I've heard about this place long back that they specialise in Chinese items. Since I've always been a fan of Chinese items, I was waiting for the right opportunity to try this place. Finally decided to order dinner on a weekend night.
Kudos to Swiggy! They brought my food within the stipulated time and made me happy!
Since I've never been to this place I'm going to comment only about the food.
My orders were:
👉 Chicken Fried Rice - This was just awesome! Simply superb!! Loved it!!! The quantity was humongous. The quality on the other hand, made me even happier. There was lots of well cooked chicken peices. The rice was dry, but not too dry and was of good quality. Ample vegetables were there. I really enjoyed it especially since was delivered piping hot.
👉 Chilli Chicken Dry - Medium sized, well cooked, spicy chicken served hot. Even this dish did impress me. The quantity also was good.
👉 Chicken Spring Roll - This was the only dish that dissapointed me. I don't understand why most of the restaurants fail in this dish. The outer layer wasn't crispy as it should be. Even though it was hot, it was still rubbery. The stuffing also wasn't perfect. The taste wasn't right and there was too much vegetables instead of chicken. To top all this, all eight peices were soaked in oil. Didn't enjoy this dish at all.
Paid ₹567/-. Seemed reasonable without taking into account the spring rolls. My rating is going to be 4 as I was dissapointed only with one dish and was extremely satisfied and happy with the other two dishes.
Roast beef over chilli beef. I repeat : roast beef over chilli beef. Roast beef + fried rice = perfect combo . I've never been to the place but the food is yum
Ordered Home delivery for lunch and was more than happy with it. Their garlic soup tasted like heaven for my sore throat. The Fried Rice and Manchurian were cooked well, and came in ample quantity. Would surely order again for the reasonable pricing and quick delivery.
Nice family restaurant...in a calm neighbourhood...thats rare in chennai...especially in adyar...like their soups and starter line up...i would reccommend to try out their prawn briyani...
Ordered online from here a couple of times... The food here is awesome and the soups especially are delicious 😋... I love there wontons and chicken fried rice... A good place to order. The order is always on time, food is hot and yummy. A no fuss and no brainer place for me to order time and again.
I order food late at night through Zomato. I ordered a fried rice and prawn combo. The food was fairly good. And quantity is huge. Moreover, pocket friendly.
On a late Sunday evening, me and my friend had momo craving. Unfortunately we couldn't find a place in the odd hours around Adyar, finally we found this place. Decent ambience and they had all that we wanted. Quickly ordered a hot and sour chicken soup and chicken momo. The food was too good! The quantity was tummy filling and made us feel it was rightly priced.

Chicken biryani it was okayish
Schezwan chicken fried rice it tasted yummy and such large portion
Crispy roasted beef it was so hard and rubbery not chewable
Dragon chicken this is what saved us from beef dish

It's a good place to have some really good and quality food from when you are low on budget and don't want to visit someplace which might be too heavy on the pocket. Food here is top notch, and the service is pretty impeccable too. A tiny treasure in Adyar, must try.
Very good quality for low cash. Nice Chinese and a lot of variety in the menu. The service is very responsive too. y'all must visit this place.
We went late afternoon. We almost tried all Chinese and Indian food. Briyani was not there. Managed to get one chicken briyani. They have us wat v need also gave 15% discount. Really we all loved the food here :) lovely food :) cheers!
I have ordered from this place quite a number of times and it has never let me down. I really like their fried wontons, Nikky's chicken rice and Lung Fung chicken soup. The quantity is really good. When it comes down to the taste, I must say it's good, would I order again? Sure!
Another thing that I like is their delivery time is under 45 mins, so I am never kept waiting for a long time. Overall, I am glad to have this restaurant near my area. 😀🍽🍝

Have been here thrice and the food was always at its best. Excellent place for Chinese food especially u must try pan fried noodles. Normal decor bt th quantity n taste will never disappoint you.
This is first restaurant I have visited from Chennai! Although decor reflects restaurant to be Chinese restaurant but we decided to order veg meals. It was regular affair with steam rice, curd,sambar,fryums,rasam and so on. We did enjoy the food along with chittinad chicken as side -dish.
Didn't have high hopes when I dropped in with some friends for lunch. But was pleasantly surprised! We went in for an all vegetarian menu and ordered the momos, chilly crispy potatoes and spring rolls. The momos were good, although the wrap could've been thinner. The potatoes were very good, crispy and spicy. However, the spring rolls were a bit of the let down as the stuffing wasn't very tasty. Not bad, but forgettable.
For the main course, we ordered the egg masala and kadai panner with some breads. The kadai panner was better than what I've had in some places, and thankfully, the paneer was fresh. The naan was good and soft, but the aloo paratha was too spicy and a little burnt.
The quantity is absolutely huge, so order accordingly! We ended up wasting quite a bit of food as we didn't expect the serving size to be this large.
Overall, this place is very good value for money and tastes good as well!
This is one of the best places around adyar, though a bit hard to locate,this is one of the must visit places. Ambience ,service and the cost is excellent but the food they serve is definetly awesome. Any dish with beef is done good. However what I liked the most was their consistency,they strive to provide the best they can offer and tht real thing is what keeps them apart!!!

