The Shack @ Elliots is a Pure vegetarian restaurant which serves Oriental and Continental food. I was wondering how did I miss this place these days. It's hard to get pure vegetarian place which serves those cuisine. After seeing good rating in Zomato, decided to go for it.
Location and Parking -
This restaurant is easy to locate. Just before Astalakshmi temple in besant nagar. Easy to spot once you are there. You can park your vehicle inside the premises itself.
Ambiance-
They have recently opened Flavours of Nellai restaurant inside their premises and we have option to sit in any of those restaurant and even order food of both restaurant in one place. The Shack seating is inside a small hut. Perfect for hangout while Flavours of Nellai seating is usual air conditioned room. We opted for latter one.
Ambiance is good with bright lighting inside. Comfortable seating. They also have outside stand and eat fast food type option. There is a small kids play area which kids can make use of it. During my first visit also spotted birthday theme decorated hut with candles. It looks romantic, perfect for special occasion of loved ones.
Service -
Been here few times. Once for trying this restaurant alone, next time for trying flavours of nellai alone and once again for trying both restaurant. All 3 times the service was good. They were courteous and attentive. Food ordered came in reasonable time.

Menu is good with Superb options. Tried Corn 🌽 fritters, Peri Peri Panner poppers, stuffed mushroom 🍄, mozzarilla 🧀 sticks, crispy corn 🌽 kernels, spinach corn 🌽 au gratin, mushroom 🍄 corn au gratin, Penne Al pesto pasta, mint lemonade 🍋 and brownie with ice cream in 2 visits.
Starters -
Corn 🌽 fritters was similar to vadai 😉 made of corn 🌽. The panner in Peri Peri Panner poppers was soft and spongy. Tastewise both are good. Stuffed mushrooms was new here and it was decent.
Crispy corn 🌽 kernals is one of my favorite dish which I order wherever it is available. It was excellent in taste which tempted us go for repeat order as well.
Ordered Mozzarella sticks since they suggested it while taking order quoting it as one of their signature dish. To our surprise it came out well, better than we expected. Yes, it is indeed their signature dish. Cheese 🧀 inside was excellent in taste.
Au Gratin - During first visit mushroom 🍄 corn au gratin. It was one of the best au gratin I had till now. It came piping hot 🔥 with full of cheese 🧀. The taste of cheese 🧀 was out of the world. It was accompanied by garlic bread which was also good. During next visit tried their spinach corn 🌽 au gratin which is also excellent. Must try over here.
Penne Al pesto pasta - It was creamy consisting of Broccoli 🥦, zucchini and mushroom 🍄. Pesto sauce level is perfect. Tastewise it was decent.
Brownie with ice cream and mint lemonade 🍋 are also good.
Overall satisfying experience 😊 Must try for those who are looking for pure vegetarian restaurant serving Oriental and Continental cuisine. Also perfect place for romantic date 🥰

This place is located in Besant Nagar, very near the beach. went over here for dinner recently with my friend. First I was thinking how it will be without AC and all. But to my surprise, the place was pretty chill and not hot at all! cool breeze from the sea kept the place amazing. The restaurant is basically hit style, they do not have any flooring. It is as if we are on the beach and eating food. The place is pretty good.
Moving on to the food over here, they have a wide range of food to choose from. They have a ton of snacks, starters and appetisers. Recently they have launched a lot of Main Courses. The food over here is good but the feel of the seaside, it is really worthy to come over here. A few dishes which I really loved were, Gobi Fried rice with paneer gravy, Mac and cheese, pizza bites, spinach and corn sandwich. These were the ones which I liked a lot. There were a very few dishes which needed improvement with the cooking. Otherwise the others are all good. They also have a mojitos and shakes. They are very refreshing.
Overall I had a great time over here and loved this place. They also have special date nights, which needs to be informed earlier. A perfect place to hangout with friends and chill! The cost is also economical. Their service is also very fast and friendly. Do check them out.

A cute little place somewhere in the streets of besant nagar, i feel being a little isolated the place is getting under-rated a little.
Starting with the ambience, comfortable seats given a good beachy touch with the good beach sand in the huts.
The menu is quite standard as what a cafe should have, the quality and the quantity of the food lives very much to the expectations, it was quite delicious. Also the staff was friendly.

