We are locating shop for chaat items, ofcouse there so many in Chennai, but “Shubh”is excellent of all above. All items are very good. Delhi ki yaad aa Gayi . Every one must try this. Yummm...... I will visit further. One thing to be add here by that,one portion they have to convert A/C, as summer is already start.
I had food from shubh today and it was simply delicious.the packing was classy.the portions were generous .I highly recommend shubh.a must frequent visit restaurant

I will recommend this place to have some good Chat items and sweets. Authentic sweets and chat dishes available. I did try the Punjabi thali and certainly enjoyed it. Pasta, sandwiches and other fast eats are also available. Wide variety of dishes, good service with a decent sit out area.

I had bookmarked this place for a long time because or the reviews and finally checked it out last weekend.The first thing that stood out for me was the ambience.They had an open seating for the chaats and it was really nice.
We ordered chole bhature,Raj kachori,paneer bread pakoda and fried veg momos.
All dishes were decent but the best has to be the chole bhature!
Chole were creamy and the bhaturas were so soft and crispy.
I would give a 5/5 just for that.
I would totally recommend this place if you're looking for some fresh and tasty chats!:)
Dropped in on a rainy day and picked up boondi laddoo and ras malai on the recommendation of the helpful staff The laddoos where fresh and yum. THE rasmalai was the best I have eaten in a long long while in fact was brilliant. Will be back soon guys to try out all the other goodies

The chole batura here is to die for. Personal favorite always remains aloo chaat! Their technique of cooking is unique. Flavorful and authentic food. Economical, but the price of chaat has increased considerably within one short year. Service has become a little dull. The smell around the place is itself worth visiting again. Asli, shudh, shubh!

Good food. Good part is they serve fulka not like tandoori roti in thali. I also drink vanila milkshake which was also great. Food is like home food.

This place was in my list for so long for the hot Jalebi that they provide at very less cost ..
Parking facility is not available to 4 wheelers ..
Ambience was good .. 15-17 ppl can accommodate at a time .. The food preparations are very much visible to us and we can see how the food is being prepared ..
Coming about food .. We ordered pav bhaji and raj Kachori ..
Pav bhaji priced at ₹100 .. The well tossed bhaji in butter was too good .. The lemon squeezed on the top of pav together with bhaji and onion tasted great ..
Raj kachori .. The kachori in the chaat was huge .. And the curd, sev, Pomegranate on the top of chaat was great .. But the taste of sweet dominated lot ..
Coming to that dessert .. wch made me to come here .. HOT JALEBI priced at ₹55 for 100 gms is a great and must grab deal .. The jalabi here has the perfect sweet level .. at the same time it was crispy as well .. hands down to the best jalebi I had so far .. (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
Other than the chaat ., They also have sweets section and sweets hampers.. .. we can both buy n eat it there .. can’t wait to try dem out in my next visit..
One of the best Pani Puris I have tasted in Chennai. The ambience is minimal. Few other chats I tasted were very good too. Service was adequate.
This place has a magnetic effect on the customers and the repeat customer numbers are high! The ambience, the lightings and decors! 😍 They have chaat, sweet, other savoury stalls all separate and neat providing a lot of variety!

I always prefer Bengali sweets and rasamalai
Obviously i tried their chum chum, rasagulla, chum chum sandwhich, rasamalai, rajbhog, and rabri. Its such a delight have sweets from here. Worth money for their sweets. Rasamalai was with flakes of badam and rich in pista. It itself shows the richness in their sweet making.

Happened to visit this place recently. They have evrything under one roof like sweets, chats, savouries, mixtures, gifts etc. They have wide varieties of sweets to choose from and their gifts section is the perfect for any festive time gift shopping. Their live jilebi counter needs a special mention. Their veg momos was the show stealer. The chats section has variety of options.
One of the best North Indian place in Chennai. I think we loved every dish we tasted(more than 20 easily). I couldn't make up my mind to choose my favourite.
The owner was very courteous and made us explore different dishes.

~Ambience - The place is located at the center city, opposite to Maplai restaurant. Their traditional tiled flooring is very welcoming and pleasing to the visitors. Their gift hampers make a great ambience to the shop.
The chat area is well connected with nature and has a private indoor dining hall too.