This comes as a late review because we ordered from Nikkys Kitchen a month ago. Chilli chicken, Non-veg garlic mushroom soup and Thai Fried rice were the orders. The chilli chicken was a winner, soft, juicy and the right amount of spicy. My friend,on the other hand, loved the Thai fried rice, which had a soft herbal flavour to it. Definitely going for Nikkys another time.
Outside of the restaurant is all colorful and once you go inside, it’s a nice quiet ambiance, with decent staff, not clumsy enough and not very big enough either. For all the dishes that we ordered, the quantity was brilliant. Would suggest 2 portions for 3 or 1 for 2. The order included Pepper Chicken (good to have it with plain Hakka noodles, good thick gravy with 10-12 medium pieces of chicken), Singapore Seafood Noodles again was very well spiced (good amount and quality of prawns and the dish is more than enough for 2) and Chicken Momos (not the best in town, slightly below average but the schezwan chutney was good, could be avoided). Worth trying.
The ambience is regular and decent. The staff is polite, but a bit tad tardy. The orders do take time to arrive! Be prepared to wait a little. But when the food does arrive, it does not disappoint. It's the ideal place to go when you want to eat out, grab a bite, but don't want to lighten your wallet too much!

Visited this place a long time ago(it's opening week) and the food is still as good. The dragon chicken is my personal favorite.

It was a pretty decent Thai place to hang out in Adyar. Not too pricey. Beef Roast was my favourite! Momos were good too! It would've been even better if they'd provide a spicy chilli garlic dip rather than the coconut chutney. Couldn't find many diners at around 9.30pm on a Saturday! But it is definitely worth giving Nikkys Kitchen a try!
I was waiting for the right time to eat at this place. Today was the day and I'm completely satisfied. Excellent oriental cuisine. I ordered eng yong faan, Chung King chicken and chocolate paratha. Both the rice and the chicken had a perfect Chinese taste. The best was chocolate paratha. It was crunchy and the chocolate melted in the mouth. Delicious. The price is very reasonable for the quantity that's given. It would be great if they deliver food in containers instead of aluminium foil covers.
Will surely order often and visit regularly.
I ve gone to this place fr more than 5 tyms! Still I cudnt come out of the Singapore ribbon noodles they serve!! The Kuyato is my favourite!!! Nd the ambience is good... Wit all Chinese lanterns nd dim lights!
The cost is moderate... Worth fr the food they serve... Max 600 fr 2 ppl...
It's somewhere inside the streets of Indra nagar!!! So just get into Google maps to find tis spot nd hav a yum tum meal...

The food is really nice, a good place to taste Thai and Chinese dishes, the service was good and the price was reasonable. Will make sure to visit it again.
If you are looking for something different than same chicken and fish gravy dish then this is perfect place for you. Food tastes amazing over this place. Don't go for fried rice or noodles. Try something u never had before u will love it.
This restaurant is now one of my favourites..they serve high class Chinese dishes which are so delicious..i even loved their stuffed paratta which can make u feel full..the quantity is more than what is sufficient..the ambience is just perfect with the decorations and arrangement inside with very good service.

Everyday when I walk home from office, I see this restaurant. Finally, now I'm writing this review straight after finish my dinner here.
I was badly suffering from cold so I thought it would be wise to order "hot and sour chicken soup". The main motto was to try Thai cuisine. So, I ordered "Steam rice with Thai green curry (prawns)".
They took some time to prepare the soup and in that time, I was admiring the beauty of the place. On every wall, there were photos of Buddhist monasteries and holy shrines that was put cleanly on a handcrafted bamboo frame. There were Chinese lights hanging on the wall and on one of the walls, there was a long Chinese hand fan spread open. The ambiance was good and lot of effort was put to maintain the authenticity and to give a good look and feel.
Now coming back to the food, the soup was thick with lot of veggies and pieces of chicken. The soup was hot but not too spicy, just the way I wanted it to be.
They took lot of time to prepare Thai green curry, but once it arrived, I couldn't resist to sit idle. The Thai green curry had lot of green, red and yellow capsicum along with big prawns. The green color looked a bit artificial. The taste was sweet, similar to the Indian dish navratna korma. But on the good side, there were big prawns, nicely cooked to perfection. The rice grains were long and non sticky. To me it was a perfect combo, but if you like spicy food then you should go for Thai Red Curry.
Overall, the experience was good, the staffs were polite and the atmosphere was serene.
I would recommend this place to anyone who loves to finish food with a fork and a spoon :)

We decided last minute to visit this place. My wife was looking through places in adyar and that's how we decided lets try nikkys kitchen.
We took sometime to search the place due to the issue with maps. But this place is close to olive and basil. Do go through my review of that place too.
The place was not crowded.2 tables were occupied. There is ample parking space. It is basically an house converted into a restaurant.
We ordered the Phuket fish for starters. It was a bit hard not the usual softness associated with this dish. We enquired with the captain of this is how it is usually made. He offered to change it. The topping on the fish was tasty. So we told him its fine and not to change it.
Next we went for a combo. They have a chicken rice/noodles combo with any gravy or starter along with it. We ordered the schezwan chicken noodles along with ginger chicken as dry. Was really tasty and the portion was decent considering the combo costs just rs.180. Overall a great place if you don't want to spend too much at the same time enjoy a good meal.

