Their onam sadya is one of the best in the city! I was a tad dissatisfied with their customer service at first but later on they did prove that they care so much for their customers. I was really happy about their service, their food (it really was finger licking good) and how they presented the food! It's definitely a 5 on 5.
Posting a review just to get a reply about the cost given in Zomato. Please tell how many can share one dish. Missing my native cuisine so much....
We went to Ente Keralam,AnnaNagar last weekend and loved the food. The cleanliness and the service offered is much appreciated.. Adding to the servers , the manager came to us personally and he asked how is the food , do you have any issue with the taste and can I serve this for you etc.. this shows their respect to the clients and I whole heartedly Respect this . I will recommend this place to my friends and I thank the restaurant management, staffs for giving me great hospitality and amazing tasty foods . Keep up the good work guys
The food was good, just would have like the Biryani to have bit more of spice, the mutton was very dry, overall the food was really good
This place was in our bucket list since weeks. We utilized the zomato Gold offer. The starters we're different. Not too spicy but perfect.
We wanted to have with the Aapam. So the person suggested a nice gravy dish to go with it.
Overall, for the portion size and cost, I may think twice. That can be an improvement.

I’ve been a ardent lover of the Kerala cuisine . This thalassery chicken dum biriyani served at the Ente keralam took all my heart . It was soo yum that I’ve never had such a thalassery biriyani ever . The texture and the little ingredients like roasted onions sticking out at the tongue added a rich flavour to the biriyani .
Amazing place to have kerala style food. The flavour of coconut oil enriched the taste of food
Very originally malayali! Right from decor to music to lighting to food. Magically malayali.
Prawn roast is a must try! Also tried a coconut water and Tulsi leaves based drink. It was out of the world!
I happen to visit the place almost a month ago! The food is just sooo amazing. Honestly I always assumed Kerala food to be blunt, not spicy. But this way extra ordinary ! I happen to have their meals and totally love it. A must try ♥️
We came out for a meal .... And wanted to try this place. We ordered kundal (squid) fry and attin (mutton) soup. Kundal was very delicate and not at all rubbery. The soup had very delicate and mild taste. For main course we ordered nannd (crab) masala, mutton masala , appam and iddiyappam. Both the curries were good and the quantity was also good enough for four ppl. Appam was the best. It was soft and crispy in the edges and right amount of sweetness to go with the curries. And we ended it with illa neer payasam. That was the highlight of the day. One of the best payasam in a very long time. I would love to come here again especially for this payasm.
Lovely experience today at Ente Keralam.
What did we order?
Kerala Special Weekend Sadhya
Firstly, liked the ambiance very much. Restaurant was well quipped with air conditioning though it was really hot outside. Interiors were done neatly well. I had some query and the manager was helpful enough to sort it out for me. Serving was done on time. When we finished few items, they were happy to refill it.
There is choice of water - normal & jeera water.
Plate was served with plantain leaf with pre-filled ingredients. We started off with Paruppu rice. Then we proceeded with Sambar. Trust me, Sambar rice was heaven. This was followed by More Kuzhambu & Rasam. There were papad, Avial, porial, pickles, banana chips, Curd, butter milk & Banana.
We thoroughly enjoyed our food. It was tasty, filling but at the same time, our stomach did not feel that it was heavy/dumped.
Looking forward to going back again 😍
My family absolutely loves this place and we always make sure to go there for a get together sorts. The calm ambience and great food with Kerala's mild quintessence got us hooked to this place. Sadhya and Thalassery biriyani along with fish curry is mandatory and apart from this we love to end the meal with our favourite keraleeyam. Absolutely miss this place when I'm away from Chennai :'(
Ente Keralam was on my wish list for a long time. And i finally had the chance to visit it. Here is Detroit Food Safari look inside Ente Keralam. You would have known from the name, the restaurant offers Kerala style food. The restaurant is trying it’s best to look like a place in Kerala. But hotels like Kumarakom offers better Kerala styled themed than Ente Keralam. But for what it offers, it provides you a peace and calm place to dine. The restaurant might not provide ambience that other restaurants of such price class might offer, but it does the job.
One of the oldest Kerala food places in Chennai, Ente Keralam has come a loong way from serving luxury mallu food to reasonable great food. I went there for the vishu Sadya & was surprised to know that the price was the same as what I paid in 2011. There were 30 dishes including 4 payasams and I was not disappointed one bit.
