Overall rating 3.5/5
Sudden plans? Hang in here with reasonable price charged! :D
Everything was wonderful made & delecious ...worth giving a try & must try ..Sameer bhai's hospitality was awesome.. Thanks sameer Bhai & team..keep doing the good job.!!
Impressed with the service. Sameer did an excellent job!
The ambience and hospitality was great. The food was much delicious but there was a tinge lack of spice and saltiness in them in my opinion. Mr. Sameer, the person who served us, was prompt in taking orders and servicing and had a polite nature.
Great service. Sameer ali.
Service is extra ordinary......Mr.Samir has taken us very comfortable in service..
Mr.Sameer's service was good
Friendly service by sameer... beautiful ambience and delicious food..must visit restaurant for foodies
I have been ordering regularly with them whenever my husband would crave for good North Indian food with the quickest delivery . They use less oil in comparison to other restaurants and are courteous to look into the negatives and make it right instantly. I ll appreciate if they stopped using food colors and served the food in organical way as it is. Otherwise great. Their rotis are yummy and I always pair it with sabzi and starter .
The fried rice is amazing as well as the biryani yummy yummy !
We often order dal and rice and savor it with some starter .
What’s not to love about a place that serves creamy dishes, quality breads and good service? Was a good deal overall for the food they served, cheers!
Nice ambience, staff was very warm and welcoming. Food taste and quality was top notch.
Special mention of shezwan paneer Tikka it's a must have.
The service was good and the food was hot. But the soup had lettuce even after specifically asking only for lemon and coriander. The mushroom was not properly cooked as well. Overall, it was okay.
Masaledaar Desi rasoi, located in T.Nagar is a heaven of vegetarian food. Visited this place for lunch, and I can definitely see myself dining here forth.
I hesitated to visit this place because of the "veg-only" tag, but my friend just pulled me in and I cannot thank her enough for making me to try my hands here.
Here goes the order list:
•Soup- We started with Tomato and Veg manchow. Both were good.
•Chandani paneer(Personal favourite)- This dish was the best part of the meal.Paneer was so soft with the perfect masala blend. I can have this all day🙈
•Baby corn- Was good(Not a big fan of baby corn,so can't rate it 😛)
•Jeera Pulao-Perfect!
•Cheese garlic Roti-loved it
•Naan,kulcha
•Dal makhani-Was too rich and creamy. Must try!
Dessert:
•Gulab jamun - Please make this mandatory in ur list🙈it was too good.
•Paan icecream- This was the first place which served paan ice cream to the perfect level of taste. Loved it.
•Chaas- Not exactly a dessert type. It's kind of a rich buttermilk drink with an acquired taste. It was heavy but tasted really good.
The ambience was good with friendly staffs. I would definitely recommend this place.

A hidden gem surrounded by some heavy weights, this restaurant has surprised us with some delectable and tasty food. People looking for authentic Punjabi cuisine and that too at a reasonable price, this is the place to go! The service is impeccable and the food is an icing on the cake. Right from starters to main course to dessert was enjoyable! Please do visit this place to enjoy a good meal!
Walked in late on a Saturday afternoon. Place is small and in a basement next to Murugan Idly shop. Not much crowd and we ordered Thalis. The Jeera rice was quite dry while the Dal Makhni was very creamy and tasty. The other items in the Thali were quite tasty. Their Mango Lassi was quite good. Will go back again during peak hours to get a better experience.
I really fell in love with their warm hospitality and ambience. Taste was amazing and i am really looking forward for their thali which was not available on Sunda
Small place with limited seating.. good ambience and great service.. food is great.. green chutney served with starters was delicious... had a great time
We have been here today. One of a good restaurant for veggie lovers. Good food at a very reasonable rate. Especially their signature dishes in paneer, cheese corn balls fried corn are awesome.
I have given 4 rating just because the rice we ordered were all half cooked. Except for this service, ambience and taste are all very good.

