Was here to try out the dim sum and sizzlers cuz there's this amazing fest happening over there and I must say this is one underrated Chinese restaurant and a really good one that everyone should visit. It was set menu that was priced very reasonably and the staffs over there were very kind enough to explain each and every dish that was served and also the service timing was spot on.<br/><br/>We started off with an proper mutton and chicken clear soup , you could choose your choice of meat in your soup at the soup counter. There's also a salad counter where you can get fresh crispy noodle salad and kimchi. The dim sums and the bao were served together and I must say this was one of the best closed bao I've tried and the each dim sum served was soo unique in its own way which will be served along with two sauces to dip with. In sizzlers we tried the duck in tao's sauce with fried rice and lamb in Szechuan sauce with noodles, the duck was the duck was the show stopper, cooked to perfection that went soo well with the tao's sauce and the lamb in Szechuan sauce tasted just like every other Szechuan dish so nothing complaint about it. For desserts we had the banana fritters and chocolate brownie, banana fritters was my personal favourite crispy on the outside soft, mushy and sweet on the outside that went well with the vanilla icecream and the brownie was spot on hard on the outside and gooey inside.<br/><br/>Overall this fest is a must visit if you're someone who loves Chinese cuisine or someone who loves dim sums and sizzlers.<br/><br/>Ambience : 8/10<br/><br/>Service : 9/10<br/><br/>Food : 8/10<br/><br/>Overall experience 8/10

The set menu was priced reasonable considering the kind of food and the brand.<br/><br/>The staff were really responsive and the order processing time was pretty quick. The non veg dimsums platter was just too good, and we were given an unlimited option for it. Oh yes, and don't forget to try their prawn crackers and kimchi salad which is served before the meal. The bao breads were really soft with a good amount of stuffing in it.<br/><br/>The main course was primarily dominated by the sizzlers. The Schezwan duck sizzler was my personal favourite, they got a wide range of combinations to choose from. The brownie is just drool-worthy here, it has got the perfect texture and goes so well with the icecream.<br/><br/>Recommended!

A class apart restaurant at Ramada Plaza Guindy, Scallion has it's interiors beautifully done. They take us straight to the land of Asian cuisine. I went here for their Dimsums & Sizzlers Food Festival that is held between Feb 10th to 23rd. The entire menu is curated by Chef Lama. The buffet costs you 1299/- where you can choose a salad, a soup, a variety of momos and dimsums, baos, noodles and rice, and dessert. both veg and non-veg options are available.<br/>They welcomed us with Prawn crispies and Pumpkin crispies. Both were amazingly good. The taste was great.<br/>For soup, they have vegetable broth. You can choose your meat and vegetables along with an assortment of condiments. This tasted absolutely delicious, that I went for a second round.<br/>Then came the jasmine tea. Poured from a cute little pot, this was so refreshing for the evening.<br/> Crispy noodle salad. Shredded vegetables with sweet & sour sauce, is a delight for all salad lovers.<br/>We had an assortment of dimsums and momos, made with chicken, prawns, fish and a few veg options. By the second serving, we realized that we can actually keep eating them so much. It was that good.<br/>BBQ chicken bao, another must-try here. Soft baos filled with shredded chicken pieces.<br/>For the main course, you can choose your option from duck, lamb, chicken, seafood or veg, made with your choice of sauce and accompanied by rice or noodles, with a preparation style of Hakka, Szechuan or yanzhoa.<br/>We got lamb and duck in black pepper sauce with egg butter garlic rice. The rice was different and good. The lamb was excellent. The duck's flavor was good, though I wished it was made with fresher meat.<br/>Chicken made in hot garlic sauce with Szechuan noodles, tasted so yum. The chicken was well cooked and the flavor of the sauce was delicious.<br/>Both the main course quantity was good enough for a single person.<br/>For the dessert we had Banana fritters that were dipped in caramel and honey. Must try! You will get a sugar rush from this. And Chocolate brownie with vanilla icecream. The brownie was soft and gooey and had the right amount of sweetness.<br/>Their service was too good. They patiently helped us understand how every dish was made and handled all our specifications that we required..<br/>Pricing is a steal deal for the number of items you get it. And if you're a lover of momos and dimsums, you'll be delighted about this.

Worst taste in food and complete waste of money. Not at all worth it. They charge ITC Grand Chola rates here, with absolutely incomparable ambience and service quality. No Staff at all to serve even 2 tables. The service was such that they were forcing us to finish off the food quickly and get lost, after paying heavy bill. I think, this restaurant will close down soon. If anyone is willing to spend this kind of money, go to ITC Grand chola, PAN Asian or even Hyatt. And the 5 star reviews are definitely fake.

