For the rooftop experience @anna Nagar head to High on grills. Located near near roundtana, it's a unique experience to dine under the stars. Our server Lucky was very attentive and kept the dishes coming in at a rapid pace. Great for hanging out with friends for drinks and a relaxed meal.. has a screen that plays music and sports.. food is prepared and served at a quick pace and is is hygienic and neat. They give a cute array of dips in shot glasses which is very appealing. Do give this place a try for a unique experience.

It's a wonderful weekend evening at this rooftop place. The decor sets the tone for your dining and the ambience adds to it. It's a feel good place especially when the weather is kind enough for you.
Coming to food, we ordered hog prawns, Peri Peri chicken tikka, mangalorean chicken tikka, lemon soda and rabri. The sad part is that none of the mocktails were available. They serve liquor too. So it's a high on for those who booze especially around live screenings and high music.
The food was really good. All the tikkas had a unique marination unlike other places. I personally liked the mangalorean tikka. Prawns were good too. It had an in house speciality to it as claimed by them. Peri Peri was too spicy yet good. The spiciness forced to order us a dessert which was rabri and was okayish.
Overall it should be wonderful evening with a beautiful ambience to anyone who enters. Few cons are the unavailablity of mocktails and the servers need proper tutoring to communicate. Quantity and variety needs to be improved. Otherwise a feel good place.

We ordered Malai chicken tikka and a whole grilled pomfret for starters. Perfect is the word. A touch of lime and your grilled fish would leave you the happiest.
For mains we ordered chicken tikka masala with butter Naan. This was the best curry and naan we have had tasted in Chennai. Cooked in authentic North Indian flavours. A must try.
The service is extremely quick and they are really attentive towards their customers!! The restaurant also has an open kitchen which assures you the best quality of food is been served!!

Loved all the starters and non veg platters. Spicy and tasty grills Iโve had so far. Main course was fine just the the gravy quantity was little less. Otherwise good. Only one disappointment was the desserts. Ice cream was not available ๐ต.

A lovely rooftop restaurant that serves delicious grills and north indian dishes for the stomach and attractive ambiance for the soul. Food was great, and my favorites were the lahori chicken, the best gravy I've tasted!!! And the malai broccoli was mind blowing. Tandoori chicken was aromatic and flavorful. Their mocktails will leave you astonished for they have a variety of them tasting absolutely great. Totally its a great hangout place for friends or a lovely place for a date too.

A rooftop restaurant was the only thing that was missing out in Anna Nagar and now even that's been sorted out thanks to high on grills. Fresh kebabs and grills along with a couple of cocktails or a beer on a Sunday afternoon would be the perfect kinda day and you could enjoy such experience that in high on grill.
The food over here is just great and especially the starter are a must try. The seafood starters are the one's you should go for cuz only very few restaurants get seafood right and high on grills are just great in making some amazing seafood. And also not every restaurant gives much attention towards the vegetarian side but high on grills has done an amazing job when it comes to the vegetarian menu as well. I really loved sheek kebab which wasn't overly spiced and also had the perfect texture. The red snapper is a must try over here for its perfect marination and also meat cooked to perfection.
Overall this is a restaurant that you could visit to chill one Sunday brunch or take someone on date too.

One of the good rooftop spots we have in chennai and particularly in annanagar. Food is decent but quantity is a little lesser which can very well be convinced with the ambience and price. And yeah this place serves liquor for people who would wine and dine. One small wish was that would have been better if it had a partial covered area.

Their highlightis the Broccoli kebab. That was perfectly coated with cheese . That was totally yum! Must try starter.

My husband wanted to have a drink and good food in Anna Nagar and this was the right place . We order two chicken starters ( Achari Murug and mangalore style chicken starter both was very nice . N naan was very soft and the chicken gravy was yummy . Even though I gave only four for food cause very less menu . I would really suggest add more items and good quantity . For friends and romantic dinner this the right place .

Achari Paneer tikka is a delicious starter made with paneer (Indian Cottage Cheese) marinated in an achari (Pickle spices) marinade. The soft and juicy morsels of paneer coated with spicy and tangy masala is a delight to eat.
The ones in picture were really soft and delightful.
With the right amount of achaar spread over it, the paneer dish proved to be irresistible.

high on grills is a rooftop and open air restaurant located in the building which houses gupta bhavan, wokmonk and spirits pub in annanagar near roundtana. they serve charcoal toasted veg and non veg kebabs and have live sports screening in a giant tv. they have enough parking for 2 and 4 wheelers in the campus. we went as a group of 5 and were a mix of veg and non veg. we ordered murg tikka, mutton sheek kebab, chilly prawns, malai broccoli, pomfret fish, crab, tandoori paneer, mushroom. murg tikka was somewhat spicy and salty which didnt go well with us. but we liked the malai brocolli which was marinated with cream and cashew paste and properly cooked to perfection. fish was really good and so were mushrooms and prawns. for mains we ordered romali roti, phulkas, veg jalfrezi, shahi ghost. all were good and tasted well. thr highlight of the dinner was the desserts rabri musafar, coconut gulab jamun and apple phirni. all three were exceptional and tasted excellent.so we went for a second round of desserts. for drinks we got blue sky and spicy girl. blue sky is litchi based drink and was good. cost wise this place is economical and u can enjoy and save if u go as a group of 4 or 5. service was good and the manager explained well about the dishes. i will surely recommend this place for friends and family to get thr experience of an open air restaurant and their kebabs.

