For quality food and dining in peace. Good ambience. Liked a lot
Tasty!! Really, What else do u need from a restaurant?
Nice food friendly service
Ovrall good
Adyar Treat or just - Treat as we know it is a hidden GEM that has been my friends and family's favorite place for more than 20 years now. The quality of their food and the value for money has been the main reason why they are our favorite. Apart from it they have a very friendly atmosphere Mr. Vijay who has been with them for years together makes you feel very comfortable and warm. Some of our favourites here are, paneer bhurji, baby corn masala, cashew masala, stuffed capsicum, paneer tikka masala, aloo paratha, veg biriyani, paneer tikka, spring roll, gobi65 best part about the place is they are ready to customize your food as per your needs. It is a must visit place atleast once which will make you fall in love with them.
Known this place for 20 years and all along they have maintained their quality and taste and value for money pricing. Excellent food and consistent quality. The gobi Manchurian and Paneer do Piaz are some of their best dishes!!
Ambience was good with peaceful environment. I went with my relatives and it was a great experience as we had ample of time to speak . Dishes were okayish and wish the delivery would have been quicker. Overall , the restaurant is a good choice if you want to have your meal in a calm environment.
This restaurant is like a tiny time capsule that takes you back to the 90s! It's situated behind the bus stop near Malar hospital (known as Fortis now, of course), a little hidden away. The ambience is nothing to write home about - some normal tables, a TV in one end and the owner sitting at one end. Add one grouchy looking but actually amiable waiter and it's like you are back in the Sangeetha's of yesteryear!
The food is always pretty good too. We'd ordered the tomato soup, veg sheekh kebab, veg biryani, butter roti and gobi peshawari. The soup was very Knorr reminiscent and I love Knorr soup and hence this too:) The kebab came with a mint chutney that was amazing and this was one of the first times a veg kebab tasted so good on its own! The biryani was good and the peshawari an interesting try - tasted good but nothing to write home about.
We've ordered several times from this place before and the food has always been consistently good. There were also a lot of delivery personnel traffic as we ate, perhaps cementing the fact that this is more of an order-in place. Go if you don't care about the ambience much. Any which though, the food is good and isn't that what really matters?:)
First time tried with this restaurant this is really great. Especially North Indian thali superb👍 thanks for the treat.
Jeera pulao was worst, please have little care next time, rest of the things were good
Chapathis and phulkas should be softer. Butter phulka is too costly over normal phulka, which is not easy to justify. Curries and sambar rice combo are good here.
will place further orders
food was hot and tasted great except pudhina paratha which was burnt underneath
Food was absolutely amazing. The quantity and the taste was on point
Good food can avoid food colours
food is tasty and value for money delivery was on time
Treat restaurant is always great

Hot vegetarian north indian food.. almost home made.. prices are low, good portion size... good service, friendly staff.. Not much in terms of variety..starters and south indian can be given a miss. Doesnt serve desserts. :(
As the name indicates,it was definitely a treat :) Went there for dinner and their service, the taste of food everything was extra ordinary..The time they took to serve our order was also reasonable..A definitely must visit place for all vegetarian lovers!!
Ordered North Indian thali through swiggy it consists of soup, papad, starter, pulav, dhal, paneer butter masala ,payasam, curd rice and Ice cream all the dishes were good VFM packed well
Awesome... Worth the bucks. Trust me if you are looking for a restaurant that has meaningful pricing then this is it. Food is superb. Place is small but still good. Home delivery is available through swiggy. Sometimes it may take time to serve your order when there are many customers but still the food will be good. Cheers ;)

We have been here for a lunch after visiting a doctor in Malar Hospital. We were hungry and had very nice lunch. Ordered Tomato soup, Gobi manchurian, Roti, Phulka, Panneer Do Pyaza. Food was like home made not much creamy. I liked that part. Place is very neat. Staff is very much polite. Only one negative, Phulka was not that soft. Price was very much reasonable. For all these we paid 580 (including GST).
Would love to go there or order from the restaurant again.
Nice homely place. The quality of food is good. The place is a good one for frequenting if you are interested in a calm dinner giving you great value for every single penny spent.
Offers great food at very reasonable price. While month end when you try to make ends meets with budget, you can have a nice dinner with you family. Added restaurant to my wish list.
you cannot miss this place the food here is amazing especially the north indian subjis and the soft butter naan. I live in t nagar I went there once and if I feel like eating vegetarian outside there is no other choice than Treat in adyar.