I must admit this place has the most yummy non veg starters for th most decent price. The restaurant has a lot of North eastern touch to it.. Peaceful and elegant but I won't really recommend this place for the ambience for your first date though...the Waiters give yo good choices to pick from th menu but there presence around yo all the time mite be bothering.
Taking about the Food..,The quality of the prawns and chicken used in the appetizers great!like Like I never even expected tat..!!! So succulent,fresh..And the flavours were at point! I have nothing but to RAVE about the STARTERS.. As a meal for two we loved the starters we ordered and went out of the way to order 3 more even though th portions per serving was quite satisfying.. As a food critic I failed to try the other dishes(maincourse) from th menu. Being completely excited about th food and intimated tat the restaurant was north east of kind, I ordered a portion of Chicken MOMO'S (tat was not in he menu,but the waiter told me they make them in their kitchen!). I was pretty excited cos it's one of my favorites. I wished I never asked for MOMO'S. They was terrible! Made of a greasy coating from th outside and so bland in flavours in the stuffing. Probably tats y it's not on th Menu(I assume?). Well then I quickly decided to wrap up cos I dint want to any more disappointments,I dint wanna end with a dessert either.
On a final note.. it's totally worth a visit especially for an evening snack if yo like to munchbon some nice appetizers ( I have nothing to say about the veg part) but I totally recommend this place if yor on a budget and want tasty food wen yor on the go..!

Nikki's had been on my bookmarked list for quite sometime and finally dropped in there for a quick lunch last week! Here is what we ordered.
1. Garlic soup: It was a well seasoned broth with generous amount of vegetables in it. The hint of garlic was obvious as from the name. It was a good soup.
2. Mix veg stir fry: Trying to play safe here actually as this dish generally never goes wrong! It wasa yummy dish,had mushrooms , panneer, bell pepper and lots of other vegetable in a spicy/tangy sauce smeared all over them. What amazed me was the quantity!!! It was a LOT!
3. Nikky's special fried rice: Again here the quantity was huge especially for the price you pay for the dish. But the taste was not that great. It was usual plus I felt it had a lil less salt however my fellow companion thought it was just the right amount. Anyways its not a dish I would recommend as what they could call as their speciality!
4.Baby corn Hong Kong style: I truly dunno what kinda taste "Hong Kong style" refers to but tasted good.
5. Fried icecream: It's an all time favourite. Nice crispy dumplings with vanilla ice cream inside,breaded with grated coconut , topped with honey glaze and cashenuts .Yumm!
The ambience of the place is pretty good too although they were having issues with the electricity on the day I visited but otherwise a beautiful lil place.

Non vegetarians would enjoy the place as there are many varieties of meat.
A good place for indo-Chinese food. Typical Chinese restaurant ambience. The food is pretty decent and the quantity is huge. The beef varieties are mouth watering. They can make the place better though.

It's a nice little place with good food. The biggest appeal of this place is that the regular Chinese dishes have a distinct flavor twist to them. For starters, we had ordered crispy chili potato and Cantonese fried chicken. The mains included Singapore noodles, garlic chili noodles, vegetable Manchurian and nikkys special chicken. We ended it with fried ice cream. To sum it up, it was a good experience with good food at decent prices.

Visited the restaurant for take away last weekend. The restaurant is pretty easy to locate and since this has been in my wish list for a while now, I decided to try out simple options..
The ambiance is pretty nice and simple and the waiters were helpful in choosing the items.. I ordered a Nikkys Sea food Fried rice along with Steamed fish. The waiter said the order should be ready in 20 mins, but they took about 40 mins, which is fine by me since they are preparing the Fish after placing the order, which took time.
Now coming to the food, the Sea food fried rice was of generous quantity that I shared it with my brother. Had good amount of egg, prawns and fish pieces and tasted really good. The Steamed fish was a bit hard, that it felt like chicken, but it tasted good. It had a watery gravy which itself was good as soup.
I have always had bad experiences with Chinese restaurants like Wangs kitchen, but this was one of the better Chinese restaurants i have visited. :)
Overall it was a good and Will visit again for dine in next time to try out their items.
Ambience is pleasant...food is very tasty..cost is moderate and quantity is good....located besides the vasan eye care clinic in the kamaraj avenue cross street connecting to the Adyar telephone exchange junction..Recommended for foodies..
This is an awesome place to try out, the food quantity is good. Everything you order is of good taste. I have visited more than 6 times now, and every dish I ordered was good in taste. Earlier there was no biriyani but now for this new year 2016 they have come out with some biriyani as well ( I still haven't tasted that). To top it all, they offer excellent service. The waiters are kind and treat you with respect. For the quantity that they give, I would call this a budget restaurant.

