I have eaten at and ordered food from Cascade Medavakkam for the last almost 5 years. They have always maintained great quality taste and authenticity of the Chinese dishes.
I relish the Beef sizzler, paper wrapped chicken and all of their noodles. Great place to have tasty and authentic Chinese.
Delicious Chinese food served here. Momos were mouth watering. Really nice sophisticated ambience. The staff was courteous. We went for Sunday brunch and had a wonderful meal at an affordable price. Will definitely visit again soon.
I ordered shezwhan chicken fried rice and paper rolled chicken .. fried rice was good but paper rolled chicken was average. Overall it was a good and tasty.

Ordered Chicken Lolipop, it comes with six pieces, the taste was awesome (crispy, mild spicy, sauté onions and a nice handle for the lolipop)
Dragon chicken was good.. But was expecting a gravy type.. But received dry inspite of ordering the non dry item. Thai veg noodles was blunt... won't suit for ppl expecting some spice.

The food is rich, and the portions big too. The decor is on point and gives generally good vibes. A quiet place to enjoy Chinese and continental too. It is pretty pricey but the food is definitely worth it ❤️
Good food, nice ambience and amazing quantity. Their soup serves three people exactly how an oriental cuisine restaurant should be. I suggest this place for birthday treats and parties. Don’t let the tariff fool you cause the quantity makes it worth it

Probably the best chilli beef I've ever eaten in my life. Rates are a bit pricy though. But the rice portions are huge. Loved the momos there

Very Good. Not crowded at all. Being in medavakkam, this is the place me n my hubby choose to have a peaceful dinner.
Food :
Almost everything tastes good. We mostly have veg. We often prefer soya chilli momos, Chilli Garlic Noodles, Lung fung soup, Manchurians , Sizzling brownie with choc n icecream.. I personally like Creamcheese wontons, but my hubby don't.
Service :
Good. But their bill includes service charges with service tax, where the charges will be higher.
Price :
Bit costly. But worth for the food and quantity. Only thing which bothers me, the service charge (though i know, it's not mandatory to pay as per the law, we do pay).
This is another daily serve restaurant with loads of items on the menu and you won't find it hard to order something which you would like. However according to myself the preparation is very common and there is nothing special to try out. A good place for a weekend party or treat for friends and family. Home delivery is good too though there is a chance of improvement.
I ordered 5 colour fried rice once and got it delivered. The complimentary sauce was good but wasn't enough for the full meal. Cost is affordable and ambience is good.

Awesome place to hang out with friends. Awesome food in terms of quality, quantity, taste and also worth the price. The starters, main, to desserts, all taste delicious and there's no regret once u step out of the restaurant.

This is a place that never fails me, hmmmm actually it did once, but 1 out of 15-20 times is something that can be ignored. The ambience and the service is very good. You can take your friends and sit there for as much time as you want.
The soups are real good, The Great Wall chicken soup being my favourite. The starters are all equally good and I cannot pick one or other. The one which failed me was grilled fish in banana leaf. So I am keeping away from it. The fried rice and the mains are also very good. You buy one portion of fried rice and two people can easily share it. Red wine chicken is awesome and goes well with their fried rice. I once tried being a vegetarian here and it's equally great.
Just stay away from seafood, you will be a happy person.
It's a bit pricey but worth it.
The quality of food and the efficiency of the staff at the cascade, medavakkam never fails to amaze me. Keep up the good work. Even though the time stated for delivery is 60 mins, they ensure that the order is delivered to your doorstep in 30 minutes.

