Senthil Bakery is all Time Favourite of all Mylaporeans. Very Soft and Tasty Cakes, Tastier Chaats like Pav Bhaji, Dahi Poori (all time favorite), Bhel Puri, Awesome Sandwiches, Very Soft Bread, Shakes and Juices are simply superb.
Good variety especially being completely vegetarian .
The pastries are quite good too.The pricing is also on point for the quality and quantity.

One of my favourite shops in Mylapore. Nothing much to describe. Quite a place on the main road with huge crowd in the evening.
Right from Veg roll till milkshakes, the best is made. I don't care about the price when it comes to quality. The shop deserves even better. Best one is Rose milk. As good as the one from Myalpore famous Rose milk shop.
Introduced ice cream and milkshakes, quite a good range with amenable types and cost. I'm happy to be long term customer since 2011.
Mylapore favourite bakery . .they have also opened a new shop near Vivekananda which means they are popular carrying with turnover.
You can definitely try all cakes here different types of flavoured cakes available and chat items are also tasty.
Here's an extremely popular snacks and desserts outlet that literally runs on its softy cones.
Ofcourse, there's no place to sit inside and eat - but, one could just savour their delicacies right outside on the pavements.
They do parcel for a slight charge.
Relishing my vanilla softy took me back to my childhood. At INR 20, it's one treat that you can constantly give yourself without burning a hole in your pocket.
I also liked the lychee milkshake - though I felt that the quantity was smaller than I had expected it to be.
Bottomline : A sure go - if you are looking for food on the go.

My parents took me here for the first time almost a decade ago and since then, they've managed to keep that bar of quality in their food just as high as it was when they set up shop.
The shop holds sentimental value for me to a degree as it's seen me grow over the years and I'm sure any other Mylaporean local would attest to the feeling of home that the place vibes of.
They have the best lime juice in the city, hands down.
Their eateries are relatively pricey, but quality and taste compensates for the few extra bucks that you shell out.
Their sandwich/chaat bar is relatively new but totally kills it with the variety.
So here's a list of things that you can look out for, in case you go by Kutchery Road someday and happen to glance upon the place:
Paneer Cheese Roll - My favourite puff variety off the shelf, this one sells faster than Usain Bolt on steroids.
Bhel Puri - They have good quantity and it's the best in the vicinity.
Cheese Hot and Spicy - It's neither hot, nor spicy but it's the best mayo sandwich that 40 bucks can get you in town. But you can always ask for some chillies in case you like having enough spice to run a molten furnace in your mouth like me.
Their ice creams deserve a special mention. Their softy cones are priced at 20 bucks and other fancy ones start at 50 bucks and upwards and it tastes just as good you think puffy white clouds would taste like. Totally would recommend.
Their variety goes beyond this and also extends to faloodas, fresh juices and burgers. It's a bummer for meat lovers though, cuz the place is veg-only. But give it a shot anyway.
Load yourself with a hundred and fifty bucks and you're good to go. This place is not one to miss. Try it sometime, if you tend to hang around Mylapore.

This place once started with just mint lime and apparently people made fun of them for what they made and today mint lime is one of the top sold beverage in every outlet of every restaurant.
This place has good milk shakes, juices and their breads and cakes too. They're all made in house. Had a small interview with the owner'a wife. Will post a blog soon.

Visited this place today evening for a quick bite. Tried noodles samosa which is not that appealing. But the panneer roll is the best one. The pricing is light on pocket. Softy Ice creams collection in this outlet is the one which stands out and fares better than McDonald's and KFC. Finished the round up of this
outlet with a lime mint which has a soothing effect. The catch is no parking facility. But a must try for softy aficionados.
Best place for short eats. An air conditioned bakery kind of a set up. Wide variety of cakes, puffs and flavoured buns are available here. They have chaat as well as sandwiches to order.
We had the pizza bun, paneer cutlet, chocolate milkshake and a paneer bun. The food is decent for the price.
Nothing can be called overpriced here.
Surely a must try for all mylapore residents.