Another grand info I HAVE to share is their Sunday Breakfasts -unlimited breads like appam, idiappam, puttu etc along with Chicken gravy, mutton gravy, kadala curry, bananas - all for a whopping 198 bucks ! I mean, for ente keralam - that is cheap.
The service is good but a bit slow. But overall, it's a nice experience.
Authentic Mallu Food?
•
I hear @entekeralamrestaurant ✨
Soft and fluffy appam and a portion of steamed hot puttu with kadala curry, their famous heart shaped deep fried vazhaipoo(plantain flower) cutlets and the elaneer payasam with tender coconut crunches for the dessert and their melody mix of malayalam songs makes us feel at Kerala💜
They have a live kitchen counter where a chechi does appam and puttu. The puttu was served hot and kadala curry would be the best combination to it. The restaurant was not soo much crowded. The staffs were sweet enough to suggest their best dishes.
Teh appam was served hot soft and fluffy.
The puttu was well cooked and served hot too. The kadala curry was the yummiest and went qell with appam and puttu.
Vazhaipoo cutlet was crispy only on the outside and soft and mashy on the inside. The staff said that this was their signature dish, but it dint satusfy my tastebuds.
Tender coconut payasam was the best, thick and sweet with square coconut pieces.
I totally liked the experience of having kerala food and would definetely visit this place if i am craving for puttu and kadala curry.
Staff : 5/5
Food :4.5/5
Ambience : 4/5
I have been here a couple of times. They have authentic Kerala food and it’s not very crowded. So you can have your food at peace. You can relax. The staff are friendly and attentive to our needs. The food is good and tasty. But a bit pricey I must say. Once in a while you can go here for their Kerala food. Their tender coconut payasam was really yummy. Their Malabar parotta and meals is very good.
Not a place for native South Indian foodie. But if you really wanna try Mallu food, you can hit this place.
1. Understand the menu first, get brief about the food.
2. I personally feel really costly, but when you ask me about the quantity and quality, Yes, 100% worth.
Thanks!
One of the best Kerala food restaurants in chennai😋😋😋 very well maintained with a good ambience....service seems a little slow but it's worth the wait.....very very tasty and authentic Kerala traditional foods......
1)Aattirachi Mappas- very very tasty and yummy mutton curry in coconut milk.....it's was the dish of the day
2)Thenga varutharacha curry beef- tasty and spicy beef curry
3)Appam and putty served with pappadam
4)Naranga vellam - tasty and 100 marks for the presentation.......
Must visit place for authentic kerala dishes prepared in coconut oil. They serve variety of traditional rice. Non Veg Meals combo is a must try. They serve traditional Desserts - variety of payasams. Wait time is 10 to 15 minutes but worth the wait
I don’t think people anymore read reviews to visit this place. Ente Keralam is definitely one among the best places for authentic kerala dishes 😊 Love the Ghee Rice (Ney Choru) beyond clouds ☁️
Special mention: Thanks Babu Ganesh for serving love!
The best Kerala cuisine restaurant in Chennai!
I went here on new year's eve and tried the special thali, my mind was blown! There were so many items and each item tasted oh so delicious! There was a delicious chicken curry, a tender and succulent mutton curry, a delicious duck Curry, a crispy prawn cutlet, and an egg masala which exceeded my expectations. The Malabar parotta was flaky and delicious, the idiyappam, appam and kalappam were so delicious that it reminded me of the ones that the malyali family next door used to make back when I was in the 6th grade. The combination of the appam with the curries was even better than I anticipated.
The deserts were delicious too! The elaneer paysam was naturally sweet and coconuty. The welcome drink that they gave us is one of my favorite welcome drinks of all time, it's a refreshing mixture of coconut water and exotic herbs best enjoyed when it's cool. The rasmalai was not part of the special thali but I loved it, honestly I don't like rasmalai, but I loved the one I had here , it rekindled my taste for such sweets.
The SERVICE was good enough. The servers were very polite, courteous and welcoming. They took a while to serve some dishes but that was probably because I ate everything faster than I normally do... Because everything was so delicious.
The AMBIENCE was was wonderful. The interior decoration and the lighting was good, the seats wee comfortable and everything was clean and hygienic in general. Also, it tries to look like a traditional kerela household which is nice.
I love this place! I'm sure you will too! Check this place out! You simply cannot miss this place if you're a fan of Kerala Cuisine!
Pretty expensive, but worth a try for authentic Kerala tastes.
