Gangotree is definitely one among my go to places for deliciously lip smacking evening bites. I do order from this place quite a while to satisfy my cravings for chaat items on any given day.
Chaat items are simply awesome and are mostly authentic. Dahi based chaat items like dahi papdi chaat and dahi puri are drool worthy. Special mention about their dahi, that is of right consistency an not like diluted versions that are found elsewhere. Even their bhel puri is simply awesome.
Good thing about online delivery from this place is their packing. It is perfectly intact even on any bumpy roads, unlike many other restaurants out there.
If you are craving for some delicious and authentic chaat items, then give this place a try. you are sure to be delighted.

Today there was an offer on a food aggregator and hence we ordered quite a few chats like Dhai Puri , samosa channa , both excellent , then it was Pani Puri which was good and Bhel Puri which was not great . Oops forgot to mention about Samosa and Kachori which was very nice also . It’s a bit pricey place but lucky to get it on offer so we ordered .
This is quite a old brand name in Chat segment and they doing a good job this far . I did not visit the outlet since I got the stuff delivered home so cannot comment on the place . A good place for chat lovers and my recommendation would be Dhai Puri hands up .
Favourite chaat spot to frequent. This branch of Gangotree serves some amazing chaats. What do I try out frequently? Here it goes :
1. Vada Pav (5/5) - My favourite from Gangotree. I'd definitely pick this over everything else. Two Vada pavs accompanied with chilli bhaji, sauce and chilli-mint chutney are served.
2. Pani Puri (5/5) - Best best Pani puris. The ones here can never go bad.
3. Dabeli (3/5) - Not a huge fan of Dabeli. But definitely worth a try. Served with sauce and chilli-mint chutney.

This outlet is in Anna Nagar East, located at main road of shanti colony.Lot of people visit here as it had some best sellers like pav bhaji and rolls etc.
Had chatt and dessert here n number of time and just gonna share few pics and a small review of this outlet .The quantity for parcel is worth it.What I felt was the kachori and samosas could be even more better.Bengali sweets are awesome here.
The rate here is high compared to others shops but worth the money as they serve high standard and quality items here.
Yaaay! I feel like I found a worthy place to have my kind of big and fluffy rasgullas and every Bengali snack at the most traditional way and Tastes authentic too. ever Bengali snack is best served.
If u really like to taste some good real vanilla icecream tht too with large quantity fr low price then i ll say this place.. i ll feel the real taste in this place, nt in creamy inn and nt in other packed icecreams ... i love this place for icecream .. they have a large varieties of sweets but never tasted it but i like chat items hr.. do taste paneer kati roll...... i give 4 because they used to clean the floor while v eat i personally dont recommend tht...
Overpriced Chaat!! Good food though... You know something's up when dahi Puri costs 80 rupees. And the vada pav was 80 too😭😭. It would truly be a great place if they could reduce the prices.....
One of the best chaat places in Anna Nagar. The pani poori, Dhai poori and channa are few of my favourites. Can't visit them to savour your taste buds then order online 😊

An another outlet, as silent as other outlets. Nice cozy place to crash in for evening snack. You should wait for your dish to come, as it will be crowded in evenings.

Pani Poori and Dhokla are my favorites here. In comparison to the other Gangotrees in town, this one has got a decent seating capacity but Parking is still an issue like in Gopalapuram or T.nagar.

