I have been coming here since my childhood may be from 18 years till now the taste has never changed of anything. The aroma of the sambar and meals is mouth watering all the time
Since childhood I am a regular customer of Krishna bhavan. It's been there for more than 20 years now. A clean place, the staffs are very polite, the price is so reasonable and there is no compromise on the quality nor the quantity... all the varieties tastes so good.
Daily at My Grandma 👵 “s House morning breakfast 🥞 from Krishna Bhavan I loved the idli and the plain & masala Dosas I Ate .... It’s Affordable low cost day till night all the rickshaw and truck and lorry 🚛 and cab 🚕 drivers drink and eat ............. the place can do more better in their ambience & get More Food Items in their menu .... best wishes to them ..
Lovely food... For a reasonable price... Worth having food from here.. if u r craving for perfect south indian food, this is the place.. Amazing sambar 😍
Good option for vegetarians , although there may be rush at the restaurant , we had to wait for 10 mins to get a table , but it was worth it , ordered Special biriyani, Mushroom Gravy , Roti & Rava Dosa . All of them were tasty , happy with the food . 9/10 Rating for the Food .
I have been here since my childhood. Food quality and taste is awesome. As a small hotel the ambience is OK but when it comes to tasty food and service they are the best. Whenever I visit, this place used to be crowded. Its bcoz of their quality locality people visit here often.
Very nice food and value for money ,,,, service is good. Ambiance needs to be improved .. but the only place to get medu vada even in the late evenings
This is such a good decent restaurant with the ‘Pure Veg’ style. It is such a pocket friendly place to have a Vegetarian combos and have to work on Service and Ambience.
P.S : Only a better restaurant at this New Avadi Road stretch. Comparatively highly recommended .
This place deserves 5 stars but since it is a very old restaurant i would suggest they work on their ambience. The place is shady but trust me the food is damn amazing. At a reasonable price you get hot food with awesome variety and super tasty curries. I ate meals one afternoon and its the best a Ive ever had. Compromise on the ambience and this place is a sure 5 -star.
Hi foodies this hotel was refered by my father friend really to say it is really worth with reasonable price compare to vasantha bavan or saravana bavan
I had a feeling of eating in our homes really too good quality and quantity everything is good pls foodies try once u will. Like it saravana , & vasantha bavan are for name sake price also too high but not worth
Krishna Bhavan is where you go, when u want to have good pongal and Vadai for breakfast; meals, veg fried rice and veg manchurian for lunch and idli and sambar for dinner. Small time place but good food.
Stopped by for the breakfast and it was great !! The idli and the dosa with the chutney and sambar were amazing. the bonda's were good too :) Will be stopping by next time when I visit kilpauk. The food is cheap and best.P.s. Onion rava was the best !!
Hi I visit this hotel very frequently with my wife and kid.Happy thing is we visited initially when my wife was conceived and now with kid.Happy food no need to worry about quality and service.Small place best place for satisfied food.Cost is very minimum compared to new hotels who provide AC and charge 4 times.I recommend this place for all my friends and readers
Every locality has one of this legendary hotel serving the best of it consistently and Sri krishna bhavan is one among them. I've been eating from this place since childhood and I love the taste of everything here.
Usually Sunday dinner sabzis we get from here. Their paneer butter masala is not authentic one I'd say but it has a different aroma. South Indian version of paneer rather.
Many times Sunday breakfast is also from here. Soft idlis and crispy dosa. Their pongal is also good with lots of black pepper in it. Kuruma parota is okayish.
Their Chilli parottas are to die for! Trust me. This might sound little exaggerating. But it is. I ate chilli parota at saravana bhavan and had a doubt if its noodles with channa or exactly what I've ordered. My friends who die for HSB chilli parota would definitely like this more than that. And its just Rs. 80.
We don't dine in because the ambiance is not really right for a family to sit down for dinner. So its always parcel. Which is served in about 15 mins. The quantity is undoubtedly reasonable. Their gravies are Rs. 100 approx and they serve a 500gms box for that.
But on my last visit I had noticed they have a small cubicle sort of set up, for families I suppose. Maybe next time we would dine in there.
In the evenings you'll find many north indian ladies making orders for parcel :p Do give this place a try. And don't miss to try their chilli parota.