In search of a good roof top tandoori place to chill with your friends and family... Then this can be a best and new option for you...
We started with some Masala lassi and Spicy Girl.. personally i liked lassi, its kind of thik chass and tastes perfect for me.
Then we chilled back and tried variety of Tikka and tandoori... And it serves chicken, beef, fish, prawn,crab etc.
It also serves veg tandoori starting from Paneer, mushroom to broccoli.. I personally loved malai broccoli because it was fresh and crunchy and perfectly cooked.
Before i never saw tandoori crab and as my friends told it has very nice taste and favour..
In main course, i tried Veg Jalfrezi which was to the mark, those fresh and crunchy veggies in a creamy sauce did it magic...
We actually tried 3 of there desserts and my personal favourite is Apple Phirni, those small chunks of apple made it more flavorful.. it just took my heart and i will definitely come here again for these...
If we will talk about the management and staff, they were very friendly and graceful... Ask for their recommendations while ordering you can get a better option for sure..

High on Grills is a rooftop ,open air restaurant specializing in charcoal grilled dishes.
The ambiance is magical at night where the entire Chennai vista is spread out in front of you to enjoy in the breezy ,pleasantness of the evening.
I started off with the Masala Lassi which was served in a clay potand garnished attractively with a coriander sprig.
The starters all came in quick succession, Achari Murgh Tikka,Mutton Sheekh Kabab,Parsley Prawns,Malai Broccoli which was awesome ,a whole grilled Pomfret and the showstopper - a grilled Crab.
It was my first time to try grilled crab and though the meat was scanty it had great flavor.
Among the veg starters,the Malai brocolli was exceptional in that the mainade of cashewnut paste and cream used imparted a great flavour and sweetness to the brocolli and the marinade had penetrated right through.
This is a must try dish.
The starters were pretty filling so we just decided to order Rumali Rotis which were soft and thin to have with the Shahi Ghost which as the name suggests was a rich ,lamb curry redolent with spices.
They have a limited dessert menu and as we all were dessert lovers with a decidedly sweet tooth ,ordered all three.
The Rabri Musafar was a thick Rabri garnished with nuts,the coconut Gulab Jamun had the addition of dessicated coconut in the khova mixture and the Apple Phirni which was served in the customary matkas was my favourite.
The garnish of cut pieces of fresh apple contrasted so well with the smooth,creamy texture of the Phirni.
It was a great meal replete with good food great service and the added advantage of dining under the mellow sky.
Now I really liked the ambience of this place....this roof top restaurent was so peaceful to have dinner.....and we went here on a match day....guess what they live stream match or any other interesting stuff on screen....๐๐ Now starters were the best some nv starters were salty but flavour was good....fish was amazing๐ and desserts were too good...
All their mains comes in small portions but price is also less for mains so u can try more....if u want to take photos of ur foods its difficult since it's dark....

Roof top. they have good service as well .Once you enter this space , you can get easily high.
Since we are group of 6, all of them are non veg Veriyans.So that we didn't order anything that related to Veg.They have wide varieties of grilled type dishes and have good beverages too.
My orders
Tandoori ka Baasha:- This spicy chicken cooked in tandoori style and prepared well. Personally I will recommend this dish. I felt rich in taste and meat is really Cooked well.
Tandoori Crab :- First time experiencing this tandoori style crab that too prepared on grills. Crab is perfectly marinated and preparation is also good. As I'm seafood lover, this gives me a different experience.
Tandoori zinga:- Prawns are called as Zinga in hindi. 6 huge pieces of Prawns heated and prepared on grills. Actually prawns need very less time to cook when compared to other dishes.
Beef Sheek Kebab :- This softy and juicy Beef Sheak made my day. This is the overall winner and my favourite too. Must try this.
When coming to beverages, they have very decent beverages for finishing touch.
Spicy Girl:- This look similar like green apple but tasted really good, we ordered again and again.
Buildup Cranberry:- This is a usual one , which has average cranberry flavour.
Watermelon + orange + Tender Coconut:- if you going to try something different , then go for this. I felt watermelon dominating other two flavours in the drink. But this is something different from other beverages.
Finally this is the first roof top restaurant with grilled in Anna Nagar. This restaurant Wil fullfill your expectations and need. They have very good hospitality and service too.

