On new year's Eve I had to order gravy urgently and I was able to do that with vasanta Bhavan. Coupled with zomato's fantastic fast delivery, we were able to enjoy the gravy. The peas masala was very nice.

Good Place for vegetarian Breakfast with affordable price. Tasty and variety in breakfast menu.. I must say about their TEA and COFFEE.. I have breakfast combo which is around 100 rupees.. Worth with all the main Breakfast dishes..
Amazing little place with really tasty dishes. Staff were very polite and friendly. A must go if you want to eat south Indian food at affordable prices.
This is a place I can't forget about Chennai as I m forced to have food here every alternative days.No pure veg restaurants within its walking distance..you will never find it empty ..all staffs knows me by now..
Simple food for healthy living
Affordable food at affordable rates. It won't burn a hole in your pocket. It's a fast moving place so whatever you order will reach your table within five mins. Chat and dessert like mithais both are available.

You can fill your tummy in affordable price.
Orders: chola poori, fried rice, mini sambar idly, kuzhi paniyaram.
Among all, kara kuzhi paniyaram stands at the top of the list.. A must try dish in this place.
Chola poori was crunchy, not soft and fried rice tasted to be good.
Mini sambar idly- idlies were really hard to eat. It's better to provide steel spoon instead of plastic spoon as it was not comfortable to use for the hardened idlies.
All our orders will get served within minutes.
Went there for lunch today ordered Gibi 65 for starters and it was good. Then ordered Basic meals, varities of Kulcha, Kadai Mushroom and Schezwan Fried Rice. All the item's taste were good.😉👍✌.Patience is must because items to take 15 to 20 mins to reach your table
There is something about this place which makes you wanna go there for quick eats. Of course having lunch over there, both South Indian and their Chinese Thali's are good. Service is good and prompt. Quick eats like dosa or idly is at the ground floor whereas for lunch, we head to the air-conditioned room on the first floor.
Ambience on the first floor is more business-like and a bit dim. Food however is good and I especially like their Chinese thali. Would definitely recommend.
It's been a favourite place for me and my family for a very long time and the service we get over there is outstanding. Some of the best Dosa's, Pongal or thali's we have had, has been here, in this branch. I don't know what it is, perhaps familiarity? it's just that we feel welcomed every time we visit. Ambience at the ground floor is all just tables and seats, but the first floor during lunch and dinner offers a nice ambience with proper air conditioning and a large table in case you have a large group. Their Chinese veg thali too is great.
Been here many times, Foods is hmm somewhat okay-ish doesn't taste great but it gets the job done fills you pretty quickly. But the real challenge is finding an Empty table during lunch time otherwise it's quite easy to find a table, They charge quite a lot for what they serve but meh many people goes there so might be normal rate. =)
An affordable vegetarian restaurant on the busy 3rd avenue in Annanagar. Has both AC and non AC facilities with road side parking for cars. Parking shouldn't be a problem as they have attendants. We had vegetable soup, Panneer masala dosa, Sambar idli, Poori potato masala, naan, kulcha, paneer butter masala, veg noodles and veg fried rice. Every item tasted good except the sambar idli. They don't have any of the milk shakes in their menu except for fresh fruit juices. Panneer butter masala is worth a try as the quantity is big with succulent pieces of cottage cheese.
Yes one of the busiest place in annanagar, been her many times, but over the years they lost the charm. Something is missing here. Same old regular chapathi, parattas, idly and dosa.....etc wanted some change here and Looking for it soon.

One of the famous outlet in Anna Nagar, located just a stone throw distance from roundtana. Visited this place for a Saturday Dinner, ordered Onion Rava Dosai and Parota. The Onion Rava was served with Sambar and three varieties of Chutneys. The taste of the Dosa, Sambar and Chutney are decent. Parota was so soft served with two cups of Kuruma and a cup of onion Raitha. The Veg Kuruma tasted good but the onion Raita was sour. They charge Rs.62/- for Onion Rava and Rs.51/- for Parota.

One of the best Vegetarian Restaurants in Chennai , the Thali meals offered here is really good with assorted curries .
A bit crowded during lunch , but service is very prompt .
The only thing that disappoints me is when compared to other veg restaurants in the city, dining area isn’t that neat and clean.
Best place for vegie lovers
U will get all typical south indian dishes
Sambar idly is best here
I recommend u guys to try mushroom masala dosa here.

Especially lunch .... Is the best !!!! After hotel maris .... I feel anna nagar vasanta bhavan is the best in taste and food quality !!!!!!
This is one of those long-lasting vegetarian restaurants that has managed to keep pace with the changes yet maintaining its old world charm. The vegetarian meal at Vasanta Bhavan is one of the must haves for anyone lives in Anna Nagar. I can say that almost every inhabitant of Anna nagar must have come here atleast once during their stay here. The servers here still have time for a banter or two with the customers at the same time doing efficiently well with what they do. Cost wise it is cheaper than most of the other swankier vegetarian restaurants of the locality yet tastier than them.
If u want breakfast and hot coffee early in the morning , visit it neighborhood restaruent Vasanta Bhavan
I had been to this place several time with family and it's value for money. Ambience has to improve