It's the best place for a quick lunch . I work nearby and it's very convenient for me to drop by for lunch. Been there couple of times for dinner the North Indian dishes are delicious especially the paneer butter Masala and chilly paneer.
Total value for money :)
The place is good and a value for money, Their food is awesome , this place has been there for almost more than a decade , The north Indian dishes are exceptional and i love the vegetable soups specially, The ambience is pretty good and the rates are very reasonable compared to good veg restaurants . the place is very easy to locate it's right next to the bus stand and there is no hassle of parking, They also deliver around adyar which is awesome, i would compare this restaurant a best in it's class for the quality that they maintain. The also have chats available in the evenings . Which would make me go there multiple number of times.
Very good quantity and quality . Very kind service ! When you are near Adyar or Besant Nagar , this is the must visit place for vegetarians.
Dishes to try: North Indian meals , paneer butter masala and malai kofta!
This restaurant has made my sunday brunch menu! Totally value for money place for the north indian dishes they serve here. Ordered gobi peshawari, roti and paneer pulao. Found it really yummy really good taste. The place is easy to locate on the service road. Ambience is just fine. Looks like I will hit this place multiple times from now. Keep going guys :)
A small casual restaurant located near my office, north Indian's delight this place is!! One of the best restaurants (in terms of food quality) that I have come across in Chennai.
The ambiance is of a regular small restaurant, nothing too great about it! One of the amazing things about this place is that its service is quick!! They dont take too much time in making and decorating the dishes but ensure they have good quality food to offer to their customers. We ordered mushroom masala, dal, paneer butter masala and ice cream. Mushroom masala was amazingly delicious!! Very-well prepared and a good blend of spices in it. Dal was also good, however, paneer butter masala was very sweet which i didn't enjoy! The chapati, naan and kulcha is well-prepared and cooked well before being served to the customers, unlike many of the other places in Chennai.
Definitely a value for money, and must try is the Mushroom masala gravy here!
Very good quantity and quality food at reasonable price. Very warm service. Dropping here usually for amazing north indian cuisine apart from best South Indian food.
Accidentally found this place when I was in the neighbourhood and looking for some place to have lunch. There is nothing fancy about the place except that the food is good. A lot of items in the menu for my liking but I liked what I got. Service was good and the food also good.
Two issues... One is that it's pure vegetarian and second is that parking is limited.
Amazing place. It's small, compact and serves some quality food at extremely nominal prices. As the name suggests, you can definitely take a handful of friends to this place and yet end up not burning a hole in your pocket.
One of the best places I've been to in my stay in Chennai. A small cozy place to eat to your heart's content. Hearty servings and their ever helpful staff, this is one of my "go-to" places in Adyar. Quality food and quality service. Maintaining of good relationship with their clients for years now. I'd go back here any day, any time.
P. S. - Their Paneer dishes are heavenly accompanied with a Garlic or Butter naan.
I ordered a 'Special North Indian Meals' from this hotel. They started with a tomato soup and once it was finished, I was served with two pieces of Nan with a north Indian sabji, two small bowls of different varieties of rice (the combination will differ every day), a bowl of dal, a veg sabji and a pappad. Once you finish the lunch, we will be served with a cup of vanilla ice cream worth RS.10/-
This multi course lunch cost just RS.100 and is available from 12-3pm only. I will give 9/10 regarding value for money
Treat ! After so much hype from my friends for the price it offers food myself and few of my dear ones decided to try this eatery as we were hampered by lack of funds :P
We 4 of us went.
LOCATION : bang on ! On the famous Gandhi nagar 1st main road. 4.5/5
Parking is quite a prob .
AMBIANCE : nothing great! Jus serial lights . they need to work on it. TV is available . 2/5
SERVICE : though the greatest remedy for anger is delay ! Here the delay triggers your anger ! You get whatever you want at a slow pace. Treating customers : Good .. Def good ppl :) ! Overall i3/5
WHAT WE ORDERED? : ( FOOD : 3.5/5)
Starters :
1. Rajasthan Gobi : fried Gobi with the dash of grated Paneer. Yummy it was. Found it lil bit saltier.
2. Paneer tikka : not that appealing both look and taste wise
Main course:
1. Butter naan : the most sought after Indian bread with lavish sprinkle of white sesame :)
2. Methi paratha : at last found good amount of methi leaves in paratha in this place
3. Paneer Hyderabadi: a spicy Paneer gravy with red and green chillies ! Compliments your tangy taste buds :)
4. Schezwan fried rice: I seriously don't know y we ordered Chinese in the middle of desi. Not soo good.
5. Mixed Raitha : perfect mixture of veggies with rightly liquidated curd
Dessert:
Chocolate ice cream : oh god ! One should definitely try this out here . A sure fire ,:)
WHAT I WISHED TO TRY ?
