It's about yesterday's lunch scene at Sai Datta Andhra Mess, Kodambakkam..
It was a pure bliss with acham mana Andhra ruchulu (real taste of andhra) serving unlimited meals with
Podi Annam (bengal gram dal), Pappu (dhal), Chaaru (rasam), Sambar,
Majjiga (buttermilk), Perugu (yogurt) along with any one variety of pakoda, papad and poriyal for just Rs.80/- only..
It was a 20 years old Andhra Mess and this place is familiar for their taste, fresh ghee serving along with meals and pocket friendly food varieties.. Here the key ingredient is that Podi (bengal gram dal) and you can also get it from there for Rs.20/-. A must recommended place to have unlimited meals with pocket friendly budget.
Pretty standard Andhra mess that is there in the heart of west mambalam. Could do with more cleanliness. Otherwise food is good. For about INR 70, unlimited andhra meal is a joy. One of those good andhra messes within the city.

This hotel is always crowded at the lunch time, if you go at peak time you have to wait. We friends went there for lunch. First have to pay and get the bill. Ordered meals it was 65₹, fish fry was 60₹, you can get a cup of chicken curry for 15₹ you can find chicken pieces in it. The meal is unlimited so you can ask for the rice. In the leaf first they serve with some fry which is so tasty, poriyal with pappad and then thick pappu which is soo good, in the table they have podi for that some gingelly oil with normal taste and chutney which is spicy. Then paruppu sambar not so tasty, rasam and moor kolambu which is good. You can ask rice how much ever you want they serve with smile on their face. You can't go for sambar rasam and moor kolambu as eating pappu, podi and chutney will fill your tummy. They give a cup of curd, if you don't eat with the rice you can ask for the sugar which can be mixed with curd and eaten. This hotel has great authentic andhra mess. Overall the food was so good and i started to go there frequently. Ps: Buy a bottle of water as the water given by them is not good.
Really the food is value for the money.
It's a decent Andhra style meals restaurant which exists for many years in this area.
Quality and quantity as always remarkable in any Andhra meals and you won't be miss it here as well.
They serve biriyani, meals and chicken starters as well.
Fast delivery and service is the plus here but the ventilation wise it's bit tough and Quality can be improved.
Sai Datta Andhra Mess located at Kodambakkam is specialised in meals and non vegetarian sides and been operating for over 30 years.
They are serving meals with two sambhar varieties, rasam, veg fry sides, appalam and lastly, I got the chicken 65 separately which had good quantity of pieces.
For 80rs the meals was good, and I'm yet to try out their other non veg varieties. Swipe right for more images and location.
One of the best andhra mess in town . They serve food without any inhibitions.. would have been there more than 100 times, never disappoints their food and service..
Nice place to have meals in nominal price... The owner is very kind to his workers... He lets his workers eat first during lunch and then asks them to work... Tat mind is god... Thank you for the wonderfull service....
This place is particularly good for double meals. Because we get the two meals for just 130rs at double meals. If you guys are going in pairs then go ahead for double meals. Otherwise 90 rs for single meals
Good food, authentic Andhra cuisine and very affordable, I've been a regular at this place since 1998, they just serve food with love......never never ever commercial. Good food and great hospitality, very rare in today's world, but Kudos to the owners who have maintained the ethics of a food place

Tasty & good food at cheaper price tag, traditional atmosphere, low cost at it's price comparing to other hotels, u can get lunch meal till 5 pm...

Authentic andhra type non veg meals. Very reasonably priced. Worth every penny. Chicken fry and masala are very good. Best option for lunch.
