Good place for quality south indian food. Butter chicken gravy is very tasty. Breads also good. Little expensive as per quantity. Seating arrangement is clean.
This place is very near to my house, i went there during weekend twice. I like their chicken biriyani, as per my palate it's not too dry and rice has got all the flavours even the spicy is also manageable. Good south Indian choices.

Today myself and a friend has Chicken 65 Biriyani and Country chicken Biriyani from this outlet. We found it better than RR Salem Biriyani which is situated just opposite to this hotel. But I have to agree that the quantity is less compared to their nearby competitor. Service was decent. Open parking space available. Decent ambiance too.

Also, Waiters Were Staring At Us While We Eat, Which Is Not Only Weird But Irritating..

Let me make a few things clear first ..... I didn't try their Biryani or the Brainfry which I understand are their USPs ..... They had run out of lamb brains..... understandable since one lamb has only one brain and it's not a not a huge mass of meat either, they also have Rabbit meat on Menu ......which i have never dared to try in my life.....so far
Ponnusamy is a chain with 9 outlets in Chennai and a few outside India too..... I opted for the Sholingnallur branch solely for the reason that it is nearest to my office at Siruseri. I started my preferred way ..... starting with Non-vegetarian Thali ..... Don't be fooled by the name .... it is only a teaser with bowls of Chicken, Mutton and Fish curries(No trace of meat) .....rice and the usual Samabar Rasama and chutnies that come along with any south Indian thali..... The non-vegetarian dishes(with Meat) need to be ordered separately..... I tried the Chettinad Mutton chilly fry ...... mentioned as "Quarter" on the Menu and aptly enough for a single stomach..... little chunks of boneless mutton rolled over in pepper ...soft and subtly spiced .... the second was Nethili fry ....... Nethili is a tiny Anchovies like fish, tinier than the Belonji(Silver fish) ..... It was deep fried served in quite sizeable quantity ... crisp and to be popped up in the mouth .... wholly without the need to separate out bones .....Fish curry had a tangy and distinct taste ......and I couldn't resist from begging for an extra bowl of it ...... Ambience is just fine .....wasn't overcrowded as I read and expected

Looking at the reviews and rating, I was quite apprehensive to try this place at first. Gladly, it turned out to be one of the most satisfying food experiences. The chicken was really appetising. Everything on the table was good but the most outstanding plate on the table was the vegetarian Thali. Would highly recommend a visit!
Quality and Taste was good. On time delivery. Con is soooooo less in quantity even though the price is high compared to other hotel's...........
We went here for a really late lunch.. As soon as we entered the waiter told us that there was no food and that we should just leave! We were all really hungry and asked him if there's anything they had.. I went here with my family and my sister was pregnant at the time.. The manager came and told us that the meals are there.. But not all the things are available and we were just fine with that!
They came out with semi meals.. The food was okay.. But the fact that they still gave us food was just amazing..
Will hopefully go again and this time not oddly timed :D
This is not a review for the food but a note of thanks for the service they provided on 12th of Dec, 2016, the day when cyclone Vardah had hit TN. Food was not available anywhere and also no one was able to get out. Even none of the hotels in Sholinganallur were accepting orders through Zomato except this hotel. I ordered noodles for lunch and to my surprise the order was accepted by them. Though the delivery happened after 2 hours which is completely understandable given the weather condition. They never said we cannot deliver. Even at that adverse condition the food was well packed and hot. Thanks for this awesome service. You ensured I don't go hungry.
I have been to Ponnusamy hotel so many times . The hotel in sholinganallur is always close to my heart . I went there last Saturday with a Friend and we ordered Prawn Briyani and American Chopsy . Both were so good . I personally like the flavor of Prawn Briyani . It was amazing . The price is so affordable.
I bet you will like the food there with the typical tamil Style .

Ordered mutton biriyani from here for the first time through zomato. The food was tasty, mutton was soft and chewy- just how it is supposed to be. My order was delivered at the correct time. I liked the rice of the biriyani especially. It was not too fried and did not have too many spices in it. Just the perfect amount. You can definitely try this place.

After 4.5 years I am visiting this hotel. I ordered non-veg meals, prawn fry, fish fry and omelette. To my surprise the taste was really good except for omelette because they did not add salt. I will try this hotel once again to check the taste consistency.
This hotel is near Vivanta, saw reviews which were not good.... but this hotel food was tasty and the quantity is too much to eat for one person, ordered mutton fried rice and grilled chicken.... fried rice was average but grilled chicken was good
A very good restaurant for non vegetarian food. We do an online order and their packing was extremely good. Their mutton briyani and chicken 65 briyani were the worst dishes today. The others were really good and tasty. So please do not try their briyanis.

In that nearby loction it's a budget friendly and calm atmosphere hotel with comfortable seats and various dished of veg and non-veg menu, Taste of the food is good with decent quantity. You can feel chill with their jigarthanda and feel full with their veg and nonveg dishes. Overall experience is good and peacefull dine in , Their service also good and feels friendly.

We had Parota with chettinad chicken gravy and both the dishes were very good . Parota was nice and crispy. The gravy had the right flavours . Chicken biryani was not good . Maybe it was made in the afternoon and we had gone for dinner .

I tried food at ponnusamy hotel. This is first time. The food is just awesome. BBQ chicken and country breed chicken briyani both are awesome. My friends had a veg briyani and veg platter. That's also good taste. We really enjoyed food over there. They have sofa so up to 6 members can seat at one table. Good air conditioning and rest room also available. Sweet beeda is complimentary.

I have tried Karu soru and Prawn Biryani here and that's really a Top notch especially that Kari soru which is so authentic. Ambience is Good. Service is better. Cost wise it's bit high and if you feel it's high, think the Quality of food and it's reasonable then. Try Kari soru once bcos it's too good when I visited here.
