Best BBQ chicken in and around besant nagar! Ordered couple of dishes from them, like schz veg fried rice, schz chicken noodles, chettinad chicken curry, paneer manchurian and bbq chicken! Except the paneer all others where good. Paneer manchuriam was very dark and oily, i didnt want to take a picture too as it was really grouse. Best Best Best BBQ Chicken. Last two weekend wanted to order bbq badly, but they ran out of the dish, i request the restaurant to make extra bbq chicken only on weekends atleast. Thanks :)
First order from this restaurant. Had ordered Alfam BBQ chicken and kuboos. The chicken was well cooked and not too spicy. Tasted really good.

Stomach calls out for food at late night is a common thing for me. Usually i depend my fridge to grab some chips and water to fill me bcse i had some worst experiences in ordering late night food🤢. Today i found a pamphlet of poppies restaurant at besant nagar along with my newspaper says that they have started late night delivery. Poppies was always good to me on my each visit to them So tonight i decided to ping them for food! unlike other late night delivery call attenders the man who picked up the phone was polite enough he suggested me porotta 20rs and mutton pepper fry 290rs total bill including tax was 388 delivery was super fast might be because i am just living near to them. The thing that made me to write this review at this mid night is the food that i got Wow it's the best combination that we could have at mid night it was lip smacking i just want to be their brand ambassador 😂 😍 Late night Cravings?? never compromise go for the tempting combination of Mutton Pepper fry and Porotta.... Just feeeeeeel it

Ordered few times here, the food is (what should I say umm) delicious and authentic. The right amount spices used for the Currys! Could do better the butter Naan tho (a tad bit dry ) and maybe shoot up the quantity a little bit. I would give a 4.5 star!
With a menu set, that has offerings from several cuisines, the array of food will leave u astonished and perplexed. Both vegetarians and non-vegetarians will have equal entertainment. The service is really good and the ambience was decent. Perfect place for a family gathering or outing. The Thai chilli potatoes, chicken lollipop and fried prawns we're some of our favourite starters. Their Singapore chicken fried rice was amazing and is definitely a must try.

We tried the Poppies restaurant at adyar for the first time last night and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. The waiters were attentive and service overall was good.
Ordered bbq chicken taste was good and flavour was tasty. Good service and packing was good. I ordered tandoori also but bbq was their best.
Love this new place in MG road Besant Nagar, I had from my way back from the beach. The BBQ was excellent and perfectly done. And loved the way they presented.I think they should add hummus also.Biriyani was also good. Falooda is nicer n different.The advantage is that you will find a parking here in either sides of the road. Liked in one word.

Returning from besant nagar beach we were looking for a place to dine in and we were more interested in Shwarma and Grill kind of stuff..stopping to browse through options on zomato and also remembering about a few posts on WCE about this place made us land over here for a bit early dinner...Located on the MG road this restaurant is easy to locate thanks to its bright lighting and vibrant name board..Has some basic parking space that can be more than suitable for the restaurant...
The Restaurant is slightly on the smaller side with a seating capacity 40 ppl max...But the interiors are good to give a pleasant and comfortable ambiance with good cooling...The Service is really good with friendly staff and attentive manager...The Waiting time too is on the lower side..the food arrived pretty quickly...
Given below are the items ordered and my take on them..
Lamb Pepper Soup : Loaded with veggies in pepper soup and some good lamb slices this one was really good with a spicy taste and hence was perfect start to the meal..
Chicken Shwarma Roll : The Shwarma was just perfect with veggies and meat in perfect ratio and was rich in taste due to the less use of garlic paste...had a very smoky taste and hence loved it...
Bbq Chicken : This itself was spicy with perfect cooking and the meat too soft and tender...served with good kuboos and garlic sauce along with a few veggies was...
Reshmi Chicken : Was the less impressive item of the lot...Though the taste was good the meat seemed a bit under cooked...The Green Chutney served along with this was good too..
Red Chicken Salad : Onions, Tomatoes, Carrots and Green Bell Pepper along with Chicken Kheema sprinkled on along with spicy sauces and tossed..
Chicken Biryani : This one was a good Dum Biryani with perfect feel and smoky finish of the dum..The meat was juicy and tender and had perfect flavor of the masalas..
Singapore Noodles : Spiciest Noodles but i completely loved it..The after taste that the spiciness left was too good..Have this with a bit of tomato ketchup..it will definitely help..
Mini Falooda : One of the best Faloodas you can get for this price.....Had nuts, tutti fruti, corn flakes along with rose flavored milk and big scoop of ice cream..
Lime Mint Cooler : Pretty average stuff..but was served perfectly chilled...
Pricing of the items is on the average side...And for this restaurant and food it is completely worth it..Definitely one of the restaurants that i will recommend in this locality for good food and service with decent ambiance..