I like this nice little place to hang around in rhe neighborhood of adayar. Ambiance is good and got little parking space say. 3 to 4 cars to park. Food taste really good. I tasted dragon chicken, crispy lamp and stir veg fry. All tasted good. Price is also vey reasonable and they provided decent volume in serving.
Looking at the outside appearance of this restaurant I was bit hesitant to try, after reading lot of good reviews I decided to order from this place yesterday. Food was delivered less than an hour.

Food was delivered hot and it tasted good.

Ordered in from this restaurant for the first time today ; was hoping to try something new. I ordered a pepper mushroom soup , the special fried rice (veg) and a babycorn hongkong style gravy .
Honestly the rice and gravy were good , the rice was mildly spiced but the only downer was they mistakenly forgot to add mushroom to it I think. The babycorn was of a good number of pieces with a typical soya based gravy which I like a lot.
The soup however , though I really like the amount of vegetables and taste in itself , was incredibly spicy so I could eat only half of it. The pepper needs to be for seasoning and in mild content , not a sea of it as it was in mine. Spicy !
This restaurant can easily become a new favourite for quick chinese if little things like this were taken care of.
Definitely worth the try as the quantity and quality is good :)

Stepped into the restaurant by chance and got to say , we were NOT disappointed . We were apprehensive looking at the number of votes , just 41 , on Zomato but decided to go ahead.
Located on one of the side streets in Adyar, the restaurant has limited parking space although the Not-so-Busy roads can be utilized. It appeared to be a new restaurant and the 41 votes made sense then.
The ambience was okay with the tables a bit cramped up (really cramped up I mean). Given the limited space, the restaurant did look neat and tidy. We ordered a Hanoi soup, a veg Wanton starter, an egg Shanghai rice and veg balls side dish . All the 4 items were above average with the wantons deserving a 5/5 . Being a vegetarian, my options were limited while the menu did have a lot for the meat eaters .
The service wasn't all that quick but nothing to complain about . There was a decent crowd for a Saturday night but nothing that would require a table reservation. The cost was average . For all the above items and a dessert, it was close to 900.
NOTE: The rice and side dish quantity is good enough for three people .
Okay, finally, try their 'FRIED ICE-CREAM' . The best dish of the night and quite a unique one . Definitely am going back just to have their fried ice cream !!! Expecting the place to be trending soon!!!
Another neighborhood restaurant with a casual dining concept. Chinese and Thai food - a pretty vast menu selection.
I'm writing this review from a month back. So, I unfortunately I do not remember the exact names of the dishes I had.
But, one month later - here are the thoughts that strike me when I think of the dinner that 6 of us had here.
- large portions. Noticeably, extremely large.
- great flavours : the Thai dishes in specific. The starters are great.
- the combos : so VFM. Like the rest of their offerings.
- Decor : don't expect much out there. Though the red and green colours give you a Christmas feel!
Cost : like I said. I think I paid 2.4K for 6 people. And I had doggy bagged my lunch for the next day. So, totally worth it.
Bottom line : skip cooking at home once in a while and eat out here / parcel some home.
Service : fast

Wanted to try this place for a long time right from its opening ,cause its situated in my daily route and I have seen it getting shape
Their combo caught my attention through a pamphlet in a daily
The place is well styled to their cuisine from their wallpaers to hangings and the props used .It seats close to 60.
I got the non veg combo which has
Hot sour chicken soup
Spicy fried chicken
Nikkys spl fried rice
Schezwan chicken gravy
Mint cooler
Ice cream
It didn't take long for them to serve,
The soup was very thick and spicy which I like
The starter had 5 small pieces and the taste was OK can't expect more in a combo thou
The fried rice was good ,quality wise and went well with their gravy which was thick as well compared to other places which give gravy in water consistency.
The mint cooler and the ice cream were just meh!!
Costed 282₹ which is more than good, overall my outing was just normal
But a great credit has to be given to their staff they were so good that I tipped on top of the ServiceCharge which I haven't done for a very long time.
Should try their à la carte menu next time around.
I would suggest your men to ask the customers whether to pack the left over meal or not instead of just taking it away because we pay for it.
I didn't ask them to but the gesture would have been nice!

Received pamphlet in the morning papers and looked at the prices, was tempted to try it out. Checked the reviews on zomato, it looked promising. Went on Saturday night, the place can accommodate three cars for parking.
Ordered, lungfung soup, baby corn fried in sesame seeds. Nikki's veg fried rice and kungpao chicken.
Soup was bland, but was good.
The dip served along with the baby corn, made it very tasty.
The rice and chicken were also good.
As indicated by most others the portions are good. But I felt that one portion for an average person is on the higher side, but if you order another portion for a main course then it would be an overkill for two people.
A general suggestion from my side to the hoteliers is to give half portions as well.

