Mutton Biryani had just bones I asked and not nice pieces thanks a lot Nice Tomato soup Their Fish fry was awesome good time value for money salute
Opted for Home delivery from this place and wasn't dissapointed!
We had ordered Chicken lollipop and Special chicken gravy.
It was delivered super hot! π The special chicken had shredded chicken pieces with perfect spices and gravy.
The Chicken lollipop was also super tasty although felt like there was a little bit extra food coloring which can be removed.
Overall good food in nominal price!
nattukozhi kolambu is awesome
Dont know why they are not improving nowadays, and the brand value is fully gone has been the review i have heard, but we dint find it that worse to say. The chikken pepperfry is awesome. Chicken 65 all the same as in a good restaurant. Biriyani was nice but can be improve a bit. Service was also was nice when we went. Dony know y the wrong notion. May be due to the upcoming new restaurant this brand has gone down.
Visited this place about an year back since am a huge fan of Anjappar food. We ordered a variety of starters ranging from chicken, mutton and egg and every dish was quite good.
However, it is sad to see the ratings of the place have gone down. My rating is based on the visit around an year back.
I visited anjappar Ashok nagar branch today I ordered mutton biryani and mutton liver fry than pomegranate juice both taste so good. service was nice. good friendly team very happy.keep it up.
We visited in Anjappar ASHOK nagar . awesome .order in nattukozhi kaadai biriyani π€π€π€ excellent food falooda is nice each taste was good service is good ,πππ
Today visited anjappar ashok nagar. Delicious chettinadu food, specially their meals, mutton sukka & fish fry. Service was good in the busy sunday also. Enjoyed more with the family...
Went here for a late Sunday lunch with a friend ..Place was packed and we had to share a four seater with another 2 blokes..Not happy..(not Enuf space to keep all dishes )
We ordered egg biryani, crab roast dry (special of the day ), Aachi eral thokku (prawn semi gravy), kola urundai (minced mutton cutlets), naatukoli pichi potathu dry (country chicken), fish fry (1 medium size price of vanjaram/seer fish) plain rice and rasam.
Food came out pretty fast.prawn gravy was average and the masala seemed undercooked..Crab roast was great but the crab prices were small.guess they couldn't get the bigger crabs due to the cyclone effect.naatukoli chicken was good though it had a 50:50 ratio of bones.egg biryani was good and went will with chicken and fish fry. The kola urundai was a disappointment. Could not taste much of the meat and it had a pretty hard outer layer.(miss the Madurai Amma mess kolas)..Rasam was good but expected it to have a bit more of tamarind to make it go well with all the non veg sides..Overall an average chettinad meal.dishes should be cooked in masala a bit more to taste better..Bill came upto 1.5k including a water bottle and a couple of Pepsi's...Visit again..Nah! Too many better chettinad restaurants to explore..
My friends and i visited Anjappar for a late night dinner after a get-together. Located near Ashok pillar and adjacent to Aasife Biriyani is the well renowned Anjappar Chettinad restaurant.
The space for parking two wheelers is sufficient but for cars it's a bit congested. The staffs welcomed us and directed us towards our swat, the seat spacing was good and the ambiance was nice. We ordered Butter naan, panner butter masala, Tandoori chicken half, plain biriyani and a Chettinad Chicken gravy.
The butter naan was soo soft and the quantity was well adjusted. The panner butter masala was the perfect combo for the butter naan and the paneer was well cooked. Tandoori grill on the other hand was a letdown in terms of quantity but it was mouthwatering. They were generous with the quantity of the plain biriyani and the Chettinad Chicken gravy was excellent and i felt the punch in my mouth with every bite. Since it was a short dinner we didn't have time to taste any other dishes which we planned for, but we'll definitely try them in the future.
Anjappar is good for quick bites and late night dinner and so I rate Anjappar 3.5/5 and I'll be paying them frequent visits in the near future.