Fried vegetables wontons - Tasted good, the outer layer was really crispy and the stuffing was soft & tasty complementing the outer layer well. This dish can very well serve as a snack while watching an interesting match live:)
Thai veg curry - Served with steam rice this was one hell of a curry, we could directly taste it like a broth. Generous amount of veggies, with right mix of lemon grass & coconut curry. Just divine.
Hakka veg noodles - Soft and not overpowering flavour, the dish was decent.
This place is total value for money as the portion they deliver is very large in quantity.
One of the few restaurants in Chennai where you get authentic Chinese cuisine. Even after repeated orders or visits over last 4 years never ate a substandard food from them. Consistent quality. Simple and great.
AUTHENTIC CUISINE HUMONGOUS PORTION GROUP DINING ADVISED
This review is bit old but I think stays valid. I have had Chinese items in many places but this one is the master of all.
There soups are huge can easily fill for 3 to 4 adults. This stays true for the rest of their dishes also. This is the reason they have to be visited in groups rather than as a single person or couple. The interiors are soothing and much similar to their outlet in Bessy.
Location is a bit difficult to find even though they are in a great location because of their dark ambience and dull boards. One has to search for them then only they can find these guys which is a major drawback.
Service is very good. The waiters will have a close watch on your and they will come when you show a gesture that you require them. Don't mistake for the nagging type.
Overall a great experience to dine with them
Crispy mushroom was made best when I went. A must try dish here, other than that singapore noodles was okay. Quantity is heavy one is enough for two

Ambience is ok, nothing out of the ordinary. The walls were a little unclean. One thing that bothered me was the arrangement of tables. It looked like thay have put in some extra tables to take advantage of the unused space. Service was good and prompt. Food seemed to be a just a tad overpriced. Overall, not many complaints.

1.) If you are looking for an authentic Chinese food near Medavakkam then The Cascade is worth a visit.

3.) Must try dish - Grilled Nam Prik Fish - in banana leaf
4.) Other worth mentioning dishes - Chicken momo is very good.

I am looking for dinner with my family in Cascade Medavakkam on last friday we are five and went for dinner there the ambience was perfect and warm greetings food portion was excellent i dont know the portion size but Naulak who took the order he was polite and tell me the portion size he was excellent in guest relation n service smile at any time service with nhappiness i will comment to my friend and come back for dinner thank you Naulakand your staff.Best of luck.
After the sky opened and poured all it can, on Tuesday we visited this place. Except for few items rest are okay, nothing exceptional. My order was Hot & Sour SoupFour Colour Chicken Dimsum, Prawn Pepper Celery, Steamed Rice, Thai Chicken Red Curry. Thai red curry with steam rice was good. Prawn Pepper Celery was a disappointment for a guy who almost eats everyday outside. No celery on PPC. Soup was good and generous. Need to be careful of what we order, the quanity is good and large.
The Cascade did not live upto the expectation. The food was fairly satisfactory but one could say there was nothing standing out. The setting was also rather conventional for a place that charges above average rates.
Adding up to all these , there was also a delay in serving also. Its a place that has a lot of room for improvement . Its wouldnt fall into a regular eat out joint.

Given that this place had a good rating and was very pocket friendly, this place was on my mustvisits for a long time.

The menu was very normal looking, nothing fancy but clearly written, it mainly consisted of Chinese dishes
We ordered, sweet corn chicken soup, chicken momos for starters, The soup was good and soothing, given that I had a sore throat. but tasted good, the quantity was however more than expected. The momos tasted weird, I wouldn't say it was bad but it dint really go well with me.Main courde is good The fried ice cream was fine but tasted like powder on the crust, thought it could have been better. The strawberry shake was bad, I dint like it well. Overall food experience was average, nothing that I could rave about. I don't really think it really lives up to the rating and I'm quiet surprised!
The bill worked out to Rs1000/- which was fair enough, very pocket friendly. We were offered finger bowls after we complained that the washroom didn't have water. I must say the staff were very courteous and accommodating.
We were looking for some place near my house to have fried ice cream, so we ended up here. This has been a favorite dining place for our family as this the only place that provides authentic Chinese food. We were 5 of us, we all decided to have something light and a dessert each. We ordered chicken manchow soup, dragon chicken, chicken momo. The soup was good, but not the best manchow I have tasted. The dragon chicken and momo tasted amazing. For dessert we ordered, sizzling hot brownie, fried ice cream, toffee banana, iced lychee and peach Melba. We had a bite each in all and I loved toffee banana better. In peach Melba, the vanilla ice cream didn't go well with peach. Fried ice cream was awesome as usual so we ended up ordering an another plate.
The ambience was very good, the seating was spacious and comfortable. Overall it's a wonderful place to visit if u love Chinese food.

