A perfect, mid-sized, modern Japanese restaurant with neat interiors and a good menu spread. Japanese being part of my comfort-food cuisines, been a regular from their launch. And a fan of their detailing, especially the tableware, presentation.
Order:-
Kani Sunomono (₹300) - A cucumber, crab stick and wakame/seaweed salad topped with sesame seeds. The dash of vinegar and sugar gave an amazing finish.
Tamago Yaki (₹350, 8 pcs) - Japanese rolled Omelette with sweet sauce lovely texture, exquisitely made!
Negima (₹100, 1 pc) - A yakitori negima, the skewered grilled chicken was underdone. Grilled with scallions, served with parsley and carrot.
Shime saba nigiri (₹300, 2 pcs) - A mackerel (fish) sushi with Japanese rice. Served with wasabi, sakurazuke/pickled diakon/radish and parsley. A Good pick.
Rainbow Roll (₹550, 5 Pcs) - A lovely sushi with Avocado, ebiten, ebikko/shrimp flakes, gomadore/Japanese sesame sauce, ebi/shrimp, maguro/tuna, salmon, hamachi/yellowtail fish. The rice was oddly warm. Otherwise great to the palate. Neatly presented. Served with wasabi, sakurazuke/pickled diakon/radish and parsley.
Pirikarai salmon roll (₹550, 5 Pcs) - A spicy salmon roll with avocado, kyuri/Japanese cucumber, ebikko/shrimp flakes, gomadare/Japanese sesame sauce, salmon tataki, topped with spicy mayo. Served with wasabi, sakurazuke/pickled diakon/radish and parsley.
Unagi Roll (₹650, 6 pcs) - Rice, avocado, kyuri/cucumber sushi roll topped with grilled eel. Pleasing palate.
Tori Gyoza (₹350, 5 pcs) - Not the best dumplings I’ve tried. The chicken was cooked through.
Zaru Soba (₹550) - Wet Buckwheat noodles served cold with tofu miso soup, wasabi, scallions, sliced kyuri/Japanese cucumber, tomato and nori seaweed. Loved the set!
Salmon Nigiri (₹300, 2 pcs) - Not the best of salmon sushi I’ve tried. Served with wasabi, sakurazuke/pickled diakon/radish and parsley.
Tempura Udon (₹650) - Thick wheat flour noodles in a mild miso soup with shiitake mushrooms, topped with prawn tempuras and sliced nori seaweed. My favourite dish of the entire lot. Perfectly done. Would suffice two.
Niniku Rice (₹300) - Japanese garlic fried rice with scallions. Served with sliced kyuri/Japanese cucumber and tomatoes. Loved the roasted garlic and sesame flavours.
Beef Yakiniku curry set (₹550) - Beef wasn’t proportionately done, hard. Curry tasted perfect. Served with fermented radish, miso soup, potato mashed salad with carrots and bell pepper. Soup was close to bland, lacking flavour. Disappointed.
Green Tea was served against water. Didn’t try the Green Apple soda (₹90) but my friend liked it.
The tableware/plating wasn’t repeated for any dish, which shows the amount of effort taken to setup the restaurant. Some of the staff didn’t communicate well but the one who waited on us later was courteous, warm. Japanese semi-private table seating style was nicely done. Seating was comfortable. Charge points below the seats. Overall, a good dining experience.
