I was in chennai for a month an half and the best food I have had was this place since I was alone I ordered their thali meal which had everything I have to say the Dal Makhni was tempting and super yummy!! I am not sure how the restaurant is in looks and all but one thing is for sure the food is AWESOME!
The ambience was good, wouldn’t necessarily it’s the best though. The food was really nice, the chaat was amazing. Vegetable fried rice, prawns, egg, tawa fish, chicken lollipop and Kebab, all were cooked very well. I personally felt the cutlet was mediocre. The vegetable soup was really nice.
Decent place, good variety of food but not extravagant, economical, good service, there r parking issues since the road is very small and too many restaurants next to it.

Coming to the food, it was a buffet, obviously where welcome drink, soup and starters get served to the table. They also have live counters for chaats and jalebis, which again get served to the table. Just the salads, main course and desserts are of self service.
WELCOME DRINK was a refreshing water melon juice..
I love chaats. Any and every chaat. We also ordered for a plate of PANI PURI which tasted great and dahi papdi chat was ok, because i don't like curds in m chat personally but my friends enjoyed this..
soup was served to the table i enjoyed the veg soup than the non veg soup... some how bith were different from each other.. and was good.. since its buffet no one is going to stop u from trying both..
now coming to the starters.
the panner was soft and well cooked.. totally loved it.. the mix vegetable Manchurian was great.. veg rols was also good.. in non veg starters i liked the fish started and the tandoori chicken kabab was good...
we moved on the main course.. the spread was quite decent.. the biryani tasted good.. before moving on to the desserts i had lots of curd rice..
and for desserts we had enough of jelebies.. it was well done..
over all a good spread and absolutely value for money ..

We accidentally chose Zaica for our dinner, but the taste surprised us in the positive way & price on the other way ;-)
Highlight of our dinner was Zaica's Spl Tandoori Chicken, which made us to buy 1 more as takeaway.
Briyani & Bharwan mushroom was equally tasty.
Hospitality & Ambience was good, but they could think about their prices to bring in more customers.

Authentic Indian food with really good choices.
The starters were good and the main course was also excellent.
The only disappointment was the desserts which were not upto the mark

A really good North Indian restaurant in gopalapuram. Love their vegetarian tandoori platter. The brass are very soft. The only thing which is disappointing is their fruit salad.

Zaica which means taste is a lucknow based restaurant on cathedral road opposite to stella maris college, the restaurant is faithful to its name the food served there and the service provided by the staff there is really excellent.
There is a lunch and dinner buffet which has a vast range of delicious dishes to choose from, chat items are also available.
They even have parking area.
Food is great... The spice part is balanced. In the starters... Fish was delicious.... Tender and juicy,👌👌 Chicken was a little bit on the spicy note for me but not excessive. The buffet also has a lot of options and the dessert range is also pretty impressive. The jalebis are to die for... 😋😋😋
Overall great ambience, good experiance and impressive service!! Will definitely visit again.....👍

Well have been always seeing this place,while passing through Gopalapuram & wanted to visit there one day & I guess that one day was this Saturday.The name itself suggests that its a North-Indian food restaurant & wanted to try this Zaica.First things first..its very approachable,Ambience is ok,Service can be better,spread was very justifiable,for the reasonable rate.But after seeing the mediocre main menu & desserts,felt, should have had a lot of the starters,alone.Starters for this rate was awesome..especially the Schezwan chicken,Sheek kebab,Schezwan Manchurian,Mutton Kofta kebab all calls for a repeat mode..Salad bar was very mediocre,nothing to rave about.There was a chaat item,that was different.Ordered a Blue Lagoon,which was refreshing during this summer.Apart from that there was a mango juice.Main menu had Chicken Dum biriyani,Chicken curry,Prawns curry as Non-veg items & had a lot more Veg dishes..mainly,Veg noodles(tasted like plastic),An attractive & tasty green veg pulao,A mixed hongkong veg sauce or curry,dal curry,paneer curry,channa masala,..didnt see rest..not a vegan..😋 the greatest disappoint came in desserts...NO CHOCOLATE ITEMS...not even an ice-cream 😢😢😢😢😢..that itself spoilt my day.. I have been here for family get together today. It's good place. Food is good. Starters are woww really I never expect. Spreads is quite decent. Ambience also good. But service is very slow no proper response. We have to ask all we need like spoon, water, tissue.nothing on table. Overall I can recommend.
I have visited this place alot of my last 4 years. Worth to spend cheap money on buffet here. Cannot expect much on sea foods but worth to visit and eat when your running out of money and carving for buffet.
With their location they are placed and the buffet which they serve is very affordable. There are delays while serving up the starters. But as long as the taste is good sometimes it can be adjusted.

Food is worth the money spent. I don't see much seafood varieties in here. I've been visiting each and every month here and the starters combo remains the same. It would be better if they work on more starter combo varieties.

