Cheap and best for authentic kathi rolls made with robust flavours and plenty of stuffing. Place is neat and compact for a nice snack time. We tried Chicken Tikka and Chicken Reshmi rolls, both were delicious. Value for money but the service was slightly slow. Will surely visit again.
I've been to this place many times during my stay in Chennai. Just keep coming back there, because their Katti rolls are definitely different. The roti has always, consistently been, crispyyy. They've never made any of their Kati rolls saucey, so you are guaranteed to come off clean from this place! Coming to the seekh Kebab, my Bengali friend especially wanted to exert the fact that they had a real nice Bengali flavour to it. I just think they could be a bit more bigger though .
Probably one of my most favorite places for katti rolls. This place serves the best katti rolls with sufficient fillings in them well enough to keep you filled for a minimum of 2-3 hours hence.
Tried the paneer tikka katti roll and the Achari paneer tikka roll. Loved them but if I had to choose one it would be the Achari paneer tikka which had large slices of paneer in it which added extra marks for me.

Bengali Katti roll in Chennai!!!... This made me try out this small outlet of bayleaf. The chicken tikka roll was great. Pepper chicken roll was super juicy and even better. Paneer tikka was soft and yum .....though the cost is a bit on the higher side, the rolls are way better than any other roll I have had in Chennai .....
Bayleaf is one that comes to mind when I hear or smell Katti rolls.... Consistent taste and best parathas make this difference...Chicken tikka and Manchurian is a must try.

My recent visit to the city brought me to Besant Nagar (which I make a point to visit every time I'm in the city) and we needed something to eat as we took our stroll along the seashore. My friend recommended we try Bayleaf-on the go, and based on his high praise we obliged.
It is a very small joint near Besant Nagar tennis club or the Elliot's beach police booth if you're at the beach. The place is ideal for takeaways, but there is sitting available if you need.
They have ample choice in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, you can also choose your roll to be whole wheat or add extra egg/cheese/chutney as you prefer. They also had biryani, but we were looking for something to grab and go, so we just tried their rolls.
I tried the double chicken egg roll in a wheat paratha, it was sumptuous and tasty.Β
I would definitely recommend Bayleaf for a no non-sense roll with great VFM.

This place is an alternative for other Kati roll places in Chennai.... Order every weekend from this place... My usual order is chicken egg roll and chicken tikka role.. it has never disappointed me... Taste is consistent... They are very liberal in adding meat in their rolls... A great place especially if you are in a group and want to have a early dinner
Just go for the Gobi Manchurian with cheese and I'm pretty sure you'll love it. Their rolls seem pretty ordinary on the eye, but quite tasty. Paneer Tikka ain't too bad as well.
The go to place for rolls if your in besi. The frankie corner couple of roads down is good but the quality and taste here is much better.. but do keep in mind the prices are dearer too. The wheat paratha option is a good choice for calorie conscious but if u see the amount of oil gng in there you may Not be able to convince yourself that a kati roll is a healthy meal. One thing I did notice was the microwave over right behind the cashier.. maybe not all customers would be appreciative to see their food being microwaved..also the cashier / Manager guy in this outlet is particularly very cold.. maybe a smile is a good start to customer service.. and finally the rolls are good and does the job, though a bit pricey (100 for a veg and 140 for a non veg role and higher if ur doubling the meat /veggies)

Bay Leaf (OTG) On The GO is a awesome concept. On a Sunday evening when we have had a big lunch and do not want to have a big dinner. We walk on the Besant nagar beach and had a roll at Bay leaf. We had the chicken, mutton, egg and paneer roll and all of rolls were made to perfection right in front of our eyes. The Kitchen is open and very clean. The service is polite and quick.

It's a small outlet right next to the CCD at Bessy. Good quality and aptly priced food. The non veg rolls are way better than the veg rolls. Quick service. Do try the mint sauce along with your roll.
It is a small shop on the streets of bessie, but inside they have a big open kitchen and the interior is good with small artefacts. We had a paneer tikka and gobi manchurian roll made of wheat paratha in which the wheat paratha was worth trying. As it is healthy and also taste good. The taste of the stuffings is almost same as the other shops but the quality is good. As it is in the name One shop to take a quick roll on the Go !
This place has opened up recently in Besant Nagar. It serves really amazing rolls. Tried the achari paneer tikka roll, gobi manchurian roll and mix veg roll. Achari paneer tikka roll was the best of all. Mixed veg roll was not so great.
Bayleaf OTG is quite a nice place for wraps and starters in Besant Nagar. They serve both vegetarian and non vegetarian kebab wraps. Their wheat wraps are must try. On my visit to this outlet I tried their chicken tikka wrap and paneer burji wrap along with some French fries. The chicken was cooked to perfection.The wraps had the right amount of sauces and vegetables.

Offlate they have also started serving biryanis.

Situated right next to cafe coffee day At bessie, this place can not be missed. Wanted to check it out seeing the nice set up and Kaati roll boards out the resto was sure to raise a regular foodies temptation.

Tibbs Frankie has been a staple here at Besant Nagar for the longest time. Bayleaf OTG's opening here has put them quite in the shade.
This is a smallish stall near the beach. We usually order home delivery, and that's probably the best option with the limited space.
The achari paneer roll is my personal favorite, though their veg sheekh kababs are really good too. I don't quite understand the 'single' vs 'double' concept, since the double rolls are nowhere near twice as large or as stuffed as the single, but maybe that's just me not being perceptive.
Pricing is very reasonable, even if one opts for the whole wheat wrapping. Which makes sense for what is a convenience food concept.
Overall Conclusion: Ideal for a snack. Home delivery works if you live in the area, but its easy enough to eat if you pick it up and sit on the beach as well.

Food :
Chicken Tikka - Basic chicken tikka. No changes. Good stuff. Had it in a Wheat Paratha for a change. No cheese.
Chicken roll - Flavour isn't same as tikka. More standard chicken curry type.
Mutton Roll - My friend's favourite thing out here. Brilliant stuff
Tip- Get hold of one of the chutney bottles and keep having it with the Roll. Best decision ever.
Its 3.5 and not 4 because of its cost. The taste was actually worth giving 4 out of 5. We had gobi Manchurian roll . It was really nice with lots of onions. Couldn't complaint much on anything. The cost was the only thing we felt to be bit too much for the quantity .
Me, my husband and my father (rwsiding in Kolkata, came for a holiday in Chennai) were walking by the 4th main road, besant nagar. I saw the board BAYLEAF OTG and rushed to the outlet. I had to try the kababs over there. we all ordered a lot of dishes, starting from fish cutlets to sheekh kababs, I must say the food is very well cooked. their packaging is very neat. I wish they introduce biriyani soon.Β
A 4.5 rating is what you deserve, another .5 depends on the Biriyani which i need to try ASAP.

A small neat place designed mostly for take away. There are tables for a quick bite as well . Chicken tikka wrap and mutton wrap tasted good. Will go here once again to try the other varieties of wraps.

Basically its a Bengali restaurant in Chennai. The food quality is great and will meet your expectations. The ambiance is good but not too much high.
The otg on Besant nagar has limited food options and is nowhere close to the restaurant in Gopalpuram in terms of quality and taste. The wheat wraps are a delight and healthy. I wish the sweet options were more.