I had been to this restaurant for trying out Thai food festival ,along with my husband who doesn't consume seafood kind and gracious enough to accept the my request not too to use any seafood ingredients and had replaced every ingredients with chicken instead of prawns or fish. The THAI FOOD FESTIVAL is very authentic and honest to its roots. But, Is it a blessing or a curse? <br/>This week, I finally decided to give myself some adventure. It’s been a while since I’ve tried a new cuisine and I’ve been eagerly waiting to get my hands on the Thai cuisine for a long time now. So, I and three of my mates entered Scallion's THAI FOOD FESTIVAL, where awaited our pleasant encounter with Thai food. <br/><br/>To start with, The lights were dim and cozy and were perfect for a delightful dining experience. We were given a very pleasant reception from the staff and were directed to a Conference room, which was quite weird but felt nice. <br/><br/>Now, we take our guard and wait for the balls to smash them out of the stadium. <br/>The Soups started to roll, The Vegetarian soup in the menu was TOM YAM PHAK, flavorful soup with Lemongrass, Kafir lime and Bird Chillies. This soup was authentic Thai and had a perfect lemongrass flavor to it. The Non-Vegetarian soup, TOM JHUED TOA-HU GAI SALE is not as complex as it sounds. It’s a vegetable clear soup with tofu and chicken. Definitely, the vegetarian soup wins over the non-vegetarian in this Battle of Soups. <br/><br/>Then the Salads came into the picture, YAM MAMOUNG GOONG SOD, the spicy mango salad with shrimps and YUM KAI YANG, grilled chicken salad with lemon chilli were very delicious and to my surprise they had a unique texture of the lemon blend perfectly with the shrimps and chicken respectively. On the other hand, YAM KANA, blanched spinach mixed with Thai spice and YAM HED ROUM, mixed mushroom salad were good but not great. <br/><br/>Non-Vegetarian appetizers started to roll, the TAHU YANG KHAM WAN, Grilled Tofu with Green Chill Sauce was a perfect start to dinner. In the Non-Vegetarian Appetizers, the THUNG THONG, Thai Traditional Spring tool with pork and prawn had a unique taste to it and looked exquisite. The other vegetarian appetizers, MA HOR, Fresh pineapple topped with mushroom peanuts and the non-vegetarian appetizer LEAB GAI, Spicy chicken salad with Thai vegetarian were different from its kind but missed to impress us. <br/><br/>We were also served the starters from the Scallion's very own menu. These dishes for me are Show Stoppers. We were introduced to this menu by Dim sums. They served us two varieties of dim sums, Vegetable Dim Sum and Chicken Sumai. Both these Dim Sums here were very precisely cooked and perfect. Then came the BEST DISH OF THE EVENING FOR ME, Drums of Heaven, doing absolute justice to its name. Everything about this dish was exemplary. Pandan Chicken and Braised Broccoli with Mushroom and Tofu also deserves a special mention. Indeed, the Scallion's Starters looked fabulous and tasted delicious. <br/><br/>Now, We move on to the Main Course, PLA RAD PREK, deep-fried fish with chili sauce was textured well and but could have been spicier. MASSAMAN, Lamb stew with curry was the best dish in the Main course. It was very authentic and shaped out as a surprise to us. In addition to these, KHAO MALI ( Jasmine rice), PNAD THAI (fried noodles with shrimps) and KRA PAO KAI (Stir-fried chicken with chili and hot basil ) were good. <br/><br/>We had no room in our tummies for a Dessert. But, we wanted to try everything and nodded yes for it. MUN CHEUAM, sweet potato in syrup and coconut milk was the best way to end this delicious journey. <br/><br/>On the whole, It was an extraordinary dinner adventure and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Definitely worth visiting with your friends and family.

30th November I was invited for the “Thai Food Festival” by a friend, at Scallion, the Pan Asian Restaurant of Ramada Plaza by Wyndham! <br/>Under the able culinary expertise of Chef Kittitouch Srisaraphet, Chef Doung Dao Putchakan, Chef Rujiwan Lertwiriwong and Chef Lama, we were delighted with some amazing, authentic Thai delicacies, spanning across meticulously chosen appetizers, salads, soups, main courses and desserts. Besides, we, the diners were treated to some absolutely fantastic hospitality by the entire team at Scallion. <br/><br/>The spread gave us a complete exposure to the authentic Thai delicacies that one wouldn’t miss when in Thailand, except that as a diner I did expect “Mango and Sticky Rice” as one of the main desserts (being someone who’s known that any Thai meal would end with that; but of course mango not being in season can be a factor for its obvious absence); and “Pla Rad Prek” or Deep Fried Fish with chili sauce was a tad too dry for my taste. <br/>However what actually tantalized my tastebuds were the appetizers like “Thung Thong”/Thai Traditional Spring Roll With Prawns, “Ma Hor”/Fresh Pineapple topped with mushroom and peanuts, not to miss a sleek cut Thai red chili in them and “Gaeng Keaw Wan Kai”/ Green Curry with Chicken as part of the main course.<br/><br/>Overall an extremely satisfying gastronomical experience. <br/><br/>As we slowly draw the curtains to this year, please make sure to add this as an important event in your calendar, at Scallion between 1st-15th December for some great Thai food in Chennai!

