Went on Saturday with couple of my friends and found the place is really good.... Having big dance floor and selection of drinks are wide.... The staffs are very helpful and they suggested food after knowing our preferences... The Prawn was yummy and worth for the money... We want to stay for long but couldn't... will visit again soon and will spend more time over here.... Manager Arun Kannan (if not wrong) is very approachable & welcoming ...

Great place to unwind & celebrate weekend nights.Ranjan is great with mixing liquors, sweet & syrups into heavenly cocktails apart from offering a good choice of mocktails and spirits. Music makes you groove and a separate smoking room is another great idea because not everyone who drinks also smokes. Extase takes Chennai night life to another level.

Delightful ambience, rocking music and DJ. Excellent experience of warm welcoming and being greeted by employee, seated and liquor order taken. Choices/ offers for liquor was excellent, especially for ladies. Starters served was hot and yummy. Staffs were very helpful and friendly

Extase is the bar at Ramada Plaza. Caught sight of this hotel earlier while crossing the area n there was a hoarding about the bar announcing some offers. So when there was a blogger invite from this place, I decided to check out this place! Mr Nandi is the bar manager here who's affable.
Ambiance n Bar
It's pretty spacey that's for sure, with comfortable sofa like seating and carpeted flooring. Now the decor isn't flashy but a bit staid. Reminds me of places like Bay 146 with a section on the far end for a band to play. The Bar counter is long and they have a big collection of liquor with single malts n imported beers being given additional focus. The centerpiece of the bar collection is the inconspicuous looking John Walker - King George which the bartender said costs a cool 1.5l and a 30 ml measure of this one sells at 4.5k all included!! If someone does taste it do leave a comment about the drink below! :D
The bar menu is very nicely organized making it easy to choose exactly the kind of drink you love. Cocktails are separated into sections based on the kind of liquor used to make it, whisky, rum, gin, vodka etc. We were offered to choose a cocktail.
I tried the Rum based "Magnetize" which was Barcardi, hazelnut, whipped cream and dark rum. This was served in a glass similar to small cold coffee mugs and looked good. It was completely white with a slice of pineapple. First sip with the straw and it was a potent cocktail as it should be. Though creamy one could feel the alcohol content more. Would have preferred more hazelnut flavor to come through. They can use premium liquor for an additional charge of 200 the menu said. They give some complimentary sides like chips, peanuts with the alcohol.
Next, on to the food where the Chef who's quite experienced sent in dishes to taste. Below are the dishes with opinions on the taste. The dishes are priced at 300 bucks on avg.
Cheese Cigars: These were freshly made and each came in a separate shot glass with some dipping sauce in it. The crunch was yum n it was flaky n good. Nice one.
Kari Sukka: Typical mutton sukka presented well. Not sure whether what we received was the actual portion given to customers but the quantity was quite good being mutton and tasted good too. Spices roasted right n not overly spicy. Tender mutton morsels.
Honey glazed chicken: This was the best dish of the evening easily with the generous glaze of honey making it quite sweet amidst the crunch of the tender chicken pieces that had been moderately fried. Topped with sesame seeds. A must try but not sure if it's on the menu! Ask the chef for it!
Quesidillas: I tasted both the veg and non-veg one which had chicken. It was good. The shell was fresh made thankfully and the inside was decently tasty. Not mindblowing, but tasty enough.
Mexican Nachos: Standard nachos topped with baked beans n cheddar cheese sauce. This was decent a step up from the plain nacho.
Chuza Laal Tikka: Basically a chicken tikka the presentation was elaborate in a skewer hung between a wooden frame. The tikka itself was soft and moderately spiced. Good. About 7 pieces.
Tangri Kebab: Not sure if this is the exact dish name but this was decent too. Leg pieces of chicken tandoored in a mild marinade.
Chilli Fish: This was a soft batter coated fish. A fried item, the fish was fresh and less spicy. Accompanied by a spicy chilli paste like side.
Now it seems the bar has a band coming to play every weekend and twice a month next month onwards. The band that played was pretty good and the music was loud enough to get you dancing. They had a lady singer/MC named Aishwarya Kumar performing. She was good n sang some classic songs. The DJ's playlist also had classic numbers. It seems the bar wants to be centered around music so that's a good step.
Downstairs there's a cafe/restaurant called Scallion which has a complete buffet 24 hours. The dinner costs around 1.4k all included there and is good value. They serve liquor there as well.

'Extase' is a new resto pub which has bubbled up in the recently opened star property Ramada Plaza in Guindy and calling it as happening is quite an understatement. It is massive and well spread out with sofa based seatings ideal for a huge set of people to come in and gulp drinks and appetisers to their hearts content.
The bar is the centrifugal force being right at the middle of the limelight and they have various kinds of cocktails with many imported ones as well across categories. We tried a number of them particularly of the Rum, whisky and vodka based and ended up liking most of them. They were all different to look at but power packed in taste and texture. These drinks also had interesting names associated with them akin to the pep they generate such as rupture, thrilling, shattering etc. I would really like to complement their drink stack menu as it's properly divided across groups and also price wise seems to be fairly reasonable in comparison to other places.
We also had a few stuff to munch such as pin wheel samosa, veg quesadilla, cheese cigars, panneer tikka, tandoori aloo et al in addition to the usual peanuts and chips to go along with our drinks. The peanuts had a hint of wasabi in them for the spice quotient which went very well by the side. The appetisers were all quite good and also the presentation was done in sterling style. My only suggestion would be to ramp up on the food side of things as options seems to be a little limited and they hardly have any main course. Some people do like to have a biryani/indian bread with curries after a dose of drinks and a few select items being there would be helpful.
On the whole, it was a fun evening. The music was terrific and soaked in the atmosphere. There is a live band belting out scintillating music of yesteryear and you couldn't ask for more to go along with your whittle. The service was top notch and they made sure that every effort was taken to ensure we have a whale of a time.
Do give this resto pub a visit. There are plenty of chances that you will have a rocking time with good food, drinks and music for company.

Good choice of drinks.... food very tasty.. in a particular food section of menu they guarantee starters to be served in 10mins of ordering... enthusiastic staff... the music was good but it seems they are reworking on their sound and entertainment... ideal pĺace in case you want to unwind and have a good time with friends.. seating is comfortable unlike many bars in the city... lighting level is perfect, neither to bright not too dark....drinks prices unbelievably low & can be easily compared with stand alone even though it's managed by a five star hotel... lastly portion size of food is very generous...will surely be regular to this place.

This New Resto-Bar is Located on "Level R" and is pretty spacious enough to seat quite a good amount of crowd.
The Bar Manager Mr.Nandhivarman took good care of our table.

I was here on a Saturday night , and the DJ was doing his job on point and I really enjoyed the Music. Then there was an amazing special performance for the Night by a Band with Aishwarya Khumar singing the lead so I could say it was pretty Lit 🔥.

Almost all the dishes we had irrespective of its origin had a slight south Indian touch to it and was pretty delectable.
Verdict : One Minus I felt was the service was intermittently slow but otherwise I would say we had a Great time with some Good drinks to get us high and Groovy Music to get us higher. The place I feel does Justice to their pricing and they have quite a Wide Range of Drinks comparatively .

Nice ambience, should try chilli masala prawn fry, you can get a lot imported beer varities i.e rice n wheat beer. Extase restobar is having a small dance floor too, I went on Saturday night, usually dance floors on Saturday night will be overwhelming, but couldn't see much of audience, even though they had a DJ with ladies night theme,.. but for me I felt like dancing alone.
