Good food for good people :)
Recent time addiction during lockdown. Good option for Veg Starters and Naan combos. Fair Price, Good Taste, Quantity and Quality
A cheap and filling and tasty place.. Had been here to more than 5 times and most of the items we ordered were tasty.. Had 3 combo varities.. Fried rice, gobi manchurian, many chat items and so on.. The jilebi, which is the only item which was not tasty.. A quick and nominal one.. Highly recommended..
Hot chappathies are Just superb!!!! I visited there with my friends.... We ordered veg spring roll.... My goodness the taste of the spring roll was really amazing!!!! Still I know the taste of the spring roll that I tasted.... It has also got chat items, fried rice and noodles and also Indian breads.... Would recommend everyone to visit this place.....
over all very good! I strongly suggest this restaurant !!
chapati, gobi Manchuria and fried rice is tasty but the soup needs improvement.
good taste of food.... sufficient quantity....taste of soup can be improved...
could have packed in banana leaf instead of polyethylene paper.
Went in for a dinner with my friends
The service was kinda okayish
The food was too good
It was totally worth the cost
They could have more seating availability and parking space and try to expand their restaurant
Worth for money-4/5
Food-4.5/5
Service-3.5/5
Tasty home made food items like chapati n paratha with sabji n daal with achar .fresh n hot food.cost also reasonable.feel like at dhaba in North India... awesome
Best food anytime. North Indian, Chinese, Snacks, Chat items are on the menu and their Panner Butter Masala is awesome and a best seller! And they are very generous with the portions they serve. Combo options are great at reasonable price. If you haven't tasted the food here, your missing something!

A quick fix dinner place which quite economical as well as serves ur taste buds. Known for its chapathis. Though ambience is not great, it's a place to head out when u crave for comfort chapathis.
When you are running so low on budget but you still crave for some tasty food, I know that feeling xD. But you can still binge eat food and this is the place for it.They have a huge variety at crazy prices. The taste is also decent.
A neat and compact space with decent food. The flavor of North Indian food is just perfect.

Ambience - 3/5

Good restaurant to satisfy your crave for north indian dishes. Price z also nominal. All the dishes taste well n their chapathi z of big size hence u can't have more than 2/ 3 however hungry ur. The restaurant has no parking space n the local residents around do not let cars to b parked outside their house. Hence finding a parking lot can b lil difficult during weekends. Overall, a place to have a quick dinner.
Friday nights mean one thing - dinner from outside. So fired up Swiggy and Hot chappathies caught my eye. Ordered 1×Lacha paratha, 1×Garlic naan, Kaju paneer masala, Jeera fried rice and one Naan +Gobi Manchurian combo. Total bill came to ₹340 and ₹413 after GST.
Food was delivered hot. The Naan, Lacha paratha and Garlic Naan were good thought not great like what you get at Bharat Bhojnalya. The Gobi Manchurian gravy can be given a miss it was bland. The Kaju Planner gravy was awesome and the quantity is good enough for 2-3 people. The Jeera fried rice was different and nice and went well with the Kaju pander masala.
Overall a decent pocket friendly place to have north Indian food in Nanganallur. Giving it +0.5 more for the pocket friendly prices and huge quantities.
Ordered mixed veg fried rice and gobi 65 via swiggy. The delivery was super quick and food was piping hot. The quantity was sufficient for 2 normal eaters and gobi was little bit soggy. :( Fried rice was ok, no issues but could concentrate on the packing.