Faloodas are awesome here!!! Panipuri masala has a unique taste and colour here... hotdogs are so good with mayonnaise... The most difficult part is parking is not available...
It should feature in legendary restaurants as it is that old but still maintains the quality of the food.
Noodles samosa and cheese puff is famous here. The subs and burgers are really filling and one could actually have a meal here.
Prices are cheap. Service is quick. The only drawback will be lack of seats to sit on to enjoy the amazing food they make.
One of the most sought out bakeries in the area, which was put up as one of the places in food walk. Mylapore is filled with such small gems with quality seldom compromised.
It's in the Kutchery road which leads to Santome from Mylapore. Parking is a bit problematic as it's a busy road. Timing is a factor here, as the best ones will get over soon.
The Menu has Sandwiches, Burgers, Hotdogs, Lassi, Milkshakes and pastries. Ordered the famous Gulkhand shake and Palak Paneer sandwich. The palak paneer filling was not like the ones served in restaurants, it was extra spicy, which went along with the bread. The Gulkhand lassi was too rich to have. Each sip had the ingredients' amiability.
The service is fair for the crowd. But, can see few customers complaining that they got drinks with ice even after insisting not to add. The pricing is dead cheap, doest hurt to travel all the way there to taste the food here.

An extremely pocket-friendly place frequented by college students and a younger crowd.
The best items here are rose milk, badam milk & many other varieties of flavoured milks. Not the best in town but value for money on most of them. Their rose milk is often compared with Kalathi's rose milk but on the other hand it is a little expensive here compared to Kalathi.
Their puffs are also great in that they aren't oily.
I tried fruit mixed faluda ice cream and it was nothing special to be specific, it was a normal vanilla ice cream with chopped multiple fruits in it but it was good. I loved vanilla milkshake here

I went here along with few friends last week, as part of a Food Walk.
After haunting Rayar's mess and Karpagambal Sweets, our next visit was to Senthil Softy, which was located about 100mtrs away from Karpagambal Sweets.
We originally wanted to try the Gulkand Milk, but sadly, that wasn't available.
So we ended up getting:
Badam Milk - I tasted a small sip. Liked it. My friend said it's perfect
Chocolate Milk - My friend appeared to like this, though I don't remember trying this one :P
Rose Milk - Decent, bit too sweety though. Many would love it I suppose.
Overall, the bill here was Rs. 82 which works out to an average of ~27.33 :P Pretty pocket friendly I'd say !

AMBIENCE: its a stand and eat type outlet , sometimes its so crowded you can easily runaway without paying (just saying), also you have be careful that you or vehicle does not get mowed down by the MTC buses plying inches away ! parking is a task , absolutely no space to park in the narrow busy road !
FOOD : one word-VARIETY so much variety in such a small shop! black-forest is really the best , tastes better than other premium bakeries, chat items are also decent.please stay away from the burger its not a burger patty its just a cutlet !

Tried Paneer cheese roll, veg cutlet, badam milk and lime mint cooler. The rolls are really good here. Mine had a decent filling and tasted good. Veg cutlet is fantastic. Lime mint cooler is their best selling drink and is refreshing. Badam milk was terrible.
Ice cream is another popular on the menu. The softie ice creams are reasonably priced and are decent in taste.
Overall, this is a vfm joint for a quick snack and nothing more than that.

Ever got confused what to order, Yes of course, many times in a restaurant but first time in a road side eatery I'm confused what to order. As I thought to go for a food walk around mylapore I stopped by this place as I heard their rose milk (flavoured milk) will be good. But I never thought they ll make to stand there and stare the Manu for long time. Then I decided to start with a cutlet as it looked delicious and yes, it tasted the same way. Then as a rare combination I turned for a hot dog as I saw it, it is prepared and tasted like a sub don't know why they named hot dog but is was good, spicy and juicy. Then I had what I really came for, their rose milk. It was think, sweet and good but nothing special than the ordinary flavored milk. But I'm giving 4 for them because this shop is one of its kind and they are maintaining it superb and I think they can brand it and open multiple outlets (I Guess they don't have).
This place is a memorable one for me since I did my high schooling in mandaveli ... Those two years I haven't missed to visit this shop at least once a week ... The variety of puff u get here is quite enormous .. Chenna puffs, Paneer puff, veg roll r my favorite ... This is just a heaven of budget food .