My cousins and I were looking for a veggie restaurant on a Saturday evening for a pleasant dinner. We were about 9 of us and ordered 5 starters n 4 curries wit rotis. The food was excellent. Honestly, after having mushroom n Panner gravies from a non veg restaurants I had literally forgotten how wld an authentic veg gravy be. Thanks to this restaurant. All items were perfectly spiced n hot. The mushroom masaledaar and Panner lababdar was outstanding. The fried rice was juz average and the mango n plain lassi was average too. The lassi looked as if served for a sugar patient, with juz half sugar. Otherwise it was too good n must try.
Very nice place to be around, extremely friendly owners and staff, the breads are one of its own kind and it’s so authentic North Indian food. I went for dinner a day prior and next day sagi went for dinner the staff treated me like it was homecoming. Thanks for all the love cheers.
When you have a boring Saturday and cousins decides to meet up, what's better than to venture out to test our taste buds. This is when we decided to try out Masaledaar outlet in T.Nagar.
When you are trying to have a gala time with your people, last thing you want is to have a bad food. Fortunately this place serves delicious food with good service. The place is very small however the ambience is comparatively good. Had to climb 2 floors to use rest room, If you are going with kids then keep this in mind.
Service and Food is excellent. If you need a good vegetarian food then this is a must go. Thank you Deepika for suggesting this place
Masaledaar desi rasoi is one of the few pure vegetarian restaurants in Chennai and is located in between the virudhunagar restaurant and Murugan idly shop in GN Chetty Road – T nagar. The place has limited seating, so I highly recommend table reservation to avoid long waits. The food menu is similar to the one you find in the Sangeethas and Saravana Bhavans with some speciality dishes on offer.
Good option for veg and Jain food. The taste and quantity was excellent. Staffs were polite and friendly.
The place is neat and compact. No flaws. Highly recommend.
The food was too good and amazing ..the people out there were also very polite and nice ..Relatively small and cosy place..Ambience was also not bad..Really enjoyed the food out there .
I ordered dragon panner...... It was really fantastic.. And also schewvan noodles was great.. I ordered everything in Jain
Nd panner was awesome....
This is a relatively small restaurant situated in G. N. chetty Road. The ambince is quite nice... A typical cosy basement restaurant... The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite... This was a take away... I had ordered a honey chilly gobi.. Which was good.... It could have been a tad more sweeter to give it a khatta meetha effect...
The chandini paneer tikka was excellent.. It was covered on the top with cheese and stuffed with minced cottage cheese and cheese and chilli which was a flavour boost ... The paneer was amazingly soft... And tender..
The Indian breads aka stuffed kulcha and onion and capisum paratha were good.. It was just like any other restaurant.. The gravy... paneer dhaba style is a mix of the white cashew gravy base and the mirchi gravy base.. It was mild not too spicy.. Full of flavour overall great...
i m never expect this type of north indian food in chennai.. great taste.. delhi ki yaad aa gayi yar.. must try north indian thali..maja aa gaya.. bade dino baad chennai mai dang ka khana khaya..
Must try north Indian restaurant. Food tastes good, ambiance is good. Value for money. Must try north Indian restaurant. Food tastes good, ambiance is good. Value for money.
the food is very good there and the quantity and quality is very good
Nice food and wonderful ambience.... Place for good food n family time... Restaurant gives u taste of best North Indian food.. Paneer dishes are the best
Really superb😍they refunded my amount as there is no dal in my take away honest restaurant guys u can enjoy every dish here I tired so many times but the taste feels always better as first time veg biryani panner butter masala ghee phulka all r awesome 🤗
panner aachari tikka perfect one
biryani surprised me.. it was really good
Indeed a tiny marvel between the biggie food outlets - adjacent to this.
Food is nice & service is apt.
Tried Palak soup, phulka, roti, Paratha, methi malai mutter & Mango lassi.
Overall, it is done well. But yes - would have preferred fresh methi instead of kasuri methi in the main dish. Would have preferred a sweet mango pulp than sour taste in lassi.
PS - I liked their wash basin (u need to see it to get ur reaction ;)) & the hot water flow - to flush away the oily hands. I now got the logic of the basin material now !.