Lunch buffet. Priced at 480 per head, the choices were nothing extraordinary. Couldn't find anything that was exceptionally tasty or unique. Starters were pretty good. there were no drinks on the buffet.The chicken salad comprising mainly of cabbage was stale and the cake in dessert was dry and seemed a bit old. Service was good. Me and my family had dinner at zaica restaurant. Loved their food It had great flavors and tandoori staters were awesome . Jalebi were fresh and so hot . Really enjoyed the food. A must visit.
Near the flyover at cathedral road could be a tricky spot if u miss to go beneath the bridge. Parking is a challenge but valet is available
It's a buffet of mainly north Indian dishes . The taste is good and it's aptly priced . Some items - the side dishes dont appear to be fresh but its my opinion.

This place had the best taste of mughali food. Me and my friends went for a lunch out here. As it was a saturday we decided to reserve and go. The restaurant had a complete mughal look.
The restaurant had a wide range of starters. The non veg starters looked mouth watering😋😋. The food had THE PERFECT mughlai taste with correct amount of spices. The dessert covered all Indian sweets along with icecream❤️. Never miss hot jilabi here😍.
The people here welcomed us with a warm smile and that hospitality continued throughout.😊 They had full patience in serving us all the food that we asked for.
P.S: Everyone better go with an empty stomach😋
That was a monday eve!! Planned to celebrate my frnd's bday🎂. V preferd 7-9pm buffet. Unfortunately my bday frnd came very late😟😔. But these restaurant ppl wer so polite nd gave us extra tym to dine in unlike by other hotels, wch was v never expected !! Though items wer few, taste was ok- 3/5 ambience- 4/5 service-4.5/5. Specialising in tandoor and Chinese 😊, This place looks small from the outside, but it's real huge once you enter ☺️ There was a buffet option for the weekend, but we chose the ala carte 😅
The food was lip smacking 😍 delicious 😮 We ordered a mutton soup, a tandoori chicken starter, butter and cheese naan and mutton gravy 😍
Everything was just amazing 😎 The meat was very well cooked, delicious flavours, cannot really find faults with anything 😌

Zaica - ambience was really good. Taste of food was great especially lemon chicken and mint fish, but their main course dish was not up to the mark. And the time taken to serve the food was also little late. Apart from that, it s a really good place for team dinner.

This place has been recommended to me quite a few times but I have somehow managed to pick another place over it and thus, never got a chance to relish the flavours of Zaica. With a clear mind of heading to Zaica this time around, my expectations were slightly high and they lived up to it pretty well.
Location - just before the Cathedral road flyover towards your left if you are approaching it from Gemini flyover.
Ambience - we were the only ones occupying the restaurant but to be fair to them, it was well past 10 when we entered the place. Lots of neat woodwork and separate sections with a couple of tables each is how the setup of Zaica looks like. Seems impressive with the chandeliers and those fancy royal mirrors but I'm sure it can be made to look a lot more classy.
Staff and service - since we were the only ones dining in, they made sure we were taken care of well. Food is brought in at an alarmingly quick pace. What I particularly liked about their service bit was their manager asking us whether he should bring in the main course as we were about to finish our starters. Whole bunch of restaurants commit this error of simply bringing in the dishes irrespective of the fact whether the customer wants it to be served immediately or in a little while. Full marks to them regarding this aspect.
Food and menu - directly asked them for their recommendations and they were quick to respond.
Starters:
Bharwan mushroom - the menu reads mushrooms stuffed with spinach, cheese and chatpata masala but all you can taste is mushroom and cheese along with the masala. Too much of cheese sort of kills the taste here so they need to look into that. And also the quantity of this one. There were hardly 4-5 tiny mushrooms which I feel is miniscule in terms of quantity.
Lahori paneer tikka - succulent and tender paneer chunks, cooked properly in tandoor and well prepared paste for marination are aspects they've taken care of in the best manner possible. Better marination to make sure the taste seeps into the cubes is something they need to improve upon.
Main course:
Paneer badaami makhani - I'm not too sure what they meant here by badaami but there certainly is no trace of almond based gravy. If they were to rename it as shahi paneer, then it would be perfect because that is exactly how it tasted. Thick creamy gravy along with soft and small paneer chunks is what we were treated to and it carried a lovely flavour to it.
Dal peshawari(makhani) - I tend to judge a Punjabi restaurant by the flavour of its Dal makhani and I hate it when it doesn't turn out proper. This goes into the top 5 places of the city serving Dal makhani in its most authentic manner possible, according to me. One spoon and you realise it has been cooked for long hours which not many practice but is the actual way of preparing this surreal dish. Thickness, consistency in taste, boiling extent of the lentils and the quantity of butter are paramount and they take care of it all. The only addition possible is of kidney beans. Brilliant is all I can say.
Breads:
We ordered for garlic naan, tandoori roti and roomali roti to accompany the other dishes. Tandoori roti felt like a lot of wheat flour had been used which is always a good sign. The other breads were exceptional as well.
We ended up paying 1453 and I feel the quality of food justifies the price tag although there is still room for improvement.
We went for a wednesday team buffet which cost 473 net (veg and non veg). All the starters were really good, but the main course is something needs to be worked out by the management. The service is also really good.

