ID is known for serving quality South Indian food and they continue to do so around at all the branches. At first glance the prices look slightly over priced but the moment the food is served we realize the prices are justified. They maintain their high quality food along with great taste. Tried out their South Indian meals and it was on of the best meals I've eaten in the city.
Nice place for a good breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning. Karuveppalai idli with crisp karuveppalai leaves was good. So was the ghee roast. Podi thattu Idly was a tad spicey and could have been better with little more ghee(per my teenager kid). Medhu vada was hot and crisp. Sambar and accompaniments very good
Coffee was good, could have been a tad stronger. One MUST DO is to use a smaller cup for the mini(100 ml) coffee instead of giving half a cup in the larger(200 ml) mug. From a comfort and presentation perspective it would have been nice

On a Saturday morning was craving for some idli's and saw ID was opened as I was passing through, I stopped here for my breakfast. Ordered Karuveppilai idli, Pesarattu and Pongal. As usual the food was good and the service was also good as we were the first customer.
This is another gem of a place. Not much of variety but the ones they serve are super delicious. My personal favourite are the sambar Idly and the ghee dosa, both these dishes are super delicious. The dosa is really crisp and tasty. I have also tried the onion uthapam here but I didn't much like it. It was a little rubbery. So this is definitely worth trying if you are craving for South Indian food.
Been waiting to try ID since a long time. Finally gave it a try this week. Trust me..It's a must visit place for those who enjoy authentic south Indian dishes. Seems like a bit expensive from outside but actually it isn't. Good thing is that they also accept #zomatogold

This week I and my friend went there for breakfast, while waiting for him I ordered the filter coffee 200ml, its good, one huge drawback was so hot it took me 20 minutes to have it. Then once my friend arrived I ordered for sambar vadai and he went with normal vadai and both of us with 2 plates of rava idly and then finally rava kesari.
The sambar was too pungent. And then the rava kesari was very dry. And the table where we sat it was damaged they should repair it. Not a good one to dine.
The staff are kind and responded perfectly.
As of with the ambience there is proper comfort and spacious. They might need to do some changes in their washroom. Happy for a parking space.
If you could change the taste aspect of the sambar it will be very helpful, not all people can digest pungent and spicy foods.
Rava kesari has to be made in a way it can be digested and easy to eat, it was 80% dry.
We did have a good hour at the restaurant.
One of my favourite place for celebration, just love the ambience, good taste, superb service👌 the only drawback is the food gets cold faster, need to do something about it, like serve in casserole etc
Myself and a friend chose this place for a south indian experience. Located on Harrington road, this place is located nicely with parking up front for cars and along the sides for bikes.
Looks were deceiving, because we thought this would be a small outlet but on entering, it was a nice spacious place.
We had Onion uthapam , Ghee dosa, Mysore masala dosa and onion rava dosa here. Ghee dosa was super yummy. Onion uthapam and onion rava dosa weren't as salty as we would've liked them to be. They had three chutneys and Sambhar to go with the dishes.
The service wasn't good to be honest, they were blunt and in a hurry, though the place wasn't really full or anything.
The bill came to ₹410, so I would say this place is on the pricier side and the taste needs to be much much better to justify the price. Okay-okay experience.
Had ordered Thattu idly n Pongal from here . Must say they have one of the best Pongal I have had , especially their sambar was too good , their coconut chutney is kinda spicy . Felt like they empty one packet of Podi on each idly cause the quantity of the Podi is just way too much that it starts giving me a scratchy head , apart from excessive Podi idly was nice, soft and delicious.

First hand experience visiting ID joint in chennai last week... almost ordered everything on the menu and starting with vada dipped in Sambhar with onion sprinkled over. Followed by dosas, pudi idli upma, kesari bhath.....had all this that too with a full stomach.... all of the stuff was authentic southindian fare but surely would have cherished more with a hungry empty stomach .....next time ...Will give a try once more...

After 3 months returned to ID for Pure Veg unlimited Thaali & was there before 1.00pm, well in time to enjoy the delicious wholesome food. Becoz last time reached there at 2.15pm it was a sunday was informed by management, meals over, again today after meals at 2.20pm saw lot of guests being returned due to non availability, management never learn, persons me like do not want to go to ID main at Satyam Cineams just for food, parking hassels, & since i stay in central chennai will not drive all the way to ECR, so my take want a sunday veg meal at ID Chetpet reach there by 1.00pm,hope the service & availability of meals on sunday issue is addressed.

A regular here and just for the mushroom masala dosa and mini meals. The mini meals is delicious. The sambhar rice topped with loads of ghee is completely mouth watering and so is the curd rice served with kollu thovaiyal. Other varieties of dosas are also good. However the fresh juices and buttermilk are pretty expensive.
I always do love to dine in at ID . You can experience great ambience and wonderful hospitality over there. Been to chetpet ID for the first time . Location was easily accessible, since it was located nearby by lady andal school . There was enough parking spaces out there . Coming to food , ordered a meal which was damn good asusual . Then had a coffee , sweet pongal and dosai ! Everything was fine , this restaurant offers zomato gold . One thing which I was not satisfied with is there service . Service could have been better. Apart from that , this restaurant was absolutely fine . ❤💯

Went for dinner after work. This is my first time at ID. Ordered a roasted garlic dosa, medhu vada, and rava kesari. All of these dishes were absolutely delicious. Rava kesari was the winner. Will definitely visit again with family.