Cashewnut pulav - heard it's good here and baby corn masala.
VFM : definitely worth the money. Compared to other eatery the quantity is more. 4/5
Watching IPL accompanied by my dear ones that tooo with FOOOOOD ! What else one could more ask for a perfect TREAT ! This is a place to satisfy your cravings when you fall short of funds . Ll definitely visit again .
A small decent place located in a good spot.
Service is excellent! Food is served quick and is yummy!
The place is maintained well.
Price is very reasonable! I've heard they deliver without any minimum order price which is appreciable.
Myself and 2 of my friends went that side on a job and looking for some pure veg place for lunch and located it. This restaurant has two parts, one in left is air conditioned and the other in right is self serviced fast food type. We opted for AC one.
This place is easy to locate. In the service lane near adyar bridge while heading malar hospital. Paid parking is there so no issue for parking. Ambiance is simple and ok. Service is average which can be better.
I tried south indian thali and it is decent. Poori is soft and served hot. Also taste good with kurma. Sambar, kara kolambu, rasam are also good. Kara kolambu is best of all. Poriyal, kootu etc bad.
The best part is price. Just Rs.85/- for this meal at a location like adyar is the best value proposition. Give a try since it is decent and pocket friendly.
An average restaurant with decent food. Soup was okayish. Roti and sabji were good. Reasonably priced and well located. Kept clean and neat. Good service.
the reastaurant is a located on the main road itself and has 6-7 stairs ,which is lil tough for the older people to climb. we entered the reastaurant and got a table for 5 people easily during lunch time, we ordered special north indian meal and veg biryanni, north indian meal is mor than worth the value - tomato soup , kadhai paneer , daal , raita , veg biryanni - 2 cups, saviyaa(sweet) , papad , butter naan , gobi fry and in the end ice cream cups .. all for rs 100 per person. taste was also good and order came in no time .
I've known this place for more than four years. And quite surprisingly (now that I think of it) they have managed to hold prices the same. Few things to note:
1. The menu isn't really the one that is shown here. They have much more to offer than as a part of regular north Indian cuisine.
2. The food is really good, no comprise on that. And seeing the place withstand the face of time should give you an idea that economical pricing isn't just a number that attracts people.
3. It's a quiet (generally, obviously depends on people around), simple and neat place.
If you need a silent evening dinner that doesn't burn a hole in your pocket but would rather calm you down, this is the place to be.

Was wondering where to go yesterday and we decided something inexpensive and best, when saw review loads of people were positive about the restaurant hence went on. I was planning for SOUTH INDIAN unfortunately they said NO SOUTH INDIAN FOOD AVAILABLE on Weekends.
Was a bit disappointed, Later me and my friend decided to have VEG BIRIYANI AND PANNER PULAV. Must say Biriyani tasted really good seemed like it was prepared in home, however the panner pulav was OK as there was no sufficient amount of SALT on it. The Price wasn't that expensive and it was reasonable. Its good if you go with your family, Mild ambience you will certainly enjoy the food there.
Will Visit soon.

I wasn't expecting much from this place when I went for dinner at this place. It was a clean ambience decent for a 40 seating capacity. What surprised me was the swiftness of service and food quality. For this small place they have done pretty well.
Been here for lunch many times. Its a north indian style restaurant. I have tried almost all lunch menu items. All are equally good. Sambar rice, tomato rice, naan subji r my favorite. Veg biriyani will be average here but definitely not worst. South Indian meals also good here. North India meals is also available which I would say not worth money as the quantity is very less. Overall this restaurant is good. U can blindly try any except lemon rice
If you work in the whereabouts of Gandhinagar,Adyar ,"Treat" is a lunch haven that serves quality thali's at a pocket friendly price.Their mushroom pulao is served quickly, tastes good & is a hearty meal.Wish that they had fresh juices served as well.Great place!Good food!Excellent service.
Treat the hotel name is like a treat!! The food tastes excellent!! Creamy tomato soup, masala papad, All tandoori naans are excellent and also all the kadai subzis!!! The food is worth the money and the cost is also reasonable!! A must visit place!! And also good ambience and a peaceful place!!
Though being unnoticed quite often , the food this place serves happens to be delightful.
