Favorite place of me and wife when we feel to have a north Indian dish. Really authentic north Indian taste and budget friendly. The person who manages the counter is friendly with a pleasant attitude but still can improve to be more present to customers.
Uttar Bhojan is your go-to for authentic home-made North Indian food. The food tastes home-like and is very healthy.
I have visited their hotel in person and walked through the kitchen, and I can attest that they maintain the premises very clean and hygienic!
Don't forget to try their Paneer Tikka, and Lemon Shikanji :P

We have ordered atleast thrice from this place and this place surprises us everytime. First two times we ordered North Indian thali. Last time we said we would try something different and wanted to explore. I must say they didn't disappoint us.
We ordered Paneer Pakoda and Pani Puri for starters. Trust me the quantity was good and quality was top notch. Both paneer pakoda and Pani Puri was yummy and tasty.
Then we had ordered Pav Bhaji to taste. We loved it. Though it didn't taste like the typical North Indian pav bhaji something was missing. But nevertheless it was good.
Last we had ordered Phulka , bhaji and dal. This was little of a let downer as the aloo bhaji was full of masala. Not my types.
Masala chaas to end the dinner. It was yummy and spicy.
I've fallen in love with this place. I'm sure this will one of my go-to restaurants. Will definitely recommend ✔️

Before moving to Chennai, I was told by many that finding delectable north Indian food in Chennai is a gigantic task. However, I had full faith in my Foodie instincts and never ending association with Zomato.
My search has taken me to multiple north Indian restaurants in Chennai so far and most of them have not disappointed me even after numerous visits/orders.
We found out about Uttar Bhojan a couple of months ago via Zomato and we've ordered countless dishes from them so far. My favorites are definitely the Bread Pakora, Gobhi Parantha, daal and Rajma.
The food is undoubtedly good but can be a bit better taste-wise. Additionally, items like Dahi Bhalla and Chole (in Chole Bhature) need serious improvement as these dishes are far from being authentic north Indian in taste.

Amazing place for enjoying authentic North Indian food in Chennai. There are many places which make a mess of the original dish composition and flavor and also price it insanely. This quaint little place has every item in logical thali combinations to make complete meals. Their attention to packaging items is also exemplary. The pricing is very good for its quality and people should definitely give this a try. Hope their start a diner in their Valasaravakkam location soon.
Extremely satisfied with my very first order. I ordered the Special Ghar Ki Thali and it was simply superb. Every single item was so nicely prepared and felt like how mother would cook at home. The quantity of the rice could have been little more but a very good quality meal. I will definitely be ordering a lot from this place in future. :)
The food had so much flavours. Loved everything they gave . Their phulkas were super soft. Panner butter masala was very yummy. The quantity was just right.

Nice place to order genuine north Indian food. I & my family have stayed for long periods in Delhi & have a special liking for North Indian dishes particularly Punjabi. We couldn't find good outlets for these in Chennai. But, once we stumbled on to Uttar Bhojan, our views completely changed. You get really tasty, genuine, home made north Indian food at most reasonable price here. We are now addicted to this place. I would give it a 👌👍 any day !!!!

Aloo capsicum Parantha was excellent!
samosas were very tasty. needed to microwave it. but it was good. bhel was a bit spicy for my taste.
Food quality, packing, portion size and price was normal and good.
I ordered ghar ki thali so in that taste of paneer gravy was not good apart from that everything was perfect.
If you are looking for a light, tasty meal then this is the place you are looking for. A light meal won't harm your stomach and the food quality is good. Combos are nice and worth it.
food is prepared good. but the delivery was after 1 hour. very slow. may be the restaurant was flooded with orders. dont know.. but 1 hour is too long to make food.
The quality of the food was good...but was not satisfied with the quantity of the food... The chapati should have been 4 for the respective order... I would suggest increase the chapati to 4 without effecting the price, quality and anyother items... I would have given 5 of the quantity would have been a little more...