It is a great place. Small neat and nice. It's worth the price and the quality is good too. The combo at night is damn good and is highly recommended. Both quality and quantity is good comparatively.
Good tasty food at Nanganallur area. Value for money. Children's too enjoy the dishes which is not too much spicy. Elders too prefer to have dinner.
Value for money = hot chappathis
You will pay 150 rs and feel you ate for 200
This place serves good North Indian food, the stuffed parattas are very good here .
The place had a good decor with kindergarten wallpapers on one side and the menu written all over the place on yellow boards on the other . The self service gives the place a casual feel. I'd recommend trying panner/mushroom parattas . Don't forget to try the jalebi and jamuns .Only downside sometimes you have to wait a long time before your token no is called here .
Decent selection of North Indian dishes and Chinese as well. Tasty and consistent food with very reasonable prices. Great for a lazy take away evening dinner.
A food joint struggling to place itself between a regular restaurant and a standard take-away place.
Most of the customers prefer takeaways, while few prefer to squeeze themselves in the small chairs!
Food quality is ok. Few items are steeply priced.
Parking is on the main road only, but should not be an issue.
Staff (??🙄) are courteous.
One of my fav hangouts near our home. The food tastes exceptionally good and the prices are very very reasonable. Had butter rotis and kaju masala today. The kaju masala is a must try. Its sooo yummy and the roti stayed soft until we finished our dinner. End of the month and you still wanna have tasty food without burning a hole in your pockets - this is the place to be guys.. haven for vegetarians...
A very decent shop in nanganallur which is serving vegetarian food. Its a best place for take away food. This is one of my favourite shop as me and my husband often buy food at this place when we are bored of home food. The price is also reasonable. It is a vegetarian shop I have tried so many dishes here like panner fried rice, biriyani, panner and corn masala, kadai veg, veg paratha, chappathi, crispy baby corn, baby corn manchurian, paneer tikka etc.. Among this my favourite dish is paneer biriyani and paneer tikka. The paneer biriyani is so tasty and yummy. The paneer tikka is so tasty that they give big big pieces of paneer. They also serve chat items. Paani poori is my favourite. In desert I love gulab jamun. It is so yummy and mouth watering. If someone needs to grab something light. Then i recommend this place. Somehow the shop is located in a street which is not clearly visible. Overall my all time favorite shop.
A great place for north I dian food and is always crowded. More so in the weekends. Yes, if honey is there bees will come. Must visit place and great value for money
The hot chapathies has been selling pretty good chapathies , rotis ,samosa and jalebis for nearly 8 years now. Though they have moved few places from they were before ,the quality of the food is pretty good. The rotis are usually accompanied by two side dishes both of them are pretty good.
This place serves you good food but never ever ever visit this place on weekends. Its too crowded. You gotta wait like 30 mins to get ur parcel. I had such experience today. Bought naan and paneer butter masala as takeaway. It s quite reasonable 180rs. Quantity was too good jus like its taste. 👍
PS:To those of you who missed mother's kitchen located in nanganallur, do visit this place.✌
An eternal favorite for the locals of Nnlr. Awesome place to hang out with your buddies for a dinner. Watch out for the day's special or a combo.
A small outlet located just opposite to Indianm Bank,Nanganallur branch. Strictly Vegan.
This place is mainly known for its delicious Jalebi. You must not miss it, Try it out.
This little eatery might not look appealing from the outside. Looks are always deceptive. Food is amazing. I ordered Tomato soup, Hot and Sour soup, Panner 65, Chilly Parotta.
I didnt like the Tomato soup though, was a bit on the sweet side. All Tomato soups from any eatery tastes like same. Hot and sour soup was definitely worth it. Panner 65 was un-evenly coated with batter. Taste was good though, but some pieces had more batter stuck to it. Chilly Parotta was by far the best I have ever eaten. You must make sure to eat it whilst it is hot, else it becomes to rubbery.
Worth for a family dinner. No AC though
Have crossed this joint a number of times, so thought of giving a try today and it was worth it . Tummy full of food for 2 people and the bill was just Rs.375.
An amazinggg restaurant !! simple and elegant.. seriously i have tasted their food over years and it just gets better and better..
Paneer tikka was at its best even at 10.30 pm .. i was the last guy ordering and eating and still they gave the stuffs real hot ( i didnt expect ! its just superb)
Parathas are quite good .. but the QUANTITY of side dish they give when it comes to Combos can be IMPROVED .. CLEARLY INADEQUATE..
KEY IMPROVEMENT AREAS : TABLES and Chairs.. WATER GLASSES AND SAUCES
Although due credit has to be given to them for RENEWING THE INTERIOR off late.. hope they come up with good seating arrangements to make it a really wonderful experience..
I tried this outlet after seeing the positive reviews. I ordered take out of chappati without oil, nan, panner butter masala, veg kofta, panner and gobi tikka. Chappati, veg kofta was really good. Nan, panner butter masala was OK. Panner and gobi tikka is not up to the mark. Not much flavour there. Simply plain. But, this is really VFM.
One of the best tandoori restaurant in the Nanganallur locality !! And since it's 1000% vegetarian, it has it's own reputation in the entire locality.. The prices are very cheap and the taste is damn good!! But folks that's a self service place and yes you can place the order through phone and you will have to go and In person and buy it . No door delivery ! The location is also pretty centre place and even that is used as an landmark for the locals! The major customer are the locals... They restaurant folks keep renovating the place very frequently ... The most busy hour are between 6pm to 10pm
Enjoy eating :)
Pros: Taste is good. Ambience is good. Road side parking only that is sufficient as road is quiet big for parking, very near to Independence day park. Cost is also quiet reasonable.
Cons: Self service only. Table arrangements are cramped ..
Note: Only north Indian foods are good & south Indian food's need improvement
Taste : 3.5/5 ; Ambiance : 3/5 ; Service : 2.5/5 ; VFM : 4/5
Hot Chappaties located in Nanganallur came as a surprise package for me...Had been listening a lot about this place...from many of my friends and family members...but it was way above my expectations...
Location : On the fifth main road...its the perpendicular to the 4th main road...and also it come near the children's park of nanganallur...
Parking : Roadside parking....sufficient for the place...no problems in parking...
Ambiance : A resto to seat around 40 people...but also has empty space to seat another 10 people..but it has been used for free movement of people...maintenance is average...nothing great...non A/C restaurant...gsts stuffy as ventilation is not great...
Service : Mostly self Service..Except for old people they themselves serve..its a good gesture....The guys are north indians..language barrier is a problem..saw few customers complaining and fighting because of these servers..
Taste : Above average tastes...the fried rices and gravies are good...the sweets like jelebi and gulab jamun are a good try...the chats, samosas and kachoris are great..
Value for Money : With 150rs max u are all sorted...the food is complete VFM...all the items i tried were great...only drawback is the service...which can be improved if they show some interest...
This is our go-to place for chats. Their pav bhaji does not taste real. It feels like they have added sambhar powder instead of pav bhaji masala..
A very honest and down to earth hangout which delivers just what it promises - Hot Chappathies .
The taste while agreeably not perfectly authentic , is a definite taste bud refresher for the otherwise North indian cuisine food starved locality of Nanganallur .
The menu also has a few vegetarian oriental and Chinese options which aren't particularly complain-able either .
Designed for college students living away from home on a budget .
Worth a try if you live in the locality , but not otherwise .

