I loved this place and people. Wow. This is the best place for noodels and brownies. The taste is more than heaven. Wow. No words to describe.
Really liked the ambience here. The manager is really sweet! Near and clean place ! Love the brownie!
The noodle theory is a self service joint with indoor seating. They have an interesting menu which allows you to customize the main course orders with a choice of rice, noodles, veggies & sauces.
We tried the fresh noodles with mallaka sauce. It was really yummy. We also had the spicy mushroom sushi rolls which were decent. The lemon ice tea and ginger lemon drinks were also very good. We had ferrero rocher brownie to finish off which was sumptuous.
All in all this is place has good food and is great value for money.
The restaurant is the best I've seen in the town!
Totally satisfied my craving for lotus stem and baby corn. Was a bit too much fried. Please make sure it's even best next time. Creamy Thai curry sauce and great dessert options to cope with. Have ordered the same item that I gotta try in restaurant no compromise in quantity or taste. A bowl could Serve two for a quick lunch.
Tried their crispy lotus stem, bed of roses goli soda and construct your own wok...
Veggies very fresh and yummy...
Lots of options to choose from....
Our take away order had veg dim sum, spicy tofu bao and create your own wok. Dim sum was the fav, bao was heavy with sauce not so great. Wok was good but disappointing, the noodle to veggie ratio was off. Too much noodles not enough veggies.
One of the very few pure veg pan asian restaurents serving some super delicious food where you can make your own wok right from your choice or rice or noodles! the starters crispy chilly potato was my favourite and tasted really good and Seasame chilly baby corn and crispy lotus stem are also a must try here !! dim sums were authentic and was full of flavours of the asian cusine . the beverages were also good could be sided with the wok. brownies are amazing !! Nutella and ferroro roacher Brownies were really tasty and doesnt make you stop with one !! 100% cost efficient place and a value for money place with decent quantity and good quality food is served . would definitely recommend the place
The noodle theory is a vegetarian friendly Asian cuisine restaurant (with jain options). The restaurant has branches spread across the city and I tried the one in T.Nagar. The quirky ambience and self service concept reminds me of my school/ college canteen.
The USP of The Noodle Theory is all about making your own wok where you get to choose from a variety of noodles (or rice), toppings and sauces for the main course.
They also have a wide variety of starters including dimsums and bao buns.
The drinks options include mocktails named after various scientists and goli soda. The mocktails are a bit too sugary for my taste. For dessert they have brownies, which melt in your mouth.
My Personal favourites are - crispy chilli potatoes, spring rolls, chilli paneer bao bun and choco chunk brownie.
Overall a good experience. The place is a good hangout spot for a bunch of friends.
The place is economical and does justice for the portion size.
Very Different Tatse . Every dish was up to the mark . The food was awesomeeeee
Personal favorite is Malakka Sauce, it's so spicy and tasty at the same time. Loved the Ferrero rocher brownie, but it was too hot to eat. Lotus stem disappointed me this time, it was so dark in color. Overall it was good.
Little disappointed with the chilli potato this time. Ferrero rocher brownie was too good.
Your crispy chilli potatoes are scrumptious. Hibachi sauce with any veggies just makes me want to eat more noodles. Fantastic wok everytime. Thank you so much 🍻😍
I was here for dinner and I liked the interiors. It looked raw and woody. Its a self service place with a reasonable pricing.
I had Dim sums, Lotus stem and cucumber & broccoli Bao buns for starters. All of these were brilliant and my fav is Lotus stem.In noodles I have tried Udan and wheat along with sauces-
Hibachi- not too spicy. Lemon Butter garlic- mild and lemony for non spicy lovers'Spicy peanut- crunchy and mild spicyBasil Mallaka rice- yummyKitkat brownie, Brookie for Desserts.
The food was beyond amazing. The quantity is enough for 2 with good appetite. The service is quick and again depends on the crowd. Everything was freshly cooked and was served hot. Gonna visit again and again ;)
P.s- I used the Easy diner offer.
#foodblogger #chennaifood #travelbreeze
Apart from the noodles they have very good starters.
The ambience is good and the staff are very helpful.
The order placing style is also cool and they let you have your meal the way you want it by customizing it
Visited this place on a Sunday evening with family. This place is tucked on top of Nuts and Spices in T Nagar and is damn spacious, unlike the kilpauk one.