Gangotree is one of the safe option for chat. This place is easy to locate. In the Shanthi colony. Follow the map but it was pinned in opposite side of the road. It is near the first right when you heading thirumangalam side in that road.
Parking could be an issue. Hardly one or 2 vehicles at best can be parked in front of the shop. If full use the nearby road to park the vehicles. Ambiance is good. It was bigger than I expected. Self service place. May be crowded at times. Speed of serving food is reasonable.
Ordered Bhel poori, Pav bhaji and Vada pav as takeaway. Packing is decent but can be improved. Especially for pav and Vada pav. Bhel poori was excellent in taste while pav bhaji is just ok. Not that great. Vada pav my friend had said good.
Price is reasonable. Value for money.
This eatery has been there since my early school days. I went there last weekend, so this review is a sort of a tribute to this place.
The chaat here is bang on the money. Consistency is great. They get it right all the time. From my 6th grade till now.. which is around 16 years now.
Gangotree, The place which gives me the best chat experience. If someone asks me for the best chat shop, i would blindly recomend this place. Panipuri, bhelpuri, dahipuri and everyother mainstream chat items tasted the best here. I would like to mention the sandwiches i ordered, both the veg grilled and the muruk sandwich, they were just wow. They tasted perfect with perfectly melted cheese. Icecreams here has let me down. But the sweets, especially the kaju roll with caramel stuffing will make you stonned. In love with this place. The ambience is descent with descent spacing and the service good and professional.

Wow! want some chats? come here. Just went here with my cousins to try a different place.This was very fine! Fantastic chat items,All chats are almost very good. Panipoori, dhahi chats, etc.. Please dont try DHOKLA. It's yuckk! Other than that, everything is fine. But little costly here.The ambiance is soo good. One can enjoy with friends family or cousins..Out there are many local shops where chats are awesome, but since this is like a big one, it sounds fair and decent. The deserts are too good but not unique, its just usual. Rasamalai was too normal like badam milk no nuts anything .. Didnt like that much, anyways great to have lots inside. Overall very good. enjoyable for kids and family.!
Perfect place to get north indian chat items. Pani puri ,bhel puri etc. Ice cream with chocolate dip is worth for money and tasted good.they fill it to the bottom of the cone. Got a mixed feeling with mango juice as its syrup based. It tastes good though.
This is one of the fanous places to get chat and savouries and sweets. The price is a little bit on the higher side but we can understand why it is like that. The tastes are somewhat inconsistent. You wont get the same taste when you taste the same food again.
The Vanila Ice Cream is my favourite. I can have how many ever i want.
This place serves best dahi puri and pani puri. Used to be a regular visitor during my school days. It is located on the main road of Shanthi Colony so it is not that hard to locate. Parking over here is a big trouble that to during peak hours. They have very limited seating so mostly ppl prefer takeaways. Working staff are very less hospitable. Price of every item is little bit higher than the other eateries.

Location & Delivery: Ordered from Gangotree via Swiggy. The delivery was prompt and on-time as per the mentioned time.
Packing: The food was packed okay. No major spillage but the dhokla box was wet because of the oil. Also I didn’t like the way the Vada Pav was smashed and rolled; may be a box for the vada pav and a tight container for dhokla would have made it look good without spillage.
Taste & Variety: There were sumptuous varieties but I always order two items, if I like these two then it means the place serves good chat item. So I ordered Vada Pav and Plain Dhokla. Taste wise the dhokla was really good with the chutney. The vada pav was good but I missed the pickled chilli and I hated the deep-fried chilly in bajji batter.
Quality & Quantity: The portion size is perfect for one. And quality wise no complaints.
Price: There was an additional delivery charge of Rs.30 INR and the bill was Rs.129 INR (i.e. Rs.99 INR without delivery charges). For the brand they have formed in Chennai can’t expect them to price any less.

Not being a fan of chaat myself I've mostly had just their pav bhaji.
My friends love their Pani Puri that they serve in like an inbuilt stall inside gangotree. Their prices are obviously higher than usual but they've been offering them with consistent taste and quality for quite a long time.
Seating has around 4 or 5 small tables that can seat upto 15 persons.
Located in a very busy shanti colony....a good place to have chats with your friends

One of the greatest pleasures of life, is going for a quick Pani Puri snack. Said my friend. 'Gangotree' is one of that kind of place which fulfill your tummy pleasure! It has been more than a year I’m having snacks from there. I tried Chaats (most of all) and milkshakes from there. All are fantastic. The best part is that, the Chaats they provide never go out of taste. Talking about Milkshakes, they are not making shakes in a usual kind of mixer. Yes! You heard it! It’s a special blender that they are using. Which I think the secret behind their recipe. But, I’m not happy with the quantity of shake drink they provided. It’s such a small quantity that I didn’t feel any fulfillment. But, the taste on the other hand, Is simply amazing.
One thing I have to say is the ambiance. Unfortunately, they are providing very beggarly atmosphere for that wonderful food. The service is not up to the mark.

