Had my lunch from Madras Curry Cup earlier and today's (Friday) special was 'Arachuvitta Meen Kozhambu with Rice'. It came in a plastic packed cup with separate portions for Rice and Fish Gravy in aluminium foil, Vendakai Thayir Pachaddi and Fryums in plastic pouch. The same packed cup can be used as a eating bowl as well.
I regret not shooting a photo, but was so anxious and keen in opening the box and digging in and not realising about a quick photo.
The smell and taste was pretty good. The Fish gravy came with a medium size chunk. My only suggestion would be to increase the portion of the Rice and gravy a little bit more. It might not be sufficient for most of us adults. Apart from that, please make the food available for delivery to Nungambakkam. Had to get it picked up from Nilgiris, Nungambakkam.
I will certainly try their other dishes and I am hoping they would come up with more variety too. I have a better option than Faasos now. My overall rating would be 4.8.

Very excited to have the curry cups, Ordered the Kara Paniyaram with Chicken pepper keema yesterday (Thursday) evening.
The package was awesome and i had never seen anyone like this kind of packaging in Chennai.
Paniyaram was good and chicken keema gets 100/100 marks.
Kudos to the team and I'm gonna taste all the dishes.
Today (13/1/2018) had my lunch (non veg super bowl) its really amazing and the mutton cola urundai is really too good

I had that paruppu urundai kuzhambu after 20 years. Same taste of my grandma. Kozhi varuval is awesome. Poori urundai I am not able to share with any one. Sura puttu Amma seythathu polave. Going to order again and again.

So, the lunchtime bell rings inside my tummy and today's craving was for some authentic TN spicy meal. Picked up this long-lasting place from my bookmarks.
Firstly, this place has a decent parking facility; good lighting which supported its ambience.
Coming to the meal, it was the chicken curry cup with rasam, Madras kozhi varuval, Chicken Milagu Kozhambu, Karamani with white rice for the day.
The cowpeas were good with no spice while the Chicken Pepper gravy was wicked spicy. Though there weren't many pieces in it, it was good trying once. The rasam was typical but in the end, the Madras Chicken fry clearly emerged out as the winner of the day. It was boneless, succulent and had the TN flavour kick in it.
Price wise this place might look expensive but go for it if you love to have an authentic meal in modicum.

Taste wise an amazing place to be.. I ordered parupau urundai kuzlambu and karamani which was just very homely prepared.. Rasam was ultimate it just remembered my mom's rasam.. Nice meal and worth the money.

The concept of this restaurant attracted me ... The startup nature based restaurant.. with the new concept of balanced diet in terms of veg and non veg and a combination of customization is also available.
The ambience is more like a old school recess tables. A good place to have a whole meal in a different way. The staff are totally friendly.

Very satisfying portion size, and the quality of the food was extraordinary for the price that they charge. We tried the chicken curry cup, fried babycorn starter and the parotas. Parotas were nothing special but the starter and the curry cup exceeded expectations. Will definitely be coming back here to try some other dishes.
Good! The best part here is about customising the meal. You have various meal types added sides and curries you can choose by your choice. A meal with a side and 2types of curries at a cost effective price. Becoming a regular customer here for the lunch, since it gives a home made feel. The poricha kozhi is something you should try here.

Verdict 👩⚖️ - Brown rice, mutton korma, chicken gravy and a scoop of lentils. This is a wholesome meal, worth the money, the ambience was great and the manager was super friendly who made great efforts to make the food just right for us.

Complete home food feel...the texture of rice is amazing just like how it is being cooked in home... Their paruppu urundai kozhambu is just divyam... I never used to take Prawns outside coz they don't clean it proper... But this ppl they are doing it just how its being done in home... Open a branch in anna nagar 💗💗💗... Only complaint is quantity of rice is much... Just reduce the amount... So that u can reduce the wastage..

Love the entire idea of this place. Walked into this restaurant yesterday as I was intrigued by how a "curry cup" would be served. If you love home-cooked food and want to relish the authentic spirit of a homely meal, then Madras Curry cup is your best option.
They offer food at affordable price ranges and won't drill a hole in your pockets. They serve tiffin, starters and a wide range of curry cups and super curry cups.
I opted for the "Egg Curry cup". I was served with a big bowl of rice, good enough to fill me and never get me hungry for the next few hours. I had to choose between rajma and green gram for the sides. I opted for Rajma. The next would be to pick the curry. You can choose from veg and non veg. I went ahead with the fish curry and found it really great. Since I had picked the "egg curry cup", I was served with a boiled egg. Pappad and Rasam were given as accompaniments. Apart from this, I had ordered a small cup of prawns.
The total bill was around 280. The service was prompt and the food was lovely. If you ever miss home food, then make sure you visit this place.
Stopped by here for lunch today. After a 2-hour travel and not having anything after 6AM I was pretty hungry. The store was small and clean. I ordered the white rise base, with Rajma, Fish Gravy and Chicken Curry. The food was delicious, especially the fish gravy with mango added in it, had that slightly tangy flavour to it. Only complain maybe that the rice quantity was a bit on the higher side. Maybe an average Indian may eat that quantity, but, for me I had to leave behind almost 30% of the rice. Also, there seems to be some inconsistency in the serving portions, where I overheard the person in the cashier telling the person packing deliveries to only add 4 pieces of meat, when the person packing said "we usually add 5 pieces", the cashier told him that the pieces are slightly larger. In this case, they should make it a point to go on a grams per serving basis, like the rice being 300grams.
Great value for money. Taste was okay, nothing to rave about. But the fact that the meal had 1 vegetable, 1 meat, 1 rasam, 1 kolambu, 1 legume and lots of good quality rice for Rs. 200 was great.
Also from a customer service perspective, they were proactive and called me when one of the items I ordered was not available and immediately gave me a replacement.