The best roof top grillery in town is now in Anna nagar yeah you heard it right which is near reliance digital which is on top of spiritz bar. They also serve alcohol on request. A fine chilling place for friends and also for couples where they can enjoy their dinner with candle light. There is a huge sports screening great for sports lovers. You can enjoy the lovely city from the rooftop just like the Anna nagar tower which we enjoyed years back.

Wheat paratha , romali roti and phulka with dhal tadka was a perfect combination dhal was made well mildly spiced.
MOCKTAILS we're great for the thirst quench my favourite one was spicy girl. They also had spicy buttermilk with boondis and Curry leaves. Best thing is they use only PAPERSTRAWS.

Located in the Ravilla's tower of Anna nagar west sharing Spiritz pub in the second floor. This is the one and only rooftop grill in Chennai, with ample space of seating with live grill, candle light, natural breeze, city view and live music.
Cranberry and watermelon mock tail were so refreshing enough to start with.
Masala lassi was typically butter milk mixed with kara boonthi with few coriander leaves. Was not good for my taste buds.
Eager to say about the grills served there: All are charcoal toasted ones
Not all grills are about Non-Veg, first comes the few veg options:
1) Achari Paneer Tikka - Rectangular dices of paneer grilled to perfection, the masala was marinated deep inside the soft paneer. Yum yum on the go.
2) Malai Paneer Tikka - Mild sweet and spicy taste of the masala with the cheese topped on the paneer were too good in this one.
3) Malai Broccoli - Was nothing a different in the taste compared to malai paneer tikka, but the broccoli was little overcooked for me.
Now for the most awaited Non-Veg options:
1) Tandoori Ka baasha - Half huge chicken pieces roasted deep enough since the pieces were very easy to cut.
2) Reshmi Chicken Kebab - 8 pieces of soft chicken pieces marinated with a mix of curd, cashew, lemon and spices filled up. Cheese on the top made it so good even.
3) Mangalorean Chicken Tikka - The garlic and coconut taste was bit on higher side, which made this one perfect even.
4) Mutton and Beef sheek kebab - What could I say about this one, the best ones ever I had till now.Both Beef and mutton were smashes so perfectly. Loved it to core.
5) Whole red snapper grill - In tamil its called as sankara meen. A big whole fish was marinated with masala burnt hot, the fish didnt smell odd even. Superb it was :)
6) Whole pomfret - Vaaval in tamil, this is one of my most favorite fish. Again a whole fish on the table.
7) Tandoori crab - Didn't I say something identical. Yesh i even heard the same crab tandoori. It was king sized crab. Full of flesh cooked so perfect and properly. How can i repeat the same....vera level taste.
For main course we ordered:
1) Dal Tadka - Ghee filled dal tadka, so perfect in taste.
2) Chicken tikka masala - This will be choice whenever and wherever I go. This place didnt disappoin me even.
3) Shahi Ghost - I felt the mutton pieces were not cooked properly but the masala was good.
4) Wheat paratha, phulka roti and rumali roti - Sides being good, the couple story worked out well even.
For desserts:
1) Rabri Muzafar - Rabri was filled with pista and badam pieces..the rest is history :0
2) Apple Phirni - The taste of apple was so mild in the pudding served. mild dessert to finish the dinner
3) Coconut Gulab Jamun with ice cream - the sweet was perfect, but the gulab jamun was hard in the inside and the jeera wasn't dipped enough.
I must speak about the side chutneys they serve here which is really the best of this place:
1) Tomato
2) Ridge gourd or Peerkangai
3) Capsicum
4) Mint
5) Onion
6) Mayonnaise
Each chutney had their own specific tastes.
The other thing about this place is they use only paper straws here.
My overall experience about this place: Must try this candle light grill space, they have a very small menu, and they are so keen in giving the right taste to all the food they serve. Great service, servings are even perfect.
Mr. Ilankumaran was the chief chef and the person who owns the place Mr. Bablu I hope so. They were so kind in taking the feedback all by themselves.

I simply love this place for the ambience, especially after 6:30 PM and their taste of interiors. HOG is relatively a new place, but the backdrop has a loads of experience. The have a good choice of mocktails, I liked the water melon + Orange + Tender coconut delight mocktail. Succulent Malai Chicken Tikka, Beef Sheek Kebab, Achari Chicken Tikka and Reshmi Chicken Kebab are fabulous. I am yet to try the others;) Whole Red Snapper is a visual delight and the taste as well. I would have preferred a different style of cooking given a choice. Malai Panneer Tikka was awesome. Tandoori crab is a must try. Choice of desserts are also inviting!
Surprised to see a place like this in Chennai, very cozy with great ambience.
The service was really nice, staff had knowledge of the food, we tried around 4 Kebabs and two mains all were excellent

The ambience is excellent! It's a roof top restaurant with good choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian grills.