Went there during a weekday evening. The place was empty, so had no problem finding a seat. The place has about 6 tables and 2 individual shacks for a reasonably big group. Comfortable bamboo seating. The menu has quite a good variety for an evening snack and drink. The place is neatly done up and looks quite refreshing. I went in just around sunset time, so had an opportunity to see the place before the lights were turned on. Once the lighting comes up, gives a very different feeling. Waiting to experience this place on a rainy evening. Staffs are well informed and courteous. Priced competitively! Definitely would love to come back.

A cute and cosy place next to Ashtalakshmi temple. I had Paneer Nachos, Cheesy Fries and Lays sandwich. They were all so yummy! Lychee Fizz was decent. Love the ambience. Almost like eating by the beach with sand on your feet.

Been here to celebrate a birthday surprise.
1. Very courteous and understanding staff.
2. Exceptional decoration of the shack. The birthday girl just loved it. They even had a music system in which we could play the songs as we like.
3. Well, the food. It is just amazing and affordable. Variety of items and it was relatively light on the pocket.
4. Very close to the Beach which further makes it a good location setting.
5. On a whole, loved the experience. Spent around 1.5hrs over there and it was definitely worth the money spent.

A new place to venture yet again. This place is a veg cafe, beach themed spot just along the bessie. First up, great parking space and it was an open-air type restaurant with good seating.
Cheese Corn Balls w/ salad - Hard on the out while flavourful on the inside with the warm cheese flowing through. Don't rely on cutleries; just grab and pop them in your mouth with the Mayo.
Peri Peri Paneer Poppers - To my surprise, the Paneer was well fried and the kick was infused all around. While in most places the taste wouldn't be spread evenly, this place served it with great flavour distribution.
Cheesy Nachos - Great Nacho chips with cheese toppings on top of the cheesy crunch.
Corn Cheese Maggi - Typical, munch it in when it's hot. Not to leave out in the cold.
Butterscotch Shake - Sweet, refreshing and was frothy.
Wouldn't call it pocket-friendly since the quantity served for the price paid was less. Could still improve on that.
P.S.: It was lunchtime on a Saturday but still we were the only people at the place. Having said that, there were no issues with the service and waiting time.

Well this one is gonna be a cool private hangout spot for friends and families in besant Nagar Beach
Location - its very near to bessy beach. To be exact, it's on the back side of besant Nagar church.. Use Google maps for the exact location.
Parking - they have a huuuuuge private parking area very near to beach and so you can park your car safely and relax.
Ambience - it's a natural ambience with thatched roof shacks and a main structure also with thatched roof and bamboo chairs. No ac. But the cool sea breeze and their fans are enough to keep us cool. In evenings with their beautiful lights, it gives a romantic ambience.
Food - it's a pure veg restaurant. We started with their milkshakes - milkbikis, strawberry banana and Twix (chocolate) shakes.. Everything tasted good and was very thick.
Also we tried mozarrela cheese stick and paneer aglio olio. Both were normal in taste though.
My favourite one here is the cheesy nachos 😍😍😍 were so crunchy and layered with yummy cheese.
Special mention to their stuffed mushrooms. An item which can match the taste of non veg.
And also their chilli garlic Maggi was an absolute tasty dish.
Usually we skip the salads in every restaurant. Here we wanted to try their chef special mustard veg salad. It didn't disappoint us. The vegetables were crispy and fresh. And the mustard dressing was like honey on the top.
Also don't miss their cheesy mushroom corn sandwich - triple deckered grill sandwich. - was cheesy and yummy.. Best one here.
You can also make your own pasta here by choosing the type, sauce and veggies. We tried penne cheese pink pasta. Creamy and tasty one.
Their range of Mocktails were just flavoured aerated drinks. Didn't suit our taste

The thatched roof eatery with the sandy flooring, ceiling fans revolving languidly give you a sense of being in a beach shack .
It serves vegetarian food and the cuisine is a mix of Italian and Mexican cuisine.
My friends and I opted to start with some shakes and my choice of Milkbikis shake lived up to my memory of dunking these biscuits into tea and eating the delicious, sodden bits.
The starters we ordered were Paneer Aglio Olio ,Cheesy Nachos,Stuffed Mushrooms and Mozzarella Sticks.
They were all pretty good except for the last one which was a little bland that being said if it was served with a spicy, Chinese kind of dip would have tasted better.
Chilly garlic Maggi,Penne in Pink Sauce and a wonderfully gooey Corn ,mushroom cheese grill completed our mains.
I really liked all of them.
We did try a few Mocktails like the Blue Curacao,Nannari Sharbath,Green Apple Mojito but felt they were a tad too sweet.
I felt that the service was also efficient and quick.