ID on Harrington road has become my go to place for my evening snack. I keep frequenting Chetpet and just cannot leave without stopping by here. Love their keere vada, mini podi idlis and their garlic dosa( its overloaded with garlic , try only if u can take in so much garlic ) . P.S do not leave without having the coffee . It’s epic 👌

ID has managed to maintain consistency in their fares. Right from the time they opened in Satyam cinemas, I have been a fan. One lovely rainy evening we decided to got here for dinner. I'm happy to report that it was such a wonderful experience.
The ambience is just like their other branch - functional with a live kitchen. We sat overlooking the rain soaked Harrington road, but there was seating inside too. The service - right from the cashier to the waiter - was superb. Felt right at home. Ambience - 4/5, service - 5/5
The food was sumptuous, tasty and affordable. Their rava dosa came as delicate as a lace and it was divine with the chutneys served on the side. I loved their Mysore masala dosa too. It was very tasty and different. I thought their rava kesari was a bit too sweet, but their yummy thattu idli and coffee made up for the kesari. 4.5/5
Price wise it is slightly expensive. But we've come to expect ID to have a certain price range. They make the ubiquitous dosa joint look very hep and Uber. I'll definitely be visiting again. 4/5
I have always felt ID might be expensive for a normal south Indian cuisine served but once I stepped in and took a word of the roasted ggaarlic dosa, I decided this is my go to hub for south indian choices.
Love the thatte idly, choice of dosa, Roose milk and nnari shabath and the coffee is just splendid.
I am a hardocre coffee critic, and this place is easily the best for filter coffee in our city at the moment in comparison to the legendary brands.
Hygeinic, clean and extremely warm hospitality. Do try the keera vada, thatte idly, garlic dosa and parota/iddiyapam /aapam with kurma.

Good place for South Indian food...quality food, good taste, clean place, and excellent service are a few things to highlight. Prices are high and similar to Sarvanas n Sangeethas...we pay same in these places (sarvana n sangeetha type) for bad service, decent food (south), and brash staff :)...time to move on to places like IDs n Eating circles.

The food is mind blowing and one can really feel the love of South Indian food here. Very nice ambience with always a decent crowd of people. The service is great and very affordable for the tase they are providing. The sambar,l and rasam should be tasted which was amazing here. With heart filled reviews I’d say this is worth every penny you would try for!

We've come here over five times in the last three months, and the service has been exceptional each time. The food is consistently delicious, and my brother comes here simply to eat the Thattu Idly. Enjoyed my Sunday breakfast with my family here, prompt service by Mr Ramesh, and as usual food was great, especially to mention their garlic dosa which I have not had earlier, it turned out to be one of my favourite.
I honestly believe that Mr. KRISHNA can and will make this restaurant one of the Top restaurants in the city in just a matter of time.
Absolutely Wonderful Service irrespective of the fact that the Restaurant is fully packed on weekends. It's very much evident that Stewards are wonderfully trained to perfection.
Beautiful Ambience and reasonably fast service by the staffs. Food tastes great particularly Roasted Garlic Dosa and Vadacurry.

It’s my favourite place to have some nice South Indian cuisine. I was happy that they had opened it in Harrington road. The ambiance is the usual ID theme.
The food was nice. We had Upma , podi idli and Vadacurry and all that we ordered was yummy and was served hot.
The only complain was because is an open kitchen it does get a bit warm inside and the AC was not adequate. Plus it’s summer so it was a bit uncomfortable.
Over all the food was great so that kind of made up for everything else.
Finally a fine South Indian restaurant on Harrington road. Not new to the city, serving inside Satyam for years. I probably am a little biased because of its live kitchen. Ambience - just fine, beats most of the vegetarian restaurant chains in the city. Limited menu. As the name says Idly Dosa and a few other options. But, the show stealer was the Kasi Halwa. Amazing super soft idlies. Keerai vadai was pretty good tooo. I shall not recommend Cheese Dosa : not-so-great. Service was brilliant. Happy faces definitely adds to the taste! :D

Food is very good and they take lot of time to Serve some of the items in the menu where not available. North Indian food was bit average and South Indian was good. Wheat Alwa is a must try desert. And they provide butter milk in a mug so beware.
Here gold dosa is famous in Chennai.where as I got to know that it is only available in dasara.where as I ordered garlic naan and panner curry.garlic naan tasted good but little hard.everything seems to be little expensive but some tastes too good.But the salat isnt that worthy...
Good Food with delicious taste and very good ambience and expensive to your pocket. However table service not so much impressive.They are not attending guests requirement and surprisingly it was not crowded.

KrishnaVillasam, one of the best restaurant in Chennai. We Dine-In here late night with our friend and found this place so good & taste wise they serve amazing food. Their authentic taste of Southindian and Northindia makes me feel so happy. After visiting here, I can say in Southern part of India one can have a taste of Northindian dishes.

Service levels continues to plateau at disappointing, no surprises there. At the current rate, may not see 2019, sadly. It has the potential to be in the top 50 restaurants in Chennai.
