Located In Periamet..Come To Know This Place By Instagram Bloggers They Temp Me To Visit This Place... Coming food I Ordered Both Mutton Biriyani Nd Chicken Biriyani.. But Seriously Chicken Biriyani Tasted Good Thn Mutton .. Biriyani Was Little Spicy btw Served With Good Amount Of Pieces..
Taste -3.5/5
In the narrow lane, was pretty busy. Everyone gets take away there. If you want to taste, less masala in biryani ? head here. Ambience not so great. Serving is also not upto the mark. Biryani was not so bad. Quite good. Quantity was sufficient. Little over priced for the Ambience, in my opinion.
Biryani is absolutely True Love in the form of Food ! 😍
Biryani was, is and will always be the one for which we can make any kind of sacrifice in life. We are capable of cancelling/postponing our work, sacrifice all our sleep and relaxing time, and travel for hours together all for a plate of Biryani. ♥️
That soothing satisfaction you get when you reach a Biryani shop, See the Biryani anda, Get the smell of the Biryani and hear that *tong* sound while serving the Biryani in the plate is unmatchable. 😋
Periyamet is a Treasure house for varities of Biryanis. The streets have numerous biryani shops. And among all the Biryanis, the Biryani from Karim Mess is my favourite. It is rich in flavours and spice as well. Worth all the sacrifices made, money spent and distance travelled for this plate of MUTTON BIRYANI. One of the best Biryanis in the city. A must try ! 💯
₹200 for a plate of Mutton Biryani.
Periamet is our meeting spot for our lunch , so we tried karim mess for lunch today.
Mutton biryani costs Rs 210.
I tried Combo, which had Mutton biryani and 2 pcs of chicken 65 for 180rs.
Biryani was spicy, not too masala, Pieces were cooked well.
My taste bud follows this biryani.
Don’t bother about the negative reviews below , really an awesome place for to have best quantity and quality biryani . Both their mutton & chicken are extremely cooked well and tender to eat. Don’t miss this place
Hi everyone .... back again with another favorite place of mine to eat a nice Biryani....
KARIM-
A very diverse place to eat all 3 types of Biryani, a thought trough setup so, that nobody feels offended they cook Mutton, Chicken in a separate kitchen and Beef in a separate kitchen and separate dinning, making it proper for everyone to have a good biryani and a good time with friends and family.
Coming to the taste of the masala and the rice it is really good but, a bit on the spicy side, the brinjal curry is like to counter the spice and make it just right to tuck it down the throat !!!
Service is average, as long as you don't expect too much.
**** Food***** Place** Service
Until Next time....
Kareem Mess - Another place in Top 5 best biriyani of Chennai 😍
Much similar version to Yaa Mohaideen one but the Huge Mutton Pieces made it bit more worthier for what you paid
And Brinjal fry is Bloody Damn Combo for any Biriyani & Especially Mutton Biriyani, goes well like a flawless water 😍
Make this as your bucket list whenever you are visiting town

To all the briyani lovers😍, dont miss this place KARIM BRIYANI CENTER. Real spicy chicken and mutton briyani never-ending mouthwatering and taste. Located in a small lane near periamet, near nehru stadium. I opted for parcel and i got 3 servings like as wat i ate. Never felt as if it was enough. NOTE: 2 WHEELER IS MORE PREFERABLE AS IT IS A SMALL LANE AND CAR PARKING IS DIFFICULT. Tagged location for easy navigation. 4. 75/5 for the taste of briyani. Am not sure of the ambience, as i opted for takeaway
Good mutton biryani ,The shop is hidden in a small street.Better get your parcel for the biryani.Chicken biryani is not so great.Mutton pieces are sufficient.
Okay after much hype went to this place and the briyani is worth every penny ,had pure mutton briyani it was tasty with succulent mutton pieces and good spices and briyani was amazing and quantity was large.but the side dishes were not worth it cause chicken 65 was already pre cooked and kept ,and mutton chukka was good
One among the best biriyani of Chennai
The taste of biriyani is different it’s good and delicious
Biriyani lovers should never miss this place
U have biriyani and fry alone
Have been here coupled times quality and taste remains same
Interiors very normal u should not bother if u want to taste good biriyani
Parking is very difficult
Go in auto or bike
Been to Karim's more times than I can remember.... The quantity and quality are good..... First time my friend took me there and been a fan ever since that day.....