-The jalebi batter is cooked with hot pot of pure ghee, the aroma of the gheee drives us crazy. Crispy jalebi is garnished with nuts makes the serving awesome.
-Chole Bature is very fluffy and their side dish is very tasty.
-Samosa and pyaaz kachori are special to mention tasted awesome and crispy enough.
- Dahi papdi chat and Spl rajkachori chat were the best amongst the all, special mention to these two especially their consistency of the curd gave it a good taste.
-Steamed momo were good but wasn't my type, so it didn't please me.
- Basket chat tasted good loaded with sprouts and curd with a crispy basket made it a good combo.

Their sweets are masterpiece which to mention all are their best.
Rasagula, Gulab Jamun, lemon cashews all tasted good.

~MALPUA- tasting a malpua like this in Chennai was a great opportunity, thank God I don't have to go to Calcutta or Delhi to taste the best.
~Paan Meeta Roll- being a hater of the taste of Paan, but lover of the smell hate it due to the Betel leaf. But to my surprise tasted awesome, the Best Sweet I have tasted ever.
~PETTA Rolls - The glaze and their tiny sweets were the best, I have tasted like this only in Agra but this was equal to it.

This place Serves North and South Indian Sweets, Chaats and they have individual partition for Gifts. And they have different Varieties of Gifts for Family Function and for different Occasions.
Coming to the taste of foods, they have huge varieties of Chaats and Sweets. The most suggested Sweet is Jelabi. Wow man i wont forget the taste of this Hot jelabi. And My most fav chaat includes panner Bajji, paav Bajji, chole bhature, Samosa And Kachori gives me Awesome Feel. The peoples who like Mud tea then they has to try Masala and Kesar Tea its perfect Here. They have there own Signature Dishes so ask to them to serve like Chole Bhatura, Basket Chat and etc..
If youre North Indain and kaju Sweets Lovers then dont go to Sweets Side becoz u wont go home once you see that you will simply fall on Love. So much of love on that that side. phha that Paan Roll i never tasted like this. Its Awesome man. Very drolling and perfect. Then they have spl and Home made chocolates for Gifting. so try this also. Shubh comes across as your perfect north indian snack place. The ambience is two fold - one a sheltered seating arena and an air conditioned enclosure. The service was swift and polite.
Coming to our orders we had the Chole bhatura and paneer paratha. Must say both were excellent on their own. The paneer paratha was full of ghee and flavour and the Chole Bhatura was heavenly. We had some proper Pani Puri for starters. Ended the meal with some hot and crispy Jalebi. The Jalebis were out of this world tbf.
Given that all dishes were served hot and fresh, the slightly higher price tag is justified (almost ₹400).

Food: A North Indian sweet delicacy store. Freshly made sweets from the Bengali origins, the succulent taste lingers after you have had the food as well. Ambience: with separate store units for sweets, chocolates and dry fruits, you get a retro Indian look with the eatery give you an all in Indian taste.

The samosas were really good and so did the pyaaz kachori. The momos both steames ones amd fried ones were decent! The pav bhaji and chole Bhature were good!
The highlight of the place was the amazing sweets! The Jalebi was hands down the best i have had in Chennai. It was crisp, with the right amount of sugar and drizzled with pistachios! Also the malpua was a major winner 😍 Try their Gulab Jamun n Rasagulla 😍
They also have a good collection of foreign sweets n chocolates. Definitely a one stop shop for your major sugar cravings and chaat dreams!

The paani puri is the best I’ve had in chennai. And I really enjoyed the corn and cheese sandwich as well.
Located in the tank bund road of nungambakkam crossing maplai on the opposite side. Its typically a one stop destination for all the sweets and chat lovers.
Few of their best ones in sweets includes peetha paan roll, jalebi with rabri, malpua, rasamalai, few of their dry fruit sweets. They are even good in bengali, pumpkin based sweets.
My favorite chat includes paav baji, paani poori, panner baji.
I would suggest only the sweets there, and also they have their own brand gift boxes and chocolates which are a must try ones.