This place was a nice discovery to have great Chinese food in my neighborhood. The food is excellent and so is the service. The prize may look high on menu but the quantity of food is good enough for atleast 2 people for most dishes.

Well its a fine place to visit for chinese food .. Maybe not comparable to wangs and mainland china but its good i liked the food.. The chicken drumsticks were yummy n crispy.. The milkshake was a disaster otherwise ok not a bad place to visit once in a while

First to mention is the ambience. It was very quiet all thorough our dinner. We were there for more than 3 hours.
And then, the quantity was so huge. each item (soup, started, main course) can be shared by 3 people. Then, the price of all the items are very low.
We went as 3 people and it costs 950 totally. The service of the waiters are very polite and they responded even before we ask them . Just by what we look at.
The taste of Starter was very good. Main course was also good. Soup was Ok. Soup could have been better.

After going through some dark green ratings, we decided to give 'The Cascade' a visit. Booked a table for 3 over the phone(for 7:15 pm). With the warnings about car parking in the previous reviews, we decided to ride in my bike. It turned out to be a wise decision as the parking was full already.
Interiors and ambience were very impressive. Again the warnings from the previous reviews came as a saviour in ordering as well. We ordered vegetable hunai soup, cream cheese wonton and popiya (vegetable spring roll). Wonton was amazingly good. For main course we ordered vegetable ball manchurian and vegetable fried rice. Fried rice was excellent and manchurian was alright. But the last two vegetable balls were half cooked which was the only let down.
With courteous staffs, this is one place I will visit often.
A pleasant ambience with efficient staff. Suitable for a quite and pleasing family dinner. The vegetarian dishes are well prepared and goes well with either rice or noodles. I loved the chicken and veg. Momos. Though slightly expensive the staff give you a heads up on the quantity of rice and noodles which helps a lot to order appropriately.
Landed at this place as we found other restaurants in the area overcrowded being a Saturday evening , good tasty food, the quantity serves with every dish is of typical Chinese style ,humongous ! Must try their crispy prawns and momos.

Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Not fully crowded. Service was fast and portions were of God quantity. The atmosphere could be a bit more brighter and fresh. Seemed a bit gloomy. The Cutlery definitely needs to be upgraded. The spoons and forks seem very used and old.
The chilli beef was slightly overcooked and chewy. Else the food was good.

Cascade never let you down. We have been going to this restaurant for the past 11 years and it has not let us down even once.
Some might find it too pricey, but for the service and the quality of food, I would say it is okay.
The spread is awesome and can make both vegetarians and non-vegetarians equally happy.

The food was good, and it will be served in an ordered manner(spicy/medium spicy).... Taste wise also good and no restrictions on table timings. Kids can taste and enjoy the food.
Good place. Very courteous staff and reasonable price for the cusine. Their crab meat soup was perfect and dragon chicken tasted like it didn't have enough time with the sauce. Phuket fish was overcooked and bitter, sadly had to return it. A must try place for authentic Chinese.

As usual All the dishes were good with huge portions, except Veg 🥦🥕🌽 fried rice.
They never disappoint you with taste, always good experience to eat here as a foodie . But the price is high, also they charge you service tax which is not mandatory to collect based on government order . Still I will visit again to try more here .
It was great ambiance to have night dinner. I have specifically went to eat "Fish in Banana Leaf" and "Tom Yum" soup. Both are so delicious. That salty taste in fish in so yummyyyyy... I would seriously suggest any one to try that. Even though it's kind of costly but I would say it's up to the quality. Staff handling also professional. They served the order of food perfect and wait for us to finish our current dish. After order, if you ask menu again they specifically give dessert menu instead of regular. I just happy with this kind of professionalism.