Hence i ve booked in groupon. ambiance was good. first they served papad and started with starters. chicken,fish,panner,gobi was good. minimal starters only. small samosa i liked it very much.fish was awsome.then maincourse like briyani,naan,prawn,egg masala,fried rice etc...i din try everything...was done with starters itself. then gulab jamun and jelebi was the highlight ! overall its value for money !

Opted the lunch buffet at Zaica which is undoubtedly, what we Indians call, paisa vasool! It's been two years since my visit but I still remember the distinct taste. All the starters were good, especially the soup, sev puri, aloo and paneer tikka which we had multiple times. The chicken starters were also tasty. The choice of dishes in the main course was widespread. Unlike other buffet places, this restaurant offered freshly-made, hot and crisp Jalebis which were absolutely delicious. I felt that there should have been more desserts. It had the usual, gulab jamun, halwa, ice-cream, fruits etc.
The service was great with the waiters making sure you have everything you want. All in all, it was a pleasant experience at Zaica.

Our gang of 8 Visited Zaica today , not much of parking space but you have valet parking. the tables were ready and it was like a private accommodation which was good. 3 veg starters samosa,baby corn Manchurian and a paneer starter. Samosa and Baby corn tasted great. 3 non veg starters Chilli Chicken, Tandoori chicken and Fish fry all tasted good. Tandoori chicken could have been better.
Non veg main course you had chicken biryani, egg hariyali , prawn masala and chicken gravy. prawn and egg very very good. Biryani was good nothing to complaint
tired only Curd rice and Bindhi masala from the veg section. Bindhi masala was excellent with Roti and curd rice
Deserts - Gulab jamoon, coconut burfi, punjabi karma ,ice cream and cut fruits. Very limited and OK ish
Overall - A good and a decent economical buffet
So it was my final lunch at chennai & zaica didn't disappoint me at all..We went for buffet & more than the maincourse I liked the starters..Paneer tikka was the best & malai kofta was great too..Desserts could have been better..Overall it was a nice experience :)
I visited the place along with office colleagues for a team lunch and tried their buffet. The soup was a big let down although the veg starters were good. They gave a paneer tikka, a beetroot kebab and chilly baby corn all of which were fresh and tasty. The main course had typical buffet items and had nothing outstanding to write about. There were several dessert options and hot jalebis are worth mentioning. Overall for 399 it was good and could be good choice if u r treating a large crowd.
The buffet places are usually a bit expensive to begin with. This place is on a slightly less expensive side with decent food spread to offer. Worth a try if hunting for cheaper buffet options!
Was there with friends recently for dinner buffet. I bouight groupon coupons. Good food. Starters were bit oily. Gravies were all right. The star was the "Dal Makhani" . It was one of the best .. may be better than Peshawari..

I have tried the buffet at this hotel and it was decent. However the sign boards that they use for advertising is highly misleading. They original rate for the buffet is 580 inclusive of tax. The variety of veg starters is very minimal. The non veg they serve here is too good especially the fish and chicken. The main course spread is decent and the desserts are also good. The jalebis are freshly prepared and served hot. Overall the food is tasty and its worth visiting this restaurant.
I'd recommend their buffet. Quite pocket friendly. Easy to hope over for a lunch as it's centrally located, easy to spot. Their food is decently good and lighting is perfect. I wish their service was a little faster. Otherwise, zaica is quite the place to be for a decent fulfilling buffet :)

I went this place on a lent day, so this review is not complete as its only about the veg i have tried on. We went as 4, 3 non veg and 1 veg. I actually enjoyed my panner, aalu tikkie, and the baby corn starters, the panner had a bbq taste and it was pretty good. The baby corn could have been better. The soup was just ok, no further comments. Next was the main course where they had butter naan/ roti which the size is small comparative to zaitoons or seashells. The sides include panner again, potato dish and daal. So its all about 2-3 dishes but of variety outlooks and taste. Dessert they had jalebi, halwa, icecream, peda and few fruits.
Overall i must say the buffet was just like 1 could make at home on the aspect of varieties.
The waiters were polite and patient and make sure you don't sit at the last table on the extreme end, A/c not working.
On the other side, i believe my other 3 friends have enjoyed the VFM. From fish fingers to chicken biryani.
Will visit this place one more time for the non veg menus.

Zaica can be told as the cousin of zaitoon and sea shell. It serves really good tandoori dishes. Their special chicken tikka was the only thing j tasted when I visited here and I totally enjoyed it. Kudos
