A real pathetic service is what made me give this rating. We visited the restaurant on a hot sunny noon and to our horror we found that there were some party happening in their air conditioned hall and we were made to sit in the no AC hall.
In sweltering heat, we ordered food as we had come over. The taste was not that great. Well, you can’t expect anything more for a meal which is priced at ₹90 per plate.
While we were about to complete our meal, my Mom found a plastic thing on her food. When we took it to the attention of the restaurant, instead of being apologetic, they went offensive and we were blamed as if we planted it there and were offered free coffee/drink. We felt it would be an insult, if we accept these generous offer and walked out after paying for our food.
Will never ever step inside any of their restaurants...

Post this, I received the call from the restaurant manager Mr.Raju who got in touch with me apologising for their mistake & regretted for not making my experience, a pleasant one. This time, we got the best of the service and attention and hence I have change my rating. As you could see from my above post - I gave the rating only because of the unpleasant experience but they set it right by exceeding our expectations/experience.
The staffs literally pampered us with the delicacies ranging from mushroom, Paneer, cauliflower starters apart from Sambar Rice, Spl Thali, Mushroom Fried Rice, Cauliflower Schezwan Fried Rice, Lemon Juice, Mysorepa, Fruit Salads, Vegetable Salads, Butter Scotch ice-Cream.
Last but not the least, we were given their special item “Veg Paaya” with Parotta. Trust me, it was the best ever, I had (probably because it was the first time 😂) Be there 😍
My best wishes to the team. He wasn’t there when this happened last time. He has even agreed to get some training imparted for their staffs with regards to customer experience which my dad will deliver as per their convenience, free of cost 😊

Had a work nearby, was looking for nice food and craving some spice, this came closer to me in the map. The service was quick. Ordered masala dosa - not very oily, good amount of masala and half cripsy, half soft - PERFECT.
Also the barotta Kurma was nice.
I was going that way, it was breakfast time, spot this restaurant, immediately went in. It is very easy to locate. Such a big banner, one can't miss it. Parking is manageable in roadside in front of restaurant.
Ambiance is decent. One big hall with limited seating. Never thought that it would be that spacious. It was deserted when I went. Service is good. Even food came super quick.
I ordered pongal with Vadai and Podi onion uthappam. Both are good. Sambar and chutney accompanied to it also tasted good. Requested for extra podi topping in uthappam which came out well like I expected. Price is reasonable. Value for money. Worth a visit.
So this is a cumulative review of my last 3 visits to this place. The ambience is ok (too hot inside). But the food compensates for that. First visit ordered kuzhi paniyaram and coffee. The paniyaram size was decent and it was soft. The batter was Not too sour and not too salty. Just perfect. In my second visit ordered Parotta and Jigarthanda. The kurma was Same as what you would come across in such restaurants. Parotta was soft and layered. But the highlight was Jigarthanda. All the layers were fresh and the pista ice cream float was the best I had in years. In my third visit I had a bad throat. But since it was late to prepare dinner at home, I went here and ordered Appam with milk. For sore throat it was easy to swallow. But the idly I ordered by the side was not ok. Little dull.

Namma veedu Vasanta bhavan. It surely feels like eating at home be it the hospitality and services. Decided to go for a take away. Idli, vada, pongal, masala dosa. The quantity of sambar and chutnies they packed was good enough. Everything tasted good expect the masala dosa with was the spoil sport. Everyone loved the pongal. It was the winner for sure. Hands down!! I always make it a point to have their pongal.

Podi dosai is still their best. Location of this particular outlet is the key. Fast moving consumers are their customers. Come in. Eat and go home quick.
This restaurant is divided into 2... one is the non AC and the other is with AC... I visited the AC section and wasn't disappointed at all. I tasted Chinna Vengayam Podi Uttapam and really loved it... It is a variant of Onion Uttapam mixed with small onions with a kind of dry chutney powder masala spread over it... The sambar was quite tasty... I also had Appam and the kurma was quite nice... The interiors looked OK, more of like an attached hall with less crowd but the food is definitely good... Recommend it completely

I found this place in zomato, which is just diagonally opposite to ambica empire.
The ambience was great. The hospitality was too good ... just felt like my home place.
And now comes the food... they served us amazing food. It's probably the best food I've ever tasted in chennai.
It's quite reasonable too.
PS : if u visit it once ... u r gonna visit this amazing restaurant again and again

Ambiance - Excellent
Food - A+(Very Good) beautiful buffet with a perfect customized menu suggested by Mr Rajkumar (Floor Manager)
Hospitality - Good
Service Levels - Good
Hall Decorations - Very nice sat with the decorator and had a customized theme done & execution and delivery levels where really good (Input to output there was no variance against the commitment by decorator)
End to End - Great experience these people are professional and very good at anything you seek for... Final Rating - 5

It was my last day in Chennai and was bored of eating in-room dining at Ambica Empire. I opened the Zomato app & found this hotel which was diagonally opposite to Ambica Empire. I had read the reviews and was fascinated to visit Namma Veedu, the name itself was quite interesting. The hospitality was good. I had chinna vengayam podi utthappam which was served hot with chutney & sambhar, cute mini idlis dipped in vengayam cum mulangi sambhar & finally to complete the meal I had hot filter kapi. I left the hotel fully satisfied. It cost me around Rs.167/- which I feel is quite reasonable.
Had my breakfastva few minutes ago at this place after almost 2 years. Its less pretentious than its more illustrated cousins and dare i say the food distinctly better and more filling....great rava dosa and Kapi...for a reasonable amount i say...makes my Chennai visits really worthwhile
It's one of the finest restaurants in chennai where you can taste the authentic South Indian meals, ambience was good & staffs were very friendly. Must try place for the veggies
Thalli is what we south indians are specialise in and Vasanta bhavan has the best.
Service is prompt and are very friendly and needful too.

This branch was right opposite to my hotel where i stayed and the food given was high quality with great taste at a very less price when compared to the 3-5 star hotel i was staying at...
So i preferred coming here every night as long as i was in chennai...

Been here, I think price is quite high but you will get the quality for that price. Not often but you can surely try once. If you like then go for it ,a good veg restaurant.

Service was quick..had a chole nature and coffee..service was quick.. Quantity was good too... One huge nature with a big bowl of chole (south indian style)..

I am not sure actually, but other Vasanth bhavans are not this bad. This one in particular is not really that good.
If you are looking for a party space within the city, definitely this place can be considered. Mainly had sufficient parking space for cars. Food was average, comfortable for gathering of 100 people.
It was a great place before years and now the place is not at the peak expectations. The only good thing about this place is ample parking for cars and bikes. Food is comparatively better but not as par as with the Vasantha Bhavan standards. Most of thr items in the menu aren't available when we visited. Service quality of employees is satisfactory and nothing to comment negative on it. Overall food experience needs to be monitored and improved to make things better at this dining.
This is a fantastic place for a get together. Ample parking space, Fantastic food, Clean and Hygiene, Good service. I ordered North Indian Thali for lunch and I loved the food. Overall experience was Excellent.

Staying at Ginger Vadapalani Vasantha bhavan was our eat stop for 3 days. We had nice experience here 3-4 times we visited for both breakfast and dinner. The price were reasonable and the quality/quantity/taste were up to the mark. They have ample parking space inside and also a function hall in the compound. The staff / service were very good.