It was just awesome.. Being a Muslim, who tests biriyani taste every now and then, I just felt the taste was similar to how my dad makes. Yummy😊👌
I had a mutton biriyani over here, everything is been cooked smoothly. It tastes good and little spicy but thats good. I recommend to visit this shop, if you are around Chennai Central.
Very busy place, but has enough seating to accommodate huge crowd.
Food - Ordered a Mutton Biryani, no doubt they serve one of the best biryani's in Chennai 👌 Onion Raitha and Brinjal curry also tasted really good. Biryani portion was sufficient for one person. However, Mutton pieces were less in biryani, unfortunately I got mostly bone pieces.
Service - Very quick service. Most of the small biryani restaurants in Chennai serve biryani, Raitha and Brinjal all on small Butter paper covered plate bur here we get served on a proper full Banana leaf 👍
Value for Money - Defenetitly worth for what I paid ( 130 Rs)
A must visit place in Chennai 👍
After years back am going to this place, when i was doing my schooling i used to go with my school friends in weekend for this briyani. Do any one want to taste Muslim marriage briyani just step towards this place. After many years even it tastes same especially my favourite mutton briyani and that onion raitha. It's just wow and yummy that's all i can say......just try.....
One of the big names among all the Biryani Centres in Periamet - Karim Mess. Have been here before, probably a year back. Things seem to have changed with addition of Grilled Chicken place and introduction of Quarter plate portions.
The Mutton Biryani priced at ₹90 for quarter plate was long grained and flavourful. Little irritants but at a manageable level. The Mutton (I like to believe it is Mutton, if isn't I'm still okay with it) was Tender and falling off the bones types. Quantity sufficient for a very good eater. The Brinjal Chops wasn't great either.
Mutton Sukka, that I remember having here before was very good but now looks like they are giving a deep fried version of Mutton. Not very impressive as it becomes chewy and the same goes with Chicken 65 which was quiet hard to bite into. Both priced at ₹80 per portion each.
Takeaway portions are priced at ₹130 for Mutton and ₹110 for Chicken Biryani.

Location & Ambience: Opposite to Periyamet mosque is Samy Street and that's where Karim Mess aka Karim Biryani is located. And parking a two wheeler is going to be a piece of cake but there would be no place for four wheeler. As you enter the small narrow lane, at the ground floor is the takeaway counter of Karim mess and the first floor is dining space. Though they have a board saying it's AC dining, the AC's don't seem to work but considering the locality the dining space looked good as well as it is maintained neat.
Taste & Variety: At the dining space, you have to get the food token before you sit down for dining. The menu is pretty simple and the menu includes biryani and side dish. It's chicken and mutton biryani and then the side dish include Chicken 65, Mutton Chukka and Tandoori Chicken. So we ordered for 1/4 (quarter) plate Mutton Biryani and a Khuska.
Once we got the token, they place the banana leaf and bring your portion of biryani. It's more on the lines of self-service as the onion raitha and brinjal curry is placed on the table, so you can service the food and eat it.
The biryani was sheer deliciousness; the essence of mutton's fat and the perfectly cooked long grain basmati rice was just perfect. The mutton was cooked just right, a second under or over wouldn't have made it taste this great. The raitha and brinjal curry are very okay. In terms of the taste the biryani is a killer and the rating is purely for the biryani.
Quality & Quantity: So a quarter portion of mutton biryani with lots of mutton pieces is sufficient for one hungry tummy. The portion of khuska is enormous too. A perfectly nailed Muslim style biryani and the biryani's quality is great.
Price: We paid Rs.180 INR for the biryani. For the taste and quantity, it is totally worth every penny and definitely reasonable too.Biryani lovers paradise.

The best Briyani u ll find in chennai. More than worth for the money you pay. The quantity and the service is good. Looking forward to visit again.
One and a half month/ 6 weeks/ 45 days. That's the period I had to stay away from Biriyani. And I really wanted a plate of biriyani to calm down the screaming soul. While my ever favourite place Koorakadai was there, my partner suggested to try something else for change. That's how we started to Periamet, a biriyani lover's paradise in Chennai. Karim Mess aka Karim Biriyani is located in Samy street, a small lane opposite to Periamet mosque. Keep calm and trust in google aandavar :P
My office colleagues gave me treat....well my colleagues kept tell biriyani is good n all... I didn't believe them...when I tried it was really good...favour full n mouth watering...