Visited Anjappar Ashok Nagar Branch with family, ordered 6 mutton biriyani & 1 watermelon juice each. Taste was good n ambience was v.good. staff were upselling faloods n ice cream but we denied bcoz of time constraint
This branch is there for years...they werethe only NV restaurant shich used to deliver in KK Nagar...Recently they have renovated & place looks good...i will only recommend their "Vanjaram Fish Curry" nothing else..
Anjappar and fish finger go hand in hand !!!!!@
I just love the fish finger served by them .....was dipping in mayo and eating endlessly without sharing π ordered veg and non veg meals ....and chicken naatu kozhi sabzi. ....tasted yummmmm! !!!! My belly waz at the verge of bursting !!!! Good food good times !!!!
I've been here very recently with my wife for lunch although I see a lot of bad comments I was lucky to have a OK experience. Food we ordered were Biryani, Mutton Fry, Sura Puttu, fish fry and fish kolambu.. All were OK and no complaints. I could see people around though having some arguments with the staff but guess it was OK.. Price is high and quality doesn't feel same to that level though.. Had delivery from here several times and that too were OK.. Would recommend but with caution.. Food will not totally disappoint you that's what I feel strongly!
This used to be the only non veg restaurant in this area some years back. So I have been to this anjappar many times over the years. A lot of transformation has taken place here.
After a long time had lunch at this place on a very busy Sunday afternoon, I was half convinced that food wouldn't be that good coz of some of the previous visits which had caused the long break. Somehow I got place on the first floor, we were only 2 people. The waiters were bustling in and out but they gave us water and the menu quickly.
We had #Naatu kozhi rasam it was nice with the good flavour. #Fish finger was usual, was good. #Mutton Chukka had good masala but the pieces weren't that good and it was a very small cup. I asked for #Kaadai Biriyani but the waiter said it was over so we had #Turkey Biriyani. The Biriyani was actually really good to my surprise.
A good experience which has actually made me consider this place again.
Nice place to crash on a Sunday afternoon ambience is simply awesome the beeper system was really helpful service was satisfactory The new alterations are cool reviews might differ!!

I am not great fan of Anjappar. Visited few times to Porur branch for colleagues treats. Not impressed much on service, food n ambiance.
I cross the Ashok Nagar outlet very often, bur never stopped for dining. Before boarding bus to native, I was so hungry, so decided to try Anjappar, which is actually the pickup point for most of the private buses.
Was impressed with service at first glance itself. Stewards& waiters were so generous.
When I ordered Kari Dosa, steward recommended Thala kari masala, which turned out to be good choice. Masala was spicy with boneless meat. Great combination for dosas. Kari Dosa was also very good with lots of chicken chunks. Chicken chunks were tasted awesome. Chicken gravy n tomato chutney was accompanies for Dosa, which was also nice.
Even after kari Dosa, I was hungry, so ordered Chapathi, which was also decent.
For 3 dishes, it came around βΉ310, which was decent for quantity. It would come around 500-600 for 2 good eaters.
Decent ambiance with lots of Tanjore paintings on wall.
I was really impressed with service, which was very quick & courteous.
Probably due to the popularity of standalone south indian restaurants like Junior Kuppanna & other's, franchised restaurants getting less popular day by day.
Anjappar, Ashok Nagar Definetely know how to step up their standards to match with other popular restaurants.
I visited with least expectations, but I was impressed with the service & food.
Overall a decent chettinad restaurant in the Ashok Nagar, if they maintain the standard(service & food)
Food was too good nd fast and hot serving... Paneer butter masala was awesome with most soft paneers... Ambience was good...also Gobi s good... Butter naan served on time
The non-veg meals here is one of the best in the city. The gravies here tastes good.Better than many chettinaad restaurant. In ashok nagar branch, the service is very poor. They bring the dishes only after 45-55 minutes after ordering. The interior is homely. The AC does not work.Very suffocating inside.
If u r looking for north indian good food then this is the place for you. Ambience is not that great but you ll enjoy food for sure.
Totally Worth it for Noon Meals i never had this much satisfaction for Meals anywhere in Chennai before until i came to anjappar. With a Wide variety of unlimited sides and rice , anjappar meals is truly worth the money ... Only down side is the Rush during Lunch time .. other than that a neat place to have food