This hotel is known to me for about 10 years. I pack food here when I return back from office. Usually the parcel section will be crowded and it will take almost 10 to 15 minutes and sometimes even ½ an hour to get the food packed. Idly, Doosa, Poori, Chapathi, Pongal, Onion Rava are the best to taste. Sambar & Chutney tastes great. I haven’t tasted Pongal here and want to taste soon.
Very much pocket friendly and tastes good.
Recommended for South Indian Breakfast.

☆Fabulous place and its near my grandmothers house which is in kilpauk amazing idies , vadais & dosas when ever i come from other state with the taxi driver i do eat something and go to my grandmothers house. I love it ♡♡♡♡♡
A homely & pocket friendly neighbourhood restaurant. Has been a back up to our kitchen for the past decade. No lunch grab a meals parcel. No dinner take away tiffin items. Located on New Avadi road opposite to Pazha mudir nilayam. Apt for parcels / take aways. On a busy road so no parking, you can however park in the nearby streets.
Got our dinner parcelled from here yesterday. Had idlies, puri, parotta. Idlies are yummy and a must try. All their tiffins are superb.
Go-to place to get a parcel
Location: On new avadi road busy space! No parking for cars
Ambience: Quick grab joint type
Food: Decent, can't recommend the north indian stuff here
Service: Quick
VFM: Yeah
South indian foods served at reasonable price . Their sweets are good too . Have been visiting them occasionally for the past 3 years , they are still good .
Past 20yrs this restaurant has kept up to the taste without any changes,
Good place to eat the idly dosa, paratha, vada and their spicy chutneys the best.