Gangotree comes to my mind, the minute I crave for chaat. This outlet has stood the test of time and trust me, it's one place that serves lip-smacking chaats in Anna Nagar!
It's a self service outlet. The chaats here are unbelievable. Their Pani Puri is worth talking about. Unlike many places, they serve it with both the spicy and sweet chutney to balance the flavour and give that amazing feel one gets after having a Pani Puri 😍😅. Their Bhel Puri, Aloo Puri are delicious as well.
Apart from chaats, they do serve softys and milkshakes, that one needs to have after having the fiery chaats. They do have a sweet section that serves authentic North Indian sweets and savouries.
On the whole, It's one place which never disappoints when it comes to chaats!

Had dhoklas and pani puri. Taste was average but prices were something unexpected. We took some sweets as well, which were decently priced as per other places in the market. Taste although was pretty good.

Gangotree is a favourite amongst chennaiites for Chaat and true to its name - it never disappoints in terms of taste. This particular outlet is quite spacious and well lit in comparison to their others with a capacity to seat about 40 people.
Pani puri, Bhel Puri and Kulfi are their must tries IMO. Great taste and quality. However, i always end up wondering if their price justifies the quantity?
Best chat in Chennai is available here..tastes magical ..can close ur eyes.. enjoy and eat..but I always prefer takeaway coz the plate they serve is too uncomfortable.. Otherwise I would recommend it to anyone

Saw this place while roaming around with a friend... So just stopped and decided to have a falooda and kati rolls! Kati rolls was absolutely yummy!! And they even give you whatever chutney you ask for...! Falooda was really tasty and the khus khus was the high point.
Don't know how I missed this place for so long... Going to visit the place again for sure!
One of the oldest and famous north Indian chat stall. They have lot of Laddu varieties. It's awesome but on the pricey side. Basunthi must have here.
The best place for paani puri,sev puri and channa samosa in chennai. Each of the previously mentioned items are worth dying for individually and collectively they give u a glimpse of the chaat paradise. Not to be missed.
Been here fir years... Best fr casual hangout with friends n couples...crowded by evenings n weekends. Best for chaats, chenna masala and vadapav are bigtime favs. Soft excellent doklas and dry gulab jamoons. Spicy pani puri n yummiest rasamalai... Must try!!

Good place for evening snack. It was quiet spacious.. But there were less number of tables and the tables are small. We ordered panipuri first.. Panipuris - okay level. The panipuris lost the original taste cz of smashed potatoes and the sweet paani.. Masala tawa pav was good. Masala kaati roll didn't get to the expectation.. Dhoklas are one to try! They were good :). Malai kulfi - best.The place was clean.. Overall a good place to enjoy evening snack..

Best place to get chat food in chennai. Has a good palatable food and u can have a great time with friends. The place is quite small though and the ambience is not upto the mark. But I'd give 4 stars for the food they serve though :-P
Must visit place if you are a chat lover... The panipuri served here is the best in town and addictive... Other item that I liked most here are vada pav, pavbaji, Bombay sandwich, masala puri, dahipuri, sevpuri and dahi papdi chat.... all the items i had here are rich in taste and served quickly.... I have visited several times this outlet and the other outlets in tnagar and rksalai... Taste are consistent across and are crowded in all evenings... Price was nominal and Worthy...

