I had been introduced to Ajnabee sweets' jalebi ghatia by a neighbor. The combo - sweet jalebi with ghatia, raw mango pickle and shredded cauliflower is lip smacking. So with great expectations I ordered samosas, vada pav and jalebis one evening. Everything was tasty and heart warming. The samosas had my favourite filling - peas and potato with minimum masala and fuss; the vada pavs had a nice spicy chutney in it and the jalebis were fried in ghee. All in all their food was good and worth ordering again.
My Sunday breakfast ritual and a regular at this place for ages now. Specialises in snacks, chats n sweets.
Hugely popular for their fafda-jalebis which i must say is one of the best in chennai. I always do a takeaway from here. Sundays are crazy and the waiting period can go upto an hour to get the fafdas packed but i must say the wait is worth it. The fafdas can be tried at any of their other branches too n it tastes the same.
I like some of their namkeens like papdi, ghatiya and especially the Special Ajnabi mixture which is a mix of lot of items and flavours. Its a must try item.
Anyone who's looking for fafda jalebis, look no further.
The best sweets center you can find. They have really large varieties which are colorful and delicious. You can also find few hots snacks here which are mostly traditional. The dokhlas are best in hots. I heard that a box with sweets of all varieties of this place, each of one in quantity can be a best present.
#Khandvi #murukkuSandwich perfect taste.. pocket friendly, most of the chaat items available. Jalebi was crispy and taste of ghee in it was awesome.
This place was one of favourite places earlier for evening snacks and sweets. The Paapdi is the best item you can get from here. They have varieties of Khakra. Jalebi and Rasmalai are the good taste here. I persona feel they should bring down the menu prices to attract more sales and customers.
One of the best places to eat ghatia papdi on a Sunday morning , served fresh for take away . Well known place for all the household snacks . Also their Pani Puri is really amazing . Love their Badam milk too .
Lovely place and superb taste and consistency. I have tried this from my younger days with their fountain plaza outlet. Samosa with their sweet sauce is my favourite. While, other sweets and all are also tempting, but restrict commenting from. Health considerations.
Thanks to the restuarant who delivers as per requirement of Jains.
Superb taste
Potato chips was so crispy and onion pakoda quite good
The snacks from Ajnabee always taste good. Now, having delivery makes it better.
Tasty, economical & on time. Thanks
I tried this place through zomato only ,after having my lunch ,I had a craving for desserts ,so I had Google the best places for desserts and came on this place ,which had a decent options for desserts ,they do have lots of North Indian desserts options so you can surely go for it if you are really for some good North Indian desserts, seriously believe me you won't get dissapoint .Had tried for rasmalai and angoori Chum Chum ,which was yummmmmyyyy......ππ.Price was lill higher side may be because of their good packaging container but good and yummy dessert justified it some how.Overall it was good choice to make if you are really craving for good desserts.
Great place with loads of temptation. However after all the awesome.choice, staff handling food without gloves is a put off. A little care would go a long way
The notice about some winter ladoo (forgot the name and couldn't recollect) left us inquisitive and we did try one. I guess it's more of acquired taste and I didn't like it a bit. It was made of gondhu aka the edible gum along with lots of spices which I predominantly use in curries and gravies. Other than this whatever we had were yummy. Dhoklas were soft and juicy and spicy. Crispy palak chat with dahi was excellent. Jalebi was crispy and good. The final touch of lime mint cooler was simply divine.
My favourite shop for north India chat... whatever u order u won't regret for ordering... Chana stuffed pain poori is the best... chennai always has potato stuffed...
Sunday's we usually get jalebis and faafda from here for breakfast. Their jalebis are so crispy and tasty.
Faafda - Is crispy and soft as well. They serve it along with that side dish idk what is that called but spicy and tasty.
My favourite from this place are these two.
I've also had their other sweets which are good.
Prices are same as other places with not much difference.
Don't miss to try their jalebis and faafda. π

This shop is situated in the Dr. Alagappa road, the road opposite to famous Pathala Ponni Amman Temple . Bought a pack of Milk Sweets, Khakra and Dhokla. The taste of Sweets and Dhokla were good and the Khakra tasted great. They are famous for Chats too but havenβt tried yet. Ajnabi Mithaai Ghar is a sweet shop owned by this younger brother, they have branches in Sowcarpet, Aynavaram (near Sayani Theatre) and recently has opened a branch in Alwarpet (TTK Road)

