The nalli kozhamdu and parotha were amazing.
Biryani is very average.
Few dishes were unable for lunch as well. But overall I enjoyed it.
Ordered mutton and chicken biriyanis. Meat pieces are soft and juicy. Kola mutton is crispy outside deliciously tasty inside. Prawn cooked in perfect condition. Overall best dining experience with courteous staff.
This Chennai local restaurant is simple, no frill eatery that boasts excellent food when it comes to lunch thaali. The price is very reasonable, the service is excellent and above all the thaali meal is very delicious for any person who grew up in Chennai enjoying the local vegetarian lunch meal. The unlimited meals consists of two dry curries, buttermilk Kozhambhu(a veg gravy made with buttermilk), puli Kozhambhu(a veg curry made with tamarind base), lentil pappads, south Indian pickle, Sambhar ( a type of lentil based veg curry) and a very very tasty rasam(South Indian clear soup made with tomato base and spices). Best thing is that all items were not overpowered with salt and oil, as most restaurants in Chennai do. The waiting staff were very attentive and were on their toes in replenishing any items as needed. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Chennai for a decent budget meals that is healthy and delicious.
Best place for traditional Chettinad style food and I’ve been a regular customer for last 25 years. Chicken gravy and Mutton gravy in a small metal bucket is their signature style of serving. Wonderful ambience and don’t miss to try their soup it will relax your thirst to the core.
Highly recommend spot and don’t miss to try it out with your friends and family ♥️
The taste and quality of the food is good. The Briyani’s are tasteful and feels authentic. I had ordered sides like mutton liver, brain fry and fish fry as well.. all of these were really good. The price is on the expensive side.
One of the oldest and the best restaurant which is serving authentic Chettinadu style dishes. I am not sure about the rest of the Ponnusamy outlet. But I am sure this is the best Ponnusamy outlet in Chennai with good ambience and service.
Must try dishes are Mutton Kola, Mutton Chukka, Chicken Gravy and their Biryani.
The taste of the food was very good, go and try the authentic non veg meals and thalis. The taste of the Biriyani will be very average. It's the fine dine place to taste a whole meals with variety of side dishes. Perfect place to dine in with your family.
Chicken briyani is top notch and it is less spicy and oil is very less... It's definitely unique compared to other famous briyanis...I felt cost is little overpriced for briyani and 1 medium fish fry cost around 330
We went in for lunch today. Chettinad flavours were really good!
Foods tasted:
- Chicken pichipota fry - good!
- Mutton kola urundai - mutton stuffing was less than expected but tasted good
- Mutton brain fry - simply awesome! (quantity could have been more for the price)
- Chettinad chicken briyani - very average
- Butter Naan/Garlic Naan
- Kadai Chicken - tasted okayish
Overall: 4/5
Best Place to have a Chennai Chettinadu style non veg food. A must try for Non Veg Lovers.
Make sure you go in early around 12pm or 12:30pm to taste many dishes. As most items won't be available after 2pm.
The service is super fast. Must try their Rasam with rice and Mutton Chukka. It was awesome.
Finish it last with Jallikattu Goli Soda. It was perfect.
If I have to be nitpicking then the traditional bill with Sweet Beeda and Hill Banana were missing. I had to choose other options from menu as some items like mutton bone soup and Suraputtu were already over and not available.

Food was ok. Excellent service and good ambiance.
This is a very simple place with no ambience. But the food served is good and has taste. They have a concept of serving 1/4 or 1/2 so that you can serve accordingly. But the prices are very high as per the portion of 1/4th with that kind of basic infrastructure. 1/4 th plate of mutton masala costed around 300 bucks. The staff is very courteous and active. It is a visit definitely worth of.
Too good taste for non veg meals, both quality, quantity and price were high, but need to improve service bit more as per the price.
Best South Indian Cuisine based restaurant in Chennai.
This place is always crowded you'll have to wait in queue to get the seats.
If you're craving South Indian Rasam, the best place to go.
Try unlimited Fish Meals along with Prawn Masala and Pepper Crab.
Had Biriyani and chicken lollypop.Biriyani was good but lollypop tastes like something else
Very good quality of food, but the quantity is very small and the price is too expensive. The service is very good and fast. The staff is friendly and kind.
One of the best restaurant in the Chennai. I liked very much all the dishes. We ordered Maharaja Meals. Price 1784.
