Simple ambiance and simple staff. We visited this place for lunch and ordered a biryani. Without a doubt it was delicious. I personally liked the coffee here as well!

This place is located at the busy street of Mylapore just stone throw distance from Kapaleeshwar temple.
Food is very tasty and must visit for vegetarians.
Parking is a big problem.
The ambience is very neat and hygienic nothing to complain about.

GSS mylapore is the best GSS outlet I have been to. Known for the sweets, their food is also pretty good.
The thali options are available only for lunch which I think is very unfair. Their bhajis are to die for. Chappathi is very hard to chew and not appealing to the taste buds. I ordered for a Gobi Manchurian semi gravy but received gobi Manchurian gravy. All the north Indian dishes are better here when ordered dry. The semi gravy and gravies have excess oil.
When it comes to south Indian food, they win hands down. The north Indian options are not as good as the south Indian ones.
Price is cheap and the ambience is good.

I am a big fan of their sweets but have always dodged the chances of eating a full fledged meal. But this time, when Saravana Bhavan was suggested, I pipped in said let's eat at GSS. Everyone agreed as it's pure veg n also a pretty decent restaurant.

There is nothing much to note about the ambience except the big posters of food. The smell of hot appams welcomed us as we stepped in the premises n as soon as we entered, the wonderful aroma of sweets made us succumb to the cravings.
My sister being sweets lover, ordered jamun as the first item πŸ˜‚ then we ordered soups, cashew pulav, roti, paneer tikka, veg kadai n finished our dinner with juice n coffee.

Paneer was so soft n totally yum. My pulav was really impressive with kaju roasted to the right colour. It was crispy too :) all the bread items were decent. The curry as it lacked any particular flavour. But the biggest bummer was the juice I ordered. I never thought that someone, let alone a restaurant could mess up a sweet lime juice 😏 it was too bitter n a bit tangy. And coming to coffee, my Maa n dad enjoyed their coffee a lot :) so a thumbs up for that.

Undoubtedly the best paniyaarams in and around Mylapore! They serve paniyaarams with yum tomato chutney. Soft, fresh finger-licking-good paniyaarams that can make your day. An evening stroll on North Mada street + Grand Sweets paniyaaram and Mysore pak is one of the best things you can do in Mylapore on a lazy weekend.
