One of my favourite restaurant for Chinese . Have been dining here for more than a decade till now I have never been disappointed . I donโt recommend any dishes cuz everything is good . Service is also really good . Always have been .
This franchise of cascade is in Anna Nagar. There is sufficient seating space and I really like the overall decor and ambience. I had ordered the chicken and spinach dimsums(loved the stuffing) , the Lung Fung soup(chicken) which had minced chicken, mushrooms, beans, carrots, lemongrass. Other than the soup I had ordered the pad Thai noodles (with gravy), the lamb bell pepper and veg. Fried rice. My personal favourites from these are the lamb bell pepper(well cooked lamb in bell pepper sauce, can be paired with the fried rice) and the pad Thai noodles. Overall this place has got good service, the food portions are sufficient and it isn't too harsh on your pickets.

Best part though was the portion sizes, absolutely huge. Each starter can easily serve 3 people.
We tried the prawn tempura, Thai chili chicken and vegetable fried wontons. Prawn tempura stood out to be the best.
Coming to the main course, the Thai red curry chicken was big enough to serve almost 4 people so definitely donโt order it alone. Taste was a little too mild but not bad.
Overall, nothing was too brilliant to make me want to go back again and again but a very satisfying experience.

Food Served: Our regular orders include Chilli Beef, Schezwan Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Dumplings. The Chilli Beef was more than great! It was more like chicken than beef because it was cooked SO WELL. Usually, in restaurants serving beef, we get them undercooked or over cooked, making the dish smell weird or appear chewy. The Cascade just blew my senses with the Chilli Beef. The fried rice is of a HUGE quantity, enough for a family of four. Although the pricing is a bit on the higher side, the quantity and quality always has us coming back for more!
Service: The waiters are attentive and sweet. Nothing to complain about :)

Cascade has been my favourite since the time they opened. Went to their Anna Nagar outlet with great expectations with family. We had Hakka chicken / Noodles / Fried rice / Golden fried prawns and vegetables. Perhaps my expectations were based on the experience I am accustomed to from the old days at El Dorado or now at KNK, ( I must mention here their KNK outlet continues to serve out good quality dishes ) but the quality here was a bit of a disappointment. Hope they improve and take their quality a few notches up.
Really really great food and helpful servers! We tried the Golden Fried Prawns and the Pepper Chicken appetizer. Both were excellent. The special Orange cake was also marvellous!

Everything was super tasty. The quantity is huge. Which is great. ๐ The fried rice and Manchurian were a perfect duo. The lollipop chicken was fried then Dipped in a sauce and then topped with that sauce. The flavours were singing a beautiful medley. But the chicken was a bit dry. Otherwise no issues. Delivery was on time.

The best place for Chinese cuisine in Annanagar. Personalized service where they will have the dish cooked for you the way you like it; if you let them know you want it less spicy or more saucy for example. I've been here so many times and tried quite a few from the menu. They have an elaborate menu too. Cascade has so many outlets across Chennai and Coimbatore but the Annanagar one stands out the best for me.
The sweet corn soup, great wall chicken soup, tom yum soups are all good to begin with. Their portions are good too.
Chinese grilled fish, lamb honey chilly dry, chicken lollipop, beef on a sizzler and Dragon prawns are some of my favourites.
The chicken and prawn fried rice schezwan style or the plain one are tasty.
I'm a big fan of their fried icecream and chocolate lychees too!