This place has a classic vibe, the crowd and the ambience communicate, whatever you will order, will be great. We ordered onion rawa dosa, masala dosa, idlies, sambar vada, and tea. Everything was good. Must try place for authentic south Indian taste.
Once was a good place to have food with family.nowadays it feels so unclean and service is a big letdown.Decent interiors and but pricy though for its quality here.Coming to quantity it never fills half of your cravings.
good hotel for a multicuisine eat out. slightly overpriced according to me for the ambience provided there. everything else is okayish over there.
Food was tasty. Ordered idly, dosa, pongal and idiyappam for 4 ppl and it cost 285 only. Happened to notice a cockroach scale a wall just across my table and complained to manager immediately. He told he will make sure it is not repeated. I told I will never come back if it happens again. Have been living in this area for the past 25 years and this restaurant has been one of the very good option for veg food.
Its a decent place for a traditional south Indian lunch , its busy most of the time and getting parking space around this outlet is a miracle. The food is decent and the price is is quiet pocket friendly . Its been around for years and it used to be a regular pit stop for my family a couple of years back but now that there are so many new restos popping up in chennai , we have moved on but we still pop in here once in every few months
good food , kaarakulambu and rasam is good here i love their coconut chutney and dosai is great and aapam with veg gravy is greate taste i think they use cashew paste in the aapam's gravy , . it s a good restaurant for a family
Been here several times, mostly lunch, with family & friends.
Food is simply superb, better than many other veg outlets in the city. Ambience on the first floor is nice & calm enough to spend time as a couple.
Best place for quality food and value for money.
If u need tasty food in your budget then its a good place to be in !! Lovely south Indian cuisines with nice ambience ..
Love the way they have meals varieties like chennai SPL , Andhra SPL , Punjab SPL .. Soo on !!!
have less money in your pocket and wanna grab some good south indian food.. step into this place.. its pocket friendly n serves tasty food.. from mini tiffins idly dosas to the filter coffee.. its really good.. n can never get tired of eating there!!
This has become our family restaurant. We used to go visit this place every Sunday for breakfast.
I def have to talk about the staff members. They are soo friendly and whenever we go to this hotel we are treated like VIP's which is very nice since it makes us special.
Both A/C and non A/C available. But I would recommend non A/c for breakfast...
This is the only place where you get ample amount of chutney and sambar. Trust me, lots and lots of sambar and chutney and it will be served with big smile.
Food is good, their idly is soft, big vadas, crispy dosas and my favourite uthapam.. Yum yum..
They offer good filter coffee.
Overall a good place for food with less money.
Give this place a try and maybe this hotel may also become your favourite one and may start visiting each Sunday as I do ;)
Keep up the good work guys.
best place to have south indian breakfast in anna nagar. their idlies are soft and served hot every time.the three chutneys they serve are very good.their sambhar is really good , has bag of flavour.vadas are pretty big and are really nice to eat evenwithout chutney or sambhar.according to me their pongal and ghee roast is amongst the best i had. i come to this place only for pongal and ghee roast.as usual filter coffee is good in every south indian joint. they have value for money meals which are very filling.overall- a very good place for south indian cuisine.
Visit Vasantha Bhavan for the world's best Ven Pongal and the most fantastic idly/Sambhar and Ghee Roast you can get this side of the planet. The Anna Nagar outlet stands out comfortably and can take several Saravana Bhavans down in one go. Almost all South Indian tiffen items are uniformly good and the filter coffee is great to wash them down. A word of advice: don't try the North Indian offerings.
Well the caption says it all! This is the yummiest south indian vegetarian one can ever dream of! The endless thali is loaded with such wonderful variety of veg curries, rasam, sambar, soup, sweet dishes that there is not one dish that tastes ordinary or average. The soft chapatis that one starts with followed by variety rice - do yourself a favour and specially ask for Tamarind Rice(Puliyodarai) as it is their BEST variety rice! My all time favourite!!!
What are you waiting for?? Go and have a great lunch/dinner with near and dear ones!!
Good taste............ online menu needs update by zomato.....
I like this place more than Saravana Bhavan. The Pongal is the best in the business. All other South Indian tiffen items are absolutely awesome. Just forget their North Indian stuff. And don't bother with items such as fried rice. You're never going order them again, for sure. Know what to eat and step out satisfied!
Nice and best service..... Taste also good........................
One of the very good options for visitors to chennai.Since tgey have variety of things to offer on their menu.
But during my frequent visits i have realised that they its better to opt for south indian cuisine rather than others , like south indian special meal thali and dosa etc.
prices are very decent ,service is good.

taste very well ... south indian sambar and rasam all are very well.....
i love it..
keep it up....
wow... this experience a couple of years ago was the most authentic south Indian food experience... almost assembly line precision of the serving staff.. began with a quick banana layout, followed by the splash of water which's to help you clean your platter to be.. then the fun begins, all the fresh ground chuttnis, amazing main course, and if your' lucky a chat with the supervisors, who will explain to you the authentic south indian interiors and tiffin style eating joint philosphy.. with the carefully laid out flower and traditional arrangements this place is one of the best in class !!!