PS2 - Half of the visitors are those who could not get a place (or long wait) in the nearby idli shop and not really an ardent North Indian cuisine lovers. So may be a set menu for them will be easy & quick business. (Heard 2 different group conversations about difference in paneer dishes & roti varieties. Finally they ordered 10 chapathi (!) & 3 dhal (?!?).
Superb place for North Indians! You miss delhi food, then THIS IS IT! Amazing tawa phulka and superb paneer Tikka! 😋😋. Extremely courteous and friendly staff, will take great care of your taste!
Excellent vegetarian food. A must go place. Everything is so super special that you would want to go again and again. Don't forget to try the kichiyas and paneer starters
New vegetarian restaurant alert in T.Nagar.This restaurant is located in between virudhunagar and murugan idly shop in G.N.chetty road.
This restaurant serves delicious food at a nominal price. Ambience is perfect if you are planning to dine in with your friends or family.
Our orders:
Hara bara kebab: 5pieces of hara bara kebab with cashew on top of it and served with green chutney.
I have had Hara bara kebabs before, but this place serves the best.It was gheelicious and tasted as if they were fried in ghee.A must try if you visit this restaurant.
Punjabi pulov- We wanted to have something other than Briyani and we enquired with the waiter and order punbaji pulov. It was little spicy but tasted good. They gave the raita on request and we were not charged for it.4/5
Lacha paratha and paneer lababdar- paratha tasted good with paneer lababdar.4/5.
Costed around 750 including tax.Staffs were friendly and the service was great.
Food - 4.5/5

Very good place , good ambience with music next to Murugan idli kadai the customer service is commendable. Ordered thali 180 Rs more than enough for one person . 3 sabji butter naan raita sweet lassi jeera rice everything items had unique taste . Hope they will remain the same taste after getting good reviews. Cheers hope to visit again . Forget to mention tomato soup that was awesome full of cream , Maza agyaa . North taste food . One will not regret coming back from MDR. Bharti .
This place has been in my list for some time now. Visited it today and felt the wait was worth. One of the best north indian restaurants I have visited in Chennai. We had Veg sheek kebab, Tawa phulka ,Kashmiri pulav and Veg Banjara. Kebab was ultimate. Phulka were Good. Pulav was sweet and Banjara was new to our taste buds. To top it, There was Paan ice cream which was just out of the world.Good service and ambience.
Have been to this place a couple of times and been wanting to go more. Amazing food. Super staffs. Although bit high of a budget place. Healthy food too. Must visit. A family place.
Guldasta paneer was amazing. So was the paan ice cream- Was an exciting mix of flavours. Would recommend this place for authentic tasty North Indian food.

Ordered food from this shop yesterday loved their service.
Packing - 5
VFM - 5
Service - 5
Food - 4. 5
Ordered Paneer peshawari - this tasted very good
garlic naan, matar kulcha and missi roti- all of them very simply superb soft and tasty
Vegetable biriyani- tasted excellent..
baby corn manchurian - this was not upto my expectation it was not spicy and crispy otherwise it was fine
Wanted to rate them 4.5 but unable to do so.
Also while we were waiting to collect our order they gave us a small shot of chaas which was an excellent gesture considering the weather in Chennai in the noon.
Cant wait to visit again.. Must try shop for vegetarians
If you are a vegetarian, this place should definitely be on your regulars.
We ordered guldasta paneer, tandoori roti and Punjabi pulav. The flavor of paneer was too good! The spice level was apt and the taste was so homely. Punjabi pulav was good but a little bland. It tastes best with paneer gravy. The service was quick too.
One downside is the quantity. It is quite less for the price they charge.
This is a must tryout place for all the foodies who would enjoy all the pure vegetarian delicacies. Situated at one of the most busiest areas of the city, this place is pretty easy to locate. I would recommend people to try out schezwan fried rice and the veg ball Manchurian gravy which clearly stood out as the best dish the restaurant could offer. Other good delicacies which stood out were the koftas, and the special kaju curry masala which just melts in your mouth.
