Best place for an Afternoon Meals. Spotted AVK Mess and indeed welcomed me with an open kitchen with some carving fish fry smell. Meals was reasonable and delicious. Side dishes were mostly Kerala style as the owner is from Kerala. Vanjram Fish Fry was super spicy and authentic. Not for the ambience but for the taste they deliver it is a must try at AVK. A bit highly priced for the fish fry they serve, but indeed it is a one time delight. Do try the Masala Omelette as well. So good a hospitality by the staff and hope to turn out again for some dinner special dishes.
A small mess in a narrow lane in Saligramam, with no parking facilities. Seating capacity is for maximum 15 people only and take away may be better option for families.
They serve simple meals with fish curry. Add ons will be all kinds of fish fry viz Vanjaram, Ayla etc.
Meals is INR 70 and big Vanjaram fry is 300 INR.
Vanjaram was top notch with their home made masala.
Fish fry masala will stay on your tongue for a long time.
Must try place, if you don’t mind eating in a cramped space.

Strictly for fish lovers
Don't be fooled by the ambience it's better if u get the sumptuous spicy slightly oily fish as take away. The meals part s just if u want to complete with rice and vegetables, don't even bother to analyse the taste of fish curry or vegetables. The fish fry and the crusty paste on top will make u forgive everything else, the place s open only for lunch and u should be early to get fish. Have seen lot of film company tiffin carriers whisking away in dozens. Be early pack it and eat it comfortably. U ll want to try again for sure. And not much choices it's usually only one type of fish fry but it's plain tasty with a capital T!!!!!
A Great Food at nominal price, Meals INR 60 and Vajaram Fish 180 (Big in Size).. Only Four tables occupany of Ten members at a time. Good taste with good serve

A perfect meal :- even though I heard and stay very close by to this small mess I was not so interested in trying out the place until I saw a post and pictures of the food (fish) on a FB forum.
Immediately the next day I went and tried the meals and fish fry. The fish was vanjaram and was humongous. Easily should have weighed 200grms.Cooked perfect with spicy and with the masala on top with curry leaves, the fish served piping hot melted in my mouth like butter. In fact if I dint order the meal I could have had one more fish.
I generally have a huge appetite and eat well.when the meals was served first I thought the rice would not be sufficient enough for my appetite.But end of the day, the fish filled my huge tummy perfectly.The meals has one poriyal and koottu. Apart from that was fish kolambu, sambar, rasam and buttermilk. The fish kolambu was excellent.It was mildly spicy with perfect tangyness to it. I almost ate all the rice with the fish kolambu.
The sambar and rasam was normal like the home cooked ones but with the combination of the fish made it deadly. On top of the fish tre was lot of masala which curry leaves which added more flavour and gave the fish an excellent and out of the world unique taste. Plain rice mixed with the fish masala and fish was lip smacking.
The first taste of the fish took me to a bliss. I had to pause for few seconds to control the emotions my brain was emitting rapidly. The fish triggered the right sense and taste buds in every bite I had. The meat literally fell apart like petals of a rose. Can surely say that this is one of the best fish I have ever had in my life.
The fish was 160rs and the meals was 80rs. Both my heart and stomach were contempt. Only one small issue was that the tables were not cleaned properly. Seating is an issue and the place needs to be cleaned nicely that is why I have cut 0.5 from the rating. But that doesn't matter when the fish literally makes u swim in a pond of emotions( fish pun lol)

Good fish meals hotel. It is popular here for the variety of fishes and home made meals. Fish Fry costs from 120-180 rupees depending on size. Meals cost just 50 rupees.But the fish fry here is just awesome.We ordered two meals and two fish fry(130 Rs). Overall bill for two person 360 rs.
Friend suggested this place and we went for lunch...only four tables were there....food will be served in banana leaf you can have veg / non veg meals with 2 poriyal.....this place has a lot of fish varieties and will be charged from 50 to 150 depends on the fish and the market price....it's a good place who likes south indian fish curry with fish fry at nominal price....their buttermilk is sooooooooo good
This place has probably the best fish fry meal ever. The masala they use is absolutely delicious. The prices vary according to the type of fish they have on that particular day. The meals with some kind of vegetable koottu (usually cabbage), fish curry (without pieces), pickle, sambar, appallam, and buttermilk. Meals come with unlimited rice and sides.It's a very, very small place and it can barely seat around 12 people all at once. Takeaway is recommended if you live nearby.

This is a small shop near my home. It is popular here for the variety of fishes and home made meals. Meals cost just 50 rupees and its very limited and okayish in taste. But the fish fry here is just awesome. It costs from 90-180 ruppees depending on variety. Better as takeaway than eating there.
Best place where you get Good Fish fry in Kerala style at a reasonable price. As told by other visitors the ambience is not that good, I guess because of which they're able to provide Fish at affordable price !

Feeling homesick? Try this place out. They serve only meals and fish fry (Nothing else). Their fish fry is a must have. They make their own Masala, which is quite unique and spicy. It's a small corner shop, so don't expect a good ambience. They open only for lunch. One can see a good crowd by 12:30 pm. They often sell out by 2:30 pm.
Raiting 5 for their awesome fish fry! No ambience, only meals and fish fry. the shop is very small. But the Fish fry has an out of the world taste. The fish looks huge, mostly seer (vanjiram) or seela - so fresh and juicy with their secret ingredient masala which they will provide for rice also. Price for a fish fry varies from 100 to 150 based on market price. Everyone should try if you are a sea food lover.
Heard this place from YouTube videos and other reviews. Very less space, but got seats after few mins. Food is ok, but expensive. Not so great. Not bad as well. Fish fry was good. (Expensive for Paarai fish fry -400₹)…

Vanjram fish is particularly an excellent dish here. Ask for the big vanjaram and you'll have a good time eating that delicacy. The meals are also good with a good amount of rice. Other seafood items also have an amazing taste!
Fish fry is so good but meals isn't that good. Vanjaram fry is available for 350, 450 rupees.

Tried after 3 years, had delicious vavval fish(Rs.380), it was so tasty 😋! 2 person can have 1 with their meals.

Visited this place after seeing it on social media (behindwoods). The food is excellent nd cheaper compared to many restaurants.Fish masala and mango thokku is awesome . U can get Fish curry ,karuvadu curry chicken curry ,mutton curry sambar and rasam. Must pay for extra rice .Chechi welcomes and serves humble

Taste: Enjoyed the fish varieties with my family. Must try vanjaram and ayila. Meals are also good, like their name Veetu Saapadu kind of.
Service: Nice but in peek time lacking in numbers. We need some patience.