This place is at a stone throw distance from the Ashtalakshmi Temple at Besant Nagar. I guess that is the reason they chose to serve only vegetarian (yes, you heard it right!).
The first thing that got my attention was their extensive parking area. Being next to the temple, it is generally hard to find a parking spot, but they have got that covered.
The place has about 3 shacks and a play area. Two of which are individual huts and can seat about 4 to 5 people each and is a great choice if you are visiting with friends or as a couple. I would personally recommend this place if you are going on a date. The ambiance is pleasing and you can expect some really subtle music (which helps you focus on the conversations).
The food came in real quick (I guess they somehow guessed that I was super hungry). We ordered their Chef’s special Stuffed Mushrooms for Starters, Pasta for main course and Twix shake for Dessert. The mushroom was average while the other two were great. The waiter for the day was amiable and made sure that we were comfortable. He was open to feedback and was willing to alter the ingredients to suit our taste buds. The menu was economical and did not burn a hole in our pocket.

My sister hosted her kid’s birthday party here on a Sunday. The space this restaurant offers is great to organise outdoor activities and have a theme party. They have a small play area as well. The owners were kind enough to help us arrange the whole place. There is ample car space, we had approximately 10-12 families attending this event, so you can imagine the crowd size. The evening snacks was sumptuous and I liked what was served. This includes welcome drink, sandwiches, corn cheese nuggets, nachos and the Birthday cake. We ordered cake from elsewhere. Overall we were very happy with the ambience and service and recommend this place to organise small family/ friend outings.
A random visit to this place after browsing through what's new in bessy didn't let me down. They had tried a new theme with more of a beach feel. I visited on a weekday and hardly few tables were occupied. We tried mazorella Sticks, garden nachos and lays Sandwich. All these were their signature dishes. They do serve customised pastas which they claim they're good at . Over all this is a budget-friendly place with good food

The food is just lip smacking here! It is continental cusine (pure Veg).Their pasta is out of this world! I have never eaten pasta for 189 Rs that tasted so good! Finally the deserts! oh were do I even begin.. Try their banofee Pie... Pure bliss!

A group of 6 visited Shack today. It is a great hangout spot to just eat and talk. It is just amazing and I can't put into words how much I liked this place. It is very peaceful here and there's absolutely no noise at all. I guess it's best to visit here in the evening cause this place really digs after dark.
The food also is amazing. We ordered the entire starter collection and also a couple of sandwiches, pasta and milkshakes. Each one of their starters are amazing. Especially the 'Paneer Aglio Olio' is amazing. The taste was so good that we ordered it a second time. The nachos were also great. It got over in literally less than a minute and I'm not exaggerating here. The price also is very much manageable.
Overall, it was a great experience and would love to visit multiple times. Oh and also, they have ample parking and also there is a lot of space here which excites me about the scope of what they can do with it.

The Shack is a nice little cafe located in Besant Nagar. Been there twice since their launch. It is a great place to hangout with friends and family. The prices are pocket friendly. I liked the Mozzarella Sticks, Jalapeño Poppers and Stuffed Mushroom. Their Exotic Paneer Sandwich is also lip smacking. Tried a couple of their mock tails and like that too.
The staff are friendly and they are constantly improving the quality of service and food.

Probably the most frustrating thing about most restaurants near Elliots beach is the noise .That's what I loved about the shack..it's calm, quiet at the same time right next to the beach giving me the best of both worlds. With ample parking inside I didn't have the hassle of finding a parking spot on Elliots. Their custom order pasta was excellent...had a nice home made touch to it..the stuffed mushrooms were probably one of the best I have had so far..they got the seasoning just right..both were very reasonably priced..if your the guy who loves a relaxing atmosphere with good food and a strong breeze reminiscent of Goa(minus the alcohol)the shack is the place to go!

The restaurant use refined oil & they make their own batter. They do not use preservatives or additives. It is as good as home made food.