Nice ambience and staffs are courteous. Antony's hospitality kept us in high.
Tried Malabar Biryani . It's cooked perfectly and the aroma is super good.
Malabar parotta with cooconut beef fry is a recommended combination. 4 Stars , cos of higher prices
One among the best hotels in anna nagar !!
Had tried kerala foods in kerala bt this restaurant tinched its food with something even more !! Everydish we tried were woww . And i would like to go to this place again and again for its PAYASAM !!
Ente Keralam which translates to My Kerala. And that's the feeling you'd get after eating the food they serve, no matter which state you are from. Like, you'd be like, This is my ghar ka khaana; my home food; feels like I'm home, buddy and shit like that. Go for the beef. Go for the puttu. Go for the Kerala parotta. Go for the traditional chicken and fish dishes.
Visiting this branch after almost a year and very happy to see that the food and service remains good First had the pineapple rasam which was nice but a tad spicy for me Vazpoo cutlets an yam fry an ghee rice an Aleppy curry an stew and aapams Stand outs were Vazpoo cutlets Aleppy curry and ghee rice
Great Kerala food. Wheat porotta, appam, Kerala chicken curry and chena fry. It broke the limbo I was in. Always a place I will go back to regain my appetite. I highly recommend their chicken curry and appam. Will definitely be visiting several times again.
Ente keralam what to say it’s an awesome kerla Special place once this was our favourite place of outing
All our treats starts and ends here

Stew meen polichathu and ilaneer payasam and Nanari will be awesome and fav dishes for us
Went to this restaurant for Vishu to have a proper kerala sadhya. They had a special vishu sadhya priced at about Rs. 600.
The ambience was really nice as they had decorated the place for vishu. The place was really crowded on that day and we had to wait for about half an hour before getting a table.
The sadhya was really good and satisfied our cravings. There were four varities of payasam too. Overall a really nice experience.

I feel at home whenever I visit Ente Keralam. Appam and stew are to die for in this Kerala restaurant. I tried the Rajakeeyam once and I couldn't move from my table after the meals. This kingly meal has everything from Kerala cuisine, you name it, it'll be on the plate.
Food - 5
Service - 5

I’m a vegetarian Malayali (I know, sounds like an oxymoron!). But besides the fact that my family loves eating here, I love Ente Keralam for more reasons than one.
Beyond the obvious Mal connect, it serves the best puttu-kadala with fluffy papadoms. Other dishes I love are their Ghee rice, appam and ulli theeyal. Am a dessert freak and their Elaneer payasam is true manna 😋

One of those places which serves mouth watering Thalassery Biryanis.. Must visit for just this one if not anything else..
The added brownie points are the courteous staff and a great ambience..
Keep it up!
There was puttu festival going on.. previous visit at alwarpet was big disappointment (kings meal). We went late almost closing time.. most of the restaurant service dip towards the end, but service at ente kerelam always good, explaining about dishes well..many restaurants won't do that..
Our orders
1. Kereleyam
At first sip didn't liked it.. but got addicted to it when I about to finish.. good refreshing drink.
2. Pepper rasam
Ordered pepper rasam since I had sorry throat.. and it was perfect with pepper , rasam taste came out well
3. ordered multi grain puttu with kadala curry combo.. 4 types of grain was used.. each part of that puttu gave uniqe taste.. kadalai curry was average. Yam fries - a very average one ..
5. Vazhapoo vadai- not that great served with ketch up
6. Nei meen polichadu- its vanjaram cooked with masala in banana leaf.. very good..
7. Vanjaram fry- perfectly marinated n tastes very good.
8.Appam with coconut milk.. Appam s very soft n pluffy. Coconut milk complimented appam well
9. Paal ada payasam- finished with this.. divine taste..
Very satisfying visit.. excellent service , tasty food.. Have to mention the quality of coconuts they using.
Chicken stew and Appam from Ente Keralam is one of the best food one can order in Chennai. Exhorbitant cost, but...
Went there for their Saadia along with my family. Ambience is pretty cool, almost art-gallery like look. Staff were prompt and food serving time with their accompaniments, finally followed by Dessert was all done in a timely manner.
While my family ordered the veg Saadia, I had the non-veg. Variety was pretty good and the taste was by and large okay. It would have been great had Ente Keralam provided something unique in their Saadia which authenticates, a sort of preview of their overall menu.