I would still recommend the restaurant to introduce more potato based starters and main dishes as I felt what was being provided wasn't enough. The biryani was too dry making it a bit difficult. However it was comprehended by the raita which accompanied the dish.
Overall it was a nice experience and we ate to our hearts content. We would definitely come back for for many more times to try out other dishes that are being offered.
Looking for a great place to have vegetarian food? Then this is definitely the place to go! Was called over to taste their menu. This was the first time I've ever been to any of their branches. This new one is located at GN Chetty Road , Tnagar. We started off with soups:
1.Tomato soup-Nice and creamy.
2.Veg Manchow soup-Spicy and good.
For the starters , we had:
1.Chandani paneer-The best paneer dish I've had in a while! Must-try!
2.Chilli baby corn-Yummy!
For the mains we had some Rotis, Naan, kulcha accompanied by Jeera pulao.
The sides:
1.Veg banjara
2.Guldasta Paneer
3.Dal Tadka
All 3 of them were very good! The special mention for the Guldasta Paneer , loooooved it!
For the desserts , we had :
1.Paan icecream-This was my first time trying Paan icecream and it definitely won't be my last! Loved it completely. It wasn't too strong , just right.
2.Gulab jamun- This just melts straight into your mouth!
We also had Chaas , which was amazing!!!
Nice ambience and very good service! The price was a little high though but food was equally good. Would definitely visit again!
Good food, ambience and courteous service. What more can one ask for. Special praise for the paneer dishes as the paneer was soft and fresh, unlike in many other places where it is rubbery. The capsicum onion parantha was excellent. The dessert option I found was very limited. And also avoidable was the papads. The masala papad I got was very soggy. Have tasted much more delicious masala papads elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit place.
It's an amazing place if you are craving for North Indian food! Definitely go check out this place ❤️
My recommendation to all the North Indian lovers 💃
Talking about the location, Masaledaar is sandwiched between Hotel Virudhu Nagar and Murugans Idli kadai.
Place is quiet new and the menu looks neat and glossy ;)
I ordered Thali -180rs, and every dish in the Thali was yumm. The only miss was achaar and dessert but then the Thali was flavourful.
Dragon panner was tender soft and good.
Panner fried rice was also good where panner was shallow fried and crispy.
Bill amounted to 590, for 3 dishes which definitely is worth.
For all those Northie food lovers, checkout.
New spot in Tnagar! Quiet and calm ,small place though! Food was great! We ordered the auhentic Fried Papad, Roti Tokri and Paneer Lababdar...Panneer was so soft and delicious!
They took little time to serve but it was worth the wait :-) Cost was reasonable- 500 for 2!
Do visit this place for an awesome lunch :-)🔥
Really nice collection of North Indian food items. Jain version is made to order. We tried Tomato Soup
and Veg Manchow Soup, Chandhani Paneer
and Chilly Baby Corn
, Roti, stuffed Kulcha, Jeera Pulao, Veg Banjara, Goldasta Paneer and Dal Tadka. Few of these are unique to Masaledaar. Taste was good, serving time was decent.
Masaledaar's T Nagar campus seats around 30 people at a time. Recommend a reservation during peak hours/weekends, as we noticed that this outlet is already got popular and attracts guests in good numbers.
One small drawback is non availability of rest rooms inside the restaurant- as it is located in basement. overall, good consideration if you're looking for veg, north Indian or Jain food around T nagar area
I had just visited Chennai after two long weeks and I wanted to not waste those precious two days before I go back to Bangalore. My friend invited me to this newly started restaurant.
Masaledaar in T.Nagar
Before I start, it's gonna be an all veg review so non vegetarian folks please forgive me for this.
About the restaurant's location, it is in the G.N.Chetty road, right next to Murugan idli shop. It is easy to miss the spot but I am sure in the upcoming days, it's going to be a hit.