We ordered two woks and two starters. Appreciate the fact that the staff noted our requests( Less spice) diligently and implemented in the food they served for us. Shoutout to them for that!
All the dishes served to us were decent and no complaints there.
I prefer this branch over than the Kilpauk one because of the ambience and better seating.
Worth a visit If you want to enjoy the Noodly theory experience peacefully and with attentive staff. Visiting again soon!
Whoever came with the make your wok concept needs special accolades here. Good Food. Friendly and helpful staff. Tasty preparation and most of all, relevant suggestions for those who are new.
We had Momos, Soba Noodles with Black Pepper sauce, Bao Buns and a couple of drinks. This was a tasty good experience! Be there and amuse yourself. I am sure there is one for every palate.
Ordered a build your own noodle for take away .
Ordered noodles with spicy peanut sauce along with few veggies and paneer .
The noodle was extremely tasty and the quantity was good and it was filling.
Overall a good start , need to visit the restaurant for a detailed review.
I love the food here and the consistent maintenance of flavors and the taste. And guess what it’s all freshly made ! Why not relish it then !! okay now Foodtalk...The mouth smacking starter of crunchy lotus stem make’s my day every time I have it . Should I even mention their Bao .. it’s made to perfection . I savor spicy food and enjoy the teriyaki or sukiyaki with udon or fresh noodles . When it comes to rice I think it’s a tough choice cause I love both basil and jasmine rice .The brownie here are a delight to my tastebuds and we literally fight for our share of bite every single time.
How can one forget their drinks .. one should try all and choose for one selves cause my favorite is a secret. I think do the sumptuous quantity the pricing is quite cheap/ optimal.
Staff: The restaurant staff are courteous and we’ll greet you beautifully and make you feel welcomed any time you step in .
Hygiene : extremely well maintained and neat.
Also JAIN food is also amazing here guys !!
A decent chinese restaurant. I wouldn't call it the most authentic chinese I've ever had but it was nearly there. The quantity they serve per dish is a good amount. A single starter could serve 4 people with good helpings per person. Ambience is good. Service is nice. They include service charge in their bill so it's up to you to add that extra tip.
A very different experience indeed. The orders have to be ticked on the menu and submitted to the server !
Had 'ticked' the crispy lotus stem, chilli paneer bao bun, and a customised noodle bowl.
Finished off the meal with ice teas and a goli soda !
A great hangout place for the college-goers.
A quick stop to treat your taste buds when you are hungry! Tried the classic crispy potato, Dimsum and a customized Wok Noodle. Everything was amazing.
Tasty food with nice ambience. A lot of options for customisation. Price is very reasonable for what we are offered!! Definitely recommended.
One of the best place i have ever been too. Enjoyed my food, the service was just amazing. The very first suggestion i give people is to visit here for the best food experience.
Make your own noodle restaurant.
The Noodle Theory is a self service make your own noodle restaurant.

Review
Food: All dishes are very tasty. The presentation of the food is nice. Soups, starters, noodles, dumplings are the best. They also serve the Indian Goli Soda.
Ambience: The restaurant is well decorated. Self service mode.
I visited the restaurant and they didn't disappoint me at all. The noodles was great and delicious. I tried Bao was for the first time and i definitely try again and didn't disappoint me at all. A place must try
Absolutely love this place! The last time I was here, I didn't get a chance to eat as I was just joining my friends in a hurry. So I made it a point to come here when I come to Chennai (I currently reside elsewhere).
And I have to say, I'm so happy to have gone there. The options and the choices are plenty. The food is delicious. Especially the crispy chilli potatoes are a must eat. I had the fresh noodles, with paneer, selection of veg, Kung Pao curry and crushed peanuts to top it off as garnish.
It's self service, we went when it wasn't too busy, so the food was super quick and fresh. It was amazing and I will definitely go back before I leave Chennai. If anyone doesn't like it here, I can only think that their selection was not suited to the palette. So make the right choice, ask questions if you're unsure what to have and you'll definitely enjoy it. Plus it is super value for money
The best thing about this place is you can choose the base noodles, veggies, toppings, garnishing. So i ordered fresh noodles with hibachi sauce, kozzmo paneer soda.the food was in time. The ambience was quite simple and neat with pretty decent settings. It is a self service kind of place.