Had to wait for a bit for the bill. I am taking a point off only due to the fact, a service charge of 10% was charged on my bill, that's like Rs.240/- in service charge apart from the 5% GST that we need to pay.
It has valet parking and beautifil enterance with interior ambience and decor elegant and neat. Courteous waiters too. Went for a quick dinner so ordered the set meal vegetarian and non vegetarian. Very authentic taste of kerala. All dishes were served hot. The curries were yum. The banana flower cutlet was awesome. Even in the non veg version the mutton stew, chicken curry and prawn curry were delicious. Parotta Idiappam aapam were awesome. The ghee rice was fragrant and appetising. The payasam and icecream served as desert was perfect end to a perfect meal.
Limited meal option was good. It was value for money.
Definitely will go again.
Ente Keralam is hands down known for their amazing Sadyas. Therefore for this Onam we were invited to try their Onam Sadya which was a really special affair.
We had given a special platter with banana leaf on it on which the wide dishes of Onam Sadya was served. From Kalan and Olan to Erissery and Puliserry, they had it all along with the traditional Kerala rice. Not only this, there were other dishes too that complimented the Sadya meal very well.
For desserts we were served four different varieties of payasams. Each one was different and tasty on its own.
We also got to have a chat with the very courteous chef who prepared all these dishes for us with an enthusiastic zeal.
On the whole, it was a very heavy lunch that ended with happy stomachs!
Being a Malayali, this is one of the few options available for authentic Kerala cuisine near my place. The Alleppey fish curry and Malabar Parotta combo is a must have. The Nannari Sherbat is another must try.
King’s feast .. was damn good .. lil pricey though ..you would taste all favours of kerala dishes .. except for beef .. must try for everyone
A weekend dinner with family. We had vazhapoo cutlet, trivandrum style chicken fry, mutton soup, puttu, appam, kozhikodan style pothirachi curry, nadan chicken curry. Beef curry was delicious. It was super good with puttu and Appam. Can't say the quantity is decent for the rate. But the food was good..
Interior and exterior is good, And food service and delivered on time.
I Ordered thalarvarth Chicken Biryani & Meal... Taste is really good ...
Payasam was really good.
food was delivered on time
ente keralam was in my list for a while finally we decided to go there we both went to that restaurant weekends actually it was crowded on weekends we waited for 15mins and finally got table
first they served some Kerala special chips actually its free about food we first started with thalasery aadu (mutton) biryani the taste of the biryani was good but the quantity of the biryani was less for the price but there is not a variety of gravy options and the malabar barrota was really good I liked it and finally the appam with coconut milk was very good but we have to buy separately coconut milk cost Rs 50 overall I was satisfied with the taste of the appam and barrota if u really want to taste authentic kerala food best place
vfm : 3.5/5
Taste : 3.5/5
Had a lunch at this restaurant which made my lunch an awesome experience.... this is not the first time I visited..... all the three visits are impressive.... we orders for mutton soup, vazhapoo cutlet, veg biryani and Kerala Sandhya meal... all the dishes were tasty and yummy. The only small disappointment is they need to work out with their service..... it can be more friendly manner.......
Such a grt food cannot go down with service.
Went to this place for lunch , tried their onam special menu . The place has a lovely Ambience and the place takes you to Kerla. Also the tables had a phamlet explaining onam and the how to eat the food. The food which was served was nice and loved the beautiful collection of paysam s. This place is a definite place to go to .

Had a wonderful lunch here. The veg sadya was very tasty and served well. Service was very good - everyone was focusing on serving the customer and no delays for anything. The tawa vanjiram fry was bliss
Only gripe was they are not accepting Zomato payment for sadya meals.
Overall a satisfying experience.
Good hotel with authentic Kerala food. Nice and spacious ambience with pleasant music. The food tasted good. The price is high. Ordered a pathiri and duck roast combo, sadhya, pacha kurumulagu chicken. The bill was around 1300. Service was too good.
It was my first time here and specifically here for Onam feast.
It was presented well and service was prompt. All the dishes were delicious especially pineapple gojju. A payasam plate had the four desserts of Onam. Rice was Kerala boiled rice and tasting everything with the bowl of rice was sufficient and sumptuous. Jackfruit & banana chips along with fryums was crispy. Kerala papadums were yum. Since I didn’t go for second helpings, I could walk out after a great meal. Kudos to the staff at Ente Keralam for the presentation and service. Cooking staff have done an exceptional job for the feast.