Senthil softy zone is a kind of an outlet thats really rare...its not easy to find shops like this...and i dont mean so for the taste...but by the variety of items they serve...the items they serve are sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, hotdogs, snacks, puffs, chats, varities of samosas, varities of cutlets, flavored milk, shakes, softies, cakes and pastries...Have we ever heard all these being served at a single place...you wil say yes...wats the big deal in it...but what if i say that this place looks no different than a normal roadside bakery..Then it gets really interesting...so during a mini food walk in mylapore i included this place due to recommendation of a close friend...
Location : On the kutchery road...opposite to the luz church road...a couple 100 metres on the left...
Parking : Road side parking only...only for 2 wheelers..
Ambiance : Its no more than 2 normal sized shops clubbed together...its just a take away joint...The variety of items they serve and the looks of the actual outlet dont match a bit....as said u can just have a take away or you can buy and eat standing there...
Service : Nothing goes in the name of service...there are lot of people to serve...one for each variety i guess...the speed of service is average...during heavy flow of orders the scene gets chaotic...
Taste : Tried just a few items...flavored milk, panner puff and a veg cutlet...the chocolate flavored milk was just good...not great or anything special was priced at 26rs...the panner puff at 22rs was also just average...taste wise was spicy...and the filling inside was so meagre...as promoted these puffs have comparatively less oil in the puffs...the cutlet at 22rs was bigger in quantity...haven seen cutlets of this size anywhere...taste wise also was good..not the regular cutlet you wil get....
Value for Money : Have had better flavored milks for lesser prices..the puff too was just average...priced a bit high for the quantity....you might say its priced high coz it was a panner puff..but the filling was too less....the cutlet was better...good in taste and size too was great for the price...though with normal tastes in items they serve..this place stands out in fact of varieties of items they serve...will definitely visit again to try some more varieties...

A place where almost all varieties from puffs to samosas to delicious cakes and high quality chats are available. Once you visit this place, you can't refrain from visiting it again. Everything is fresh and an ideal place with a budget of 100 per person.
This place is an upscale version of a local bakery. From flavoured milks to milkshakes to ice creams and lot of varieties of cutlets like paneer, mushroom, vegetable etc, to rolls and puffs and pizzas, uffff, they've hell lot of items to taste. I got a rose milk and paneer cutlet. Rose milk was too sweet and thick which is not of my type. The paneer cutlet was soft with subtle amount of spices. Had a chance of sampling the kiwi flavoured softy. It was just a normal one and nothing to rave about.
No ambiance n all. Either do a take away or stand there and eat. I would love to go again to try the puffs and other rolls.

My friends and I happened to visit Senthil softy as part of the Mylapore food walk. Located in the busy street parallel to north mada street, it doesn't stand out among other shops. The saying 'good things come in small packages' is so true when one stumbles upon this place. There is not much of an ambience about the place except for the honking and the constant passing by of vehicles. The menu is very very elaborate and you will be confused as to what to order. We ordered pani puri, the taste of which lingered on for a long time. The mint water that was given along with the pani puri was very fresh, cool and minty. To follow it up, we ordered a mint lemon juice which was not as good as the LMC in Fruit Shop but still did total justice. To finish it off, we ordered a vanilla softy which is by far the best I have tasted anywhere. Though we didn't try it, the badam milk here is good too. Coming to the costs, this place is easy on your wallet and one can eat sufficiently with a hundred rupees. This is definitely one place I would visit again and again to try different things on their menu. Overall, I don't think there's anything that will go wrong with this place.
Senthil Softy Zone is the best place for short eats. The aroma of puffs, samosas, pastries and a lot of other bakery items on one side while the other side is their sandwich and hot dogs. Their sandwiches are really good, and so are their hot dogs. I loved the rose milk which tempted me for three glass :p Only thing is you need to stand outside and enjoy their delicious stuffs. Overall, a very nice place to eat.
I've been visiting this place since childhood. Its a very small shop but their food is just awesome. Puffs, pasteries, rolls, milkshakes, fresh juices everything is good. Only drawback is dat there's no place to sit n eat but its the taste that's imp right. ?
All time favourite hangout spot for me and my friends. Love all the sandwiches and the puffs available here. Especially the infinite variety available on puffs and sandwiches makes this place so much better. And not to forget the beverages and the dessert they make. They are too good too. Too bad we've to stand out and eat.