We reached the restaurant around 1 o clock at noon. The first thing I saw was the smiling faces which was ready to host us. We were first served with a welcome drink. **Aam chur*** . Hope I spelled it right. With the sun right above my head all day, this cold jaljeera like drink just smoothed down my throat.
After that, It was time for some soup. I ordered my favourite Veg Manchow soup while my friends ordered Tomato soup. I will tell you this, I didn't need any pepper or salt. It was too right. Perfect to start a good lunch.
Later, we had our starters, Chandhani Paneer and Chilly Baby corn. I personally enjoyed Chandhani Paneer more. The cheese is daily fresh made and the spicy masala which coated the outer layer in a mild manner gave me the kicks.
Now going to the main course, we all shared roti, stuffed kulcha, jeera rice. Side dishes, we had veg Banjara, Goldasta Paneer and Dal Tadka. One quick suggestion, don't miss veg Banjara!!!
Finally we finished our lunch with Pan ice cream and gulab jamun!!!
Overall it was one good lunch to have on a hot day :)
#masaledaar @ Masaledaar Desi Rasoi TNagar
Make no mistake, Masaledaar whips up really pleasant North Indian food. This is one of their recent outlets and is located in GN Chetty Road in T Nagar. The place is small but they have done a good job with the spacing arrangement.
There is not much to talk about the ambiance and it's all about the food. The menu is a simple green coloured slider with limited options and not overflowing just to have stuff for the heck of it.
We started with a tomato soup which was fairly nice. The corn starter was quite good too. But what lorded the show was the absolutely amazing Chandani panneer tikka. The pieces were buttery smooth with dollops of cheese being coated across generously. It was truly melt in the mouth stuff.
For main course, we had Indian bread and peas pulao with yellow Dal fry and a curry called Goldasta panneer. The Dal was really nicely made and the panneer curry was sumptuous as well. We ended our meal with a delicious scoop of paan ice cream and we also had lovely glass of chaas which kept us company during our meal.
The service was quick witted and we got the items at a fast clip. The rates are a huge plus point. For the taste and quantity served, this is a real big win.
In conclusion, if you're looking out for some good authentic North Indian cuisine without really burning your pockets, Masaledaar should definitely strike a bell.
Thankfully discovered this recently opened little gem in T.Nagar. Located in the basement of Murugan Idly, its slightly hard to miss. But once you are inside you know you have made the right decision. They are an authentic North Indian vegetarian restaurant and one among the very few in T. Nagar. I had a tomato soup, Chandhani Paneer (made in house), Ghee Keecha, corn starter, Garlic Naan with Dhal makhani and Goldasta Paneer ending with a Paan ice cream and Hot Gulab Jamun. It's been quite a while since I had such an amazing yet delicious spread of North Indian items. It couldn't have been any more authentic. Service was prompt, ambience was perfect and a meal for two costed me around 850, which seemed to be very reasonable for a fine dining vegetarian restaurant. Would I go again? Most definitely I will.. Do try this one out for sure Deepika Mohan
An amazing authentic North Indian food place in TNagar, Lip smacking punjabi food prepared by chefs from Uttarakhand , Beautiful interior and prices too are reasonable. I had my kitty party there and everybody loved the food and ambiance, Should try their thalis too , Quick service and hot food served👍 Would definitely visit this place again
Masaledaar Desi Rasoi in T. Nagar is the perfect place for a scrumptious meal with family and friends. Being a vegetarian, it is difficult to find authentic vegetarian North Indian restaurants in Chennai that have delicious yet reasonably priced dishes. Located right in between Murugan Idli Shop and Virudhunagar on GN Chetty Road, a meal for two at #masaledaardesirasoi would cost you approximately ₹800.
The food was really good but my favourites from the main course were the Garlic Naan, Vegetable Banjara and Malai Kofta. They serve a tangy welcome drink and masala papad which is very thoughtful considering we step in from the heat and are pretty much hungry. The soft, fresh gulab jamun is a must try. The staff was courteous and paid attention to every little detail and request. Overall, I was happy with the ambience, service and the food. I would give this place a 5/5 simply because me and my stomach were equally happy.