One place destination for all your sweet and chaat cravings. They're food tastes like it's straight out of Delhi it's that authentic in taste and quality. Located in the busy streets of nungambakam right opposite to the restaurant maplai. As per the ambience goes it's pretty simple neat and their out door seating is really great to hangout with buddies. You could even have lunch where they have a preset combos that's really reasonable.
We started off with chola bhature , bhature was perfectly cooked wasn't too oily and it was really really soft . The chole wasn't that flavourful in the beginning but later after mixing it well together it tasted amazing and was also really flavourful. They have two types of aloo tiki and we ordered the one which was pretty average in tastes cuz it had only tamarind chutney in it . Then came the north indian thali which was very reasonable and also had perfect components a thali is supposed to have and also it tasted really good. The shubh lassi is one of the best lassi you would ever have , served in a matka (clay) glass which had the perfect consistency and sweetness. Shubh spl badam milk I don't what was famous in it cuz I've had much better badam milk , the one thing I liked about it is that it wasn't too sweet . Their rossagula is a must try , it was a really great in quantity and also very soft and sweet.
Also tried their sweet which looks similar to a paan and tastes really amazing, it's outer layer is made out of papaya and the peda inside it Just makes it a perfect sweet. They have a home made chocolates of wide variety and also their sweets which is to die for and I might even visit them Just for their sweets .
Overall this place is the perfect place to buys sweets and also for their chaats . You could order and gift their home made chocolates to your loved ones.

Is one of my favourite place where I visit often because it is close to my work place. I personally feel this is one of the best place which serves food with authentic taste and aroma.
I Got a chance of experiencing their food with the owner of this place Mr.Agarwal. He gave me to a detailed tour on shubh's strength and how they differ from other players in market.
Initially we had JALEBI, for which I'm a die hard fan of it. Jalebis here are completed made with desi ghee and has a lavish sprinkle of pista chios on top. Which give a awe look to it
Then he explained the making process of their chenna, he said the their chenna are bought from Delhi and they soak in water which is even bought from Delhi. But I completely cant believe on this. But taste wise it was top notch and they use white chenna for this recipe but this like a black Chenna because they add amla to it while socking.
The main signature serve of shub is Cholae bhatura, which is completely a different version of cholae bhatura. The dough used for the poori looks like fermented and tastes impeccably good.
Moving on to the Sweet section, their malai and Rasamalai. It tasted too good and size of Rasamalai was such big, soft and succulent with kesai flavoured milk.For they just charge 40Rs for such a huge chunk of Rasamalai.
They do have various chat option like bread panneer samosa, kachori, raibogh...etc and all tasted yumm with its perfect amsas to it. Overall I feel Shubh is a best to enjoy the true flavor of our desi chat and sweet. The outside appearance of this may looks so posh and expensive. But this a wallet friendly place.
Apart from sweets and savories, they do have a section for choosing your decors for parties and events, a wide spread section for nut and in house chocolate. Which are good one to try on.

The normal overpowering taste which we get over eating a few doesn't happen here, and that's because they prepare them using ghee! At first it might taste like as if they have used some sugar free options but nope.🤐
My favourites would be anything milk based, a selective few on nuts and all of them in jeera soaked based dishes!
Now for the chats,🍽️
We had Pav Bhaji, Chola Bhaturé, Chenna Samosa, Aloo Chenna, Veg Kabab! And I could see a pattern of everything being low on salt and on chaat masala, cause the opposite is what we have been exposed to for a long time.😕
There are two seating options A/C and NON A/C and it's seats enough of a crowd. The service is good and quick as well. Located in one of the busiest roads you just came miss it! Parking isn't a problem. 🚘
Overall it serves the purpose well and you can see yourself spending more time than needed and that's a good thing for them though 🏁