Senthils! Since I can remember I have been eating there! Their Veg roll tastes the same from the time they introduced it. Their Samosas and Capsicum Puffs are really really good. They have also introduced the chat corner some time back and which is an added advantage. Their Rose milk and Badam Milk is quite famous too! A definite place to visit if u are in Mylapore and looking for a snack more importantly if you are looking out for veg options! I would love the place even more if they start serving non veg dishes, which I don't think will ever happen!! :D

What do I say and where do I start. I was staying as bachelor in Mylapore. Since 2003 I know this place. I am a very big fan of their Veg Hot dog( they just keep coleslaw in hotdog bun). Very simple item yet tasty and filling. Couple of that hotdog and their mint juice would see through the day. Now they have expanded, still as much receptive to customers, menu has expanded to add chat items, pizza' burger etc. Their cutlets and puffs needs a special mention. Though I haven't had their cakes, by the looks and flavours I feel it will be good too. Over all very good snack joint. Their cone ice creams, rose milks, Guys I would suggest you visit them at least once. :-) :-) :-)

Senthil Softy Zone was our second stop at food walk during Mylapore Festival (Jan 8-11) on last Saturday. It was famous for flavoured milk (rose, chocolate, badam, pista, etc..) & non/less oily snacks (puffs, samosas, etc..) & sandwiches.
It's like a small bakery where you get your dish & stand there & eat or takeaway. They also had various pasties as well..
We just ordered milk shakes, since it was just after having snacks at mami mess. Our order was two chocolate & a badam milk shake.
Chocolate shake was very tastier to our taste buds, but more like rose milk. Seems they added some rose essence to the chocolate shake. Friend told me that badam drink was very good with tiny almond/badam flakes. It costs around ₹85 for 3 drinks.
They have variety of bakery items like puffs, samosas, pastries, milk shakes, softies, etc..

The Aroma of cakes and samosas and onions and cheese invites one's attention to this little shop in Mylapore.
Hidden among the 324564 shops lining the road-side, this place serves probably 6-7 varieties of samosas and cutlets. And all of them are lip smackingly good!!.
Not to mention the strange funny names- Dizzy dogs... the pizza items are good too ( though not authentic and might be a lil old) .
My picks here would be the paneer delicacies- Samosas, cutlets and rolls, the pan pizza ( do watch out if its fresh!!) , the rose milk (which is rose only in color but tastes a lot like strawberry ;P) , the badam milk ( with bits of almond floating on top.. Yummmmm ) , the plain lemon juice ( heaven in a glass during summer for 9 Rupees).
The chaats are quite bad. The sandwiches are good but I feel only the veg chutney sandwich to be worth the money i pay in this category. All other sandwiches are pricey for the spread that they give . The grilled sandwiches are a lil spicy but tasty and worth the money.

It is a lovely place for fresh juices, milk shakes, ice creams, chaat items , sandwiches and burgers. I went to this place with my dad for evening snacks. Nothing big to talk about ambience. They don't have dine in facilities. Either stand and eat or best to get a take away. It is a hygienic place. Place is always crowded with people of all age groups.

Noodle samosa : stuffings were nice and taste was also good.
Badam milk: very average in taste
Podina juice: lovely flavour.
Paneer tikka roll: loved every bite of it.
Cheese puffs: it had a yummy cheese flavour.
Choco dip delight: lovely thick vanilla ice cream, mixed with chocolate sauce, was yummy and filling.
Other than the Badam milk, everything else were awesome. Pricing is very reasonable. Prompt service. Overall a great place to visit for evening snacks and refreshments.

My goto place when I'm hungry and I need something light to eat. The bakery stuff here is just brilliant. The fruit juices and milkshakes are no lesser. Their western stuff like pan pizzas and sandwiches and the chat stuff are pretty good too barring their price. Overall, a very nice place to eat at if you're short on cash and are looking to spend it on a worthwhile snack.

Baby corn puff, mushroom puff, chilli puff, cheese puff, paneer tikka puff, mushroom roll, veg roll, veg cutlet, mushroom cutlet, veg samosa, noodles samosa and so many many more savory items! And I can personally vouch for each and every one of these savory products! Not tasted their pastries, sandwiches or chaat yet, but I sure will soon!
The ready made lime juice as well as the lime mint juice are the best for the Chennai summer heat!
Overall, I would give this place a rating of more than 5 if I could.