We made an online booking through Zomato for Scallion as we were looking for some different Asian food. We were welcomed by Bikram who took care of us. We ordered a Tom kha soup which was lovely with a mild lemon grass flavor. For entrée we ordered fried lotus stem and a vegetarian dim sum which was flavorful and nice. <br/>We kept it light for main course with some garlic brown rice and Thai greens. Both were authentic and Tasty! <br/>Since we were celebrating a birthday they surprised us with a small cake as well. The white chocolate cake was rich yet smooth . We thoroughly enjoyed the Overall experience specially Bikram who was very professional and courteous. Quite agree with Zomato's rating. Strongly recommend Scallion for a good dining experience. Being hidden away, we were surprised at our dining experience and will definitely visit again!

Scallion, the Pan Asian restaurant located inside Ramada Plaza on Sardar Patel Road (Guindy), has come up with a new menu and I had to try it out. <br/>Having been to Ramada on several occasions, I must tell you that their service is top notch. As we were settling down, the manager informed us that we were in luck today as they had just stocked up their kitchen with pandan leaves and one of Chef Lama’s signature dish was the Pandan Chicken. <br/>We places our orders as per the Management’s recommendation. <br/>SOUP & SALAD<br/>A steaming hot bowl of Tom Yam Soup was brought first followed by some Thai Green Mango Salad and Laab Kai (minced chicken). The soup was pretty hot because of the bird chilies but we still enjoyed it. It was a thin broth flavoured with kafir lime and lemon grass. Go for it if you are craving something hot. Both the salads were equally good. <br/>STARTERS <br/>When their star dish, the Pandan chicken arrived at the table I was intrigued. What could be so special about this I wondered. As I was unwrapping the nearly folded Pandan leaves the aroma of the steamed leaf combined with the chicken hit my nose. The chicken looked whiteish without any traces of marination. But when I bit into it, it was as just brilliant. The Pandan lead had lent its flavour to the chicken and made it very tasty. This is definitely one of their must try dishes.<br/>Being someone who loves seafood especially prawns, I really enjoyed Ebi Tempura. When we first tried it, we found it to be very oily but they immediately replaced it with a fresh batch which was just perfect. <br/>Their Dim Sum basket looked quite colourful to differentiate between the Vegetarian, chicken and prawn fillings. For someone like me who doesn’t find vegetarian dim sums interesting, I quite liked them here. I liked the one with the prawns the best. They had 4 different sauces to go the dimsums. <br/>For the vegetarians, you might want to try some crispy fried lotus stems in Kung Pao sauce and some corn tartlets. The latter is tossed in chili basil and is very tasty.<br/>MAINS<br/>Since we had almost filled ourselves with the starters, we requested for small portions for the main course. They readily obliged and made a platter for us with Nasi Goreng, Masaman Curry, Char Kway Teow and a Vegetarian side. <br/>The masaman curry, full of flavour was delicious. However the Nasi Goreng was my favourite. It did not have a very strong odour like in other restaurants. It was so tasty that I enjoyed every morsel. It is dishes that like that one would crave now and then. The Singapore seafood noodles was a tad bit oily. The braised broccoli with mushroom and tofu was quite nice and went well with the noodles. <br/>DESSERT<br/>With hardly any room for dessert, we decided to skip it but was convinced into trying their fried ice cream. From my experience, their version of the fried ice cream is the best so far. It is quite huge a portion and is topped with condensed milk and dedicated coconut. That’s what sets it apart from the rest. I was surprised at how it had maintained its shape despite me letting it sit for sometime, trying to get that perfect shot.<br/>COST<br/>A meal for two would cost approximately cost around 2,500/- INR<br/>SERVICE<br/>Very attentive and extremely courteous staff. <br/>IN A NUTSHELL<br/>Definitely must try for the Pandan Chicken and Fried Ice Cream

It’s always tough to say which cuisine I like most, as being a foodie, I like different dishes from different cuisines. There are cravings for particular dishes for sure, but Asian food does call me more often. Me and my friend happily dine at Asian restaurants a lot. . When Ramada invited us over to taste the new menu launched at Scallion, how could we miss it. To be honest, I didn’t have an idea about this restaurant. Thanks to Ramada for introducing this hidden gem to me. We loved the food and hospitality.

We had been for dinner at Scallion. Really liked the ambience , the food and their service. They have a new Pan Asian menu. I tried Thai green curry and it tasted awsum and genuinely Thai. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality they serve. I would recommend it to my friends :)

Ppl primarily come to restaurants to have a good time accompanied by great food. Am sorry to say the experience was horrible. Thai food is supposed to be flavourful but the noodles that was served tasted like rubber and the prawns and veggies added in the phad Thai was pathetic to say the least. Completely lost my appetite.