Before I start ,This review comes from a Guy who hates chinese food and make fun of people who eat chinese food. Seriously there wont be any salt in any of the Chinese food items.
Delivery experience : Best delivery ever. The food was hot packing was really good and guy amidst of heavy rains he came on time.
Food :
Schezwan chopsuey -This is the best I have ever had. Texture,consistency, Quantity Everything was perfect.
Fried wontons : This is the first time I am having wonton. This is exactly the same samosa which we get in any chat shop but the shape is bit different. Not exquisite but was good.
Hakka noodles : This was different from other noodles, well cooked, veggies were well mixed and most importantly there was enough salt. :) Flavor was ultimate.
One advice to management :
Minimum order amount can be less than 400, If order is greater than 400 deliver it in home if it's less than 400 Have a Take away option.
Nikkys kitchen delivered my order on Nov 15 th, 2015 at 8:30pm when the whole of Chennai was almost drowning. This makes me rate their delivery 5 on 5. Ordered Hakka Noodles n Wantons. Quantity was much more and decent taste. The noodles was not oily which made it stand apart from all other Chinese restaurants. My friend Ram Reddy. was also much satisfied with the Szechwan chopsey. I am eager to definitely visit the restaurant when I hang out near Adyar.
As was in Adayar and Nikky' s was close by decided to lunch there. Parking available so a boon for an outsider.
Walked into the really cool interiors and was pleased to see the décor which was easy on the eyes.

Asked for:
Chicken fried rice : Well cooked and full of flavours. The chicken pieces were tender and filled the rice. Massive quantity, the wife and I couldn't go through half of the bowl.
Beef roast: Slivers of roasted beef well marinated and covered with fried onions. It would have been an excellent dish if it the sweetness was cut down.
Prawn Manchurian : At least eight medium sized prawns fried in thin coat of batter in a thickish gravy. It was nice.

I decided to head to Nikky's Kitchen for grabbing my dinner as the menu seemed to be very reasonable and I had planned on checking this place out ever since it's opening. But since I was going alone, I was ordering takeaway.
I ordered egg fried rice along with chicken and mushroom in oyster sauce. Firstly one must note that there can be no qualms as far as quantity is concerned. The egg fried rice is quite typical and hence, decent tasting. The oyster sauce was an interesting experience (having never had it before). It's bland but was enjoyable. So all in all, great value for money. *thumbs up*
The ambiance is all right even if not breathtaking. There's no unnecessary music to serve as a distraction which I find is always something of a bonus so as to encourage people to talk and eat. The service was okay and if I had to nitpick, I would point out how I had to ask three separate waiters on three separate occasions before I finally got some water.

Some of my friends and I visited nikkys kitchen a few weeks back for dinner.
First impressions were quite good. A bit of parking space on an otherwise cramped street, decent ambience and a friendly welcome as we walked through the door.
The restaurant was empty and we had the privilege of choosing our own table. We sat in a corner table that had sufficient light and breeze. Soon after we sat down and ordered soup we realised that our choice of table was pretty bad as the corner was plagued by a swarm of mosquitoes that just wouldn't quit.
All that aside the food was quite good. We tried two of their soups the garlic soup and the vegetable noodle soup. If you have read any of my previous reviews you would know that I am not a huge soup fan and usually go sans soup. I left the verdict of the soup to my friends. The garlic soup was to die for apparently and the noodle soup equally as good. While my friends were halfway through their quite large serving of soup we were served our starter butter cauliflower.
This is when I started my meal and helped myself to the cauliflower I was quite apprehensive because the dish looked quite bland but all my doubts disappeared when I took the first bite punchy flavours of garlic, peanuts, and the right amount of saltiness like eating roasted salty peanuts at the beach and melt in the mouth butteriness! Delectable!
Once my friends caught up we decided to order main course vegetable szechwan rice and Singapore noodles.
We were served the Singapore noodles first and it was an explosion of flavours in the mouth. Soft noodles and crispy veg. Then we tried the szechwan rice. Szechwan rice being a favourite of mine I was looking forward to this but I am sad to say it was a let down. After the explosion of flavours from the noodles I found the rice to be quite bland. The quantity of main course is quite huge, 3 of us were quite stuffed after the two mains.
We then ordered dessert.
We ordered an apple toffee.
Then we waited for what felt like an eternity.
Finally when the apple toffee arrived it was not what we expected it was about 8 balls of deep fried batter stuffed with Apple and then dropped in sugar syrup. The balls were too big to pop in the mouth while so we had to cut them and when we did we were surprised at the squirt of juice. It didn't taste very good the batter was quite bland, the apple being boiled in its own juices inside the batter in the fryer lost most of its flavour. Disappointing dessert.
The overall experience was quite pleasant. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have decent oriental cuisine at a decent price.