Worth a try to experience to make your own noodles of your choice.☺
The noodle theory is more becoming our habit !!
The place is neatly done with good decor & lighting and if you are person who likes to customize your food then this is worth a try!!
The restaurant works on a self service pattern and so service is never a problem and the person in charge of receiving your order are the people running the show and they are very much available to help you customize your food !!
We have always had good experience and yummy food and so it's a highly recommended place !!!!
Cheers Noodle Theory
This is one of my 'often' visit restaurants. Amazing ambience and yum food!! They have a live kitchen and make their food with wok concept. The best part I liked about them was you get to customize and make your own noodle or rice!! This DIY concept is nice and different to experience. Impressed with their use of bio degradable and eco friendly containers!!
Been here couple of times and this restaurant is definitely getting on to my list of comfort food places!! Noodle lovers, this is the place for yu!!
Great place for a quick lunch/dinner. The idea of MYO-Noodles is great. The crunchy lotus stem is a dish I have been craving months after I had it, crunchy to the core and delightfully seasoned. Crispy potato is French fries seasoned so differently than from any other place. Crispy baby corn was as good as it can get. The nutty spring rolls was a tad disappointing. Moving onto the noodles, I have tried 5 sauces so far-
1. Hibachi - yumm, spicy, tangy and very very mildly sweet
2. Frangrant chilli oil- was a super duper hit with their beautifully cooked crunchy basil rice
3. Chilli hoisin- super hot I wouldn’t recommend
4. Sukiyaki - had it with their iron noodles and it was good however, the least favourite so far
5. Lemon butter garlic - brilliantly balanced the first time with fresh noodles, only garlicky and no lemony or buttery the second time with flat noodles.
As u enter the place, the fragrance of live cooking awakens your nerves..The ambience is nice and causal..Excellent flavours..Huge variety.. we became a fan of the crunchy lotus stem and the lemongrass lemonade...Visited the place thrice in a week...
Amazing place for woks, customize ur own noodles and have fun with your friends. Their service is pretty good and fast. Their taste is amazing. Would love to go there another time. Their starters r amazing. It's medium spiced restaurant
Strong Flavours, loaded with Veggies.. And the perfect portion sizes..
Big plus they serve Jain food!
Not exactly fine dining, it's self service.
I was truly happily surprised to know that this a pure vegetarian Asian restaurant. So I ordered a nice spicy schzewan fresh noodles with extra veggie. It was delighted with my running nose I thoroughly enjoyed. I was happy to see their presentation was good with near packaging and the nice bowl of noodle which is appropriate for a single person.
Food is delicious ! 😋😋😋 Option to choose ingredients is the best part. Quantity is also decent. We ordered lotus stem Bao, chilli tofu, wheat noodles with onions, capsicum, brocolli etc with Sambal sauce. All the items were tasty. Chilli tofu was a bit Spicy but good! Value for money. Very berry Ice tea was kind of ok. Lemon Goli soda was good.
Great location and ambience. Nice place to hang out. Pick your own combination is their concept.
Having enjoyed oriental cuisine in the States, I must say that I have been waiting for a restaurant like this one. Love the menu. Must appreciate their creativity with drink names which tastes good as well. Pricing is not bad. You can only go wrong if you pick combinations that don't go well together, so I suggest you check with the person at front about your pick. Some sauces at the lower end of spice level may end up being more spicy, so watch out.
Note to Management - Some veggies may tend to loose the flavor if left in water/vinegar for long time after its out of the airtight container. Like bamboo shoots and water chestnut. So some attention there may help improve flavor.
Overall, kudos to bring out this food and concept.
Miso tofu and water chestnuts - 187 INR
Verdict 👩⚖️ - Fresh and unique dimsums. The shell is made of spinach and tastes really soft, has a delightful crunch to it.

What : Noodle wok + Crunchy lotus stem starter
Where : @thenoodletheory
A place for all noodle lovers! Now opened in T Nagar as well 💕 You can construct your own wok with your preference of Veggies+Sauce+Protein+Noodle/Rice
PS : Personal recommendation is the Crunchy lotus stem starter and fresh Noodle in Hibachi sauce ✨
Opt for a refreshing drink to go with your noodle! (They’re names after scientists, after all it’s the Noodle"Theory")
Visited the outlet today and was very impressed with the ambience and food....Chinese and veg but delicious...had the choose your wok, baos and dumplings... yummy food...spicy but loved it...hope they keep it up...