Amazing place for sweets and snacks.
Located on flowers road corner,it is a hub for morning breakfast(jalebi, fafda, khandvi, dhokla etc).Usual spot for Gujarati breakfast .They sell fresh in the morning and have a lot of customers in queues for takeaways.
All in all decent pricing and taste.
Been going this place since college days... Never have had a bad experience, their chats are good for quick bites. Sunday morning jalebis are a must try.
Good option for chaat items. Had tried almost all chaat and liked the taste. Price is also fine for the quality of food served. Can try sandwiches too.
Found this place after struggling for some really good chat. Chat and sweets are moderately priced. The taste reminded me of Mumbai street chat.
The khakhras that i bought there were delicious, but they seemed a little overpriced, and the quantity in each pack was less than what you would get at other places.
Overall a good experience and would definitely keep visiting more often.
Best bhel puri ever had in chennai.
And every friendly staff n a friendly owner named Dev n the all the chats n stuff r jus amazing n hygiene tooβππ
Took rasmalai's from this place. They were decent in size for the price they are charging. They tasted good too. They even serve chaat items for which I'll be returning soon.
One of my usual chat place. Serves some of the best channa chats and dhokla in Chennai which are a must try. ( Channa chats are a bit lip-smacking spicy..so beware.. ). Dahi chats are also good as it will be sweet and not sour like in most places. The spring and paneer rolls are not too good. Some ingredient ruins the taste in it.
Their rasagulla, basandhi are awesome. Mint lime cooler, rose milk and sweet lassi are must try ones. As for the lassi, one should be enough to compensate for half of your meal, as it is super thick.Β Recently tried their masala khakra which was good too.

Separate space for dine in would be very much appreciated as the place cannot accommodate even 2 groups at the same time.
This is one of my favourite chaat places in the city, other and than Gangotree. The Bhel Puri, Dahi Papdi, Aloo Sev Tikki and Pani puri are my personal favourites. The Bhel is slightly spicy but I love the chutneys, sweet and spicy that they add to the chat. The Pani puri is really scrumptious, I love the texture of the pudi. Coming to the sweets, the gulab jamuns and rasmalais are good but a couple of times I found it rather sweet. The sugar syrup isn't thick and very watery. The rasgulas were a little rubbery when I had them the last time. The panneer rolls, spring rolls and aloo cutlets are cheap and some good quick yummy bites. The savoury items that are packed and placed on shelves are all fresh and crisp as well. My favourites being, the chhakli and the friyums.
Nothing special about this ajnabi ..but a seriously good place for early morning Gujarati break fast . They make fresh dhoklas early in the morning . Soo moist dhoklas and their two chutneys make it perfect . They even make fafdas which as good as the dhoklas . They make jilebies in the morning ....mean who eats hot jilebies at 7 in the morning .....surly I will . You got to be totally guilt free in the morning to eat their jilebies . They are even famous for their mothi choor laddu . Filled with fresh ghee . Soo soft and tasty .
Over all a good place for Gujarati breakfast and guilt free ghee filled sweets .
One of the best place to have samosa, Kachoori, mirchi bajji. Their sweets are also really good. When i feel like having a light lunch I opt for their Bhel or dhahi poori. Dining with them for last few years and they don;t disappoint.
Best jalebi & fafda. Nice taste. It's a regular place I used to get jalebi & fafda from here. Chat items r also pretty good... π farsan is also good in taste & good quality maintained. Highly recommended for fafda &jalebi ππ
One of the good place to have a quick snacks . The place is well maintained though small . It is clean & hygienic like Shri Mithai . The quality of snacks & sweets are good and can be had on a regular basis . The Bhel poori , pani poori , pav bhaji & other items are tasty and have good quality . There is life in the food . The other snack items in various chips and sweets are of good quality . Definitely a place you can visit for a quick snack with family or friends .
Such a nice place to buy sweets ! Customer service is good and food served here is also of good quality. My wife and daughter enjoyed this place..
Known for their jalebis, phaphda, dhoklas and savoury items - decided to try it!
And I must say, you get the typical gujju food and truly VFM this place is..
The jalebis and phaphda are so fast moving on weekends that it gets over within half an hour in the morning. The jalebis are super crisp and fresh. They are irresistible. Dhoklas are sooo soft and tasty. The patras are also good! They have a huge display of savoury items, which are good as well.
Tummy khush and it's a pocket friendly place :)