We came here yesterday for my husband's bday celebration. I had to have the cake delivered to the place and without any hesitation they took care of the delivery and took care of it until we reached the place. The decoration was very beautiful, on a beach theme shack a table full of rose petals and candles, balloons all around, a happy birthday hanging and comfortable seating for 7 persons.
Ambience is really pleasant as in near beach, being the only ones at 8:30 PM was an added advantage to it.
Staff were very understanding and answered all our doubts patiently.
Starters were really tasty. We had peri peri fries, potato cheese, gobi manchurian(must try). Dosa and Uthapapam could have been better. Pizza and Pasta were also good, Penne con salsa, Mac and cheese, Cottage cheese.
It was past their closing time but yet they let us stay and didn't hurry us.

A new place to venture yet again. This place is a veg cafe, beach themed spot just along the bessie. First up, great parking space and it was an open-air type restaurant with good seating.
Cheese Corn Balls w/ salad - Hard on the out while flavourful on the inside with the warm cheese flowing through. Don't rely on cutleries; just grab and pop them in your mouth with the Mayo.
Peri Peri Paneer Poppers - To my surprise, the Paneer was well fried and the kick was infused all around. While in most places the taste wouldn't be spread evenly, this place served it with great flavour distribution.
Cheesy Nachos - Great Nacho chips with cheese toppings on top of the cheesy crunch.
Corn Cheese Maggi - Typical, munch it in when it's hot. Not to leave out in the cold.
Butterscotch Shake - Sweet, refreshing and was frothy.
Wouldn't call it pocket-friendly since the quantity served for the price paid was less. Could still improve on that.
P.S.: It was lunchtime on a Saturday but still we were the only people at the place. Having said that, there were no issues with the service and waiting time.
I came here to celebrate my aniversary, I had a really great time. The arrangements was really awesome. The food are so delicious, the staff were very helpful and served us well. Thank you so much team for this ! Last but not least to say about this restaurant is some moments are nice, some are nicer, some are even worth writing about....
Will be visiting soon to give my review again...

One of the best Continental Pure vegetarian restaurant at a very decent price.
The place consists of two restaurants managed by the same people. One for Continental dishes which is "The Shack" and another place for serving traditional South Indian food which is "Flavours of Nellai". I just tried the Continental food but Flavors of Nellai also seemed good but didn't try and food from this menu.
All the starters were pretty good, nothing to complain. Must try are the Mozarella Sticks, Lays sandwich and Au gratin varieties which were pretty good. Nachos were good, but don't expect too much cheese here.
The pasta here is pretty good! The sauce is thick and full of cheese and you could really feel the flavor of all the veggies in it. You could create your own pasta dish, with the pasta type, the sauce and the toppings. I would really recommend this. Also don't miss the Mac and cheese which was drool worthy. Just the right amount of cheese, well cooked macroni pasta and the accompanied garlic bread were pretty good.
The sandwiches too were fine, but not as good as pastas and the starters. It's passable.
Finally the beverages consisted of milkshakes and mojito's. Must try in this segment is the Virgin Pina Colada which tasted like heaven :)
You can be seated inside the hut, the air conditioned place or even outside which would be nice during a cool evening with the breeze from beach.
The people who served were really polite and overall it was a pretty good experience.
Had a date night with my wife for our anniversary.... From the moment I called in for a table until we left the premises, we felt really happy that we selected a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Be it the ambience, the service, the food everything was perfect. We had a very great time and Thank you "The Shacks" for making our day the best.
The Shack is a very good place for private parties and events. They have shacks to accommodate 2 people, 4-6 people (small groups) and bigger shacks to accommodate larger groups of 10-15 people. They help with the decorations and prep for the parties. It's a veg restaurant, but the food is really nice. Feels fresh and tasty. The owner is a very friendly and warm woman. Service is good, will rate it great if it was a little faster. Kids can also have fun as they have a small play area for kids aged 4-8years.
We booked for a candle light dinner and it's worth it.Food taste is yummy 😋
Awesome place. Shack like atmosphere is maintained inside the restuarant. Both continental and south indian dishes are available. Burnt garlic noodles and fried podi idli are must try. The rates are reasonable too.
A perfect place for Celebration without any hustle, right from booking and its cost effective 💯💯💯.
Food is boom, AMBIANCE is litt. Their dedication towards decoration of the place,that to just the way I've expected is really appreciative. Honestly, we had a great time, Thank you so much Shacks...
The quality of food here is very good. The staff are very courteous.
Had my birthday surprise set up there & loved it to the most...it made my day...& Food was also good... definitely going back again vry soon