Taste : 4/5 ; Ambiance : 3/5 ; Service : 3/5 ; VFM : 4/5
Karim Biryani is located in the bylanes of the vepery highroad opposite to the perimet mosque..its in the lane opposite to lemon tree..the place is quite famous and anyone will guide you here...this particular street also houses akbar mess which is another of the famous joints in the area and a stiff competition to this place..Parking is roadside but cars are best avoided and bike parking is a piece of cake..
The Restaurant is located in a complex away from the street where the ground floor is used for takeaway and the first floor is the restaurant with a decent seating capacity 40 odd ppl the place is averagely maintained and more importantly its a non A/C place and the dining area lacks ventilation which leads to bit of stuffiness in here..
They work on token system..pay before and get the tokens as you enter and the food will served at your table..The service is pretty basic..i placed an order for a khuska and it was served in a normal sized plate in less than 2 mins and was piping hot..banana leaf was placed with chutneys served in no time...
The biryani is very light with long grained rice that well cooked and perfectly flavored but very less on masala..adequate if i may say so...the quantity was more than enough for one heavy eater...normal people will feel this to be more than what they can eat...
Pricing is very nominal for the food that they serve here...ambiance and service are not that great..but this place defines VFM and with amazing tasting food this place becomes a must try in chennai...
One among the best joints for biryani in Chennai, 10 meters away from this place you can feel the aroma of the biryani. Though the interiors are not that great, you will still go here only for the taste of the biryani.
OMG!!! Mind blowing briyani...Best briyani i ever had..seriously..
Walked up with no expectations but ended with a very fulfilling experience...Mutton briyani for 130 rs/- with top quality..The mutton was so juicy and the quantity was also good enough..This has taken over my mom's briyani which i thought was the best.
Looking fwd for other dishes...Keep up the gud work people.

I have been going to this place for nearly 7 years. When ever I cross this place I used to buy biriyani packets to my home..u cannot expect this much quantity in the Price range of 120 any where else.
A perfect place to take a big degh Biryani, one can smell the aroma of Biryani while entering into the Samy Street, better to name it as Biryani street
One Of the Best Mutton Biriyani with 90% perfect taste with Dum Style.... taste good like Lamb Biriyani....
Must try with Hot Served.... plus with A/c Room with covers of tiny about 15 person...
More over its cost worth.....
2 Rating for Service... 3 rating for Family Reataurant....
But the place were we can't find easily....
Here we must try the quality, 5 rating is for Foodie...
One of the best biryanis I had till date. You get both type of biryanis - Chicken & Mutton. You also get Chukkas. You get these biryanis with brinjal curry & sweet.
You need to be there before 12pm on weekends so that you can avoid standing in the long queue or being disappointed being answered "Stock Over" or "No Stock"
When I went there initially, it was just a small shop but after few years, they took over the entire building. The taste is divine and when it comes to pricing, no one can beat it.
Remember, the quantity is also really sufficient. So, if you buy 8 biriyanis,10 people can have it easily.
Great place to have biryani in town. Have it when it's hot. The dining area isn't good. I always prefer the place when am damn hungry. Must have biryani.
Always there is a large queue for this biriyani !!!!! But this biriyani don't worst of waiting , mutton tastes like beef and chicken biriyani tastes ok ok type !!

First of all we went there on a hot chennai Sunday afternoon around 2 pm. We were late as per the server. So chicken biryani and all side dishes got over. We ordered mutton biryani as it was only available. That was the best M.B I ever had. Cost is low too. C.B 100RS. M.B 120RS. The quantity was more and quality and taste were excellent. Food is awesome. But the place is unclean. It was air conditioned. But still the place is bad and service is poorest. But v can visit Any number of times just for food. It is best in chennai for MUTTON Biryani. Period.
was on my way to drop my friend at central, with stomach bells ringing as it was lunch time, got reminded of karim biriyani..and thought i wud give it a try..