Yes, this is one of the best places where you can get great Asian food. Brownies and cookies are so good and there is the luxury of "take me with you" cookie jars. Ambience is normal but the good food overcomes it. I expected something different with tea but it was all same, so not recommending tea. I don't know whether any jain scolded them but they made sure that they dont insecure within the society.
They added a separate column for jains which was also new to me. So overall experience is good and try adding chopsticks instead of regular forks which would have made it a complete experience.
Noodles with kung pao sauce and rice with black pepper sauce was amazing...
And we ordered khao suey soup as well which was NOT good at all...
If you are a Chinese cuisine lover.. Give this place a try!
Good in quantity for the price
Self service restaurant
Calm environment
Starters were quite good: crunchy lotus stem and chilly potato
Dimsum was little bland: cheese and mushroom
Main course: Flat noodles and noodles with veggies and mallaka sauce... The spiciest of their sauces
Dessert was fresh and hot: Ferrero Rocher brownie
Beverage was refreshing : madam curie and Abdul kalam -pink lemonade and lemonade
Definitely one of my favourite places to go for some quick Asian food!
The concept of DIY Noodles is different and experimenting around with it is real fun!
They have a real good choice of menu which includes Dim-Sums, Bao-Buns and other Starters!
The dishes that I recommend
> Crunchy Lotus Stem - one of the best Lotus Stem dishes I've ever had!
> Aromatic Paneer - pan fried paneer served with bread crumbs!
> Flat Noodles w/ Black Bean sauce garnished with spring onions and crushed peanuts! *mwaah*
> Chilli Paneer Bao-Bun - chilli paneer and veggies stuffed between sour bread!
> Schezwan Momos - balanced flavours; chilli sauce served was
> Wheat Noodles w/ Malakka sauce garnished with red chillies and crushed peanuts! Real spicy! Real good!
> Jasmine Rice w/ Kung Pao garnished with spring onions and burnt garlic!
> All the drinks on the menu are good to be paired with any of the noodles!
Hope you have as much as fun as I had!
Cheers,
Dhyan! 😁
P.S - Was too hungry to click photos of all dishes that I had!
The food is absolutely impeccable. I'd have loved a pair of chopsticks to really dig in. I had the Udon noodles with a tangy spicy black bean sauce. The ambience is simply perfect.
Ordered several times for lunch and they never failed to alter the quality. The Construct Your Own Wok is an economical meal for anytime of the day! We loved all our orders! The meal was filling despite being noodles and it tastes very good! Planning to dine-in!
Spicy Peanut Sauce & Spinach Noodles was unbeatable!
The concept of being able to make your own noodles caught my eye ever since this place opened and I must say I was not disappointed.
The place is easy to locate. It's right on the main road above nilgiris. It can accommodate about 35-40 people. It's a very quiet place if you visit on a weekday. They have only self service.
Food:
• Crispy chilli potato - Thin crunchy slices of potato in a tangy and spicy sauce. Tasted lovely. Quantity was great.
• Schezwan veg dumplings - The dumplings were cooked perfectly although I felt the Schezwan sauce could've been better.
•Chilli paneer bao bun - It was great! Paneer was perfect and it saucy. It looked like a soft taco!
•Noodles - It's a subway concept. Pick your base, your sauce, your garnishing and toppings. I picked the mallaka sauce because I love spicy food. I loved their noodles the best of all.
We also had Graham Bell and Madam curie to drink. It went well with my food. Overall, I loved the place and the concept and their food is amazing. Looking forward to trying more of their food.
Oh, and they don't use plastic. So yay! :D
Cost for two: ₹700+
A very good place to hangout with friends who are noodle lovers ♥️ this place is where you have your own choice of. Choosing the type of noodle, protein, veggies, sauce, toppings! The two noodles we ordered were amazing! Next the basil rice it was somewhere between good and excellent . The chill paneer baobun was star in the entire meal it tasted ultimately good. Over all it is a excellent place for tasty food with a nominal pricing ♥️
One among the best Chinese restaurants! And the best part, it is pure veg! Delicious food! Quantity is pretty amazing too! Potato fries is a must try! Based typically on scientific names! Einstein and Newton (drinks) are really good too! We can choose everything! Right from the base till the toppings thus giving a sense of personal touch! Ambiance 💯 Excellent place!
