Love the Sambar at this Restaurant.! (No other restaurants can come near to taste of the Sambar served here - including the so called Ratna cafe at Triplicane) It is a very old and very famous restaurant in Chintadripet. They also serve "spiced" hot water as a compliment upon request.
Their mini tiffen is ultimate value for money. Fully satisfying sumptuous breakfast at a pocket and stomach friendly way.
Every item in this restaurant is priced very low when compared to their taste and quality.
I would strongly recommend a visit and also to take your friends who wish to taste the real south Indian breakfast.
Guys I'm a localite n it's been 30 yrs I'm dining here. Sambhar is d most sought after dish. Morning Pongal n vadai with vadacurry will make Ur day. Also relish the Set dosai n order for a crispy parotta (not chilly parotta) apart from the regulars and end Ur order with strong filter coffee. Economical n the best๐๐๐
Head to Murudis, Chindadripet, if you want to have the "best" Masala Dosa in Chennai.ย I can say this confidently as i am native of chennai, and i have had in almost all the places in chennai.ย You can request a extra crisp while placing your order..ย Simply order and enjoy the food.

wow.. best in chintadripet.. i am regular to the hotel for 3 decades and their sambar taste is still the same and yummy.. Try mini tiffin for the breakfast,. Cheap and best
Service is good. Ambiance is good. I've been going to the place quite often. This place is known for its rava pongal. I personally like the vada sambar served here.
Known for idli sambar but they also serve many varieties of dishes. Among them chilli parata is one which i loved. Even rava dosa, plain dosa were great.
Recommended by my colleague for a workday lunch.. We group of 5 went there and found it to be neat. I have seen ppl complaining about the location as it is situated opp to fish market. Guys this place is more than 5 decades old and discriminating the location is too bad now. And when it comes to Food, this is a udupi style hotel and for lunch we had mini meals, Curd vada and keerai vada. All Tasted really good and the quantity is sufficient for the price we pay. Always better to carry cash as the card machine might not work.
Overall I say I would really like to try their other dishes than lunch.
Recommended for budget food goers.

oh my God. . un sung hero of sambar. if u taste the sambar of chindadaripet murudis u wont like any where else. im having since my childhood now im 27 and traveling all over state country i didt find such a great taste of tiffin served with sucha yummy sambar

I have been in zomato for quite sometime and has not reviewed a restaurant yet. There is a reason behind choosing this place to start reviewing, this restaurant is there for more than 5 decades now. I have grown up eating at this place. So this review is based on humpty number of visits (lost count of number of visits as it would be in some hundreds).
For people who are looking for ambience this place is diagonally opposite to Chintadripet fish market. When you are looking for a quick breakfast, then this place is for you. A typical udupi hotel. Their speciality is their sambar idly (swimming idly as one of my friend calls -- idly swims in sambar). Vada , Pongal and vadacurry are the other try items. This place opens quite early. I remember eating here at as early as 5:30 am.
Having said good things about the hotel. Y 3.5 then? The quality has gone down in recent times and the taste of sambar has deteriorated drastically in recent times. I came to know that the chef who has been there for years have moved out and are struggling to get their taste back on track. If you have not visited this place once, then give a try once if you are passing by.

Murudis Idli sambar is the best๐ I'm eating at this resto from my small age and this is the only resto tat is near my place for more than a decade now! A lot of new restos has been currently opened in Chintadripet but this is still unbeatable. The sambar served here is Mangalore Sambar and all tat you need to do to achieve a perfect Sambar idli is:
Order Sambar Idli and not idli sambar. Add a dallop of Chuntey with the served hot idli sambar. Now eat the combo and tis is how people eat there. Definitely the idlis will melt down your throat. One best thing is they serve you unlimited sambar and chutney so you can ask them whenever you want.
Or, Early mornings can start with a Tiffen combo with idli, dosa, pongal or kichadi with mini coffee. The price here is very cheap.
Please don't try Chinese food and meals it will not be good.Instead try Tiffen varieties with sambar.
Ambiance and Place is not that gr8 and it is near Chintadripet fish market so for veg friendly people mayn't be able to bear the smell. Go here for a pocket friendly breakfast!

Visited this place for a quick breakfast , it so happened to see this mini tiffen combo poster stuck on the wall , thus ordered the same .
Review about the items individually:
Idly - Soft and quite big fluffy one.
Dosa- A crispy medium sized stuffed with masala
Pongal- OMG , All the the quantity provided was not complainable , this was delicious and contained right amount of ghee .
Vada - I was tempted to ask one more to satiate my craving but controlled in order to not compensate on coffee.
Sambhar - Out of the world
Chutneys - Tasty
Coffee - Goes with saying , TRUE LOVE *_*
In a nutshell , Dude Please go and try this place instead of opting for all highly overrated & branded hotels.
P.S: The server was courteous enough to provide me with extra sambhar and chutneys even without me asking for it , on seeing it was about to get finished.

A very famous restaurant in the chintadripet locality... Well known for its sambar... Though many new hotels opened in the area, still many people prefer Murudi's because of its taste.
Murudis is one of those udupi restaurants that I have been regularly getting food home delivered from whenever I am in the Egmore area. I don't go to the restaurant itself, rather prefer home delivery because their ambience isn't so good. However, their quality of food is good. I love their chutneys and their dosa is one of my favourites. It's extremely reasonable and affordable for a quick meal.
My house is near to this hotel.one of the good hotel to have a breakfast,lunch,or dinner with good taste.
I organized 1st Birthday party in their Kamadhenu AC Party hall. They are friendly, affordable, food is good too. I am glad to arrange it. It was a last minute plan but everything went well.
We tried poori, masala dosa, pongal, idli & vada.. all tasted yummy. Highly recommend. Maybe this place can be a bit clean but not bad though. Coffee is the best.. must try ๐

Very neet and clean restorent. Mini tiffin is a very special offer by restorent. Which is served between 9 to 11 in the morning. It contains one idle, one medubady, pongal, one masala dosa, one mini cofy along with very special sambhar and two very testy chatnee.

I have been having food and coffee from this small hotel from past 40 yrs. Earlier they use to give Special Grape Juice and Rose Milk the taste of which still I relish and unfortunately they are not supplying now. Coffee is the Best