Located on Tank Bunk road ,Nungambakkam. Parking your two wheelers won’t be a problem.
Happened to visit this place on a weekend evening with my friends.
The ambience was pleasant and neat & entire shop is utilised well. Everything from sweets,chocolates, chats to gift items is separated and maintained properly. Speaking of gifts they have wide varieties of gift items in their store itself. Gifts for family functions, festive occasions etc..,
Coming to the food , we had wide varieties of sweets from their menu, literally everything (yeah! All my friends were sweet tooth :p ) TBH. Every sweet i tasted was unique and made to utmost perfection *drooling right now *
Favos were : pan roll, dry fruits sweets, rasmalai,rasagullah!
** This place is not about sweets and chats alone they are serving piping hot pastas, sandwiches and even north indian Thalis too. (Don’t let the sweet section fool you! Just sit and try out these dishes they were just as special as their sweets!!
Coming to chat section, we tried
Chole bhature: A signature dish from their menu. Tasted good the bhature/Bhatoora was deep fried , but i found the chole less spicy (i do have a overspiced tongue :D )
Cheese pav bhaji: Authentic cheese pav bhaji even though cheese was a tad low we enjoyed this particular dish.
Samosa channa and kachori:

Coming to my favo part CHAI!
The chai paithyam in me rejoiced when i saw 3 different chais in their menu that too served in mud cups! So I ordered all 3 of ‘em and gulped it down.
Special chai: It felt like a normal one.
Masala chai: Flavourful one.
Kesar chai: personal favo. With saffron sprinkled on top! (Must try)
Overall we had an amazing experience in shubh I would definitely visit this place again for their sweets ,this kesar chai and their ever famous jalebi :*

Their jalebis — it’s by far the best I’ve tried standing in front of the live jalebi counter and watching them making it just for you in that pure ghee , those lustrous orange curves getting fried , flipped , just because you want to eat it- divine experience!! One of the best places for having sweets and also for their good-quality and tasty products. It's a 100% vegetarian restaurant serving not only chaat item's and they have varieties of North Indian dishes.
Shubh is my favourite sweet shop in the town. I have to admit that this one place which has never let me down whenever I have tried them out.
Only few places in the city which Jalebi prepared in pure Ghee this is one among them. This place is not only for food, they also have dry fruits, Chocolate and packed eateries.
They have very good varieties of gift boxes , where you can gift some Sweets or Chocolates in those boxes and gifted to your family members during Deepavali festival.
I have tried some Chocolate Kaju , Badam Burfi, Anjeer Kaju and pista roll sweets, all were very good in taste.After tasting their home made chocolates, i will say that this place is must go place for Chocolate lovers. Chocolates are well wrapped in designed papers.
And in Chaat items , I have tasted Hot Jalebi, Veg Kabab , Paav Bhaji, Chole Bhatura, Channa Samosa and finally ended witha Spl Chai.
My overall experience is pretty good.Please step in and try out their mouth watering sweets and chaat items.

Weekday lunching, more of snacking scene happened here. Please note people, it's not just a sweet shop. The place serves a wide variety of chaat, sweets, pastas, sandwich and North Indian main course. Leave alone the food, they also have wide variety of Pooja, gift articles, nuts, chocolates and what not. To place is on the main road, diagonally opposite to Maplai restaurant near Loyola college, next to Oink/Mexicano griller.
It was a huge list of dishes I tried. I will outline the good and the ones that did not suit my palate.
Spicy Aloo tikki, Channa samosa, Basket Chaat, Dahi balla Chaat, Pani poori, shubh spl. Raj bhog Chaat, club katchori, rasgulla, jalebi, Chum Chum, paneer jalebi, rasmalai kesar, laccha basundhi, petha paan roll were all very good, the flavors are well maintained.
A couple of them did not suit my palate :
1. Chole Bhature - The bhatura fried to perfection. Chole were tad bit spicy because of the spices that went into the making which subsided the flavor. The mint chutney was a major miss. (Rating - 3.5/5)
2. Aloo Tikki (without curd) - Sweet chutney was predominant, when I put the word across to the chef, he was obligant to work on it. (Rating - 3/5)
3. North Indian Thali- Everything in the Thali was very good except for the dry jamun which had a slight artificial taste of chemical. If that was perfect, I would rate this dish a 4/5. (Rating - 3.5/5)
4. Shubh Spl. Lassi - This was a freshly churned lassi topped with nuts and almond and tasted good but since it was fresh, the thickness was lost. On mentioning it to the management, the MD explained it was freshly made and was not refrigerated and offered a refrigerated one which though was thick did not have the creaminess. (Rating - 3.5/5)
5. Shubh Spl. Badam milk - Loaded with nuts this badam milk tasted mediocre compared to the thick, creamy badam milks I have had from other places around the city. (Rating - 3.5/5)
6. Kesar Chenna Toast - Was a bit dry, otherwise taste was good. (Rating - 3.5/5)
7. Spicy Mac & cheese - This was definitely spicy but tasted a bit Desi for some reason, the pasta used was not macroni instead rotini (i.e. twisters). (Rating - 3/5)
My most favorite from the sweet was laccha basundhi, from Chaat was club katchori. I prefer my sweet with less sugar and this was outstanding I could say. And I love this place for the massive gulab jamuns, rasagulla, rasmalai, Malpua. They also have an assortment of home made chocolates imported from Banglore which you can pick from to make your own box of happiness.
I would recommend this place for their chaats & sweets which they do a good justice on.