This place was easy to find as it is just above the Nilgiris supermarket. About the ambience, they have these high chair seating which is pretty cool. Having lunch while looking over the GN Chetty road was actually nice. It was a bit crowded when I went which is a good sign. It is a self service kinda restaurant but the wait time was a bit longer than expected.
Ok now, about the food... it was good but not great.
--Khao suey soup is Soupy noodles which was pretty tasty.
--Tofu in Pepper overdose was so spicy and damn yummy. My favourite.
--Cheese and Mushrooms dimsums, this dish is the only one I did not like. It had very little stuffing and taste wise too, it wasn't good.
--We had goli soda which was just like every other place.
--Candies (coconut and choco crunch) Coconut is like my favourite flavour so I loved it.
Overall, a nice place to hangout with friends or family with good food😊
I had ordered food for delivery. The packaging was very nice and the food was hot. The make your wok is a very nice concept and you can customize the noodle accordance to your taste and preference. The kung pao sauce and flat noodles was yummy and sambhal sauce was good. Was disappointed with aromatic paneer though, it dint have much taste and was raw.
Excellent food. Delivered to door step. The food was everything I ordered for. Tried the spiciest one after choosing the customisable noodle option.
Great place to have variety of noodles and rice. I tried flat noodles with Japanese wine sauce which was marvellous and too much satisfying. Paneer pepper overdose was something exceptional a must try starter. But the beverage C V Raman was not that good comparatively but was decent. I had Ferrero Rocher brownie which was too amazing but was kinda pricy as compared with other food items. And the Ambience was decent and calm with good service.
The ambience was calm..and the concept of DIY noodles was great! Noodles was tasting great and the drink we ordered were Einstein and Newton but felt both tasted almost the same. The price was affordable and one good place found to hang out with your loved ones!
Have visited this place in kilpauk and T. Nagar the food here is quiet spectacular, tried their Mushroom sauce with Soba noodles with vegetables, it was really good, superb, tried their chilly paneer Bao and Lotus stem Bao it was so great, the chilly paneer and Lotus stem was crunchy and crispy, tried their Lotus stem starters it was great, must try the spring rolls with sauce, the rolls where crunchy and crispy, the sauce was accompanied well with their rolls and tried their cheese and mushroom dumplings/momos it was great and tried their jasmine rice with Red Thai curry that was rocking, must try this specific dish with Chinese cabbage, Bokchoy, Broccoli, Red and Yellow Peppers and Mushroom it was tasty, great, superb, tried their Brownies like Ferrero Rocher, 5 star and kit kat it was good.
The price is little costly in terms of quantity, the quantity is less, the price is expensive, if more quantity is provided, it will be great but the quality is nice.
The flavours are like Asian Pacific and south East Asian dishes with Indian twists on few dishes, and this place is vegetarian which is also really great with various versatile and customised options 🍅🥕🌶️🥒🥦🍄🥜🌰🧀🍜🥟🥢🇨🇳🇯🇵🇰🇷🇭🇰🇲🇴🇹🇼🇲🇾🇹🇭🇵🇭🇸🇬.
Soup puts the heart at ease.
In picture:- Khao seuy from @thenoodletheory.tnagar .
First of all I'm really impressed with the eco friendly plates and bowls these guys use. It's actually heart warming to see such usage cause it's the need of the hour.
The soup was appetising and was served neither too hot nor too cold. It was served in the right temperature.
Had a pan Asian taste with coconut dominating the flavour of the soup.
I personally loved it cause I love Asian food as such.
With the noodles at the bottom it was smartly paired to say the least.
Garnished with sesame seeds and spring onion it was really delightful.
Price:- ₹169.
In picture:- Crunchy lotus stem from @thenoodletheory .
The dish was served within 5 minutes and did justice to its name.
Wasn't too hot but the taste was really exquisite.
It leaves you wanting for more by the time you take your last bite with the beauty being it was fried to perfection.
Wasn't over cooked or under cooked by one bit.
Located in T.NAGAR the ambience was calm and beautiful.
It's really a place to go if you're bored of the usual restaurants.