After about 4 to 5 times of visiting this place . I am writting my first ever review for The Cascade. I happen to visit the place on (26/04/2017), With two more adults and a kid. At around 8.30 P.M the place was kinda empty giving us a soothing, less disturbing surrounding. We placed our orders together at the beggining.We started of with a soup The great wall china soup which had chicken and mushroom tossed in oyster sauce. If you have a kid along i think this would be a good choice giving to its bland but aromafull flavour, the qauntity was quite enormous we just shared one serving. Following which we had dragon chicken, always a delicacy here, Trying this out could never go wrong especially the kids would love it given its tangy sweet and spicy flavour along with roasted cashew nuts. Next came in Foil grilled fish(4 pieces), its basically fish tossed in indonesian flavours grilled by wrapping it in foil paper. The taste was good true to the indonesian flavour but the fish was quite hard,woudnt recomment this. Finally arrived the schezwan chicken fried rice, to me its a must eat at any chinese cuisine. Nothing extraordinary but nothing to find fault as well. The one major concern was the time gap between the arrival of the starters and main course .Being a pakka tamilian we want to have sides with the main course.But by the time we had the rice we were done with the starters.Mention clearly the order at which you would like to have your dishes when you place your orders.And one another problem was the plates, i guess it's time they change the plates not that it was dirty but we could see it kind of stained and the logo on it quite faded , not very neat or presentable an added advice would be to steam the plates before serving it. That could make it more sterile. Apart from these the food was good and truly chinese.

On a weekday we visited this place and was easy to find a parking opposite to this place . The place was softly lighted and ambience felt good . We needed help in ordering Chinese and the staff were helpful in making us choose.
*Crispy chicken parcels* - the outer covering was true to its name -crispy. But I found the stuffing non appetising๐๐ผ
*phuket fish* this was one spicy saucy dish with flavours of garlic and chilli and moist fresh fish. ๐๐ผ
*taiwanese fried noodle* noodles were soft with peanut sauce and bits and chilli. You will like it if you like peanuts ..
*lychee and ice cream * was a normal dessert with vanilla ice cream and tinned lychees ..๐๐ผ.

Located so close to the busy Blue Star Junction in Anna Nagar, finding a parking spot close to the restaurant could be a problem.. Although the restaurant is only on the first floor, the new lifts are so attractive for any one to ignore taking the stairs to the restaurant..!!

For Main Course - Had the Five Color Rice (Egg) and Kung Pow Fish.. Huge portions again especially for 2 of us and had to take away the left-overs.. ย

I have seen this place for quite a period but haven't hit the chance to visit it. Then the day arrived with a bang. I visited this place. Me being a veggie and a Chinese food fanatic was more than happy to explore the options just like kungfu panda with its secret noodle soup. The ambience was great. The menu was overwhelming. Keeping my irons open I left out to the chef to surprise me. So it was chef's spl and I was wondering what I ll get. I was served with mushroom and baby corn pepper fry with extra spice, chef's spl triple noodle (I hope, I am correct). I had the veg soup too. Starting with the soup I was ok with it nothing extraordinary, it was average. I expected Dhoni kohli ABD in my food. But was more than happy with Dravid๐. But when I had the fry baaang man I was wondering what hit me "Dravid transformed to Dhoni" amazing credit to chef and little to me for leaving the chef to send me his choice of dish. First time in my life My mum forgot to share and ate all the baby corn leaving me with mushroom(I think I felt what it was being smurf, having to eat all the mushrooms). I then started with the noodle which was long and soft. The taste and the fragrance which it bought was totally authentic Chinese. I gulped away with my noodles before my mum finished with the baby corn. I was happy contented to have eaten here. But sad for missing it out all these years. Beware Cascade I am gonna visit you often....

Excellent for chinese is an understatement. Very good quantity, priced well and extremely heavy. The take aways are also a considerable option . Manchurian and the fried wonton with scheswan rice is all that one can ask for. Amazing Chinese food.
Food is good. Calamari fry was excellent.. we kind of over ordered. I wish management was a little more suggestive about the food and quantity.. other than that all was good.. careful about the spice though because even chicken pop corn has chilli flakes.. sensitive stomachs have to be a lot more careful.

After a long discussion and confusion on where to go, we ended up for a family dinner in the cascade.
The ambience of the is dark and cozy. It's like you tuck into your personal space and eat your heart out. The whole atmosphere is soothing and simply zen based content.
Getting on to food ; first and foremost thing is the quantity of food. Make sure you enquire on the quantity before ordering ( mostly they inform about quantity beforehand )

Contrary to expectations the soup was not all that spicy. Could have been more spicy or atleast an option to make it more hot would be better.