Coming to the dishes... I tasted many sweet like paan roll, kaaju sweet , mooti laddu , rasamalai, rabdi and rasagullas..In which my most favorite is the rabdi and the rasagullas..and apart from these they have a live jilebi center where you can find delicious jilebi freshly cooked and served...
And in chaat items I tasted dishes like pav bhajji , chana samosa , chola poori , veg kebab and kachori.
And finally I also tasted masala tea and kesar tea.. where my best pick is the kesar tea which strong and real saffron sprinkled over it which I really loved it...
Coming to the points where they could have done better is the chaat section.. because I personally felt that the taste of the chaat items could have been better when compared to other famous chaat shops which I have previously tasted...

It was a Shubh Aarambh( auspicious start) to the Navrathri season when I received an invite to visit this eatery as part of a taste review program.
It is located near Loyola College just as the road curves towards Mahalingapuram and is pretty hard to miss with its large ,picture windows showing us a preview of the myriad delicacies contained within.
They have a compact dining area with both open to air and air conditioned section.
Their food menu is vast and varied so we asked them to serve us their signature dishes.
So began our never ending array of dishes starting from chaats and ending obviously with the mithai.
The chaats we sampled included Aloo tikki,Pav Bhaji,Special Kolkata Kachori,Ragada Pattice,Basket Chat which is a grated potato basket filled with the normal chaat fillings and doused in dahi and my favourite the Shubh Spl Rajbhog Chat which had dahi bhalla as its base and was again covered with creamy and sweet curd and the presence of cut fruits brought another dimension to it.
We also had to have their best seller ,the Chole Bhatura with the special chick peas Masala which is prepare with believe it or not Delhi water and the Masala is prepared with nearly 62 ingredients in the Masala and the Bhatura as for the other fried items are all fried using desi ghee which certainly adds to the taste and the nutritive value of the items.
Next was the turn of their lunch thali which had steamed rice,2 phulkas,a creamy,delicious Dal Makhni,dum aloo ,pappad and a sweet.
It is priced at Rs 160 and is certainly a good deal as was evinced by several patrons enjoying it for lunch.
I certainly had to try their Sweet Lassi which was served in cute matkas( clay pots) and attractively garnished with chopped dry fruits. It tasted like it was freshly churned and had a natural taste. I loved every sip of it.
They source their milk from Ongole which is a famous dairy hub so that explains the quality of the milk products served here.
We were all pretty stuffed by then but still we had to at least taste their sweets so the procession of mithai commenced.
The hot jalebis straight from the stove, soft ,luscious Rasmalais,Rosgollas,Kesar Chena Toast,Cham Cham ,Gulab Jamun all came and made a good impression .
Finally we finished off with a twist on the traditional paan- their version was pan flavoured nuts stuffed in a peta( candied white pumpkin) roll.
It was a sweet ,fitting end to a gargantuan repast.
Shubh also stocks varieties of savouries,imported chocolates,biscuits etc.
So do pay a visit and try some of their delicious eatables ,all prepared with care and quality ingredients. They are also offering sweet hampers for the upcoming festive season at competitive rates.
We went there as a group....we tried all their signature dishes......and they were all so good😍😍
Everything we had were fresh .... especially their chat items and sweets are my favourite😍🤗
And this is one of the best place to have sweets.....unlike other places here the sweets are not soooo sweet which makes us to eat more.....😊
Trying their pastas and momos are not a right option here since their speciality is all those chats and sweets...