Few things that I found to be a bit disappointing are unavailability of water bottles, lack of table service and I had to ask thrice for salt n pepper which usually is kept on the table. The best part of this place is they use eco friendly plates and spoons.
Nevertheless it was worth the money paid.
Try them and let me know 😎
Best thing about this place is you can make your own noodles/rice, you get to choose 6-7 odd veggies and pick from a variety of sauces. If you are looking to have some healthy and tasty noodles this is the place for you. The quantity is more than lavish. Any one can have a great
sumptuous meal just within 300 bucks.
Best pan asian veg restaurant.
Must try
1. Khaosuey soup
2.bao buns
3. Mallaka with fresh noodles
4. Madam Curie
5. Cookie and cream must try
The name of the restaurant and the dishes was fancy. The place was small but lstill looked big enough for the restaurant. Overall a good restaurant to try out the Chinese cuisine.
We ordered Momos and Fries for the starters. Then some noodles and rice for the nain course. And of course, the juices names after scientists😀. The quality of food was good. It was a bit spicy but nevertheless well prepared.
Coming to service, it's self-service. Good in a way since the food arrives faster. Overall a good restaurant with decent options.
PS: There is no dedicated parking. You would need to park nearby and walk. This place is situated bang on the GN Chetty road underneath the flyover. Bit difficult to locate though.
Located under the GN Chetty Road flyover, The Noodle Theory sports a vibrant and well lit ambience. The cooking area is live and for everyone to see.
Our Orders :-
👉 Drinks - we got Einstein and Marie curie. Whilst Marie curie was a pink lemonade, Einstein turned out to be a berry flavored drink. Compact bottles measuring 300 ml.
👉 Szechuan Dimsums - 6 piece order with two dips. The Momos were served very hot and their taste was top notch.
👉 Woks - we got two custom woks. Szcheuan sauce was spicy and the kung pal sauce turned out to be sweet. Maybe a better selection of veggies from our side and the Woks could have been better.
Overall, the noodle theory is definitely a place everyone must visit. Will go back once more to try the Baos.
Thank you, team Noodle Theory.
4.3/5
I loved the taste and concept of Noodle Theory. Quick service and delish noodles. Tried a couple of starters as well. Tasted really nice but the portion size was so small. Probably won't order them again. Will definitely go back to try the endless possibilities of noodle dishes!
Creative menu..interiors, beetle leaf plates. moderate pricing..peaceful nice interiors. Good place to have food with family and friends. In picture: lotus stem starter
A highly recommended place which offers very friendly service. This place has a subtle yet creative ambience and the food is brilliant. Dumplings and baos are exquisitely delicious.
Was really good and worth the price
Awesome place... amazing taste...loved the soup... starters...noodles with good variety of sauces and veges...paneer soda was too good...keep up the standards...
Been here twice already.
This place opened sometime back, but there was hardly anyone inside whenever I passed by the place.
Decided to eat there anyway with a friend.
Their concept is very simple for the mains. Similar to that of Subway.
Choose a base, vegetables, sauce and garnishing. And your noodles are cooked and served to you in a matter of few minutes.
They don't use plastic plates. So that's a definite Yay! If they could do away with the plastic Sporks it would be amazing.
Second time around went for their crunchy lotus stem.
It was mind-blowingly good. So good that I stopped eating my main salad and went back to it only after I finished the lotus stem.
Each drink on their menu has an interesting name to it and tastes good too. A tad expensive. Just a wee bit.
Portion sizes are good. Well maybe the salad could have had a slightly higher quantity of vegetables? Nevertheless I'm not going to complain.
Overall experience comes to about Rs 700 for 2 people.
Very decent restaurant, with quality food, comes in a reasonable price! What else do you want!
Whenever cravings for Chinese, this is the place to go.
We ordered crispy Lotus Stem which just made the evening. Crispy as it as and hot and very yum. And Kung Pao noodles you get choose your noodle veggies and sauce and I chose all the right ones because mine was just very yum. And for drinks we ordered Edison and Newton and a goli soda. Loved Newton drink. For dessert we ordered kit kat brownie,I do like brownies but this was just the usual nothing special. Kinda hard but was hot though so was good.
Request to restaurant to give away with ice cream or something with the brownies.
Rest all was really good.
Had a good evening.