One can keep their expectations and taste buds high if they are craving for any north indian dish.
The side dishes are phenomenonal with exquisite taste and the breads add up only to its advantage .
Ambience has improved to its previous situation and so has its service .
Being in Chennai and variety of north indian dishes that they serve are excellent and the best of all .
This is our regular to-go-in-pajamas place. Very decent phulkas, dal fry & paneer sheekh kababs. Their coriander chutney is surprisingly good. Not the runny compromise but thick & home-style. And they're quite generous with it. Be a little patient with them on busy service times. They are sweet people and will do their best to get the food to your table as soon as they can.
Probably one of the best North Indian food I've tasted. The ambiance is simple, but the food is really amazing. I like how the quantity is perfect, and the time to deliver is also quick. A MUST TRY in this place is definitely the Malai Kofta. They are the best here! And also to add on, the Masala kulchas. They are unbelievable.
This is the place for you if you're craving for some DELICIOUS north indian food.
This is a no frills place with decent food. The pricing is very affordable. Not much of an ambience but service is quick and food meets expectations.
Treat used to be the eat out spot for everyone around Adyar. It then became quite a big hit, but then they had to shut down the place for sometime. Ever since then the place has lost its charm. Still a good restaurant !
Best place for veg north indian food in adyar area. Even the poori masala is excellent. Reasonable prices
I don’t usually do ‘mini’ reviews (I am firmly of the notion that my – relatively – lengthy insights are my calling card in Zomato - a point of difference if you will, from the umpteen laconic reviews available otherwise on the site). The mere fact that I am doing it for Treat, a neat little place tucked in between two other ‘jambavaans’ of the restaurant world on 1st Main Road in Gandhi Nagar, speaks volumes about the impression their food has had on me.
Everyone has that one go-to place in their neighborhood which they rely on for one thing, and one thing only: ordering food home (you know, when they’re either too tired to cook or quite simply bored of it). Treat is that place for me in Adyar – I’ve been ordering at least once a week from here for the past two months now. It’s not a lack of options that keeps me coming back – indeed, Adyar is so overflowing with restaurants that its criminal to stick to one place for far too long – no, it’s the food. They have a fairly robust north-indian menu sprinkled with the odd ‘exotic’ dish but their curries… oh so good. If you’re the paneer-hogging foodie that I am, consider Treat your heaven on earth. And I haven’t even told you the best part yet - dirt-cheap prices for food so good.
If you live in Adyar and hunger pangs strike after a long, hard day at work when home-cooked food just won’t do – give Treat a call. You won’t regret it. 4/5.

Randomly went here for a dinner with my room mate. Had Masala Papad, Butter Naan, Butter Roti and Kaju Masala. The first three were good. Kaju Masala was decent.
The ambience and lighting were good for the place. Felt the waiting time for dishes was quite high.
A decent place to have quite good North Indian dishes.
It is a very nice place for a calm and peaceful get together. The location is easily accessible near to Adayar bridge signal. The menu is very decent for a normal veggie treat, at a very decent price.
Each and every dish there is very tasty and can be enjoyed in a peaceful ambience. The menu includes north indian and chinese dishes with perfect taste. Pulavs need to specially mentioned, as the mildness and the taste will really treat your tongue. The other needs to be mentioned are rotis, naans and the north indian side dishes such as paneer butter masala, malai kofta. The speciality of the side dishes is that the same gravy is not used for all gravies. Each one is unique... soups also stand great than any other restaurants of same level.
One of the disappointing factor is desserts. You wont get juices and faloodas which are my favorite. Packet Branded icecreams willbe served that too limited flavours such as butter scotch, pista, chocolate etc.
I assure you will get a light feel in your stomach and pocket.

A feel free and must try restaurant
The restaurant is located a bit far from the prime access roads but Pretty good restaurant with decent price & perfect ambience. Perfect spot for hangouts & long chat dinners!
A simple place where one can drop by for a decent meal at an affordable cost. The portions served are generous and the masalas generally mild. Worth a visit, esp when one is too lazy to cook at home!!
Nice place to dine in. Interior has been changed . taste of all the gravy is unique and different . quantity is good enough and good service.
Affordable, tasty, good ambience in core of adyar . recommend this hotel.
Food tried : aloo masala,roti,naan,palak
panneer,kadai veg,briyani,soups.
Soup variety could be more.....Briyani is quite oily..,.