My love for Asian cuisine irked my interest about this place when I saw an ad in the newspaper about its launch. After craving it for a while I ended up going there for dinner - impromptu
There are very few places that can remember to make the entire dining experience memorable. While most places do it in the initial few days, it's a charm that fades away in all other cases. Nikkys kitchen is definitely doing a fantastic Job is giving its customers a pleasant experience.
Very warm and friendly service staff make you feel At ease and the ambiance is also very soothing with lovely lights and wallpapers. Some mild music and easy on the eye decor is a good plus. Ideal to have a convo over some good food. Works very well I'd say 😎👍
I had the Thai veg soup which was loaded with pepper and a decent portion of veggies. It was very nice and not very starchy.
We ordered some veg spring rolls to go with the soup. They were cooked really well. At 170/- for 8 pieces, I would've enjoyed it a bit more had the pieces been slightly bigger. I ordered the Nikkys special veg fried rice which was very nice. Lots of veggies and a light sauce was used. They have used mushrooms and onions in a very tasty sauce which brings out the best in taste. I like mushrooms to be slightly chewable and not those overboiled ones. This was just that!! The rice had a lovely colour and aroma. Very very huge portion though and I ended up packing almost half the bowl.
We had the Date pancake for dessert was quite nice. Simple and tasty. A small portion which leaves you wanting for more. They had doused the pancake filling with chopped nuts which gives you the perfect crunch.
All of this with a shangai chicken rice and Thai chicken soup came to just 721/- which is very good absolutely

"Value for money" a term which generally makes more sense when there is at-least 6 people fill their bellies for an apt lunch with variety and still they can pack some back for home.
Nikky's Kitchen was easy to spot right after the Barathi CBSE school near Shashtri nagar; with a feel of a home converted into restaurant and all that is of ambience is much like created ones with artificial flowers and something which will tell you it's an armature approach.
We were revived by an elderly person who was modest and very humble; there was parking space; The lighting again was armature; with a little bit of gloominess on the room freshener, we sat the menu looked quite pleasing with Asian delicacies and pricing looked pretty nominal.
Tom yum goong : they had the name mixed up in the menu yet what arrived was pretty straight forward and was good .
Lollipop: Chicken lollipop reminded me back in the days of taj "golden dragon" pretty huge and my kids licked the last streak of sauce off the plate .
Fish finger : can't expect tartar sauce, and the colour was pretty dark probably use of crust for crumbs, yet it wasn't burnt and it was perfectly done in the inside.
Batter fried prawns : do not expect a whole prawn ... Just explore they have added some sort of enhancer on those fried crumbles of batter tossed it with few chopped garlic and curry leaves; its a nice take of using tempura shrimps fit the soul food category, it reminded me of those moments where we relish on droplets of batter.
Thai chicken and green curry prawn: it's completely an armature approach, this by no means can be said as authentic Thai curry it's a total Indian version, I could say there is a segment which we could call it Indo Thai ... The thick coconut milk and capsicum sometimes if there ain't coconut u might even think it's Tikka masala; the green curry tho looked alien the use of either artificial green colour or spinach purée is reminiscent; with all this the local palates relished it so all my policing is down the drain.
Fried rice/Noodles/chilly beef : Indo Chinese affair and all were good nothing spectacular yet good.
Fried ice-cream- overdose of coconut but they had Maintained the texture.
Vfm: as I said it clocked 2125 for 5 adults and 2 kids and still we packed the leftovers
Verdict : value for money but not a place if you are planning for a special dinner or thereabouts !! And taste wise they are ok but innovative wise old school !!!
Main course- Szechwan Noodles that was way too good. The veggies in were perfectly sauteed and crunchy and the sauce on top was well done with cremated red chillies, that brings the goodness of Szechwan in a go. The noodles on the other hand was well done, well tender with the sauce topping. Thai fried rice was a surprise, as this was my maiden attempt on thai, there was a sceptic feel with the slightly Indian similar flavour of coconut and coriander seeds. Though it went well with the veg balls in manchurian sauce. The sauce and Veg balls is the only stereotypical dish . They were decent though, you could anyways make em more spicy with the chilly sauce on the sides. Ideal for my parents any day. Cost is reasonable, at around 600 for two. spacious parking

Myself and my family were there for dinner on a Sunday night and the place was descently decorated.
Food we ordered was very straight with veg and chicken dim sum as starters and some lamb pepper and fish starters. Both lamb and fish had the same flavour but the dimsums were yummy and it was served late when our main courses were served that's fine as the order taker said it was made from scratch. My only concern was the nikky's spl veg fr rice which had very less vegetables and the rice dint have any aroma or flavor, what is that makes it special and why is it priced high. But I was shocked to see the bill. 1700 for 5. Definitely worth the price.
Overall our dining experience was good and will visit again. VFM is the first word comes to my mind when thinking of Nikky's.
Been here few times with friends. You have ample space to park vehicle. Service and ambiance are decent. Quantity they give are high so consider that and order. We have tried Momo, wonton, tom yum soups, sez fried rices etc. All are Excellent.
Price is also reasonable considering the quantity and location. Good Value for the money.
So my brother and I ended up going to Nikkys Kitchen because we were starving and this is quite close to our house.
We were fully expecting the place to be average and not out of this world because the ambience isn't great. But to our pleasant surprise, the food was nice and for the amount we spent on our meal it was quite amazing. The staff is courteous and service is quick.
Please visit this place if you want good food on a tight budget!
ur super favourite place when we are in a mood of some lavish exotic Chinese dishes. Having dined in for 3 times , thought its unfair for not having reviewed so far abt such an awesome favorite place. i loved your chilly panner wit shangai rice very much, This place instantly brings me lot of happiness with their food and the always happy smiling courteous staffs very humble, polite and very friendly. Ambience always a top notch, very aesthetically done.
This is one place where I will go back again and again.. like forever till it exist.

