After looking at the mouth-watering food pictures from Hotel Pandia’s in food groups, added it to my to-do list right away! Yes, I am referring to their branches in North Madras – apparently, there are two outlets in Royapuram and one in Washermanpet. Its only two or three times I have come to this part of the city. Not quite sure with the directions, after enquiring with a couple of auto drivers, spotted one in Cemetry Road in Royapuram, and decided to try! Since they were all the same brand, didn’t feel the need to go all the way to Washermanpet.

best briyani in the royapuram area.. no one should miss the briyani here.. and the special kuruma on Sunday no one can beat their taste.. yumm they are..
Literally one of the best tamil restaurants in chennai for a blend of chettinad and rural style of dining. Prices are slightly high but the taste is simply unbeatable. Biryani is the best dish to try here.

I went to the N4 fishing beach with my friends and after a long time there by morning 8 AM my friends wanted to have a Non Veg Breakfast. We did not have Net pack or anything so we started to search for a shop. We are not from anywhere closer to royapuram so we did not the locality too.
After nearly a 30 mins search we found Pandia,s in Cemetery road. The word (
உயர்தர அசைவம் ஹோட்டல்) we just drove at max speed towards it and parked.
We thought of having some thing more like tiffin items in the morning, but to our surprise the bearer told they have biriyani for breakfast. That too not just Mutton but also Vaan Kozhi biriyani. We were totally surprised as we have never had biriyani so early in the morning.
We ordered a lot of items including biriyani, parotta, idiyapam, idli, mutton masala, mutton chops and mutta dosa. the size of the Mutta Dosa was enormous. Everything was good and the taste was completely different from what you get in any other Non veg Chettinadu hotels. We had a really good time.
I wish they opened some where near bessy beach for me and my friends can have tasty Non Veg Breakfast more often.

Was busy reviewing restos around Adyar and Besant, that I missed this one which is too close to my place. Pandiyas has three joints around royapuram and washermanpet area, all three almost 2 kms away from each other.
Ambience: The Ground floor of this particular joint doesn't give you any ambience. Just a regular south indian hotel that looks like it serves only parotta and briyani. The spiral staircase leads to an A/c hall though , to enjoy your food with chill.
Food: Don't let looks betray you. Pandiyas provides you with a wide range of menu including spicy chettinad and rich Chinese cuisine. They specialize in their Briyani which is quite different from ones you would get in other chettinad hotels. Their seafoods are awesome too.
Service: I must warn you though. The pricetag might take you by surprise. A single serving of briyani can cost you upto 200 bucks. And other side dishes are quite costly too. But I must add this .... :-D They are definitely worth the price :-D . Service is mediocre. Nothing much to speak about it.
Overall : If your pockets were full .. definitely your tummy will end up full too :-D :-P .

Hello foodies :) :D... One fine day :D After a long wait got a chance to taste biriyani from pandiya's @ Royapuram, this place is just 2 kms from my home. I did not like the ambiance and it was hot and no A/C. I ordered for a Mutton Biriyani and Naatu Kozhi varuval (but the staff said no naatu kozhi only on Sunday's :( .. ) so just got the biriyani parcel and the cost is 180 rupees :O !!..After waiting for 3 minutes i got my parcel and left the place.After reaching home I ate the biriyani, and to my surprise biriyani was yummyyyy, nice aroma, looks very good. Only 4 small mutton pieces 2 pieces were only bones :( , Quantity is veryyy less, Over priced.Taste - 5/5

Definitely worth a try.To the Management - please reduce the price, if not increase the biriyani quantity and can add few more mutton pieces(not bones) for the price :) . Stil need to try out other dishes :D but price seems to be a bit high :O ?? !!
this hotel is located near to my house.... i use to go there twise in a month... been honestly pandiys is an expert in briyani... these guys are really awsome... price is also resonable.... thank u

Good but a bit costly....Parrota and chicken extremely good...non veggie would love those traditional briyanis...try out brain fry and vaankozhi briyani.. Would be different and awesome
If you are looking for a good military hotel ( old name for hotel serving good non vegetarian food) this is a best classic place in the zone. The biriyani they prepare is very unique, you can't find that taste anywhere else.
But you can't expect a better service in a busy hotel like this. It's good if you are planning for a take away.