Amazing place to spend an evening! This is the 'home restaurant' for me and my friends, especially when you are giving a birthday treat! My favorites here are Paneer Butter Masala and Gobi Manchurian! The new ambience is simply superb and customer service is too good!
Treat is a small restaurant in Adyar which serves excellent north Indian food. Ambience wise this place is average only but Clean and hygienic. I am used to go every Sunday evening. They made excellent Kaju Madala. Fulka is also quite good. Good food at quite Economic rate.
THE TREAT: This is a humble vegetarian restaurant operated in Adyar on two levels conceptually. One small outlet having a self service counter for breakfast and lunch and another AC section as regular restaurant, side by side. The self service counter provides services of Tiffin varieties for breakfast and during lunch time apart from the limited thali meals, they have Rotils, Aloo parathas, Vegetable biriyani, Curd Rice and Fried Rice. The pricing is very nominal compared to the surrounding restaurants and people working in the vicinity flock here for a plate of limited meals and the rice is worth the value and some times you have to struggle through the counters to get hold of a plate of meals………………………………………… In the self service counter the meals get over quickly, you are then forced to try their rotis,Butter Naan, Aloo Parathas and Veg Biryani. Most of their Parathas and Roti varieties seem to be made with Maida flour and may not be suggested for a regular consumption even though they are tasty……………………………………… Their Ac section provides very interesting menu mostly of north Indian and Chinese dishes and the taste of these delicacies here are great in taste and a real value for money. Of some interesting dishes, I have tried here worth mentioning about are: Drumstick soup and Vegetable lollipop. The drumstick soup has its distinct taste and any one who wants to have a soup with a traditional flavor would love this one and for a starter the Vegetable lollipop is a real innovation and it almost looks like a chicken lollipop and tastes heavenly. Different types of fried rice available here are worth trying for the main course including the Paneer fried rice which is liberally blended with tiny chunks of crispy fried paneer. Other major north Indian dishes worth mentioning are Paneer tikka, Gobi Manchurian and Paner Butter masala……………………………………………… This joint could turn out to be a real TREAT for those who are cost conscious but still want to indulge in some north Indian delicacies in Adyar area.
This is a pure veggie restaurant in the centre of adyar. The restuarant does not look hi-fi. Its very simple and minimalistic.
Pricing is the best part and as per my observation its, "best value for money".
Most of the items are good and tasty. Have been there n number of times and was never disappointed till now. They take a bit more time for delivery if its a bit crowded, else its fine. Only one person manage the order's over there and hence it takes time even to give your order.
If you are looking for a veg restaurant and budget oriented then i guess this is the best place to have your meal.
Good Taste and Special Dishes... Serving bowls are unique.. Look the mini sambar bucket.. We ate Navarathna Podi Dosai.. pure Veg Hotel must try...
One of the best homely made good and healthy food made with love ..served ..no added preservatives, no artificial colorings used ..they serve breakfast ,lunch dinner ..just visit and have good healthy meal ..they have mini tiffin also for breakfast try them out .

Small cozy eatery place. Kudos for service!!! . Food was good, sambar and chutney was nice
Amidst the biggies like sangeetha and mathsya, this place is unique in its rustic look yet pleasant ambience. Service is really good. Their signature dish atishi aloo and seeragasamba biryani is one to try every time one goes there. A sumptuous starter and a wholesome food respectively. Overall an unforgettable experience. All the best.
Food is very testy and healthy, idlis are super good, clean , peacefull and good air, I have my lunch almost everyday there . Breackfast dinner good too. Many varieti of dishes. Good !
Looks simple but serves some brilliant food. Short eats to proper meals this place covers all. Have been eating here for a while, priced sensibly and quality is good and consistent. Amongst the few places that actually listens to your preference and serves up food the way you request for it!!
I went to this cozy, warm, home feel restaurant tonight for dinner after seeing the positive reviews. Am glad I took the right decision. The food was amazing, the way they treat customers however intolerant they are which is incredible. I loved the idea of tiny cute bucket for sambar which was sufficient for 2 idlies for people who love to soak in it. They also refill if you want more. Reasonably priced made with good quality ingredients and the magic touch of Mrs Lalitha. She makes the ingredients on her own. Their navarathna podi dosa was yummy
Even the children can eat. I am very happy finding this restaurant. Waiting to try their tandoori and curries. The curries are served with fire down at the bottom to keep it warm until it is done. These tiny little carefull details is their specialty I guess. I wish both the mother and the son all the best.
Really good authentic south Indian food with a few special recipes also...The coffee was
perfect which we rarely find nowadays