This is indeed the best north Indian veg resturant in Chennai. Tucked in the neat locality of Nungambakkam, thr ambience is pleasant. The food felt like food straight from my mom's kitchen. This is a must try resturant. Do patronize.

Their Panipuri amazing. Met them in Libazar event conducted at Loyola college, Nungambakam. That was the first time I came to know about them. They have high quality products..

I made an online order..the food was delivered surprisingly quick and it was hot enough.. Vada Pav is a must try so was aloo tikki.. Pav bhaji was good, Bedmi puri and the subzi was not upto the mark... rasamalai was simply yummylicious... worth the money
I have visited this restaurant with family and I order Shubh special thali, chhole bhature and noodles and had sweets.
Overall experience was good and specially thali was good in taste and price was reasonable.
Noodles they served with manchurian and it was okay in taste.
So overall good restaurants, in budget and they are having number of variety in chat and sweets

Our orders were,
1. Chole Bhatura - two large oil fried bhatura's served with delhi styled desi chole masala with perfect splash of spices and hint of ghee. So yummy! 😍
2. Hot jalebi - this is one of their best and signature dessert, fried to perfect crispy and juiciness in a big hot boiling vessel of pure ghee. So Gheelicious ❤
The service was a bit slow and the ambience was quite normal.
Overall an great place for north indian chaats and one of the best place to explore the flavours of north in south.

Had the veg thali which was priced at 160/- have to admit that it was good and value for money. Service could be more better. Overall a decent restaurant and can have more combo offers.
Rabdi was not upto the mark.. Rasmalai was of good quality.
Very good customer service . The sweets are big and are delicious . The shop is huge with various options for gifts and sweets . Definitely a new concept in Chennai. Not to forget the homemade chocolates . This place is Serious competition for renowned sweet shops in Chennai.
If you are in and around Nungambakkam and want to have a quick set lunch, look no further than Shubh. They are running a new Shubh Special Thali Meals in their lunchtime delectables, and I absolutely loved it! Absolute VFM for just 120 bucks. Top quality!
PS: I'm a regular here and love their other stuff too. Rasamalai and dahi aloo tikka are my favorites! Almost all the chaats I've tasted are on point.

Reminds me of delhi and kolkata chat as they have a huge variety .the chola bhatura exactly like delhi ...excellent rasugulla to die for . Highly recommended .

In Chennai this food is blessing in disguise for a North Indian.
Madras Cafe is just next door and you can substitute samosas with good coffee
Freshly made ghee jalebis and Bread paneer pakoda was good enough, their mint and spicy chutney was also good.
They do have all varieties of nutty sweets, will try them next time. Hard thing to accept it there is a parking Constraint for four wheeler parking.
One of the best chat corners in Chennai. You say the name and you will have all kind of North Indian sweets, chats and snacks. They have south indian varieties as well. Though they have an AC dine in room, the place is a little small, but the taste will compensate for that. The hot jilebi made once the order is placed, is a must try dish there. And the Chole Batura is also delicious. Having the chats over the masala chai is worth the visit. They conduct some eating competition as well once in a while. Do follow them. Shubh will sure be a shubharambh, as you will feel visiting again. My favourite hang out at the heart of Chennai city!!! Love it

Parking car is quite challenging, it's understandable as it's in Nungambakkam.
The place has sweets snacks options to eat. Good place to come with friends in evening and hang out.
Especially sweets are amazing like nuts sweets, milk sweets, rasagulla etc.
For snacks limited varities however taste is good.

Price according to me not less or too high as it's in city Nungambakkam we can expect this price.
The Ambience for sweet display is good however the ambience for customers is to sit and eat is ok not so great. It looks like traditional seating set up.
We loved the place. We had to rush to a wedding and we did not buy any gifts. We though we will buy sweets. On our way we found this place, well lit and was pleasing. We entered and to my surprise i found out that not only do they have sweets but they can also gift wrap them for us. You may wonder what is so special about it thats where the next point come to play. You can choose a lot of display / gift trays / gift boxes (So many options to choose from) and they pack the sweets / dry fruits / chocolates.
The shop is good if you are looking for North Indian sweets. Price is also reasonable and have wide variety of choices. If you go there, please do try their Ras Malai. Its really good and worth the money.