The flavor was simply not strong enough to incite the tastebuds. Quantity was sufficient but they could have fried it a little more.

Savory dish - cup shaped small rice papad based dish stuffed with vegetables or chicken as per choice. Served with 4 yummy sauces. Six pieces and serves right as an appetizer. Must try !!

Well this was spicy with a hint of tangy flavor And might I say a little creamy too. Again, ample quantity that serves two

Yet again the spice part expected from the sauce was completely missing. But the noodles was soft and entirely easy to chew.

Location, Delivery, Packing: They have many branches but I went for an online order via zomato from their Anna Nagar branch so I am going to talk only about the delivery and packing. The delivery was on time as promised and proper updates from the restaurant and zomato via message made it perfect. The food was packed in silver foil pouch and no spillage but usually Chinese food is packed very handy that you can grab a bite on the go. And this wasnโt so and you need to run for vessels to arrange them and then start to explore the food. I didnโt have any issues with the packing but still if you are expecting for a takeaway kind of food package then this shouldnโt be your choice.
Taste & Variety: Lots and lots of interesting Chinese dishes and you have plenty of options to choose from; anyways the non-vegetarians will have upper hand. So my order was Spicy Sesame Cauliflower, Veg Ginger and Garlic Fried Rice and Thai Vegetable Red curry. Loved the cauliflower. It was crispy and the hit of spiciness along with the subtle sweetness is a perfect combination for fried rice. The essence of crispy ginger and garlic fills your palate and makes the simple fried rice delicious.And finally coming to my favourite Thai veg red curry, taste wise it was bang-on and perfect with steamed rice. But I guess it was the readymade red paste that was used so the food colour was too much; not the best thai curry I have had in town but neither bad.
Quality & Quantity: The portion size was huge, all the above said was perfect for four hungry fellas. Quality wise, the food tasted good but not sure about the use of fresh ingredients in making of the curry or sauces.
Price: It cost Rs.789 INR (including the tax and packing charge), though the portion and taste justified the price, the pricing seemed reasonable but pricey.For some chinese food love!
I thought of reviewing this place as I have been going here since last many years, but never posted a review, which is an injustice! This has been my favorite Chinese restaurant in Chennai. I have tasted Chinese all over Chennai, but their quality stands out. The quantity served is also superb. This time got a takeaway. The only thing is that it is quite expensive.

Saturday afternoon lunch and turned for some Chinese wanted to try cascade for a long time.. The parking and al needs some serious attention.. It's very cramped
Entertaining into de restaurant it has a pretty decent atmosphere.. The ambience was good ..the staffs needs a mention for their good work..
V begun de lunch with a carb meat soup in hot n sour style ..to our shock they soup arrived in a huge bowl guys here the huge bowl really means a huge one .. One soup bowl cld be enough for four people
Next was de whole prawn momo n crab meat balls they had a sufficient portion for two people
Then was they five colour chicken fried rice, seriously they do serve a huge portions not many places in chennai to serve this huge portion so useless u are 3 people u won't b able to finish it off ..And to go with de fired rice v ordered some beef variety it was too good
Then was the bomb dropped going into the dessert the staff recommendation was de steamed chocolate cake with ice cream ..in de first bite itself it was so bad tat u can't resist throwing up had to cancel it .. Left the restaurant without any deserts to end de meal .. They totally need a complete new menu for de desserts
A decent and classic Chinese restaurant in Chennai. Good food with decent service makes this place a must visit to anyone looking for Asian food.
MASSIVE portions. The first and last thing you will remember about this place. Not to mention the classic Indian Chinese flavors that you know and enjoy. The chicken lollipops are my personal favourite. Fantastic value for money too. Definitely going to be coming back many times more.