Food is awesome if you order Chinese or Thai. The best you could get in town. Ambiance is pretty good. For a small gathering its quite affordable too.
Menu has a lot of variety.. Staff are very courteous.. We had crispy potato, mushroom pepper salt and spring roll for starters. All 3 were very yummy.. We had vegetable ball Manchurian gravy and chili garlic noodles, all they cooked to the perfection.. Noodles were soft and tasty ..

Hello world! Tried a newly opened restaurant near my place, Nikkys! Its been a month and a half as told by one of the attendant.
Nice place to eat. Tried chicken soup, starter and main course . Chicken is tender and cooked in right way. Soup was served very hot , so have it carefully. All in all it was a great experience.
One of my friend blabbering about Nikkys kitchen in Adyar food taste and pricing . At first i dint believe what he told, Also my cousin told me about the service quality of the food and rates what they are charging........

really they are doing well , i ordered thai pai chicken, i liked it a most . my elder son had dragon prawns it s tender and juicy , i really wondered how they cooking ........

I am from keelkattlai bit far form Nikkys Kitchen, one of my friend ravi told about Nikkys kitchen food, so 3 of us went there for a dinner.
Their food was really really good, cooked to most perfection, Tom yung goog soup was flavorful retain it aroma till the end which appetite me a lot, roasted beef was excellent it is soft and crispy, and i ordered sechzawan seafood noodles it was amazing i never ever had like that before in Chennai.
i ll keep going on to this place, i have to thank ravi for introducing such awesome restaurant to me.....

Landed up at this place for a late night Sunday dinner with a friend. The decor seemed tasteless so we weren't sure of what the food would be like. Ended up eating Thai. The soup was very flavoursome and the main course was quite good too.enjoyed our meal. The portions and large and VFM.
Liked the food and service except for the decor which can be worked on to bring in more guests. The plastic flowers and bright colours are pleasing to the eye and brings down the appeal of the place by a great deal.
I would opt for home delivery next time. Good food but not a very delightful place to sit in unfortunately.

Awesome place and real value for money. The menu is mouth watering and inexpensive. Do not order one each main course since the quantity they serve is huge. 1 fried rice and 1 noodles serves almost 2 adults and 2 Children so it's that good. The service decent. This place needs good enjoyable Music. It being new I was expecting offers. :-) I personally know John and the Chef due to DLF connect. Both of them are awesome people to deal with. Venkat sir I thought I will meet you but unfortunately didn't. C u soon!! A decent place for Indian-Chinese-Thai Hotel. We had ordered Fried wantons, chicken fried rice, prawn pepper fry, green soup and veg curry. The complimentary spring rolls were really tasty. The prawn pepper fry way too salty. The chicken fried rice had no salt. Guess I should have gone for the szechwan. Anyway the soup was good, the wantons were really yummy and the quantity was more than any restaurants have ever provided. The came around Rs.882/- One thing should be mentioned was their service - a big 5/5.
The food is awesome, if you love spicy food this might not be your best choice. The waiters there are friendly they always server with a smile. The quantity they server is so huge and its worth the money! Wish they had better menu in juices.
Opposite to my home is an add on..... Food quantity is high.....!!! Even you can order a noodle or fried rice and share with 3 people!! Compliment veg spring rolls !!! Best Thai restaurant.... Taste is 100% good!! I ordered a Thai food which was not on the menu....later referring the menu called the captain, enquired about it but all of the sudden they gave the order one on the table was stunned !!! So that the service we look fwd!!! Ambience is perfect....parking s good.... Juice variety s osum, try once but order wise!!