Second time to this place I ordered the same starter (lotus stem) and dessert (Ferraro rocher brownie) but for main i tried black bean sauce flat noodles with selected veggies. And it was perfect. Perfect hot and spiciness.
Being a fan of the Asian cuisine, I had high hopes on The noodle theory and I must say, I was not disappointed. Located on the first floor, right opposite ABs, the place is well lit with quirky lighting that stays true to the Asian theme. It's a self-service restaurant with various seating options ranging from regular tables and chairs to bar stools and high tables. It might get crowded on a weekend and booking a table in advance is recommended.
The staff, although jovial and welcoming, were inexperienced and couldn't handle the continuous steam of orders pouring in. The billing counter looked like a mess and you have to wait a couple of minutes to give your order but, this can be excused as this branch is fairly new.
Coming to the food, it's mostly on the spicy side of the scale but delicious nonetheless. The aromatic paneer had a mouth-watering crunchy topping but could have been easy on the spice. The miso tofu dumplings is one of their signature dishes which tasted good. Chilly paneer bao was again, brilliant; soft chewy bao buns filled with a spicy paneer curry. The DIY noodle/rice bar is a clever idea as it lets you pick your base, filling, sauce and toppings and the possibilities are endless!
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at The noodle theory and will certainly visit again. It's one of the very few places that offers terrific food at a great bargain. (:
Amazing for all vegetarians who have a taste for chinese
Happy to see famous Scientists from different countries in one place. Soup is thick, hot and nice. Quick and Happy service. Waiting to enjoy the main course. Sure to come back or order again soon. Just 20 days old and already seems to be busy. All the best to the Team running the place.
Must visit, amazing food and cool ambience, courteous people, quick service, good presentation of food, perfect location and good handout place
Bigger than the Kilpauk outlet. Decent ambience. Tried the classic malakka sauce soft noodles. Spicy and delicious. Tried the new kung pao sauce noodles. It had a Chinese flavour and was delicious. The berry tea was decent and the pink lemonade was very refreshing. Pricing is decent.
Ambience is so good.
A different menu. Yummy food. A must try place with your friends
Lotus stem bao is a must try 😍 definitely gonna visit it again
Visited the place for the first time and throughly enjoyed it
Boa is a must try and the Noodles is absolutely delicious 💯💯
The ambience is great as well
Do try the Brownies as wellll ✨
Overall an amazing experience ✨
Jus wow. Must must must visit . Delicious food . Worth it. A different menu. Crunchy Lotus stem and chilly panner is something which you must not have tasted anywhere. Lovely presentation
A brilliant take on vegetarian Chinese food !! I thought the menu was very well done questioning your taste preferences before you order so they could tweak each individual dish to your palate !! This was a brilliant innovation straight out of molecular gastronomy!! A simple way to taste perfection for a take away price is noodle theory !! I do look forward to going back again
Not a big fan of veg food , but this is just Amazing! The food is just yummy, delicious, juicy and has authentic flavours of India. Your tastebuds can really not resist the food. Amazing concept of various flavours of ice-teas with natural herbs and lemon grass. The die for is the bow buns, we tried the lotus stem and paneer ones both are just too good.
This place amazing. It's bigger than the killpauk one. The food is just as tasty and yummy as the one in killpauk. The ambiance and atmosphere is so different.
1. Lots of varieties of noodles and toppings.
2. Pure Veg.
3. Customised ordering.
4. Nice taste.
5. Quantity is good.
A cozy hangout spot which offers Jain options! We tried 'Construct your own wok' option for noodle(chose Hibachi sauce and preferred toppings), Assorted dimsum(classic veg, Tibetan basil, Schezwan water chestnut etc), Green salad bao, Hawking (a yummy chocolate drink) and Ferrero brownie which was quite okay.
Besides the ambience was super cool and food tasted really yummy!
From last night this this place has been added toy favourite spot every thing in menu card is worth buying i tried many dishes every thing was delicious their customer service was also good
Most importantly this is a budget friendly place
Must try

The quantity and quality is very good
They've the best one bowl meals
Anything Asian a to go place will be the noodle theory
A must try for exploring new tastes and textures which will for sure hit right at the spot in your mouth
All the dishes are an explosion of tastes......
Awesome
Full on chinese mode for the day!! Would definitely vouch for their noodles any day since it is one of the few places in Chennai which serves good customized oriental noodles (Veg-only spot).