I've been here thrice and its a decent Chinese restaurant and its we easy to spot right next to ibaco. This is not all that fancy but it is decent. I popped in here with my friends and the order taking waiter or head waiter was quiet reserved and was not smiling to invite us or anything. He just stood still and we had to go tell him that we wanted a six seater table. Couple of our friends were parking the car and the waiter noticed that we were only three and offered a four seater table completely ignoring our request. He said we could sit at the 4 seater until the rest of our friends arrive even though the restaurant was empty. We were not happy and told him we will take the table for 6. He couldn't argue with us and just stood over us like a statue. Then we our friends arrived and we ordered the fried rices, gravies and Naan. All of them were decent but not great. The gravy was a bit watery but we'll flavored. I would not recommend this place unless you are hungry and dint care about the hospitality or attentiveness of the head waiters.
This place is like my weekly hide out n I absolutely love going back there without regrets ! Their food quality n quantity is unbeatable ! I love the Phuket fish, pepper chicken for the starter with the king fung/ hot n sour soup. The main course is usually noodles/rice with Hunan/ishang chicken( once suggested) by them ! Keep up the good work.

Good food, reasonably priced, their soups are fabulous. Try any of their prawn items it's really yummy, the parking is a bit stringent since it's on the main road.

This is the closest restaurant to my place and we always prefer this place for its quality of service and quantity of portions. I would have come for more than 26+ times to this place and was never disappointed with their service. The Cascade. Situated right on top of Ibaco in the Shanthi Colony main road is one of the "more Chinese than the others" type of a restaurant. Most of the Chinese Restaurants serve Indianised Chinese food. The Cascade is more Chinese that most other restaurants. So its worth a try. The food is overpriced. That's a negative. Other than that, not too much to complain about. Good food.

Cascade is a very old chain of restaurants which first opened its doors to its customers in 1985 or 86. From day one they have served excellent Chinese cuisine at a very affordable costs without cutting on luxury, service and quality. I would not rate Cascade's luxury to 5 star hotels but they are not far from the so called 3 and 4 star hotels in terms of decor, ambience, service and quality of food and don't every think that so many decades of hospitality has taken their sheen. They are still right there competing with the best. They are actually a budget restaurant chain bit they don't make you feel that way.
Cascade has now expanded with number of branches all over the city . I tried the Anna Nagar branch. T is inhey have widened their cuisine range from just Chinese to Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian, Mongolian and Vietnamese too. The restaurant is pretty big and can easily accomodate more than 50-60 pacs. The decor was very nice and warm
I ordered a Hunan fried rice and Thai Fried Noodles. The noodles was a little oily for my taste but yummy. The Phuket fish was very nice and the Crispy Lamb in Oyster sauce was excellent. Chicken Dimsums were not bad, the Chinese Prawns were outstanding . The Cascade food quantity is quite large that I packed the food home.
The service is very decent. They don't go over board nor are they lacking. The food order and time to reach the plate is pretty good. The Ann Nagar branch ambience is very nice and cosy. The only issue I had with this branch is that it is the 1st floor and they hardly have any parking space reserved for themselves. A big well known branch must have thought this out. One will eventually get your parking in one of the by lane abutting the restaurant.
I have no reservations to recommend Cascade . I am sure most of them must have tried but like you I keep going back to Cascade. Well Done ๐ Cascade !!!!

I've known cascade for more than a decade. They have set their own standards. Had Hunan Soup, Salt and Pepper prawn, Spicy garlic chicken and Thai fried rice, everything was really good. Chinese cusine enthusiasts should visit this place for variety of dishes. The portion, taste, service is good.
Excellent food and quick service. They add service change to the bill. There is nothing to write home about the atmosphere. Cost is a bit on the high side, but then it seems to be the norm for these types of restaurants these days.

I have had visited Cacade anna ngr and nungambakkam multiple times. East asian food is the speciality. Taste is awesome but the spiciness is too much for most of us.
Ambience is good. If you are a spicy food lover then it's not for you as the salt and spice in food is less comparatively.
The food service and ambience was neat. A little crowd on weekends.
Food was served with in 10-12mins.

Wonderful Ambience, reminds me of the old Chinese restaurants from the 90s. The waiters were very kind and helpful.
Good and fast service. Must try Fried wontons. And the noodles here are really light and tasty.
A lot of new dishes have been added. The ambience and the service is always good. The Tom yum goong soup and dragon chicken are my favourite dishes in this place.