Feel like eating North Indian this weekend?? This is the place for you!!
The food is great .The quantity is less but reasonable for the price. Few dishes are not great but few are. Overall it's a good place for a weekend food.

Another haunt for the late eaters, the place is slightly tough to locate, but serves pretty decent food at very nominal rates. The tomato soup was okay, the 6 chapathi combo was a great deal with the palak paneer tasting good. The North Indian combo with chapathi, rice and gobi manchurian was also a great price and decent taste. The texture and taste of the fried rice was better than usual.
Take a couple of friends for a good meal, great time at a damn small price!
One stop and dine - in which does not make a dent in your wallet. My most favorite dish is Naan-Panneer Butter masala combo and masala naan. Though self service is their style, we just want to wait a while by crunching the chats, then crushing the big packs. Their 65's are irresistible.
Guaranteed for taste, a Best choice to hangout with friends.
Hot Chappathis is one of the good places where we can get north indian chaat at a reasonable price. Here we can find Samosas, Kachori,Bread bajji, cutlets and other chaat items as well. You might ask how is this different from other chaat places. The difference is taste. The Samosas are very good and the spring rolls will make our tongues want more. This place is worth trying just for the chaat alone. The bread bajji and cutlet are especially good.
The ambience isn't great, but it is a place where we can hangout with friends and have some nice evening snack.
want a place to hang out with friends without worrying about budget.?
well this is the one i ll recommend.not to mention the food is totally worth it.their chats are really good especially pav bhaji.
in soups my personal fav would be hot and sour.
hot chapatis started as road side snack shop to a small outlet as in very small,to a very nice diner sorts.
the service is good and friendly, also the food is served fast.
A small place with lots of items in the menu. Decent place to dine in. Tastes are really good. There is no delay in order. Worth the money.
Lip smacking yummy food..price is also cheap...if they improve the ambience it would be a better place to gather...
----- 28 Feb, 2014 -----
excellent taste...ambience not much....very cheap...
This place deserves 3.5 stars just for its price and for the quality of the food they provide.Started way back in early 2000,this once ordinary roadside snack shop considerably improved and even testing chinese and south indian cusines now.
Location:-
Very near to the nanganallur park, one would easily miss this shop coz of it's very narrow enterance ,but the parked vehicles tag this apart
Food
I personally recommend all their chat items . Their samosas and paneer rolls were the best among the lot.The channa masala they provide would be so unique and will be in it's spicy best than the ordinary sweet stale ones available .
Their value meal which includes chapathies or pulkha, gobimanchurian or paneer tikka for 50 rs is a added attraction
The chats will be ranged from 7 to 35 which covers almost all their items including their freshly made jalebis .And the main course which ranges from chapathies to American chopsuey is ranged between 10 to 100.
Ambience
I am not a big fan of their ambience as it doesn't speak much as their food.I usually prefer takeaways than dining there. And they make very neat and good packages in notime .
For a very fairly priced shop which provides very good food for almost a decade,Hot chapathies will be and always be very near to my heart and will definitely recommend to others for their great chats.
Extremely cheap and ultimate in taste! All items in menu available. Quiet and family friendly
Insanely inexpensive while compared to a lot of restaurants in Chennai. Great food and taste. Can't expect much in the ambience factor, but it really doesn't matter when they serve good food for such a low cost. They serve a combo of 9 chappathies + dal fry/ palak paneer for Rs. 119. This is really hard for two people to finish. Their jalebis and paneer 65 are too good. Great value for money!