This place is located on the New Avadi Road exactly opp to Kovai Pazhamudhir Nilayam.
This place serves south Indian tiffin that one could try anything from their menu. The taste is anywhere between ok to good depending on your luck card.
Medhu Vadai is my personal favo and is hugeeeeeeeeeee!!! :)
Easy on pocket and service is pretty quick. The place is crowded throughout the day and the quantity is fair enough.
Two wheeler parking is feasible. Car can be parked in the adjacent road.
Superb south Indian breakfast and lunch.
I love the pongal very much. The side dishes never have disappointed me at any time.
You also find a sweet stall there but I haven't tried it yet....
I have been going to this hotel for ages now and I must say that this is the perfect spot for having traditional South Indian food. I will have at least Breakfast/Lunch almost every day when I drive nearby this hotel.
Idly - I just love their Idlies. They are so soft and yummy. Go at around 7-8 am to enjoy hot idlies.
Vada/Bonda - They are just lovely. They got variety of masala vadas too served hot right to your table.
Pongal - Usually I don't like pongal but their pongal is really good, filled with ghee, pepper and cashews.
Poori/Porotta - Ask for green peas kuruma which is just awesome with porotta. This side dish is my favorite.
Rava Onion Dosa - My all times fav dish. Usually rava attracts lots of oil but their version contains less oil which is good.
Brinji Rice - My favorite variety rice. Not that spicy too..
Meals - Their meals is not that great. I believe they have different menu daily but not upto my expectation. I don't like their Sambar, may be it contains more curry leaves (I guess). Also, they charge for curd which is not good. They serve meals upstairs. 80Rs for meals.
Fried Rice/Biriyani - All varieties of fried rice are available and they are just great. Not that spicy too. Another thing is that they add all sorts of vegetables in their rice. Biriyani is bit spicy but it's great too.
North Indian - I would strongly recommend you to try their Mushroom Masala along with Tandoori Roti/Naan. They are excellent. They rock when it comes to Quantity and Quality.
Deserts - They have HOT sweets available on the front. My favorite are their Laddus and Horlicks Ghee Mysore Pak :)
Ambiance is good and they have a separate section for family, no AC though. Ample bike parking space in front of the hotel and can also utilize the small narrow road nearby too for car parking. Staff are really friendly and they serve the dishes quick (North Indian/Chinese will take sometime though)
I would rate 4/5 , Definitely VFM.
Cheers!
WOW. I could just end here, but it would do this legendary place a lot of injustice, if I dont list out what all to eat. First and foremost their Kothu Paratha and their Sambar. Any one has a good taste for good sambar, this is the place. The variations in their parathas - kothu, chilli and kheema are very good. Their Rava Masala and Onion uthappam is very good.If you want to settle down for lighter stuff, their idly sambar, vada sambar, plain paratha , chapathi kurma are few other things that I dont get bored of eating daily. All in all, you cant get food, better than home, for such good price. Justifies why they are open till past 11pm and the waiters, serve with the same passion and speed. Keep going.
This is most memorable restaurants for me ever...its located close to my residence n the taste hasnt changed for ages...chilly parotha is my fav here n still tastes the exact same n i still cant the whole plate all by myself.... Rava dosa and idlys also my favourite from d menu... the taste and quantity and presentation is the same frm so many ages n tats y i love this place so much...Reminds me of my childhood...The chefs are so consistent with their recipes...Thumbs up to u guys
Decent south Indian food for a song. Busy through out the day, you'll enjoy their dosas and "meals". Service is fast. Price is OK. The patrons here don't expect much of an ambience. Located in a residential area the take away counter is always buzzing.
Been goin here for ages , Brilliant south indian food, for me its the best in chennai, chuck all the big big names.
₪ Speciality - The vengayam chutney, a unique taste , u can go here just for this. Die hard fan of this chutney.
₪ Best Picks - Set Dosai with vadacurry, One of the best Masala Vadai, Onion rava dosai, their veg meals is a real attack ones ( Best part , meals is available for dinner too, whoah ) and not to miss their thick Tea, a real treat aftr ur meal!!
₪ Price - Very Reasonable
₪ Food Portion - Huge ones, anythin u order
₪ Ambience - None, a normal food place, neat.
₪ Service - Very quick and friendly waiters.
Very good for veggies, typical old world veg hotel... I regularly visit this hotel and have always had a satisfactory food, be it brkfst/lunch/dinner... One more interesting thing-they serve meals for dinner too!
Ok for a quick veg tiffen bite..
I'm a regular visitor to Krishna Bhavan, Kilpauk for break fast and dinner. The food served here are pretty close to home made food in taste and they are not bad in quantity too. Very moderately priced. Pretty neat and spacious. I recommend this place if you are looking for a pure veg restaurant around Kilpauk.
Went there on a busy Sunday on Christmas Eve, there was waiting time of 10-15 minutes, tried their special items for the day. Most of the Dosas were really tasty, it is a pure vegetarian restaurant and offer wide range of North Indian and South Indian cuisines. Surely recommend if your want to try chennai cuisine.
Very tasty south indian food. It is huge rush when i visited the place. Have to wait for my turn to get the place to dine in. But the quality and the taste of the food is excellent and ot is worth waiting. There is a limited parking facility available in front of the restaurant. The staffs are good but they are always busy due to the huge crowd inside. Lot of varieties to choose from. And the taste is superb.
I recently dined at this restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! The restaurant offers ample seating, which is a big plus. The service was excellent, and the staff was attentive throughout the meal. As for the food, it was simply delicious. The ground floor restaurant is perfect for a quick lunch, while the first floor offers an elegant fine dining experience. Whether you're in the mood for a casual or upscale meal, this place has got you covered. I'll definitely be returning for more!
A 4.5 just for the mini tiffin... Right in the middle of Anna nagar and you have the mini tiffin at the rate of 42 rupees.. Mini dosa, vada, idly and Pongal with a mini coffee is more than enough. Other dishes are also great. If you are trying to be economical in Anna nagar, then this is the spot.
I have been coming here quite often. Nice clean place, usually crowded on weekends.
Very good service and tasty food.
But of late, the wear & tear of the place is showing up. Service and food is lacking the initial excitement.
The care for details is missing. The maintenance of decor is lacking.
Hope the owners take heed.
Update : In our recent visit we tried few indo chinese items , they tasted very good. Consistency in terms of quality and service is really keeping this place a top vegetarian restaurant in this area.

We tried Onam Sadya Special lunch here. Awesome food. Staff are polite and supportive. Recommended to others to try.
It is a great place to have good food. But the crowd is almost always high and it often requires a few mins. of waiting time. The service is quick. There is also valet parking. However the parking is done on the road. There is a parking space, which is almost always full.
At this place you can have the best south Indian breakfast! It was delicious 😋
Delicious and healthy vegetarian food at reasonable cost. Value for money.

Taste of food is good. Price also reasonable. But very crowded. So if you are going there to have your food, then first register your name with the person for seat allotment. A person will be there to note your name and count. You can wait outside or you can wait there itself.