Better than any other kerala restaurants in annanagar. Pricey, but worth the taste. Family loved it. Good experience. All dishes were perfect, no comments. Small parking area, there was an elderly person to support with parking arrangements. Best ambience. Overall Perfect
Update 16.06 Nothing changed. Awesome as before, Good Service to add.

This is definitely good for a small group or family dinner. Though it is a bit pricey, I feel it's worth it. Of course Appams are good but the curries are just splendid.
Service was the staff is very courteous, helpful in providing suggestions and generally provides a welcome feeling.
Usually it is not crowded and you will most likely be seated right away.
It's very nice...... Authentic kerala style cuisine.......
Traditional kerala lunch ( sadhya) I had here .
Wonderful
Amazing place to have authentic Kerala food. It's costly but they have soulful dishes that are worth trying.
Quaint unasuming restaurant in Anna Nagar serving authentic Kerala cuisine.
Ente Keralam Box Ticked
Easily accessible from Anna Nagar Tower Metro
Located at the 5th Avenue which is good to find out
Valet Parking isn't that big to park more than 3 cars.
Had tried many kerala hotels in Chennai Bangalore Pondy, this is also one of the best.
Ambience and art in the place is good and traditional..
Seating placements were looking great.
Tried few food items from their menu and my opinion as follows
Mutton Soup 3.5/5
Thiruvananthapuram Chicken fry 3/5
Puttu (White) 4/5
Malabar Parotta 4.5/5
Thalaserry Chicken Biryani 4/5
Idiyappam 4/5
Nadan Kozhi Curry 3/5
Alleppey Chicken Curry 4.5/5
Pal Ada Payasam 5/5
Customer service is great as all the staffs are looking to serve all the tables. Its not like this particular table has been allocated for this particular guy kind of stuff
The price is looking bit expensive but when you compare with quality and quantity it is okay okay.
One of the decent Kerala cuisine based restuarants in chennai
There is no adequate parking and the ambience was good but they should work on ventilation too
We had visited this place for dinner
Only one AC and two wall mount fans was working,I was literally sweating alot they should check regarding this
Many of the customers were feeling the same
The food taste was pretty good
We ordered egg appam,Ghee rice,Thatukadai beef varuval and a neimeen fry
Tastewise everything was nice
The price was bit on higher side
Because the quantity didn't match with price
The neimeen fry was around 600
Which is high for that size
The restaurant was full and buzzing tried out their dish of the day sea food biryani and kizhyparota was excellent we also tried their masala prawns which was yummy.. coming here after ages but the food quality still has been maintained of it improved. A definite place to visit for mallu food lovers the service was excellent with a smile. The manager was very efficient
Authentic Kerala Style food in Anna Nagar with excellent customer service.Palada payasam is a must try.
That was a long time desire to try it out ,here is the list of few that we tried;
The chicken tasted good a little sour but that's completely fine due to flavours added,Parotta was also good it was big for me- we got two , the traditional beef was good and it's of semi gravy kind of stuff - the quantity served was more more than sufficient for two/three people, Nei chooru was tooo good 💯💯❤️❣️it was served with pappadam and 3 more sides, thalessery veg curry was also good with the tastes of coconut in it , the tender coconut ice cream is a must try 🤙🙌- though wanted to try tender coconut payasam, since we reached a little late beyond 8:50 pm could get only few of the lists in menu when it came to desserts.
Missed tasting appam and coconut milk, Ela Ada due to our late dine in.
It costed around 1.5k
If found useful🤞 ,thank you 😊
Nanni 🙏!
Heartfelt appreciation post:
I have dined here once and have ordered takeaways many times. The taste has been consistent throughout.
What made me post this review especially today is that, when I added a request for extra sides like raita, appalam etc for the Chicken biriyani I ordered on an app, they provided it and were generous with the quantity of the extras. Usually most of the other restaurants do not give such extra items when
ordered online but I wanna appreciate the restaurant for valuing the customers.
Made my day 😍
Their chicken biriyani is my all time favourite - it goes well with their dates pickle, raita, chammanthi and appalam ❤️.
Apart from that , I love their coconut milk - very rich.
Thank you
I think it is overrated. The name is familiar for most of us but the food they serve is like usual and the quality is good. If you are looking for something pocket friendly then it's not the one. Super expensive and the ambience is not so great.
One of the best Kerala restaurant in Chennai. Enjoyed completely all the dishes there. Also cost is affordable. Ambience is outstanding. Must try restaurant in Chennai.
