change we thought of trying this upon a friend's suggestion, man that did made a ever lasting impression in my mind.
Though a bit expensive than ibaco's, they serve the right amount of ice creams to be enjoyed to the last.
The must try flavors over there are Nalen gur & tender coconut. Though i have tasted only these two so far in my 4 visits to the shop.
Every time I go in to try a new flavor but can't resist myself from picking amongst these two only :(
Wish they had a monthly pass we in we can do daily and try out a new ice cream.
Pabrais serves such wonderfully fresh and flavorful ice cream, it fills your heart with delight! All is well with the world again when you are in the presence of the store owners, a warm and friendly couple whose greatest joy seems to be feeding you ice cream. This place has Nolen Gur Ice Cream. The review is over already for bongs and others familiar with Nolen Gur/ Date Palm Jaggery; they are probably already on their way to this place. For those of you who are still with me, here's why this place is awesome.
I came across this page through idle Zomatouring. The moment I read that they had the Nolen Gur flavour, I was hooked. What better way for a stranded bong foodie to spend a Saptami evening than helping himself to lots of Nolen Gur Ice Cream. So thought I and so thought my friends, and we all went out for a Nolenfest.
'But what is this Nolen Gur thingy he keeps going on about?' I hear you ask ' and why does he capitalize it?' Ah, but you have to taste it. Prepared from palm sap that traders collect by tying earthen pots to palm trees at night and bringing them down at the crack of dawn, this winter-only delicacy is a divine experience. An ice-cream-ized rendition of this taste then is impossible to resist.
But while I stress the Nolen Gur aspect of the matter, Pabrai's had a lot more in store than just this. Indeed, while my friends started off with Nolen Gurs, my first order was of scoops of Seetafal and South Indian Filter Coffee. The seetafal was great and the South Indian Filter Coffee had the taste down pat. Major awesomeness there. After that, it was Nolen Gur all the way for me. I'm not quite sure how many scoops I had, it's just too good. Turns out that Pabrai's are the original inventors of this flavour. My friends focused on the Nolen, though one tried to get adventurous with the Rose flavour. While I don't doubt this flavour will have its supporters, I am completely unable to imagine the thought process that would want the rose flavour on an ice cream.
Conversing with the affable gentleman behind the counter was also a pleasant change from the mechanical politeness of the staff one usually meets. He clearly told me that you wouldn't like the Filter Coffee flavour unless you have a genuine appreciation for filter coffee itself.
Other reviewers have complained about the high prices. Unfortunately I cannot tell you exactly how pricey this place was or wasn't, because we had been so charmed by the ice creams, that we had quite lost count of how much we had. However, whatever the price was, we didn't mind it. We were far too satisfied to give it a second thought, which tells you that this place is value for money. Two minor cons though: the place is too small and not air conditioned well. Other than that, it is awesome and I will keep coming back for more.

Interesting and tasty variety of flavours. Naturally made too. There are even sugar free options. Even the vanilla is natural vanilla and not synthetic. And it tastes much better in my opinion. Must try. Prices are more than other ice cream brands though. But worth it when you want to go for this. The shop is small though. Can only seat a small group.
After sampling many many varieties, I picked 4 flavors for my son's birthday - watermelon, fig, tender coconut and South Indian coffee. Very unique flavors, very fresh and amazing taste! Highly recommended.
Though this place is very close to home, I did not notice it for many years. It does not have the "look" of am ice cream parlour. Quite dingy, only plus point is that after 8, there is some parking. Only one table to sit. But I love their tender coconut ice cream...

Pabrai's makes good quality, small batch, natural or "naturelle" ice cream free of preservatives and artificial flavours. One of several outlets throughout the city, the ice cream is made in Calcutta, and shipped to Madras.
Highly recommended for its innate quality and the inventive range of Indian themed flavours which showcase Indian ingenuity. Home delivery available within a certain range, which is a nice touch too. Better than the mass manufactured slop like Ibaco or London Dairy. Having said that, Haagen-Dazs's is still probably the best ice cream in the city, but of course, they aren't "naturelle".

town. Really Good Service and good experience in this Place. In this Place Located in Chennai to Pondicherry ECR Main Road in Near Thiruvanmiyur Bus Stand. Staffs are really good responsible with from our shop customers. Food Quality is also really good in this place. Inside in this shop A/C Maintanined are also really good. All types of pabrai's icecreams are available here and it's really awesome tastes one time must try it.
Pabrais is a very good ice cream parlour. You should especially try the Nalen gur flavour. Amazing. All the fruit flavours are also nice. The fruit flavour icecreams are as good as the icecreams at Naturals. Since there is no Naturals in Chennai, i frequent this place. The place is somewhat expensive, however.