I assure you, Senthil Softy Zone is the best place for short eats. They've got puffs, samosas, pastries and a lot of other bakery items on one side while the other side is their sandwich-cum-chaat counter. Their sandwiches are really good, and so are their hot dogs (it's all veg) and the pineapple falooda. If you're in the vicinity, you should definitely check out Senthil Softy Zone.

This has been our go to spot ever since our childhood.
Every birthday treat, evening snack and a treat from my parents used to be at this place.
This quality is super consistent with senthil Softy Zone all through these years.
But the prices have been hitting the roof considering the quantity offered.
But for once it's a must try for yummy Puffs, spring rolls, pastries and their Softy ❤️
Good quality cakes and puffs. All veg though. The donuts are a must try. They are filled with a chocolate centre. All items are reasonably priced. I've been a customer for more than 10 years now and the quality still remains.
This place is a main attraction for school students and every item was fresh
quality of the food and service is good and also consistent. If you are going to get a quick bite of chat, sandwich then this place is recommended. I would suggest chat items, mint and lemon juice

Senthil Softy Zone is a kind of an outlet that's really rare... Its not easy to find shops like this... And i don't mean so for the taste... But by the variety of items they serve... The items they serve are sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, hotdogs, snacks, puffs, chats, varieties of samosas, varieties of cutlets, flavored milk, shakes, softies, cakes and pastries... Have we ever heard all these being served at a single place... You will say yes... What's the big deal in it... But what if i say that this place looks no different than a normal roadside bakery.. Then it gets really interesting... So during a mini food walk in mylapore i included this place due to recommendation of a close friend...
Location : On the kutchery road...opposite to the luz church road...a couple 100 mts on the left...
Parking : Road side parking only...only for 2 wheelers..
Ambiance : Its no more than 2 normal sized shops clubbed together... Its just a take away joint... The variety of items they serve and the looks of the actual outlet don't match a bit.... As said u can just have a take away or you can buy and eat standing there...
Service : Nothing goes in the name of service... There are lot of people to serve...one for each variety i guess...the speed of service is average...during heavy flow of orders the scene gets chaotic...
Taste : Tried just a few items... Flavored milk, Paneer puff and a veg cutlet... The chocolate flavored milk was just good... Not great or anything special was priced at 26rs... The paneer puff at 22rs was also just average... Taste wise was spicy... And the filling inside was so meagre... As promoted these puffs have comparatively less oil in the puffs... The cutlet at 22rs was bigger in quantity... Haven't seen cutlets of this size anywhere... Taste wise also was good.. Not the regular cutlet you will get....
Value for Money : Have had better flavored milks for lesser prices.. The puff too was just average... Priced a bit high for the quantity.... You might say its priced high coz it was a paneer puff.. But the filling was too less.... The cutlet was better...Good in taste and size too was great for the price... Though with normal tastes in items they serve.. This place stands out in fact of varieties of items they serve... Will definitely visit again to try some more varieties...
I have been a patron since their first outlet opened on P S Sivaswamy Salai. It has been many years since they shut that one down, but their taste remains intact. They deliver high quality vegetarian chaat items and put high emphasis on safety. I can't recommend one specific dish/item because there are too many that are the best in their own right

Like their softy and puff.. must try... And their truffle cake is yum.... Rose milk was okay okay... But softy is show killer... You should try.
I would suggest to have the mint lime juice served here. The perfect combination of mint and lime costs u only rs.18 and I bet you will really love it. There are also vareity of puffs and other bakes available.

Part of the great Starwood group. Easily accessible. On OMR, close to Sholinganallur junction. Friendly staff. Went to "Dot.Yum" Restaurant. Great taste & high quality of ingredients. Enough number of tables to maintain enough privacy. Good spread for the price. There used to be larger spread with a little higher cost.
Large lounge area. Separate Bar, totally made of glass partition, is available. Will visit again for lunch.
My grandmother has been living in kutchery road forever and in my 24 years of being there I just visited Senthil Softy Zone. The softys were really creamy and fresh. The softy with chocolate sauce is must try. Only drawback is you have to stand and eat it as there is no place to sit