Spicy wonton soup - Holy good starter to begin the meal with!! Very spicy & aromatic with good wonton filling
Chilli paneer bao bun - Fluffy bao buns with crunchy nuts but there was a sour taste (the sauce?) and smell from it; the paneer could have been better
Crispy chilli potato - Crunchy potato tossed in mild sauce and topped with cilantro; was definitely filling, OK
Crispy sesame baby corn - Similar to the potato with well cooked baby corn; the color and the consistency of the veggies were good
Chilli rice with Mallaka sauce - Spicy rice with tofu & a side of their hot sauce; though it was predominantly on the Umami side, this went dry quick, Heavy
Jasmine rice with thai green curry - Fragrant rice mixed with sweet & thick green curry; though ain't the best green curry, this was OK
Flat noodles with schezwan sauce - Spicy flat noodles topped with red chillies; mix it well and slurp it all along, so smooth
Fresh noodles with Spicy black bean sauce - A unique taste from the black beans; felt schezwan was more spicy than the black bean sauce
For the drinks it was the bubbly Goli soda: Lemon tree lemon, Purple haze grape, Pink panther (Strawberry) and Green river (Apple).
Pretty OK parking space right opposite under the bridge. The service was quick with good seating space. The setup is standard across all their stores while their prices are nominal.
Easy way to explain it? It's the subway of Asian restaurant. You get to pick and choose, experiment with your own choices of sauces, veggies, noodles or rice. I tried their salad option during this delivery but I'm still a great fan of their noodle or rice menus. Salads might need some help.
Loved their sushi 🍣 was craving all week and this way so simple yet so flavoured and nice
Soup was definitely a refreshing choice for this rainy season!
Dine-in is a lovely experience but delivery was equally good. Has become my go to place whenever I crave to have asian food!
I'm from the United States and every time I come to Chennai I HAVE to come to Noodle Theory. It is better than most noodle places in US that I've been to, and has maintained quality through the pandemic while increasing their menu to include other options (sushi, dim sum, etc). I wish they could expand to US too, but in the meantime I'll continue to look forward to coming here on every India trip.
Pro tip: if
Me and girlfriend went here. The ambience was simple and good. It's a small comfy place and thankfully it wasn't crowded so we could breathe and eat peacefully. We ate a lot of stuff 😁

Great taste!! Completely vegetarian. We are allowed to select vegetables and sauces from a decent varieties. Brownie was hot and tasty. We had a noodles and rice and both were good. We chose spicy sauce. Mild sauce could be selected.
A nice cozy place for affordable and tasty asian food but the service time needs improvement. Had to wait a long time for orders to get ready and saw other customers feeling agitated about the same too. Overall, would go again for the food though.
A novel idea with a well-made up name. A small restaurant but serves good spaghetti, burrito and other Mexican and Italian dishes. The sushi also tasted good. However it is a vegetarian hotel.
We just checked out on this place at T Nagar based on Google reviews, and trust me - this is one best place to hangout in the city !!! The dumplings were mind-blowing... The starters were the best.. The customizable Wok had won our hearts & the beverages were so cool ! We loved each and every bit of our food.. The menu is quite affordable & has a lot of varieties... The ambience is perfect.. Wouldn't miss a chance to dine here again !

Very tasty and quality food. Must try.
Worth visiting. We tried 3 different types of noodles, panneer in pepper overdose, spring rolls. Panneer in pepper overdose was spicy and yummy. Abdul Kalam Lemonade was okay. Roses in bed goli soda was good. Overall a good experience. Due to some maintenance work on the road, we didn't get parking in front of the shop. We had to search for a parking space for more time before parking in Valmiki street.
Great place! From the way the take the order ( you gotta full in an order form, it fun) and then to the way it made and presented! Amazing! It only serves veg but some very good veg! The prices are also not too much and is quite affordable!
A must try for foodies! It also has a cozy ambience!
Ordered the spicy paneer Bao, the veggie Bao, veggie wrap, and to drink: Lemongrass & Pink Lemonade.
Food: Really well made, and very tasty.
Drinks: absolutely recommend.
Other points: place is nice and simple, industrial designs everywhere. Staff was very friendly and looked like they enjoy what they do.
If you are in the area, definitely give this place a visit.