I love this place...their chaat items are mouth watering and I had my first cola float here years ago...its a good hangout place for friends or family...the items are priced nominally...my favs are pani puri, pav bhaji, their channa chaats, cola float/fizz, milk sweets...if u are shopping around Shanthi colony and want to take a break this place is a good option..
Nice place for the evening chat. i heard that black current shake is served best here, I always pass by this place but never got a chance to go here . So finally I did after long time the wait came to end. i ordered black current shake and dahi puri! black current shake is the best i ever tasted.

they serve amazing chaats, bhel puri, paani puri, dahi chaat, name it you will get the best. mooti choor laddoos are too good.. vanilla ice cream with choco dip is good. but i really cant tell if it is worth that money. i dont like the handwash area. and there are not many chairs to sit..
Till date, an amazing place to drop in whenever the thought of having a chat pops up...though its mostly crowded and the noise levels are high, its one of the best in its kind.. The aroma of blended masalas with dahi.. Pani.. Sev.. Bhel.. Katoris.. Puris etc on one side with cheeses n sandwiches and butter on the other.. Accompanied by thick shakes to enjoy the delicacies.. Worth visiting whenever possible.. its within the budget range too and doesn't affect the pocket's weight much.
Loved this place a lot. Had been here on a Sunday night. I had ordered a Raj Kachori. The Kachori was very tasty. I felt like it did meet the standards of the same when I had eaten it in Jaipur. Usually the curd what they use in other places won't be sweet and not thick. Here they had made a perfect Raj Kachori. All the ingredients were of good quality and was in sync. Loved the place. Hoping to try all the chats and review further. Cheers!!
A chat food lovers delight. Nothing much to add but this place gets 100 / 100 for its pani puri. Compared to the other outlets, what I love here is the space for dining. However, staff here over the years have been growing largely unfriendly. The rating above is only for the food and space, for staff behavior, the rating is largely 'zero'.

Their CHAAT items are real good and can even be customized a bit to suit one's pallete!

Gangotree dhoklas are the BEST!!!! that being said, im a huge fan of all the chat items they have. The seating arrangement inside gangotree is not really good. The ambience too is not great. But this is compensated by some simply delicious food!

It's my first visit this branch. Tasted at EA's outlet lot of times. It's also located on the Right hand side of Shanti Colony main road.
After having a light dinner at Sree Akshyam, was craving for some dessert. So decided to have sweets here with my friend.
It's a sweet shop with chaats, Ice creams & Softies. We have ordered a Gulab Jamuns & Dahi Tikka.
Gulab jamun was tasted gud with some nuts in the middle. But it's smaller & not worth for Rs.25 each.
Dahi tikka was also decent. It costs Rs.41. Pretty decent as well.
They have lots of varieties of sweets ranges from 500-1200 per kg. I feel that cost of chaats are reasonable & sweets are expensive here.
This is a chaat corner n known for their amazingly delicious rasgollas..they are fluffy bouncy n soft :)..all the chaat items are reasonably priced..a place to catch up with friends over a snack..the ambience is good bt nthn special or over the top:)

Yum! Lovely chaat items. Sweets are good too. Whenever our family wants some reminder of our food legacy, we head to this place. Items are pricey to be frank but the food is really mouth-watering. I loved the dahi papdi chaat. Decor is average and so is the layout, but nobody is looking around because everybody is busy with their food. It is self-service. Can't wait to go again!

This is my go to place to have sev puri and samosa chaat! although I feel the quality has deteriorated a tad bit! Great service , but the management should make some plans to better the seating arrangement keeping the crowd in mind ;-)

A massive favourite in Madras for the locals and visitors alike. The quality has remained the same over the years and they have set a benchmark for chaat items for anyone else looking to emulate. Comparisons always tend to be “it’s better at Gangotree” or simply “you can’t beat Gangotree.” Anyone like myself returning to Chennai on a holiday from abroad, the holiday is never complete without a mandatory visit to Gangotree. If one has to be really picky with anything, it has nothing to do with the food - there is absolutely no place to park and you might feel like a frog crossing the road from the famous arcade game
Good and hygienic North Indian chat corner. Not very spicy but bot costly. Parking for 4 wheelers will be a problem.

One of the best places to go to. Love their Dahi and Pani Puris. I love their Agra Pedas as well. I tried their Dhoklas too sans kadi though ... Now they have Deepavali special (check the pics out).
