Went here with frnds for bday trt always crowded. Asusaual biriyani was served hot and full of flavors.panner butter masala was too gud.special mention for there bread halwa.
Had a great dinner for the day the wholesome mutton biriyani is the king 👑 fully but didn't felt heavy or stuffed felt lite. Before that I had a shawarma which was had no negative comments to tell obviously..

One of the best briyani in North Madras. They serve briyani in a quick span of time in a hot box, nyc business strategy to keep the briyani hot until the whole lot of briyani is completed. The quantity of the briyani satisfies one person. Chicken 65 is pretty good. Even their chilly chicken tasted good to my surprise. The price of the food items is not that cheap or hyped, it's reasonable for the taste. Overall had a nyc experience, definitely will give another visit and recommend to others also.
The Biriyani was too good. I ordered for Mutton Biryani and it was served hot. We can get food all the time between 11 am - 11 pm. Bread Halwa was yummy and we can get it for an additional cost. It is worth for money and budget friendly. They are taking party orders also.
This place serves one of the best Mutton briyani. I also like their SPL. Chicken Briyani and Chicken 65. Try this when you hit North Chennai.
Briyani quantity will be more dhan adequate. They also provide bulk ordering. We usually order food from here for family gatherings. Must try place.
After reading about them I decided to try their Biryani. It did take a while to locate their place, I ordered a parcel for Mutton Biryani and Bread Halwa. The portion was more than adequate, in fact I couldn't eat all the rice, the mutton pieces were plenty and succulent. I would have preferred it to be a little more spicy, but my family loved it. The bread Halwa was indeed out of this world. Only negative point I wish to highlight is the elderly gentleman sitting at the counter taking orders, should be a little more pleasant.

Personally one of my favorite Biryani corners in Chennai during my 3 year stay there. Whenever there is a craving for Biryani, i end up at this place.
Food- i am a big fan of Nizam biryani, with spice and masala on the lower side and taste on the higher, it tastes good. Quantity is apt for a hungry foodie, not more or less. They have a variety of side dish , my favourite is prawn pepper masala.
Ambience- though most come for takeaways, they started a separate dine in a few meters away from the original shop. Not mich to boast of, it is a small a/c eatery with grateful service. Quick service and hot food are the highlights.
Price- i would say its ok for the chennai rates. Though i felt side dishes were little over priced
Availability- its available at most times of the day fresh, which is one of my favourite plus about this place
Would i recommend? Well if youre looking for a tasty biryani meal in Royapuram or takeaway, dont hesitate. For those who want ambience and a grand place to chat away and spend time, sorry this is not your place.

Nizam biryani is one of the restaurants serving utterly delicious biryanis and kebabs in north Chennai. The main restaurant is located only 100 or 75 steps away from the new one. The old restaurant is an non-ac and new one is air conditioning, but both restaurants can hold up to 15 or 20 members. Usually this restaurant is not that much dense in weekdays.

By tasting this chicken fried rice I think I should add this dish to it’s signature dishes. I think this is the only restaurant which is giving more chicken than rice. You can’t able to find where the rice is in that bowl 😂. I can’t find any flaws in that dish I just kept on eating that’s it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
2.Dragon chicken:
I am little disappointed with this Dragon chicken because I think that chicken is kept in fridge and when I start to eat I it’s like a (javvu Mittal)Its so hard to eat. It’s an okay-ish dish for me.
3. Chilli chicken:
Same thing here ! Chicken is hard. Okay !
Service and ambience are good and my suggestion is chicken should be soft and tendered. Coz what I found in rice and starters are too different in fried rice it’s so much soft and in starters it’s like hard as my mom’s idly.
Overall a good family restaurant in north Chennai to hangout with foodies.

There are different varieties of biriyani around Chennai but nizam serves some best of it. Visiting to royapuram negleting aasife & pandias this place deserves it. If u wanna taste superb biriyani & the best part of bread badam halwa visit this place. But the starters would not deserves the price.

Tandoori is the special one here and they provide superb mint chutney to it. Fried rice is good and tasty. Starters are good. Everything is fine except for the biriyani.

Wherever there is biriyani I make sure I pay a visit to the place. The distance, time or price doesn’t matter when the biryani tastes good. So this restaurant is located at Royapuram and all I did was to follow the maps blindly; without any trouble we spotted the outlet and most go for takeaway so we were the only ones dining. They have a separate dining place and for takeaways you can go to the billing place that is right next to the dining spot.
We planned to keep the lunch light so the order was Mutton Biryani, Fish Finger and Bread Halwa (80g small box). The bread halwa is a bliss and you will definitely crave for this beauty; the moist bread just melts effortlessly and the crunch from the nuts along with the essence of ghee and sweetness is mind bogglingly good.
And coming to the biryani, it was very okay and definitely didn’t impress me in flavour. The rice and the meat was cooked perfect but neither the essence of the meat nor the flavours from the masala were evident in the biryani. It was bland and less on flavour for my liking. It was palatable but it didn’t thoroughly enjoy or like the taste. So when it comes to biryani I wouldn’t visit this place again.
The fish finger was a hit; the crispy slices of fish finger tasted right on seasoning as well as they didn’t carry the powerful smell of seafood. The mayo was so good that the combo is yet another must try if you visit this place.
The portion and the quality is good for the price they charge. But somehow I wasn’t a fan of their biryani so I wouldn’t visit the place again. We paid Rs.420 INR in total for the three dishes. The pricing is par with any other dining biriyani place but when it came to the biriyani I didn’t find the price justifiable. A place you may try if you are in the vicinity and not worth travelling for the biryani.

I've been curious to try this place since a loooooong time, but visiting the area was a big constraint. Somehow, convinced my friends and so, a few of us landed up on a Holiday. Nizam Biriyani has 2 outlets - The one near the Ground is the older branch and the other at the farther end of the same stretch (of West Madha Church Road) is a newer outlet. Maps available under their Zomato Page.
Biriyani here is served in a 'Hot Case' (Thermo Dish) to keep the Biryani warm through out. And their Biryani is best only if had Hot, so this serveware kind of makes sense. We ordered both Mutton and Chicken Biryani. Not much of a difference between both in terms of flavour. The Meat in the respective Biryanis were soft, wouldn't call them Juicy but Yeah! It's okay. Biryani was Flavourful, less Irritants, less Spicy, Moist - It had everything to categorise it as a good Biryani. Pretty Decent! Chicken Biryani costs ₹160 and Mutton Biryani is ₹180. The Brinjal Chops was good too.
When my friends ordered Fish Fingers (₹200), I was skeptical of trying it (being Nose Sensitive to Seafood) but to my surprise the Fish Fingers from here was one of the best that I've had. We ended up ordering one more plate. The Tangdi Kebab (₹180) was very good too. Well Marinated and cooked perfectly. Chicken 65 (₹160) was decent.
The star at Nizam Biriyani is their Bread Halwa and so this expedition 😛 would be incomplete without having it. I liked the Bread Halwa very much but after a few mouthfuls it might get overwhelming for not-so-sweet toothed person like me. For a sweet tooth, this would be a prefect dessert. Costs ₹40 for a Small Portion of Bread Halwa.