We as a group of three opted for Super curry cup.
The one which I added here is a non veg curry cup which includes white rice as base and rajma. For gravy, I chose Fish and chicken. For sides, Chicken and Mutton.
Coming to taste, Rajma was good! Both fish and chicken gravy was bit watery but went well with rice.
The sides chicken and mutton was less hot than expected. If it was served hot then it will improve the taste further.
Rasam was good and went well with papad. You can choose buttermilk or curd for your meal.
Vermicelli payasam was very good. 👍👍👍

There is no plan to visit Madras Curry Cup today.While travelling to Egmore we got this in our eyesight but it was not opened.Luckily while returning it was opened.
After many videos seen in youtube,planned to try here suddenly .Tried Chicken Curry Cup and Idli with Fish Curry.Idli with Fish curry is just ok,Fish curry was watery and not upto the mark(taste).
We used white rice and mutton curry with Poriyal and side includes chicken.First look i thought its not gonna make a good deal but the taste was good and average spicey.
Overall,nice concept and good experience.

I was so into the food and forgot to take pictures...but definitely a very nice place to go .they had both veg and non veg .it's a fixed menu yu just hav to pic the bowl size and get started.
So for rice they had three types normal white rice,brown rice and kolu rice
And for protien they had veg..i had rajma
And then for curry as i had non veg they had all three chicken fish and mutton....i picked chicken curry just the curry...
And for the side dish i picked prawns which tasted awsome just like how my mom does
They also had curd and butter milk.
I also order babycorn fries ,omblette and porichakoli (chicken 65)
Evry dishes will taste just like home food thats a plus because if yur a regular outside eater then probably yu should try this.

Its a small outlet but just 10-15 persons can dine at a time .

We had a Madras kozhi varuval and Egg Thokku meals. We picked one white and one brown rice bowl. White rice with meen kozhambu and brown rice with chicken kozhambu. Meen kozhambu was too watery and very spicy and tasted average 👎. Brown rice with chicken kozhambu tasted delicious 👍 Madras khozi varuval and Egg Thokku was highlight of this visit. Both dishes tasted awesome 👌.

Order: Brown rice with rajma, potato masala and chicken milagu kozhambu with sweet papad and drink.. For sweet we chose coconut barfi.. It was yum.. Rajma was well cooked n potato can be improved a bit.. Chicken milagu kozhambu was spicy and yum but did not find even a small bit of chicken in it..The lemon drink was refreshing and good.. The bill came upto 250 only.. As the bowl was full it was so filling.. Satisfied.. A smal place to fit about 15-20 max..

Online order is totally not worth here, they don't treat it as good as dining. Got nothing. Paid ₹170 bucks. Seems like a simple ₹50-70 meal. And it's not even look like a meal from Madras Curry Cup.

You pick a base like rice or dosa and add your choice of southern style curries, meat or veggies and other toppings. The curries are southern home style mutton curry, chicken curry and fish curry. I've tried them all and they're all good.

The concept was new and so we tried it during a treat. Although the food appeared less in the cup, it was more than enough to fill the tummy. Food was good (not best). The seats in the hotel and car parking were scarce and so one has to go little early than the regular food time.

Deadly combination of south Indian food and fast service. Amazing concept and even more brilliant tastey food. Extreme hospitality. It's an experience. You can't just read reviews. You have to visit the place.
Decent home type food restaurant. They guide u choose your menu. Its different type of eating experience. U have ur preferred rice kolambu payaru(protein) and veg/nonveg dish all in a bowl and u can eat it all easily. Many addons side dishes are available. Little over priced. Still its very good. We could go again and again to try out different combos.
I was so hungry today that i ordered food from this place just based on the name. But what i got was something else . . . . something special . . . the food and aroma just rose from the packing and i were some animal i would have ripped open that packaging to greedily eat that mouth watering feast that lay before me. The packaging was amazing so was the delicious food inside - the prawn curry lived up to the name.