I am a frequent visitor to Chennai, and the thing I feel is North Indian food in Chennai is something which is not that great. To prove me wrong, I visited Uttar Bhojan Food House. It can be easily located on the main road itself. When you look at the place from outside you would feel its a small place which can accommodate hardly few people. But when you enter inside, they have one more section which can easily accommodate a lot of people. This place has an air conditioner, so you can eat your food in peace and not face the heat of the hot city of Chennai.
Coming to the drinks, we ordered for Lemon Shikanji which is their bestseller. It was refreshing, cool and sweet in taste. We called for Meethi Lassi which too was delicious and made from good quality curd. Also, Masala Chaas which was a thicker version of a regular buttermilk was spiced well and I totally loved it.
For appetizers, we started off with Pani puris. The Puris are not the ones made with maida. Here, they make their own dough for puris and fry them which makes them more crispy and light on the stomach. The chutney too were very fresh and I loved it. The second dish we called for was Kangna Chaat. My basic idea about Kangna chaat was it may be something to do with bangles and No, this dish is made from fresh paneer. It has grated paneer which is made into a stuffing which is coated with a layer of capsicum in shape of a bangle. It is served with some grilled paneer pieces and chutney to go along with. The third dish we called for was Veg Ande. The notion I had about this dish was that it maybe Eggs with some veggies. But, again this was something that literally amazed me. The dish is in shape an egg, where the layer below is made with Paneer and it is fried and the inside layer is made with Khoya and topped with some pepper powder and chopped coriander. This dish was super delicious and I personally loved it. Also, I ordered for a Dahi Puri, which was also very delicious.
For main course, I called for Aloo Paratha which was served with curd and pickle. The pickle served is a speciality from the north and was out of the world. The Aloo Paratha was very delicious. They serve 4 pieces which are huge and heavy. The taste was definitely from the north. Also, the owner said to us that the cooks in the kitchen are all from the North, as they wanted to maintain the quality and taste of the north indian style of food.
For sweets, we called for Jalebi which was again very delicious. They serve 3 pieces in a plate.
This place is budget friendly and also maintained very well. The interiors are done up by an artist called David. They also have an outlet in Kodambakam, where there are graffitis on their walls and the theme is very traditional.
Overall, Id rate the ambience : 8/10
The food : 9/10
The service : 8.5/10

I am a regular customer of Uttar Bhojan - Taste the North and had seen how they make the tasty North Indian dishes in their Valasarawakkam outlet. When I was told that they are planning to launch Dakshin Bhojan - Taste the South, I could not wait for that to happen. As soon as the outlet was open, I went straight and ordered few of the dishes (pics shared).

Why did I order?
Firstly, I was impressed with their quality. This coupled with some great pricing and irresistible taste made me to go for it. I did not order them all in one go. I ordered on various occassion and placing them all under one review.
They use mineral water apart from using Agmark oil. They do not reuse the oil. Their ingredients are sourced from one place and hence they maintain their quality.
Their kitchen is maintained well and so as the staffs who are neat.
Their service is too good to resist. The ambiance of perfect for family or small get together.
There is no extras use of oil. There is no excess use of any of the other ingredients as well. This means, you get to eat some of the finest foods which gives you the feel f tasting the home made food which is their motto.
Give it a try. You’ll become their patrons, forever.
We bought chapathi and pulkas with two side dishes . All are good . Only suggestion is to provide onion , cucumber and lemon can be provided as complimentary, since the disses being North Indian style.

I really enjoy the taste of UttarBhojan always. Today I had ordered for Ghee Chappathi and kurma. May be simple. But the involvement they show in their cooking is appreciatable. They really take care of us ( Customers). Whenever I order my food and call them, they talk to us very politely. Particularly their Owner. I honestly recommend this restaurant for homely north indian food. They Have south Indian chef also.
Ordered food and gave a special request for No Onion & No garlic, The Manager politely took and made special arrangements for us to cook as per our request. The food tasted really great as we expected.. Shahi Panneer, Bhindi Masala & Mutter Mushroom along with Panneer paratha and Phulka. Overall the restaurant took extra effort and gave us a very tasty food..

This is located in pakka residential area, very interior, yet the quality of the food served here is very good. For the ones who like silent atmosphere can try dine in here. These people try to deliver authentic Uttar Pradesh based food (100% veg)
We recenty ordered Paratas, gravy and Veg Biryani on our son's birthday. Food was superb (Hygeine, quality and taste) and every one in the family appritiated. If you want nice north indian parathas this is your place
I took my family today at kodambakkam new outlet, it was great feeling that I had a good north Indian food after a long time. Near my place u don't find any good quality North Indian food. My parents had special thali and my wife and kids try paraatha, pullka, panner butter masala. I can just say in one line it was awesome food we all enjoyed it.
Service was very good, owner Mr. Krishnan in person greeted us and explained his concept of bringing in the quality food with affordable charges, and the ingredient used in their food etc. Mainly the cooks are from North and they are professional. Value for money and good quality food. I recommend all yo visit..

Amazing place for authentic North Indian dishes. Their items are priced at pocket friendly rates while the quality is what you would get in a high end restaurant. I ordered my lunch through and got it before the promised time. They had accidentally delivered one of the dishes wrongly. When I called up and informed them, Uttar Bhojan's staff immediately came and replaced it. We had their Special Ghar Ki Thali which was very delicious. The quantity of pulav in it is quite huge compared to others. Also, they have added quite a few whole spices. The side dishes were also nice. We also had Aloo Paratha and Mattar Paratha, which were also nice. Their Gulab Jamun is also nice and soft, worth the money.