This time when we planned to Besant Nagar beach I made my friends to agree that dinner would be at Poppies only. Literally I was talking too much about that restaurant to them, in deep I was worried if the night was spoiled means surely they will fry me ;) But Kudos to team Poppies they proved their consistency. We had BArbeque Chicken full 360rsChicken biriyanis 170 rs for each, Chilly Chicken and fried rice along with deserts (don’t remember the price ) This time restaurant was crowded but still the manager had recalled me and gave a 10percentage discount too. Last time it was their first month that I paid my first visit after 2 months the crowd pofver there itself is a proof that it will become the best Chain of restaurants soon

Chicken biryani - it was a delicious biryani I ever had in a multi cuisine restaurant.the biryani contains good quantity of masala and it was spicy too.
Chicken fried rice - good quantity and worth for money.

BBQ - this is called the real Arabian bbq.highly satisfied.felt a diffrent in masala .but tastes awsome.
Chicken noodles - it was too spicy and oily .but tastes good.
Chicken tandoori- sooooperb taste

They are one of the best in addressing the customer issue.
When I filed a discomfort they reacted to the issue very maturedly.

Basically i use to order bbq and grill in all arabian restaurant,and from here also same, i loved their speciality spices in barbecues.. and also the chinise rices and starters also loved alot😍.. more over here serves indian,chinise and arabian too. V ordered a omlette after starters...but it din come until v finish our meal.. So v cancelled it... But then again they brought it and asked if v want it else v can cancel it.. Since v finished our meal v cancelled it...

We tried their Alfaham BBQ,CB,Chinese Rice etc which were all so delicious.Their BBQ’s are must try items.Biriyani was also very yummy and authentic when compared to their competitors.
They have plenty of showstopper desserts too.
Their Spcl mouthwatering Falooda is one of a kind.

It was a random selection when we were on our way in Adyar area. The outward look seems to be quite good and decorative with hanging light chains.
So we just went in and started looking for the menu.
The staffs were quite courteous. The guy who was serving us was very soft spoken he even helped us to select something new in starter.
▪️ Chilli chicken roast. The small pieces of chicken were roasted and then cooked in the wok with other ingredients to give a taste of chilli chicken. Tasty !!
The quality was good and the quantity too.
For the main course we preferred indian breads.
▪️ Butter naan▪️ Garlic naan and ▪️ Tandoori roti.
All the three were made perfectly. Naans were soft and buttery. Served hot to enjoy with the gravy.
▪️ Chicken Chettinad masala was the gravy we combined with the breads to have. The gravy was not that spicy as the name denotes but it was very well cooked and delicious.
We enjoyed overall and hence finished the dinner with desserts.
▪️ Pomegranate juice. It was not worth at all. Very watery. The thickness and the pomegranate taste was less and the water taste was more. It was a let down.
▪️ Fruit salad with ice-cream. We loved it though. Along with finely chopped fruits they used tutifruti as the base and topped up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Service was quite good and fast. While paying we noticed that some discounts were going on and on total bill they gave us 20% discount which is pretty fine.
Tasty food with good quality and at reasonable price. Worth a try !!!

One of the few good restaurants in its locality, my Frnd visited it and suggested me that biriyani is good as it’s of different taste and he is right . Biriyani is good with more pieces than usual ;). BBQ Chkn is very good and chkn drumsticks are soft and delicious and med spicy. Ambience is looking good but maintenance is not that good as I could see mosquitoes and flies .Over all its a worth visiting. Staff is very friendly.

This shop was new I wanted to try.
I took my family for a dinner. We ordered few dishes jus to try the taste. We ordered dragon paneer he gave us dragon chicken I told to take back then he gave us the dish as compliment.
It was sweet of him.
I would prefer BBQ chicken and spicy Thai noodles
It was damn good the rest were decent taste.
The hospitality and friendly nature was so comforting.
The receptionist gave us 10% of on bill I was shocked it was so sweet of him.
And this shop gives 20% off on home delivery and it will be open till midnight 2 am . That's a wow factor I like in this shop.
It's a decent shop with decent price to hangout with family .

Visited Besant Nagar church for my wedding anniversary on 20th Aug along with my entire family of 8 adults and 3 children.. had a very hard time in finding a non veg restaurant nearby.
After few exploration identified Poppies cafe.
Food was really good, especially barbecues.. ambience and service are really up to the expectation. Had a good time with the family and the staffs are well mannered and courteous. Overall had a wonderful experience. Will definitely visit if I happen to go again either to Elliott's beach or Besant Nagar church
Ordered BBQ Chicken Steak and Red Chicken salad... Wowwww... Its awesome.. Perfectly cooked Steak and mouthwatering spicy Salad.. One more added restaurant in my favorites list.. 😍😍
