Mari hotel is famous for it’s vada curry , chutney, idli,ghee dosa. This in one of the oldest eateries in chennai. Consistency and taste of the vada curry is maintained well by the chef for several years. Heavy crowd in the mornings. Ghee roast is must try as you can’t this crispy dosa anywhere. It’s a classy veg restaurant and affordable too.
A very good place to have food. The vadacurry here is excellent and is a must try. A classic budget friendly south Indian hotel.
This place was in my bookmark for long time. I was going that way decided to have breakfast over here by seeing this bookmark. This place is easy to locate. I took Google's help to locate. Parking of 4 Wheeler is issue since most of the nearby road are smaller.
Ambiance is just like typical old hotel. Just keep your expectations on check in this regard. Service is good. They were quick and attentive. I went mainly to try their vadaicurry. Ordered Idly, vadaicurry, chapati, Special vadai and Golisoda.
Idly and vadaicurry was good. Chapati was softer, went well with kurma. The masala level in kurma was spot on. Special vadai was apt crispy. Bit short in salt during my visit. Next time this will be my first order since I could feel how good it would be with perfect salt level. Finally had good old Goli soda 🥰 which took me back to my childhood days.
Pricing is cheaper. Full value for money 💰. Overall satisfying experience 😊. I will be revisiting for sure when I go that way

It’s located in the busy streets of Saidapet and the crowd is crazy in the mornings just to get their daily fix of the yummy Vadacurry served here. They can easily accommodate 20-25 customers at a time.

Idli with Vadacurry : Piping Hot Idli’s served with the lipsmacking Vadacurry the consistency is perfectly mastered by the Chef. The Spice level the Aroma and finally the Taste of it was flawless. The Vadacurry has to be ordered separately as it’s not complimentary for the dish you order. Also the Chutney’s served were so fresh and yummy that Imthiaz Ahamed ordered another plate of Idli just for the Coconut Chutney😜
Ghee Dosa : Crispy aromatic Ghee Dosa. There was not a piece that wasn’t crispy and I like my Dosa’s this way almost feels like a snack instead of a breakfast😜 and it feels so light on your tummy that you could indulge in another plate too😋

Though the taste isnt same as compared to my childhood days,it still tastes good.

Th hotel is famous for Vada curry and best goes with set dosa. A must try dish in the hotel. Apart from this they have fired rice, parotta, dosa varieties and other vegeterian options. The place is mostly crowded with more people taking parcels. The hotel has been for many generations and provides the traditional south indian food. The hotel seems to operate only in cash for many generations even today. They charge Rs:25/- for vadacurry which is really good and people eat with parotta, chappati and a lot of dishes. I also like Gobi friend rice and paneer fried rice which is also good.
Two cons for the place is the parking for car and they have only cash (Only cash option no UPI or any other payment). Dont trust on parking the roads are very small and bike parking is also mostly full. They have no desert options.

One of the landmark hotel in this area., it’s been many years and the quality n quantity of the food is simply awesome.
Old method of billing and cash concept mostly, but it worth to experience it and enjoy the taste of food….
Vadakari is their unique food and you should try it.
No parking for car but it’s manageable as it’s not in main road….
Vadcurry had marinated in taste over the years, vadacurry and assorted varieties are not the way it tasted to be, but sambar, masala vada, parotta retains the same taste that I fondly remeber from my childhood. Lot of media hype and history of the dishes may give a perspective of something that is so exquiste, it is not, service will be on and off, atmosphere will be dillusional of everyone running here and there, and parking issue, but if you would like to savor some good, authentic and good old food that dont cause no harm despite repeated consumption,, then ignore the short comings with parking, service or atmosphere and visit the place.
Vadakari was not hyped up as shown in the instagram reels or youtube videos, it tasted regular, and they accept only cash.

Have been relishing their vadacurry ever since I was a little girl. Taste still remains the same and delicious as always! Highly recommend their chutney varieties too.
100 year old hotel. The Food was tasty. Very crowded place, nearly 40-50 people waiting to buy Vadacurry parcel. Vadacurry is favorite food here - 100% must try.
It's in a narrow lane in Saidapet road. No car park available. No AC room service.
Have been buying vada curries here for the past 15+ years .. This hotel has been running for generations . Good to see all servers / helpers masked inside the hotel. They look to folllow covid regulations.
Of course like everyone says “Mari kadai vadacurry “ is really famous . Best with set dosa . Also good with idli ! Love their vada curries.
Parking is tough . Parcel takes a lot of time … less helpers in parcel area. Overall a good experience ..

Not wheelchair accessible, low budget eatery, food is good but not as hyped in media.did not feel hungry for a very long time. Unsure what that means. Vadacurry the supposed to be special of the place is good. The server eho took care of us on the day was excellent

Authentic vada curry.
Two idly and a spl plain dosa with vada curry (ask tomato chutney) with piping hot coffee is one of the best break fast .
The food items here are prepared with food traditional approach.
Idly vada curry is famous and it's a must try.
Sambar bonda is the next best option to try, make sure the bonda is completely soaked in sambar.
The place here is usually crowdes, the streets were narrow too, make sure you cokebgere in two wheelers for better parking.
This place doesn't accept cards or UPI.
Make sure you have enough cash before you order anything.

Nostalgic place in saidapet. My son is the fourth generation to eat here 😄 Vadacurry not like before nowadays fried rice good in night time.