Location (3.5/5) -
situated in a small lane, near to nehru stadium , ask for this shop in the neighbourhood shops and u can get there..quiet famous in the neighbourhood.finding good food in a busy area by itself is a rarity.
Ambience (2/5)-
Not much of an ambience,u cant call it a restaurant , mess wud rather be an apt term to describe it.Ideal for bachelors who go with friends.Going for parcel is annoption available if you have a family or if you are getting for ur biriyani loving gf.they also offer bucket biriyani , an economical option if you are more in number
Food (3.5/5)
A simple menu , jus biriyani and couple of dry side dishes..typical chennai chicken and mutton biriyani, tats wat is there on offer.if u love chennai biriyani , u wud like tis place.Quantity is very sufficient enough for average eater both in terms of rice and piece .We tried mutton biriyani and the rice was too good.Mutton pieces were good but cud have been better. There is no egg being served along with the biriyani. One thing which i didn like was the brinjal gravy, was very watery and was not up to the mark.
Pricing (4/5) :
Rs.100/120 for chicken/mutton biriyani , is great vfm for the quantity and taste that is on offer.
Verdict :
must visit place for a chennai type biriyani lover.
Just visit here and taste d best mutton biriyani of chennai!! Very tasty! Clumsy street with a good biriyani centre! This is what we call it as Periyamedu biriyani :D :D side dishes also really tasty!
Nice tasty biryani. Had that smoky taste that comes from the wood fire. It is 110rs for a biryani. Only issue is the packaging ...it is done using newspaper and thin plastic sheet. Mutton biryani is the primary item...they have some side dish but does not look very inviting. Overall a good biryani with nice chunks of meat.
One of the best Biryani centres in chennai. You will get you value for your money. The Ac dining halls for such a price is good. The taste is the highlight. you will drool over the name if you dine here once.
One of the best Briyani in Chennai even though it wasn't like what i expected. The quantity was very high. I would rate Aasife n Bros briyani first and then comes this one.
It's been more than 5-6 years I had biryani here, so decided to get lunch from here yesterday.
1kg mutton biryani - 2 packs
1regular chicken biryani.
This was sufficient for 5 adults.
Taste was really good, very light with less masala.
One pack had 3 mutton pieces avg in size.
5 years back they used give 4-5 pieces in half a plate feels like ivlo piece ah... But now they have changed. Prices are modified.
The box in the image - rs 360
Chicken half rs 190.
Quantity is good, half will be like a little extra or stomach full for one again based on water capacity.
They can consider giving more pieces like how they used to do several years ago.
Overall a satisfied experience.
It's a nice biriyani spot the atmosphere is not good but at the upper(ac) is better than the normal, food quality is better
Tasty briyani, my kids love this place. The taste is too good, not spicy, enough masala, sufficient quantity, excellent quality.
Very good briyani
The Biriyani tat we had her was totally like a Home made biriyani, Delicious, and the amount they serve was full for a person decent price and you could other sides in Chicken Biryani lovers will totally like this place.
Awesome briyani... Great taste and aroma.... They do it on wooden sticks(விரகு அடுப்பு ) unique taste loving it to the core
Cost is slightly on the higher side, but you will get 3 Mutton pieces and more biryani rice. Good enough for two people with moderate eating.
Biryani taste good and the rice was soft and flavourful.
The best spot briyani both chicken and mutton tastes awesome. One of the must try spot for briyani. Those who see this comment try once and you'll never move anywhere. Whenever briyani cones to your mind you automatically thinks of this Karim briyani. I'm damn sure about this. I love this briyani so muchh. I often go for this briyani.
Wow..What a Biryani!!!! My God.. the taste was very great. When I opened the parcel I felt the aroma of Mutton Biryani, a great experience!!!.. that was really great. The masala is well mixed, mutton pieces were well cooked, taste was awesome, Less Oily... No Words!!!! Chicken 65 was good.
A MUST TRY BIRYANI. Authentic Muslim Style!!!! Hats off to the Chef! Dont miss it.
As a foodie, I can rate Karim Biryani with 5 star and can give 85% score!!!!
Ambience is not remarkable just a normal room with tables and chairs. Service was good. Briyani was Ultimate. Good taste that lasts longer in your mouth. I wanted to go again to taste it hot.
VFM briyani. Mutton goes off soon. So only chicken is available in the evening.