A QUICK SNACK
I tried this place at a late afternoon with my colleagues at multiple occasions in the last month for a quick snack as it was near my workplace. It is located at a very busy street. High chances of missing it.
To start, they don't provide a comfortable space for people to dine, encouraging takeaways more. Pani Puri was tasty, allowing the customer to choose the proportion of spice and sweet. Khakhra tasted excellent( they have MANY flavors). I am more inclined to buy Theplas now. The bread masala sandwich was not heated when we ordered. My colleagues and I also tasted the famous 'Murukku Sandwich' in different flavors, I personally did not like it as all flavors were disjoint, some dividing the flavor of other ingredients.
Ajnabee is a takeaway outlet at it's best. I will return to try more of their delicacies.
Painstakingly prepared sandwiches are awesome here!! Good place for the foodie to explore some authentic sweets and savory from the north!!!
Taste good,and maintains good cleanliness...
Delicious Chaat items. Bhel Puri, Pav Bhaji, Chilli bhajji, Samosa chaat, were delicious π. Vada Pav was good but not authentic like Maharashtrian dish. Paani puri was good. Got some chips and all tasted fresh and crispy. Totally worth the money. The Chaat items tasted the same like how we ate a decade ago. Good and keep it ππ½.

This place has the best fafda & jalebi. As a gujju, this is the first place I would go running to for this combo of breakfast. They serve it hot. The jalebi here are toothsome. Not just jalebi, many more sweets and savories here are awesome. They also serve chat, samosa, khandvi, khaman dhokla. This is the perfect stop to taste gujju snacks.
One of the few places in Chennai ..That serves hot jalebi and fafdas
.

Iam a regular customer of ajnabee in Alwarpet
Yesterday, I had pointed out through a message certain matters and the management was quick to respond and were apologetic besides refunding the amount too
They did not ask counter questions but completely understood the genuine perspective
Such responses from management reinforces customer faith in the brand and this is a good gesture to win over customers
Wish them greater success
The food is delicious and worthy.... But have to wait for a longer time to get the food
Ajnabee Sweets, a renowned and popular eatery store, is a landmark by itself.
It is known for its wide variety of signature items of sweets and savouries.
Hot Jalebis & Fafda are an iconic combo which sells like hot cakes. On weekends, especially Sundays, you should consider yourself lucky, if you are able to pick up a packet or two, before it vanishes from the shelves. πͺπ₯¨ ππ₯―ππ―π₯«

Best Place For chat items In Chennai
Nice items .Taste is fine
The sweet tooth gets satisfied here.
The Jalebi fafda and other Gujarati dishes are to die for .
The bhel puri is satisfactory for the tongue.
The other dishes are a little over priced.
The place is highly crowded on Sunday mornings.
Sometimes the taste of Jalebi fluctuates but the taste is really good.
It's one of the oldest food stops in Chennai.
Very good place to buy sweets. I always visit this shop when I am in Chennai. They have got big collection of sweets, chats and other namkeen items. People over there are friendly. They do good packing, so that you can carry in airport without any problem.
Being regular to this place, they have good and tasty varieties, especially gujju foods. Do try Jalebis.
It's a decent place for chat and sweets. On the main road easy to locate but you may find difficulty in parking. Small place no much place to sit inside and dine. Pick and move would be the best option.
Veg cheese pizza was ordered by us. The taste was good but there's no seating arrangement to sit and have the pizza. The taste was good. The price was 100Rs and it was worth it.
Good In Taste... Jain samosa also available, more or less very good in Kachori , Khaman and Jelebi ...
Best place to have authentic Gujarati Fafda & Jalebi in the morning. Little pricey.
Every Sunday I place order of fafda, jalebi, mouth watering so many sweets savouries item . They make fresh fafda and giving advance token no for next day .I am customer for past may be for 20 yrs very tasty all the food items.