*Updated reviw* Reviewing despite this being a home delivery order and having ordered just two things because
1. The delivery was quick. The guy on the phone said something about "5 or 10 minutes" and I expected that someone would call for directions then. We don't live very far away and the food was here within 15 minutes. Am not kidding. And this is at 1030pm.
2. The packaging is great - thick foil pouches for noodles and gravies. Much better idea than the tons of plastic tubs chronic home deliverers like I accumulate (and anyone with ideas on how to dispose of them are welcome)
3. The food was good. I decided to ask for the Nikky's Special Noodles and the Nikky's Special chicken to see what they considered to be their special, was not disappointed. I like my Chindian greasy and garlicky and savory, this did not disappoint. I've been long ruing the lack of Chindian deliveries in Chennai, after Olive and Basil, this is a really good option, and now we can close Wang's once and for all. It also came with some sweet and spicy chili sauce. Worked perfectly.
4. The pricing is great. Two people are really good with an order like this which cost 383 including service charge of 5% and a service tax.
Hope to visit soon and try the other stuff, especially Chindian starters.
Updated: home delivery again: ordered steamed fish, roast beef and a tom kha soup for lunch and dinner. The steamed fish was a. Not Basa b. Really really good. Delicately poached and balanced flavour. The tom kha was interesting. The flavours were fine and there was a decent amount of prawns for 80 bucks but it also had an egg dropped in it. I didn't mind it. At all. And we got 4 complementary spring rolls!
The roast beef was for dinner. The beef was slightly dried out to be critical but the preparation was great and it was loaded with star anise which was amazing. Nikky's does a lot more than your regular Chindian apparently. Service is quick, whoever picked up the phone was able to guide me on non batter fried items clearly, and three non veg hearty portions for 570 isn't bad at all.
TASTY BUT BE PREPARED TO SHELL OUT
Wanted a quick small lunch after a busy work. Zomato provided good reviews for this nearby restaurant. Even though I didn't like the ambience much, I sat down to oeder Curd Rice, Egg fried Rice, Prawn BBQ and Orange juice.
1. I would surely provide a 5 star for this curd rice. The rice was in a perfect state for curd rice. The essence and taste was exquisite.
2. Egg fried was quiet a usual dish. It was good compared to any restaurants with similar price range.
3. The prawn was cooked well. However the bbq flavour was majorly missing in the masala.
Over all its a cool place to dine in adyar. I could also see IT people come in gangs. However I don't find anything malluish with the dishes served. Also, price for all these dishes were too costly. You can visit once if you are around Adyar specially for Curd Rice

Malabar house is located in adayar where earlier Nikki's kitchen was there.... I have had terrible experiences with Nikki's kitchen so was avoiding Malabar house for all this while....
Then one of my friend said that the owners have changed and I should try it... So decided to order dinner from this place...
Ordered for appam and Malabar egg roast... Food arrived on time and it was packed well. Surprisingly the food was still hot when it reached home....
Being a mallu I have eaten appam and egg curry in several places in Kerala several times in my life.... So my expectations were high... And I must say this place matched my expectation.
The appam was soft and tender... Malabar egg roast was perfect... I have ordered egg roast from many Kerala restaurants in Chennai... But I must admit theirs is definitely amongst the top 3... The dish was dry and fried with lot of onions... It went extremely well will appam. Egg roast was a tad spicy... But no complaints because if not spicy then it wouldn't have gone well with appam....
They have priced the dishes very nominal... The egg roast was less than 100rs... I have ordered the same egg roast from other Kerala restaurants and they charge double the price....
A good start with this restaurant... Being a mallu will definitely order or visit this place for sure... Thanks to the team for replacing Nikki's kitchen and setting another restaurant which caters mallu food... Giving 4/5 as I only tasted couple of dishes... Will reserve my review after tasting other dishes
Finest place to get a Kerala flavored food. I strongly recommend this place for people who crave for Kerala food. Good service but you gotta wait a lot to get your ordered food to be on your table. They take lot of time to serve and you need patience. But the wait is worth for the food there. Thank you.
The food was so good and tasty. Authentic Kerala style food. Buffet also available. Value for money.
Authentic Malabar good. They also serve Chinese and Indian cuisine. Reasonably priced. Good quantity. The interiors look worn out and may not impress you. The food was excellent and well cooked. Kids loved the fried rice and Malabar paratha. This was our third visit and we were not disappointed. The restaurant manager said, they are going to renovate the whole restaurant, so looking forward for refreshing interiors to compliment the food.

They offer you Sadhya on Onam day. It was pretty close to the taste and flavor of authentic Kerala style. Loved the food. Good service. Booking a table is suggested on a special day like Onam. Ambience is ok. Parking is available and free for bikes and cars.

Unique taste. Had dragon paneer, parotta and mixed vegetable curry. Every dish was lip-smacking. It would be better if they improve the ambience and staff's discipline.
we ordered vegetarian only vegetarian items, we had paneer tikka, butter naan, wheat paratha & mushroom masala. Paneer tikka was really good, others all fine but not very great may be because its an non-vegetarian hotel. all are fresh but only wheat paratha is not actually fresh looks like reheat the old one, otherwise staff all good, very quick service, good parking space, prime location, easy to identify, relaxed environment, nice place to hang out with friends
Must try place for all Mallus. Visited them a few times and completely satisfied with the mall food and the authentic taste. Especially the fish kumarakom and chicken varautharachathu. Tried the shawarma, it was ok only. Wanna try t kabsa and then will rate the Arabic food. But otherwise it's a very nice place with good people at the desk and got service
Food is decent quality, chicken is marinated really well and has a lot of flavour. Green and white sauce is okay, nothing special.
Reccomend BBQ pepper chicken and the garlic naan.
