Ratna Cafe - Chennai (Madras) - Photo album

It's my first time here in all these years πŸ˜… I didn't have much expectations but the sambar was quite nice! We went for a long walk and stopped here for breakfast. The service was quick and given it to be a Sunday morning. The crowd pours in after 8 in the morning! They do have valet parking
Sambhar idly πŸ‘Œ. Not the best sambar idly in town. Definitely some hotels tastes better than this, but the highlight is the unlimited sambhar refills, even before you think of asking it. That is the unique point here. Early morning beach walk and sambhar idly + Filter coffee would be bliss.
I visited this branch and was in love with it after my first bite. The taste of SAMBAR is mouth watering. You will literally drink sambar from the plate ( I'm not exaggerating). The staff here are super friendly and service here is also good. They have a small outlet of sweets and savories outside,
Very Expensive! Average ambience! Food tastes too good but very oily in the Adyar branch. The parking space is less and I struggled to park my bike. Overall it will be a treat for vegetarians
The coffee here can never disappoint you. I remember how often we used to drive all the way from OMR to just have the Ratna Cafe coffee. You just cannot stop at 1. Do not miss the Dal Wadai or Bhajji as your snacking option. The mystery also got resolved when I finally got the sambar on my table in
If you're seeking an authentic South Indian dining experience, this place should be on your list. I sampled several dishes during my visit, including the Andhra Kara Dosa, Idli with a generous bowl of Sambar, and Rava Dosa, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The Andhra Kara Dosa was a deli
The place is very popular for its authentic South Indian food. The place is precisely located and offers a wide variety of items mainly for South Indian cuisine. You should try their ghee Pongal, Masala dosa, and different types of idlies.
Yesterday I was at Ratna Cafe located on Sardar Patel Road in Adyar for dinner with family. Thoroughly enjoyed the Idlis, Vada , Rava Dosa and Onion Uthappa along with the the signature Sambhar. Great Taste. Value for money. Parking is a constraint
I find this one as of the most dependable places for it's Food. Had tried the food here multiple times and it rarely disappointed, be it dine-in or delivery. I had tried the south Indian meals, Chinese combo, parota, rava dosa, Idly, Chola poori and every item was top notch. I was surprised they co
Best coffee and thair vada in town! This place is a classic, has been around for eons and yet preserved its top notch taste quality over time.
Excellent food. The world famous sambar idli is still has the same taste and aroma. The icing on the cake is the hot jilebis ...straight from the pan....
They maintain authentic south indian food taste, hygiene, valet parking available.
We liked the food so much. The medhu vadas in this place are to die for. They're the best! Pongal, masala dosa, and idli sambar were finger licking good. You have to visit this place. Just when we were getting ready to have coffee, we accidentally spilled it over the table. The waiter was really k
This restaurant still brings back the memory of my visit to the Triplicane branch. If you've idlis, sambar and chutneys tasting great all of them together will only be wonderful. That is how it is here. Super soft idlis doused in excellent sambar that gets filled to ensure the whiteness of idlis is
Food tastes the same as it did in the original Triplicane joint which I have been going since 1991. The service is fast and efficient. Coffee still the best in town for me. Nothing can go wrong here with Idli and Sambhar - like ever. Retro feel which works for me in a breakfast spot.
The food and service are good. You can trust and eat in here. Only thing tat bothers are the curry leaves and tomato skin in sambar served for thattu idly. Too many of it, spoils the eating experience a bit. Ulunthu vadai tasted good and was nice and soft even by 9pm.
We had idly, vada, onion rava dosa, onion uttapam and Pongal. Everything was really good.. sambhar was served really hot n well. Ofcourse it’s not the same as it used to be in 2000’s… but compared to other Branded restaurants in Chennai, I think this restaurant serves the breakfast really well with
