Had food @ HSB after long time, nostalgic!!!
Sambar Idly, Sambar Vada, Cheese Corn Dosa were very good. Courteous staff. Chat items were missing.
I love saravana Bhavan as whichever branch you go you will definitely get the same taste..I totally enjoy south Indian food and have a quality time with family and friends
The service and food taste different when you choose the AC dinning . I really wonder why.
However, the thalai vaazhai virunthu is worth the money, even though few items where missing.
Certainly can try if you have time and want ti have your stomach full.
Good taste not too spicy preferred branch for ordering is vadapalani but others are also good.
Dosa here is better than other places, specially if you are north Indian you will love the taste.
Went here for a birthday party hosted at the party hall on the second floor. My experience is kind of mixed with this hotel. On one end, the food was brilliant but on the other hand the service was mediocre and the hall was small. It did not really seem like this place is suitable to hold around 100 people attending a party. The advantage that this place has is that it is located inside the city but in a place that is congested with traffic for the best part of the day. Go for it if a vegetarian restaurant is a primary criteria to you else there are other places worth considering.
Nice restaurant with good quality of food. This restaurant is maintaing good quality in cheaper amount. Packaging of food is awesome.But always it takes too much time for delivery.
So in between my presentation to Ascendas Chennai we did drop in the age old saravana bhavan...set lunch was awesome although I would say quality could have been better...the watermelon juice was fulfilling
Food taste is good. It was served hot. Packimg is alao good. But quantity is litte less especially chutney and sambar. Otherthan that its good.
I had my best breakfast experience at Sarvana Bhawan. I ordered their Idli and Vada with Sambhar and those were so different to the ones we have in Delhi and so fresh. Always add their Filter Coffee to your order which is so great.
Food is excellent. Service is Ok. Pretty good place with ample seating. Parking is good. Delivery usually done under 30-45 mins. Overall Good.

Dosa:- There are so many varieties of dosai and I opted for plain dosa🍥. They are then drizzled with oil and made into a crisp dosa which is served with 3 types of chutney such as coconut chutney, mint chutney, onion chutney and sambar🍱
14 mini idli:- They are 14 small idlis dunked in steaming hot delicious tiffin sambar🥘. The soft idlis absorb the sambar and ghee is sprinkled at the top. The tastes were so amazing. Chutney can be obtain on request 🥙
Poori:- 3 pieces of soft and fluffy poori 🥠served with lip-smacking urulai kizhangu and kuruma taste was deliciously amazing
I felt the captain is little bit slow and server was very attentive he personally takes care of his guest with affection

Very famous restaurant chains in India. Ate same butter masala dosa. Liked it a lot with different style of chutneys.... As people know about this I don't see a point why I have to recommend it at all. Can't wait to come again here. Service can be improved but for all restaurants.

Taste is not great as earlier. Try to avoid use & throw plastics and think of alternates. For the Special quick meal, you've given an option to choose either poriyal or appalam, instead, give the option to add both at an extra cost too...
Visited this place on some recommendation by a friend. Tired the idli sambhar. It was the mini idli sambhar. Honestly didn’t find it all that great. Service was good though. Tired the Medu vada and ghee Pongal combo. Was alright. Medu wada was not fresh though. Filter coffee was good but not worth the price. Can give this place a try.
Whenever I am in chennai this is the only place I have lunch . The south Indian food is simply outstanding. The taste and quality is still maintained and the variety of food is never ending .
Their onion Uttapa, ghee idli and the South Indian thali is mouth watering.
A must must try for any1 travelling to chennai. They have many outlets in chennai.

A big appreciation to the team HSB and what a time to set up at the outlet at Ekkatuthangal!
When the whole of Chennai was hit by cyclone Vardah, HSB was one unique place in Ekkatuthangal that came to the rescue of people. Especially people who rely on hostel/PG food. People flocked in large numbers here on the cyclone evening. Hotel authorities were polite enough to let the customers charge their phones/power banks. Loved the gesture of team HSB!
A much needed restaurant in Ekkatuthangal which lacks a tidy veg restaurant. With the HSB coming in to the picture, its a huge relief to the people who are thriving for pure veg food. The restaurant has plenty of parking space and the securities can help you with the same as well.
It would be inappropriate to rate their service on this day as the whole of Chennai was in disarray. It took them time to deliver food because the AC restaurant which can hold quite a number of people had more people than expected. Indeed they all were polite while they served us!
Food at HSB, I love them despite of being a little costly. We three of us, quite hungry ordered some items.
Two plain dosas, a onion dosa, a rava dosa, gobi manchurian and chilly mushroom. The tomato chutney went ahead in taste as compared to the pudina chutney. The sambar was a typical HSB one!
Gobi manchurian didn't have the regular red color in it. Loved the way it was cooked. On the other hand chilly mushroom had a little salt extra. To end things, the HSB coffee! Though the bill ended up high, we were really pleased with the food!
Any day, any time HSB always scores a decent rating out of 5!
In the recent search for veg foods, never disappointing and worth for its quality and the name is HSB.... not only now from many years and maintaining the taste and quality is something best with HSB.
You would love the restaurant for its speedy service and all foods for its quality.

Authentic south Indian food joint. Lovely food. The quantity of food served is considerable. I was not able to finish all the rice they served. Service is good. Usually it will be crowded during lunch and dinner time.
Best standardised veg food across all its restaurant's in Chennai and abroad. All ways my first choice for veg food.
Service is pretty good and must try recipe is mini tiffin you will get button idli and sambar, and small dosa with very tasty two types of chatnis and a sweet and pongal and a sweet, of you are looking veg restaurant in this area my suggestion is to eat here only.

Hotel saravana bhavan amazing food. Actually this is the food chain all over in South India and many variety in food like pineapple chutney, banana desert, coconut desert, banana wafer, vada, banana sabji and at last ice cream test like coffee. And main thing is that thali provides in banana leaves and this is amazing experience. I must suggest that when ever anyone visit chennai or South India please visit this restaurant.
Spacious restaurant while travelling to Chennai airport. A quick delivery of idly and pongal. Loved the pongal. They are one of bookmarked hotels in chennai.

Really good meals. Everything is open now. Lots of parking space. Has a non-AC and AC dining hall.
Undoubtedly good vegetarian food option. Having lots of combo varieties makes it more attractive. One of our favourite evening food option after a tiring day at job. Could have been better if more combo options made available via self service mode, it would save some time for people like us to eat something at good place still saving the ordering/waiting time.