Reasonably spacious place. Had been there for a business lunch. Was not very crowded - and surprisingly for a small set up, he said all items on the menu (a pretty exhaustive one) were available. Seems to be run by a North Indian who speaks very fluent Tamizh.
We tried the normal Chapathi with Veg Kofta. The taste was okay, though my colleague said it was not as good as other North Indian joints in Chennai - such as Mansukh's. I felt it was fine for the price he charges.
My colleague had the jalebi which was okay apparently.
They don't serve phulkas which is a disappointment.
We had kulfis too (not made in-house) which were nice.
A few things which can be improved:
a) choice of drinking water - bottled water in addition to the normal water served
b) can provide other beverages - cool drinks etc.
c) ambience is okay - but can be spruced up a bit
All in all, good value for money.
Food is good, the dine in experience was below par as the handwash area was not well maintained
Very good neatly maintained place for quality North Indian food.
Ambience is very good and welcoming. The North West Indian theme based paintings on the walls are nice and appealing.
Hospitality is good and humble.
Food varieties are plenty with lot of North Indian dishes. Taste is ok but can be great if they work a bit on taste. They have inhouse chat and fresh juice bar as well which is a good addition to the menu.
The best part was the price. To my surprise for the good ambience and quality of food the price is very reasonable and cheap.
Definitely recommending this place.
Brilliant ambience and atmosphere. The staffs are friendly and courteous. Best place at this locality for North indian food varieties. Few items are pricey. Others are ok kind of, and worth the taste. Service is quite good. Restrooms are not available.
I haven't dined in here. Only had take outs. They've a nice waiting area which is one of the main reasons that drew me here multiple times. All the dishes I have tried were excellent especially the lasooni palak paneer.
All the chat items are excellent here especially Pav bhaji and Channa samosa.. Nice and calm ambiance.. Many varieties of North Indian items are available here for breakfast, lunch and dinner.. Malai Mushroom Tikka, Aloo Paratha and Mushroom Fried Rice is awesome.. They can include dessert or drinks like sweet lassi, mango lassi in their menu..

Order thru swiggy will cost 20 to 30 percent more. Save that and take parcel by yourself or dine in here. This is an upbeat cozy place. High raised chairs in juice bar. Phulka here a.k.a. Chappatis same. Different Chapathis and Parathaas are there. Note parotta locally in Tamil Nadu is different from Parathaas. Separate stall for milkshakes juices without water etc. They started in 2004 humble beginnings and now they have grown well. You can call and take away or order home using swiggy. Not much price difference between swiggy and direct parcel. Smart. Taste is really good. Garlic nan at Rs 109/- really big and nice. Combos and chats are cool. All groups from students to families with kids visit here. I ve been a regular customer for 18 years. Price is neat for all income groups. Vehicle parking at your own risk as it is on main road, but its OK. This place is in between to Diha clinic and independence day park.
Very nice place. Very calm..
The food is surprisingly good. The service too is not too long. We had chappatis which are soft and the chana is cooked really well. I can tell that it is one of the best chana masala I have ever had.
Good and tasty north indian food. Soups are really yummy and all the veggies are fully cooked. Very calm and pleasant dining area with its ambience being neat and traditional north indian styled interiors.
1. The best place to try out north indian food. The food items are available at an affordable price for good quality and quantity.
2. It's located in 2 places:
Adambakkam
Nanganallur
Food is really good and tasty. Only thing is sweetness is seen more in all gravies and Pulav. Spicy food lovers can avoid this place.
